What
is music about? It can be about anything, I guess, but that's not what we are
talking about. That's not why we are here. What makes the difference is if
music, any music, is worth it. Then it's something else. Like this piece,
Juho's solo album. What I suggest as a simile to music on this vinyl, is the
experience of sauna. Savusauna (smoke sauna) to be exact. The thing about
savusauna is that because of the method of heating, the room gets really hot,
and the smell of smoke is all over. Google it. But if you want to understand
it, try it. When you enter the sauna, you need to surrender, in order to
enjoy. A good savusauna is best when it is over 100 celsius. The heat is
intense, but don't let yourself feel affronted. Feel embraced. The heat is
your vessel. You are transported, just by sitting down. Breathe in, feel the
steam, it becomes you, breathe out. This is the way to approach the music on
this vinyl. Leave your opinions behind, like you do with your clothes in
sauna. You will have them back later, don't worry. But while you listen,
don't take anything with you, just focus: on sounds, on your body, on your
mind. They will be the same thing for the time being. After being heated up,
take your time to cool down. Dip in a lake, if you can. Feel the pulse in
your body, like the rhythm of the music. Glance up, float silently. In due
time, your body will calm down. By the time you are put to bed, the music
will continue inside you. This is what music is about, when it is worth the

"Dog
Eared"! Named as such as it marks a turning point in my productions and
releases. Made while moving from Bristol back to London this as a theme pops
up throughout the EP. "Ithaca Vox" is the name of my first ever
favourite preset - a CMI-inspired pad from GarageBand which I've been using
since I was 11 but never on a release. The track also samples the screeching
of Victoria line on my way back from nights out. "Bubble Trouble"
caused many headaches to finish hence the addition of the word
"Trouble". The track pops, floats and bursts into the space between
simplistic cartoon sound sources and excessively over the top sound design
and production. "Dive" dives further into these production ideas
swapping tight space tiny bubbles for wide grinning resonance. The twisting
track cuts these resonances leaving a large valley of missing frequencies
that gets suddenly filled by an unrelentingly simple bell centring the
listeners balance. "From Window to Wall" gives a not so subtle nod
to one of my favourite excessive chart hits as well as a further nod to the
source of some of the track samples (see if you spot them).
"Calpohol" is the first collaboration Ive released (another reason
to Dog Ear this release). Made from an afternoon of recording with Delay
Grounds on his custom Eurorack the track was shaped by us over the weeks that
followed |

Easy
Weapons' was the debut from North Carolina's Public Acid. Originally
self-released by the band in 2018 in a criminally small press of 300, LVEUM
is proud to finally get it back in print. PUBLIC ACID's debut is an extremely
ugly, powerfully distorted record. Taking cues from the outer fringes of both
Japanese and Italian hardcore punk and combining it with the weirdness of
early primitive black metal, pushing the feedback, noise and performing
intensity in to the red from the first note. PUBLIC ACID execute very
idiosyncratic song writing. Full of memorable riffs that twist and turn on a
constantly out of control ride, which gives it a very urgent feeling of

Chicago's Broken Hope shook up
the US death metal scene with a series of transitional releases, during a
time when the genre was shifting from the styles of old vanguards to themes
of heavy gore, with a matching visual aesthetic. Sixth album Omen Of Disease

Best known for his work as a
producer on the L.A. punk scene, Geza X also cut one bizarre solo album that
remains a cult item for scene aficionados. Born to Hungarian parents, Geza
(his real first name) adopted the «X» moniker in tribute to Malcolm X, and
got his first recording studio job in the mid-'70s. He soon moved on to
become the soundman at the legendary L.A. punk club the Masque, and spread
the word that he was interested in producing. The Germs' Darby Crash tapped
him to produce the band's landmark debut single «Lexicon Devil,» and from
there X went on to helm seminal Cali-punk moments like the Dead Kennedys'
«Holiday in Cambodia» and Black Flag's «Six Pack.» He also worked with
Weirdos, the Avengers, and new waver Josie Cotton («Johnny Are You Queer?»),
among others, and played as an instrumentalist in both the The Bags (a
female-fronted group who wore bags over their heads) and The Deadbeats |

Jamaica World Music Festival, which was held at the Bob Marley Centre, on
27th November, 1982. The Clash took the stage as part of the Jamaican World
Music Festival in Montego Bay at or around 4:00 am, which was probably mid-day
by their festivalling standards. They performed an hour-long, energetic,
reggae-heavy set to pay tribute to their Jamaican influences. Peter Tosh took
the stage next, and acts from Gladys Knight and the Pips to The Beach Boys

it and was 1ST LP RELEASED on Bernese Record Label and Shop 'RECORD JUNKIE
RECORDS' in a edition of 666 records, they where sold out pretty fast and
never reprinted again, record junkie stopped releaseing records after a
couple years of existence , Beat-Man was working at record Junkie in the Shop
so when it collapsed he formed Voodoo Rhythm records and after 24 jears of
silence and hours in the Cellar digging throu original 2" Master Tapes
and transform it into 2013 sound format that TRASH BILLY DESASTER Is
Available and Reborn Again, the LYRICS are as STUPID as its get and on the
Instruments they Have a Standard of some RETARDED CAVEMEN, and i think that
makes that Album interesting. TEENAGERS with the Attitude to Go in A Studio
and no Borders just the Love of ROCKABILLY And GARAGE PUNK and that Album was

album! The suggestive and incisive title of 'Moral Superiority' is a
superlative job. Would one call Superioridad Moral a mature record? That's a
complicated term to associate with Doctor Explosion. Still, this album is
sure that it shows Jorge and his band playing at a high caliber level. They
keep their punk and garage attitude but unfold a thousand more nuances in
this album: solid riffs, psychedelic atmospheres, anthological lyrics, and
superb arrangements. You can't just label Superioridad Moral as simple 'a
garage album': it was written and arranged without that intent. It is an
encyclopedia of the best rock music in which huge songs follow one another. A
brilliant record about maturity written by pathologically immature folks?
Yeah, that sounds about right. Superioridad Moral was recorded and mixed in
the legendary Circo Perrotti studios of Gijón and by the usual procedure:
analogically, on tape, using all kinds of old-fashioned machines, but
sounding real, direct, and, therefore, in your face. Mastered by Frank
Arkwright (production credits on New Order, The Smiths, Joy Division, Oasis,
Arcade Fire, among others) at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Not too bad |

fertile ground and forges new bounds of invigorated punk techno and EBM. Take
the eponymous opening track - a bare-knuckled anthem of distorted guitars and
thrashing drum-set fills that evoke the days of swinging sweaty elbows in
those dungy, DIY punk shows. Building off this heat-induced energy,
"Moskva-Baghdad" carves out an acid bath of hi jinks, mother tongue
vocals on top of world-conscious sounds. The pain only gets more brutal as
"If You Didn't Know" enters the ring, with its Memphis rap-tinged
and gritty EBM aesthetics - the track powers through with pumping cruelty.
"Korean Ride" touches upon the untapped corners of ice-sharp
electro with an undercurrent of esoteric, yet melodic, sensibilities. To
close out the release, "Drug Dealer's Accountant" weaponizes the
elements for an effective club banger - a submerged sub bassline,
surgeon-precise vocal cuts and gut punching rhythms for a KO finish. In other

It
was perhaps only a matter of time before Si Begg rocked up on Central
Processing Unit. Now an esteemed veteran of British beat tracks, Begg's name
has become synonymous with quality club productions ever since he burst onto
the scene three decades ago. In the years since, Begg has released scores of
records on some of the most prestigious labels in the business - Tresor,
NovaMute, his own Mosquito. As such, his debut on the Sheffield imprint whose
name has become a sign of quality since it launched in 2012 seems like a
wholly logical progression for one of electro's most consistently excellent
producers. Begg's casual mastery of his sound is shown off by the fact that
he doesn't over-egg the pudding of the Energie Electrique EP. Rather than
doing sonic cartwheels to get people's attention, Energie Electrique is
characterised by the way Begg adds or subtracts elements to sturdy grooves.
It's an approach which makes for a collection of tunes that manage to bring
the boogie from the off while they also hide all sorts of aural Easter eggs
amidst the mix. On opening cut 'Energy', a droning start full of crisp drum
programming soon develops into a head spinning electro groove reminiscent of
Kraftwerk's Computer World. An acid-laced bassline waxes and wanes,
modulating in intensity across several minutes as Begg sprinkles in
percussion, synth blurts and vocoder vocals. It's a slyly insistent
rump-shaker, and the - ahem - energy that the track provides carries through
into following number 'Buckfunk Beatz'. This joint begins with a gnarly,
chattering synth sound before the sizzle and snap of a broken-beat kick-hat
loop locks into place. While still very Kraftwerkian, 'Buckfunk Beatz' also
has the playful grizzle of contemporary practitioners like Cardopusher and
Begg's fellow CPU operator Silicon Scally. Things switch up at the start of
Energie Electrique's second side. Rather than rolling out a high-octane
groove, Begg delivers a low-slung mid-tempo roller called 'MS10 Machine
Funk'. The programming on the kick drum here could almost pass for a dirty
south hip-hop production if Begg didn't lace it with such a strangely
compelling use of the oscillator - sometimes squealing, sometimes squawking,
sometimes wobbling, always thrilling. The mix flecked with chordal stabs,
'MS10 Machine Funk' is a masterclass in combining danceable beats with the
quest for thrilling sounds that is so often the mark of a truly musical mind.
To round things out, Begg brings us back to the beginning. 'Electro P1 B' is
a delightfully dystopian bit of Drexciyanism. Piston-hiss drum programming,
nervy atonal synth nodules, some cavernous reverb deployment - this is a
body-mover if ever you heard one, and one executed with all the style, aplomb
and panache you'd expect of Begg. Si Begg takes his Central Processing Unit
bow with the Energie Electrique EP, a quartet of club tracks to rival

in 2013 we took ourselves on a discographic adventure without really knowing
what we were doing! Who would have thought that 10 years later, we'd be
releasing our 50th 45 RPM record? As luck would have it, we are happy to
announce our new release, in collab with one of the flagship bands from
today's funk scene, Germany's own "Mighty Mocambos", who have been
delivering their instrumental groove and Caribbean vibes via their alter ego,
"Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band" across Europe for more than fifteen
years. So, what better way to immortalize the raw and intense live sound that
they're famous for than releasing a record on our favourite format? Two sides
recorded live on tape during the "Queen 16 B-Girl battle" in Berlin
in 2022. Somewhat reminiscent of Can's "Vitamin C", the A side
"International Cypher" has an oriental funk feel thanks to the use
of the sharp sound of an electric Phin (Thai guitar), while thestraight up
percussive funk instrumental "Queen 16 theme" pays tribute to the

Jan Kincl, a Croatian artist with
music released on BBE, Far Out, and Sonar Kollektiv, is launching his own
label Cycle Records with an EP titled "For A Minute". Written and
produced at Jan's Cycle Studio in Zagreb, the EP features two original tracks
riding a thin line between techno and house, and a remix from Gene Hunt, one
of the pioneering artists responsible for shaping the early sound of Chicago
- "I loved the way the original had such an old school feel to it, jazzy
vibes with a 70's touch. When I was asked to do a remix I was like yesssir!

Wellen.Brecher
is an inclusive band that emerged from the Killekill's Berlin-based project
Ick Mach Welle. It consists of Werner Soyeaux aka Black Davil, Uwe Locati aka
DJ Locati, Dave Senan aka Senator and Hanni Kusch, a member of the German
punk band Pisse. After a very busy year 2022 with touring, the band are ready
to bring you their debut EP "Hitmaschine". Included on the release
is "Lasst Uns Feiern", the band's "Anthem", a banging
rave influenced mega-hit that manages to hit-hard and deep while keeping the
overall vibe happy and fun. For his remix, The Hacker radically cuts things
back while adding a hefty portion of 90s hardcore to deliver you another
"hit". On the B side, band member DJ Locati strikes sonorous notes
with his vocals, spread over a base of hypnotic acid trance and progressively
developing into a deep dive down into a rave tunnel. Rounding out the record
is a guest appearance by the band 21Downbeat. Their reinterpretation of
Wellen.Brecher's Tierisch Verboten (which was released as the opener of the
"Superbrains" compilation on Killekill) brings a healthy dose of
smashing newwave to the proceedings |

Oleksandr
Yurchenko (1966—2020) was a Ukrainian musician and illustrator. In 1990s and
2000s he took part in different bands from Kyiv, such as Electricians, Yarn,
Blemish, Suphina’s Little Beast etc., and he also collaborated with Svitlana
Nianio and Katya Chilly. Yurchenko is one of the brightest representatives of
the Ukrainian independent scene in 90s. Meanwhile, he is one of the most
mysterious musicians of this era, being a private person, especially in the
late 2000s, when Oleksandr had to leave music because of his illness, but he
focused on doing book illustrations and graphic works. In 2010s some of his
early records were published, and he was asked for an interview, but he
refused, suffering from a serious disease at that time. In April 2020,
Oleksandr Yurchenko died, leaving behind a great musical legacy. His main
work, “Count to 100. Symphony #1,” was documented in August 1994. Oleksandr
used strings instrument of his own invention. Yurchenko took the longboard to
make the instrument, installed guitar pickups and 4 strings, and played on it
with a bow. It was lost in the 2000s, but the musician remembered that it
looked like a long zither. The recording session was held by Oleksandr at
home, using guitar delay effects, loops, and Oreadna portable cassette
recorder. He tuned the instrument in a special tone, improvising on it for 25
minutes. This drone symphony can be compared with the works of such
avant-garde composers as Glenn Branca. However, it sounds innovative,
especially for Ukrainian music. Despite it, Yurchenko could not publish this
work officially in the 90s and made only a few copies for his own friends. At
the beginning of the 2000s, he decided to edit the original version of the
symphony. Oleksandr tried to restore the recording a bit, using some effects
to make the sound more massive and clear. At the end of the work on this
project, Yurchenko left this version in his archive but decided to publish
the original recording in the late 2010s. “Intro” is the most mysterious
recording from Yurchenko’s archive. Nobody could remember where and when it
was recorded, so we can assume that it was made at the beginning of the 90s
like a sound experiment because it was found on cassette tape with others
recordings of the band Yarn. Also, there is a suggestion that it might be a
Casio SK-1 sampler and some old Soviet keyboards. Merta Zara was a family
project of Yurchenko and his wife, Svitlana Neznal. They had only one home
recording session in 1994. Oleksandr was playing an electric cello of his own
invention, and Svitlana was playing on mandolin and singing. As a result,
they recorded only one track, "Dress," which appeared on the
cassette compilation "Skhovaysya" in 1995. Apart from it, they
recorded a few instrumental playbacks, which were found on cassette tape in
2021 |

Gang
Starr is undoubtedly one of the most revered, beloved and influential groups
in Hip Hop. Over the course of their distinguished career, they became a
cultural institution and a brand you could ultimately trust. The group’s
“Chain and the Star” logo symbolized power and excellence and it permeated
into the cutting-edge music they created. With a handful of indelible classic
albums on their resume, DJ Premier and Guru’s catalog has not only persevered
but mastered the test of time. Simply, Gang Starr did not follow trends, they
created them. Though they never “officially” disbanded after the release of
their last project (The Ownerz 2003), Premier and Guru still remained
infinitely connected to each other even as they embarked on solo paths.
Premier winning three Grammy’s along the way and assisting in turning fast
rising artists such as Nas, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G. and many others into rap
royalty; and his imprint included work with artists such as Drake, Christina
Aguilera, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Mac Miller, The Game, Ludacris, Maroon
5, Common, Mos Def, Rakim, KRS-One, Janet Jackson, D’Angelo, DJ Khaled, Joey
Bada$$, Royce 5’9, Twenty One Pilots, and Miley Cyrus; all of which spoke to
his diversity and ability to traverse genres. In turn, Guru would go on to
release his own quartet of highly influential Jazzmatazz projects. In the
interim, fans always clamored for another Gang Starr album. Though there were
whispers and murmurs over the years, nothing ever panned out and the
possibilities of that project being willed into existence seemingly grew more
remote as the years passed by. After Guru tragically passed away in 2010 the
hope seemed to vanish altogether. The one person who refused to give hope was
DJ Premier. “I never lost faith, or wavered. I still felt it inside of me, it
just happened to be nine years later (after Guru’s passing)” Premier
commented. “We all want the things we want right now, but I am a patient guy.
I hung in there and I just kept believing.” What’s past is prologue. In
September of 2017, DJ Premier embarked on a journey that had been years in
the making. He did so with Guru’s aura and presence unmistakably occupying
the studio with him; not only in spiritual form, but also in physical form,
as the urn with his ashes sat firmly atop Premier’s production console as the
iconic producer began working on the first new Gang Starr album in
sixteen-years. Guru’s monotone voice, as pristine as ever, suddenly, but
still unexpectedly enveloped the studio and it was as if he had been
resurrected. In that moment, time stood infinitely still and there was no
escaping how emotional, monumental and impactful this project would be. As is
the norm with all Gang Starr projects, the responsibility of naming the new
Gang Starr album rested solely on Premier’s shoulders. Undeniably, this time
with much more gravity attached. After a few machinations, he settled on One
Of The Best Yet. No one can argue that the title is apt, fitting and
well-deserved. Timeless art is often created by pain, loss, and trauma |

nervous, incisive. With Rebecca Delle Piane, you really can't go wrong. Class
98', Fondi born and Terracina based Italian artist joins the KEY crew with an
unmistakable four tracker EP. "Creatures of the night" takes our
hand into a paranoid and distorted bleepy delirium. Everything is unnerving.
A harsh, almost discordant mixture where the title clearly renders the idea
of its content. A2 "Personal Prison", softens down the confusion
and guides the listener a bit deeper into the rabbithole... The atmosphere is
ominous. Kickdrums are round and steady while crisp, subtle hats fill all the
blank 4x4 spots. Seething strings play with odd bells, all rounded off by a
rolling, groovy, beat. Up next goes "La Vita Di Allora", which in
italian translates 'the life of back then'- a sentimental title which

the composition is a thick, vibrating bassline, which blends in with
distorted snippets of the vocal. Definitely a dancefloor weapon for the high
momentums... And for sweat. Last but not least, B2 concludes the release by
developing the bleepy madness into a more grounding cut. A smooth grain delay
provides texture to the hi's, while toms take your attention to the low
frequencies once again. A general sound which will make you feel a different
kind of energy. Sinister and cavernous, with a high dose of adrenaline rush.

Huismann is back on Mutual Rytm with the much-anticipated third volume of his
'Sounds From The Past' trilogy. A core part of SHDW & Obscure Shape's
ever more crucial Mutual Rytm imprint thanks to his timeless techno offerings
as part of his ongoing 'Sounds From The Past' series, Berlin-based
DJ/producer Lars Huismann's stock continues to rise release by release as a
talent merging influences from the past with forward-thinking nuances of the
future. Drawing on the early 2000 techno sound, he embellishes it with his
own perspective, as evidenced by his earlier releases on the label. This
latest six-track offering is another accomplished outing from this unique
talent as he concludes the three-part series on the label in style. The title
track 'Sound From The Past III' opens up with a finely filtered chord groove
that provides a smooth and hypnotising foundation. A subtle bassline, buoyant
kick drums, and embedded vocal patterns harmonise with the synths, unveiling
a smooth linear groove that soon sweeps you up. 'Fusion' brings more
intensity with its barreling drum kicks, a dirty driving bassline, and
melodies flashing by like headlights on an intergalactic motorway, with the
overhanging pent-up energy inescapable. Next, 'Shimmer' rides on vast, heavy
layered drums that are warm, and comforting as the track travels through a
journey of diverse dub techno elements. Like in 'Loucura', taken from 'Sounds
From The Past II', Lars again showcases his strong influences from Brazilian
and Latin music. On 'Estar Farto', the drums and bass are tightly interwoven,
racing beneath bright and funky synth lines that bring ever-evolving shades
of colour. A jazz drummer himself, the music transports into the groove via
intelligent brass chord progressions and fine-tuned vocal and percussion
elements. It's straight dance floor business on the closing vinyl production
'Bittersweet', with its muted synth smears darting over more macho drum
programming, while digital bonus 'Dusty Lick' is an unrelenting, jazzy,
percussion-driven banger that hits hard and heavy in all the right places.

Recorder now comes with a first solo-EP on the label, in which the producer
reaches back into some deeper, almost trippy states of mind, accompanied by
some ultimately addictive electro grooves. Taste Vaxxer and you will be
inoculated from any bad reproduction or genetic mutations in this forward
thinking approach to electromusic. The first track, "Vaxxer", which
also titles the EP, puts up a warehouse-worthy beat, handing out bass-punches
as it moves along. A rude hi-hat pattern shuffles the groove, and once the
rhythm has you hooked, some lush eerie synth patterns start to emerge
transporting the listener to the rooftop of a skyscraper in a dystopian city.
Next up is "Oxidant", which was written with a close friend in mind
who was going through some difficult times. The strong determination of the
pulsating bass, overlaid by a very emotional melodic element lead you from
contrast to unity, reflecting, pushing forward. "Multiverse" comes
in with a thunderous boom, reminiscent of a huge spaceship landing, which
could be a metaphor for events that land on top of our heads, which we have
no control over and have to deal with. The track introduces an infectious
808-groove, building up, and some chilling synths warp their way straight
into your mind to de-program all the viruses in there and set you free from
any mind-control. Finally, finishing off, is "Shiffty". It lands
straight away with a heart-pounding beat, with bass-bots bouncing, adding an
ultrafunky bass line that will keep your feet moving. Waves of synth bliss
wash over as this groove connects all your individual mind body elements into
a sensory rollercoaster |
