V|kt|ms is the name of the third Vinyl VA trilogy from [R]3volution Records,
after Those Who Dare and [R]3volution H3roes. In the Vol.1 the label owner
Michele Mausi, as well as with his track called Re-Main, hosts 5 great
artists of the scene, each of which is characterized by a unique style and
touch. The EP opens with David Meiser, an eclectic Spanish artist who
recently appeared on [R]3volution with his remix on the Ritzi Lee release.
Another great Spanish artist is Endplate, who also recently appeared on
[R]3volution with his remix in the Arnaud Le Texier release, and with
countless releases behind him on the top labels of the scene such as Warm-Up,
Granulart, Faut Section solo to name a few. Side B opens with Linear System,
another solid French-Spanish artist who certainly needs no introduction, with
several appearances on our label, and then continues with a duo of as many
solid Swedish artists Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell, also 'they
already appeared on our label with a remix of a track by Arnaud Le Texier.
The EP ends with Jon Hussey, a reference artist of the Irish scene. Mastered

The English power trio on the
verge of their US tour. This October show provides the huge impact the band
had on the rock 'n-'roll scene in the late sixties. They were the first super
group, before anyone had even used the term, featuring former members of the
Yardbirds, Manfred Mann, Alexis Korner's Blues Band and John Mayall's
Bluesbreakers. Hit singles such as 'Crossroads' and 'Sunshine of Your Love'
remain relatively faithful to the studio arrangements, but by the time they
dive into the bluesy Willie Dixon standard 'Spoonful', the magic is in full

Taking their cue from the family
singing groups of the 1930s, brothers Ira and Charlie Louvin updated this
sound in the late forties and fifties to become one the greatest duos in the
history of country music. Performing with the Grand Old Opry beginning in
1955 (where they stayed until 1963), this period marked the high point of
their career. During this period they recorded numerous sides, and this 1958
album of pure gospel is one of their best, and also best-known due largely to
the album's over the top artwork and title. But although the album's artwork
is playful (in fact, the Brothers almost burned themselves setting it up),
the message is heartfelt and you don-t have to be a believer to appreciate
the quality of the music contained within |

During the late 1960s, Japanese
band Blues Creation was formed from the ashes of an earlier group, the
Bickles. Beginning as a covers act and then switching to original material,
they had several line-up changes before calling it quits, only to be born again
as Creation in 1973, touring the US with heavyweights Mountain. The
self-titled Creation LP from 1975 saw guitarist Kazuo Takeda and drummer
Masayuki Higuchi intact from the former incarnation. It captures this version
of the band at their freshest with Takeda's excellent guitar work firmly in

Frontman MJ Howells and his
drumming brother Peter Purrfect formed glam-rock band Rockslide in Manchester
in the mid-1970s with bassist Wispa Cundall and guitarist Vic Long but
changed direction after seeing the Sex Pistols: Long was replaced by guitarist
Gus Gangrene and after shifting to London, their new identity was pure punk.
Debut EP Temptations Of A White Collar Worker sold 14,000 copies in short

Machine. It is the ninth release on their label Genosha Basic. The title of
the EP is "Brown for Whatever". The first track is called Just a
Dream. Mention something about it being very dreamy and heavy. The second
track is called Somebody's Cream, which the artists must think is a very
clever title. The first track on the flip-side is called Uncut Scorpion. Say
that it's a bit disappointing that it seems to have no relation to real scorpions
and that given today's climate it should have been called Uncut Lobster. The
final track on the EP is called Liquid Surrender. Write something witty about
it being a total acid face-melter. Say once again how amazing Ghost in the

There was a huge swell of public
approval when the original four Sex Pistols reunited in 1996 for the
six-month Filthy Lucre Tour. The tour included dates in Europe, North and
South America, Australia and Japan and tickets sold out immediately. The Sex
Pistols decided against producing new material for the tour and stuck to the
1976 repertoire which had made them famous. The band were disdainful of the
media attention and were indifferent to any negative comments. This led to

Following
the success of Blasphemy's "Blood Upon the Altar" demo, which was
released in 1989 and ultimately sold more than 2,000 copies, Richard C. of
Wild Rags contacted the band, offering them a contract for their debut album.
In 1990, the Desecraters entered Fiasco Bros. studio to record "Fallen
Angel of Doom" on a meager $2,000 budget. The lineup consisted of
founding members Nocturnal Grave Desecrater and Black Winds on bass and
vocals, 3 Black Hearts of Damnation and Impurity on drums, and guitarist
Caller of the Storms. A second guitarist, Traditional Sodomizer of the
Goddess of Perversity, also known for his work in Witches Hammer, was added
to the lineup prior to the recording, after the band's previous guitarist who
following his adverse reaction to the theft and desecration of a gravestone
in Ross Bay cemetery. Later that same year, the album was released-on red
vinyl in North America and black vinyl in Europe-and immediately set a new
standard of extremity in Black Metal. At the time, Blasphemy had few
contemporaries< virtually no one had a style that was so immediate and
forceful. Blasphemy drew upon the frenzied assault of death and speed metal,
as well as early grindcore acts like Blood and Genocide, but augmented it
with the unbridled evil of Sarcofago, Sodom, and Bathory, yielding a new
virulent strain of Black Metal. The austere appearance of the album and the
music on it, was much like the appearance of the band members depicted on the
back cover> menacing, threatening, and violent. In the nearly three
decades that have passed since its initial release, it remains unsurpassed.
The centrality of this album to the scene that evolved in its shadow cannot
be overstated. As such, NWN! and Ross Bay Cult have endeavored to reissue it
periodically, ensuring that it remains accessible. After having previously
pressed the album in various color and picture disc variations, the labels
sought to present this new edition consistent with the original pressing.
Like the original version, it was manufactured in the U.S. on red and black
vinyl, and the jacket and insert are similar to the first edition, with the
notable exception that the lyrics to the songs "Hording of Evil
Vengeance," "Darkness Prevails," and "The Desolate
Ones," originally omitted from the first pressing, have been included
for this edition |

prepare for "That Who Remembers", Dorisburg (aka Alexander Berg)
and Sebastian Mullaert set up their equipment in Malmo's empty Inkonst venue,
spending several days immersed in its atmosphere, using the lights, smoke
machine, and Soundsystem to create an authentic club environment where they
could freely improvise. The result is a suite of free-flowing sounds that
draws on both artists' backgrounds in reduced techno and ambient music,
sailing thoughtfully through near-future landscapes and punctuating them with
shimmering, kosmische textures, decaying sonic memories, and fragile rhythms.
Not dance music exactly, it's music that instead considers the spirit of an
empty dancefloor, wondering which elements might remain when feet have left
the building entirely. It's hardly surprising that the record is coming via
Donato Dozzy and Neel's adventurous Spazio Disponibile imprint. "We
recorded at full club volume with massive bass, but our references had
gradually shifted to the point where just adding a soft kick drum would feel
like peak-time techno. So even though the final recordings are quite soft and
ambient, the energy we felt during the recording was often quite
intense." |

Who
would be better suited for remixing the Skudge classic? It's not a
far-fetched idea, as we now see the remix 12" of Convolution featuring
Levon Vincent. Classic late 00s Levon Vincent style of rhythm and pace meets
Skudge's hallmark sound. It's been over a decade since Skudge took charge and
urged us to "Give it all up". 'Convolution' forged two distinct
genres while avoiding the trap of losing the attitude of both. The track was
a strong take on Techno and House simultaneously and brought something new
and interesting to the table. Fast forward a decade since this effort marked
the beginning of the Skudge journey, which not only caught the middle ground
between Techno and House but also the ears of fellow producer Levon Vincent.
Levon is a prominent name in the oceanic underwater funk, touching strands
of Dub, Techno, and House. Levon delivers two versions, where the Scream
Version captures the UK sound of anarchistic basslines similar to
'Basemental' from '95, on the A-side. Flipping over to the B-side, one can
hear the 'Convolution' atmosphere echoing between Levon and Skudge
respectively |

repress - After his debut on PoleGroup last year with a track 'Hate' selected
for the compilation release Unknown Landscapes - EP 1, Kwartz makes a proper
return to the label with Form and Void EP. Hailing from Madrid, DJ and
producer Kwartz started his career in 2011 and within fairly a short time he
has developed and refined his own hypnotic, dark and enveloping techno.
Amongst notable releases to date is his first vinyl EP Fenomen (2013), a
joint release with Pole Group artist Exium on their Nheoma imprint. Form and
Void EP features two strong originals and two equally powerful remix supports
from the label mates and core members of Pole Group, Reeko and Exium. The
title track 'Form and Void' kicks off with straight forward 4/4 rhythmic
groove that gradually builds up layer by layer in to the darker shade to meet
the mysterious break, followed by heavy brooding bass tones slashing through
the kick drums, deepening the atmosphere with the hollowing echoes. Reeko's
remix elevates the dark mood of original while pumping in even more energy
with rolling kick/hat combo and psychedelic swirling chaos of synth that
intensifies throughout the entire length of the track. 'Breakage' on the flip
side possess much more hardened groove, pounding out the drums packed with
blinding force. Exium's remix takes the tension-filled doomsday feel of
original to another level and gives a new dimension to the heavy merciless
percussion by adding haunting howling echoes that growls like that of ghosts
combined with more muted drums and subtle layers of stabs of kicks and
effects. Kwartz holds nothing back with Form and Void EP, delving in to the
darkest and deepest realm of subterranean pulses that fit perfectly for the
dance floor with dimmed light and big sound system |

Arguably
one of the most acclaimed and loved bands of the past 20 years, by both fans
and their musical peers alike, The Beta Band formed in St. Andrews, Scotland,
in 1996. Innovative and singular, their unique musical and aesthetic approach
to everything they did set them far apart from their musical contemporaries.
Together for a relatively short period of time, the three albums and three
EPs they released between 1996 and 2004 would nonetheless help define them as
one of the most exciting and cherished bands of their generation. Released in
1999, the album “The Beta Band” followed the critically acclaimed compilation

Tartare' is Dim Garden's debut album on Rotterdam's young label Yarrow
Ballet. This five-track EP embodies both the depths of Hades' underworld and
Helios' realm. The album is a worship of the metaphysical side of nature. The
opening track, 'Cunning Morose' evokes incandescence and sun worship. Its
propulsive 808 beat and lofty vocals conjure flamboyant pagan ceremonies. The
instrumental track 'Golfinho do Rio' is a heroic ode to the infinite sea,

Finding
that luck, love and letting things roll works out for him just fine, Michael
Head leads his Red Elastic Band into a fresh chapter with optimism and some
of the best music of his career, announcing his new, Bill
Ryder-Jones-produced album, Dear Scott will be released on Fri 27 May 2022
via Modern Sky UK. Operating as renewed friends, family and fearless
communicators in sound, Head also leads close-knit band of brothers out on
their first full UK Tour. Taking in cities from Glasgow to Manchester and
beyond to Bristol, Head and The Red Elastic Band complete the forthcoming
tour with two, huge theatre shows, the first at Liverpool’s Eventim Olympia
on Fri 10 June 2022 and the second in London, taking in the O2 Shepherd’s
Bush Empire the following night. Revered by heavyweight songwriting peers and
discovered by new generations of discerning listeners, all enraptured by the
fruits of Head’s winding, 40-year career, the Liverpool singer-songwriter
enters a new age of creativity and collaboration with Dear Scott. Promising
to be a shimmering jewel cast by the minds and hearts of Merseyside’s finest
musicians, the 12-track album is dusted with both Ryder-Jones’ artistry and
the heavyweight musicianship of The Red Elastic Band, which Head found had ‘stepped
up’ following almost a year apart, forcing him to dig deeper himself. Of
slipping back into writing and recording in 2021, Head continues: “After
being apart for a while, I went for a walk on the beach with the band and it
was beautiful, literally and personally. Rehearsals followed and it clicked
into place, with one thing leading to the next. It’s very much the ethos
we’re working by, keeping things simple, but keeping the momentum. I’d met
Bill a few times and he’s a lovely guy. Once we knew he was interested in
producing the album we didn’t need to think about it again, it just
progressed and became a completely natural thing.” Dear Scott refers to
novelist, F. Scott Fitzgerald, whose debt-ridden, down-and-out years captured
the imagination of Head, specifically a postcard Fitzgerald addressed to
himself upon checking in at Hollywood’s infamous Golden Age retreat, The
Garden Of Allah Hotel. Head explains: “A decade after being the king of the
jazz age, Fitzgerald arrived unfashionable and sober, ready to conquer
Hollywood. His agent with a sense of humour booked him into The Garden Of
Allah, where writers, movie stars and even Stravinsky sometimes lived. He
famously picked up a postcard on checking in and addressed it to himself.”
The postcard read: Dear Scott, How are you? Have been meaning to come and see
you. I have living at the Garden Of Allah. Yours Scott Fitzgerald. Head
states that the formation of The Red Elastic Band in 2008 began with ‘whoever
was available at the time’, primarily as a vehicle for live performance,
producing one, previous album in 2017’s Adiós Señor Pussycat. The band has
since developed into a cohesive, mutually-supportive and permanent line-up,
with Phil Murphy on drums, Tom Powell on bass, Danny Murphy on guitars and
Nathaniel Cummins on guitars and backing vocals being the musicians taking on
the world in 2022 alongside Head |

Returning to his home base, Rotterdam based electro-techno
mainstay Conforce presents a heavy pack of angular, experimental approaches
on his latest offering into the Delsin databank. Boris Bunnik's accomplished
machine language has traversed deep and dubby soundscapes with punchy,
club-focused fare alike, since 2010's Grace EP he has found a regular home on
Delsin and it's always exciting to see what he comes up with next. Where
Conforce has commonly housed Bunnik's more melancholic, introspective work,
the sound palette on Sins Of Synthesis is more tipped towards darker
dimensions. The shadow of braindance looms large, guiding the music towards
twitchy pattern manipulation, alien textural design and dissonant harmonics.
Bunnik's signature sense of melody can still be detected around the edges,
from the distant, hazy pads of 'Charlatan' to the lingering chimes of
'Fragile', but this is a pointed new direction for Conforce and it's leading
somewhere very interesting... |

Records continue their exploration into the deeper reaches of electro with an
EP from Berlin based Richard Easel, featuring remixes from close
collaborators Datawave and Federico Leocata. The EP comprises of 3 distinct
styles in one release, Easel with intricate sublimation and experimental
modular sounds of the Buchala. Datawave's remix of Exterreri, with his
trademark spatial depth charged electro and Federico Leocata with his unique
funky-minimal approach, which renders his darkly mysterious sound unlike
Metaphysix underpinning a sound suited to Specimen. Richard Easel is the

Reclaiming
his place on Token with another 12" record, Belgium's Border One
presents 'Light Trail' - an ode to dissonance and drive. With his
recognizable use of dynamic percussion and metallic synth work, he stops at
nothing to provide a sound-system ready record for a busy dancefloor. Opening
the record with a throbbing bassline and a sustained pad, Border One wastes
no time in getting to the point. He begins with leaning on rock solid groove
to space out his ambient elements and stabs, creating a rich atmosphere while
remaining focused on the movement. Transitioning from an intriguingly
subaquatic A1, the needle slides to a more brutal second followup
'Transmute'. Providing a constant and saturated low-end, Border One remains
expressive with his use of his drum machine while keeping a familiar bubbly
main synth. The reduced depth in 'Transmute' is likely due to the tension
coming from his percussive work as opposed to a synth, making it very
efficient for virtually any occasion. As the A2 draws to a close, Border One
dives back into the mind with the other side of the record - starting with
'Radiant'. Shrill tension makes its return over a playful, hypnotic synth
sequence to create a satisfying contrast between crystal and viscous
elements. 'Prism' then closes the record down on a driving jazzy tone,
showing the artist's versatility and understanding of his genre. Dissonant
chord stabs peak out of sometimes busier percussion lines, making it the
perfect way to conclude a dance floor-oriented record |

ugne&maria is the duo project
of Ugne Vyliaudaite and Marija Rasa Kudabaite, both based in Brussels. Their
music is made from a mosaic of samples and carefully triggered field
recordings, in dialogue with Vyliaudaite's violin. Intricate and calming but
far from ambient, in that where ambient music recedes ugne&maria's music
sounds always close to the skin. The compositions are subtle and precise,
setting up a logic and then gently manipulating it or letting it hover for
several minutes. Elements move seamlessly from background to foreground and
then return. Snatches of text or recognisable samples serve as textures
rather than as location markers or figures to which one could reliably

Originally
released as part of Perc's Greed Dance 12" in late 2021 Resistor has
since taken on a life of it's own, receiving plays & support from I Hate
Models, Randomer, Somniac One, Cera Khin, Umwelt, New Frames, Cassie Raptor,
Ghost In The Machine and of course Perc himself. Now Resistor returns with
three brand new remixes, each taking the original mix to entirely new places.
First up is UK underground hero and Skuxx Records main man Tassid delivering
a festival slaying slice of sub heavy UK techno which has been Perc's closing
track at his gigs, including at Awakenings in April, from the moment he heard
it. Next Jensen Interceptor takes a completely differed approach dropping
subtle elements of the original mix of 'Resistor' and a sprinkling of science
fiction samples over a hard jackin' groove sitting perfectly between techno
and electro. Finally Berlin based Wallis, shows why she is leading the new
school of French producers with a gritty industrial groove, with just the
slightest hint of 'Resistor's infamous lead lines breaking through the dirt,
to round off a diverse, yet satisfying remix collection |
