reflected in the soundscape like the sun's glare on the water. "Moot

Our
"New Adventures In Pop" collection came about as a way to give
voice to new artists whose projects captivated Elefant Records (PAPA TOPO,
TRONCO, DIE KATAPULT, AXOLOTES MEXICANOS...). But sometimes, some groups
spread so quickly online and on social networks, and their songs and messages
have such an impact that when their first songs are officially released, they
are already really well known. They've already been applauded by the media
and stalked by the most unconditional fans. Such is the case with Chenta Tsai
Tseng, better known as PUTOCHINOMARICON (CHINK FAG). A migrant originally
from China, he is an architect, a musician, an activist, and a unique,
inimitable character in love with pop culture from recent decades. Interviews
in El País, La Sexta, El Confidencial, FantasticPlastic, Radio 3. Concerts
where the audience goes crazy and songs that are authentic protest anthems
for new generations. These have been his first steps in the music world. Yes,
like we are saying, this is his first record label release, but he has
thousands of views on YouTube and has already given us so much to talk about.
Some places actually say he is an "influencer" because of how
intense his Instagram activity is. Some people will already be gritting their
teeth. That's when PUTOCHINOMARICON rubs his hands together and sharpens his
quill. His thing is to break down preconceptions and along these lines we

it tight and sharp. Oscar Mulero is the mind behind this creature, offering
three cuts of merciless techno exercises both physically and digitally.
Opening track is "Tormenta", Storm in spanish, a fast paced groove
with almost all elements up from the very beginning. Wisely distorted drums,
continuous filtered sequences, a sharp elastic line running and mutating
across the structure. Direct and mental at the time. "Espectro Rojo",
Red spectrum translated begins with obsessive distorted evolving lines,
shuffled hi hats and precise kicks. The stereo field is constantly worked out
augmenting the experience exponentially. "Gradiente de Voltaje"
closes the EP, the overall feel is less distorted and more opaque and lo-fi.
The liquid filtered bassline is soon joined by distorted hats, alternating
patterns and twisting the sounds wisely. No sudden interruptions, no abrupt
changes, just the right dose of hypnosis to use as a powerful tool |

repress - Portuguese maestro Lewis Fautzi drops his 2nd EP on Soma of 2020
with the State Of Pressure EP. As well as two top drawer originals from
Lewis, the EP features two specially commissioned remixes from fellow
Portuguese rising stars Norbak & Temudo, both of whom have featured this
year on Soma to high acclaim. Title track State Of Pressure opens and doesn't
mess about as thumping, driving drums lay the foundation before pure,
hypnotic rhythms begin their descent delivering that typical Fautzi sound.
Norbak's remix of State Of Pressure takes note of the originals hypnotic vibe
offering a deeper and more percussive driven affair. Epidemic Of Wellness has
Fautzi working in darker elements and delivering more tension with his use of
each particular strain of the track, pulsing and modulating perfectly in
sync. Temudo closes out the EP with his remix of Epidemic Of Wellness. Always
focussing on groove and momentum, Temudo goes sub heavy on his version but
retains the dark tones of the original whilst almost adding an Electro-like

Arguably
one of the most acclaimed and loved bands of the past 20 years, by both fans
and their musical peers alike, The Beta Band formed in St. Andrews, Scotland,
in 1996. Innovative and singular, their unique musical and aesthetic approach
to everything they did set them far apart from their musical contemporaries.
Together for a relatively short period of time, the three albums and three
EPs they released between 1996 and 2004 would nonetheless help define them as
one of the most exciting and cherished bands of their generation. After a
short hiatus the band gradually gravitated back into the studio and recruited
noted UK producer Colin Emmanuel, aka C-Swing, to oversee the process of “Hot
Shots II” which was released in mid 2001. Notoriously the band had intended
to release "Squares", which featured a sample from the Günter
Kallmann Choir's 1970 version of Wallace Collection's "Daydream",
as the lead single. However after filming the music video and taking the
single to radio it suddenly transpired that another single "Daydream in
Blue" by I Monster featuring the sample from Günter Kallmann Choir
recording was also to be released at the same time causing the band to
release "Broke" instead. Touring extensively and supporting
Radiohead in August 2002, they made No. 3 on Q magazine's list of "50
Bands to See Before You Die" |

soundtrack of Sudan's revolution and the first ever international release of
the Beja sound, performed by Noori and his Dorpa Band, an unheard outfit from
Port Sudan, a city on the Red Sea coast in eastern Sudan and the heart of
Beja culture. Beja Power! is a living archive of the finest, most heartfelt
Beja songs—a six-track portal to another time and place, of melodies long
forgotten and never before interpreted by an electric and brass-driven
ensemble. Few older Beja recordings were produced. Even fewer, if any,
remain. Electric soul, blues, jazz, rock, surf, even hints of country, speak
fluently to styles and chords that could be Tuareg, Ethiopian, Peruvian or
Thai—all grounded by hypnotic Sudanese grooves, Naji's impeccable, airy tenor
sax, and of course, Noori's tambo-guitar, a self-made unique hybrid of an
electric guitar and an electric tambour, a four-string instrument found
across East Africa. A truly ancient community, Beja trace their ancestry back
millennia. Some say they are among the living descendants of Ancient Egypt
and the Kingdom of Kush. They are even depicted in the hieroglyphics. Beja
melodies—nostalgic, hopeful and sweet, ambiguous and honest—are thousands of
years old. Yet their sounds are also reminiscent of Dick Dale's 1963
"Misirlou" and jazz great Charlie Rouse's 1968 "Meci Bon
Dieu". This album could be 6,000 years, 60 years, or 6 months old. Along
with his Dorpa Band, formed in 2006, Noori's instrumental Beja music forms
the latest link in an unbroken chain of an inherited, arresting sound that is
local as it is global, a gift of a storied past and the exchanges of the
well-traveled Red Sea. Ostinato Records is honored to bring the nearly

dance music project of Pepper Gomez and Tom O’Callahan. Spanning from 1984 to
1986, the groups development is in sync with the dance music scene of Chicago
during that era. While their first record „Pushin’ Too Hard“ is a Windy City
version of the NYC club music of the time and its European cross-pollination,
„Electric Baile“ from two years later down the line is almost a quantum jump
into house music. With the engineering help of Matt Warren, it bears the
marks of Ron Hardy, Chip E, Farley Jackmaster Funk or the WBMX dance party
craze, if you will. Here you have remastered and updated versions by Enzo
Elia and Gerd Janson. The first ones’ edit attempt of „Electric Baile“ ignited
this edition. A custom-tailored main mix is completed by a dub and useful
bonus beat version to do, what DJs used to do. Concluded by two edits of
„Pushin’ Too Hard“ by GJ, you get two great slices of yesterday that are

the digital age, words are no longer just symbols of communication, but a
powerful tool that gives rise to meaningful interconnections between
different universes. Words have the power to transcend time and space,
connecting two souls destined to meet. Il Significato delle Parole (the
meaning of words) is Adiel's new effort on her DanzaTribale, a crossover of
two minds, generated together with musician Flavio Accorinti: techno sounds
like the restless soul that pervades our days, deconstructed atmospheres like
shattered generational dreams. The fusion of two cosmic currents, two ways of
thinking and creating, characterized by an immanent power, pushing us to
imagine new urban primitivism. Two creative processes, transcending
individual boundaries to connect into a single overarching vision, to explore
new forms of art and storytelling. The EP, mixed by Donato Dozzy and mastered
at Rome's Enisslab Studio by Giuseppe Tillieci, starts with Nulla Resta, a
defragmented, dreamlike, ascending climax markedly cyberpunk: dense with
references to 90s Progressive Dream, Nulla Resta, with its dulcet melodies,
transports us to an artificial reality, a spiritual reality albeit dominated
by technology. A reality suspended between fantasy and materialism. Suspended,
like the second track (Sospesa): dark trip-hop's echoes adorned by the voice
of Jordie Devlin Mcmorrow. "Shadows on the walls orchestrate our
downfall." Dystopian futures intertwine with mysteriously dreamy pasts
in a fatal spiral of redemption. But words remain the catalysing element of
this EP. Parole(words) represents a communicative rare faction that embraces
tribes near and far. Black drums echo in the distance in an intimate ballad,
in an epic ride, in an ethereal metaphysical journey to the dissolution of
the boundary between time and space, between memory and perception. Notturna,
on the other hand, is the epilogue we all deserve; a solemn twilight, a
lysergic, dragging escape from the objectivity of the real world. The images
of life do not simply exist in a vacuum. They are defined by the energy that
surrounds them, and it is the explanation behind each of these words that we
must find if weare to truly understand them. Thanks to the meaning of words,

upbringing and his stance on British life – this self-titled follow up, TYRON
is a melodic dive through the expansive landscape of his feelings. His ability

soundtrack from the animated TV series 'Professor Balthazar' (1967 - 1978) by
Tomislav Simovic. Gatefold LP, cut from the original master tapes, liner
notes by Zeljko Luketic and exclusive graphics by Boris Stapic. Master tapes
were considered lost; now found and restored for this unique release
celebrating Yugoslavia's biggest cartoon export of the times. Professor
Balthazar was filmed from 1967 to 1978 in Zagreb. It was a huge international
success: from large fan base in Scandinavia to broadcasting on USA television
and countries like Germany, Italy, UK, France and even Iran. It's still aired
on various TV programs and video platforms. Animation style and content is
widely praised for being one of the rare cartoons that does not feature any
kind of violence or aggression. The character of Professor Balthazar solves
problems in a peaceful way. He uses his inventions and science to help his
friends. Distinctive visual influence is a crossover of bright, psychedelic
colors, weird shapes and naive art, typical for Zagreb School of Animated
Film. This soundtrack is mastered from original tapes, composed and conducted
by Tomislav Simovic. The music is busy, playful and mixes influences of jazz,
modern classical and even electronica. Fox & His Friends Records, also
the curators of the largest ever multimedia exhibition on Professor Balthazar
series in Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka as a part of the
European Capital of Culture program in 2020, present the masters without any
interventions in sound. This album cut includes longer rare version of main
credits, made exclusively for Zagrebfilmijada, an event of public screenings
of Professor Balthazar and other cartoons in cinemas in 1970's Yugoslavia |

the realms of electro. The Dutch West Coast, home of the Hague, where Cliff
Dalton resides, the home of a new producer for Specimen Records 2021.
Although not new to the world of producing with several years recording and
playing in studios, his attention to de- tail has helped him develop a retro
mapping onto his perception of the future. Possibly influenced by Underground
Resistance and Drexciya. The accomplishment becomes a metaphor for any small
group of people who are battling against a system. The album is an
observation of what's happening right now around us. Our interaction with
technology and media pervasion and the rise of cybernetics, in a world
dominated by corporate ideals. It's only since mid-2020, halfway the first
Covid-19 lockdown, when Cliff Dalton decided to start producing his own brand
of electro. Cliff is not new to producing; he has several years of experience
in recording and playing in studios. He lives in The Hague, also known as the
Dutch West Coast, and there are certainly traces of that typical West Coast
sound to be found in his music. with his love eighties, soundtracks and he
draws inspiration from all those crazy sounds from the past and blend them
together into something new. While there is always a dance-floor in the back
of his head he is always trying to make it all melodic. Something that stands
out is the conceptual way in which Cliff likes to work. All his music does
have a strong influence on the mechanical, the robotic, and a dark future
vision to bind it all together. All these elements are used to create dense
atmospheric soundscapes. Cliff himself functions as an interface between
harsh reality and pure fiction while channeling any deep and hidden fantasies
into the world of electro by moving air particles. A conceptual way of
looking at things and the world around you lies deep into the music. His
first releases was available on Specimen Records in early 2021 |

Mysterious
project recorded in Berlin in 2018, a shadowy collective brings a collection
of cold synths, ominous tones and analog drum machines. Various Positions
exist as the collective vision by five anonymous artists. On 'Irrational
Flashbacks', Various Positions have created a unique atmosphere likened to
the the reverberation of a gunshot ricocheting through city streets though
while still maintaining the impact of a hollow point bullet absorbed into the
chest; a resounding testament to the artists' ethos towards the obliteration
of identity and their self imposed state of obscurity." A1. ROMANTIC V-
Synth washes float over delayed drums with a splashing snare and vocals awash
in effects. An analog bassline sets the tone for lush, nostalgic and somber
synth pads . A reflective melody appears in and out throughout the track as
well as interplay of a tamborine and a clap. A2. KOTTBUSSER DAMM 32-
Dancefloor tempo begins with percussive synths and analog drum sounds in
syncopation underneath delayed vocals. A bassline dances with the other
elements with variations throughout. The percussion continues to evolve as
another synth layer comes in to bring the elements together. B1. TECHNICAL
TERROR- Slow and heavy, effect laden electronics lay the foundation for a
guitar that variates between a melody and one off riffs. Percussion, snares
and background vocals shift throughout. B2. 7th HARDCORE DIVISION- Opens with
a sinister and textured bassline over a delayed kick. An echoed vocal stab
appears over the layers of drum machines along with eerie synths. Another
rhythmic FM like synth comes in and out to add another element of tension as
the vocals appear from the background B3. WITCH'S MIRROR- A drumbreak and a
saturated pad set the tone for an apocalyptic vocal followed by a disquieting
bassline. Develops into foreboding combination of delayed snares and sounds
cutting through the menacing atmosphere |

In
a world increasingly under the sway of algorithms and the advent of AI,
potentially signaling an epochal moment as important as the Industrial
Revolution, Micron Audio releases the next in its series of forward-thinking
electronic music: BOTS by Belgium's 6SISS. Much as early electro was driven
by the twin influence of the rhythm of the factories of Detroit and a bold
imagining of life beyond (or below) our world, BOTS takes its cues from the
ideas and concepts surrounding our potential near-future such as Machine
Learning and Natural Language Processing. At times the music swirls with
sounds that bring to mind nascent intelligence slowly working out its
purpose, albeit an intelligence alien to that found in animals. In other
moments the rhythm shudders and shakes like the microsecond
"thoughts" of an AI slowed down infinitesimally, overlaid with
speech manipulated into sounds completely unrecognizable yet strangely
familiar, like listening in to a conversation between two programs. Released
on 12" record and, more fittingly, digital, BOTS returns electro to its
roots in envisioning the future whilst freeing itself from the paradigm of
the genre's past to create a soundtrack of the AI world; a view beyond the

Reformed
Society joins the roster of Brussel's, Belgium's Basic Moves this June with a
2x12'' EP, comprising six original compositions from the New Delhi born now
Barcelona based artist. After many years sharing music, Basic Moves boss
Walrus welcomes Indian artist Harsh Puri onto the imprint for a special
double pack vinyl release. The material was gradually reduced down to the six
compositions that make up BM19 after received over a hundred demo tracks from
Harsh the past few years. Much of the release is inspired by UK tech house of
the late nineties and the turn of the millennium and embraces a heads down,
dance floor focused aesthetic throughout. Opening the release is 'Constant
State Of Hustle', perfectly setting the tone with an amalgamation of bubbling
synthesizer tones, a choppy bass groove, sporadic pads and a heavily swung
drum groove. 'Touch' then shifts focus over to fluttering stab sequences,
bright chords, airy strings and a crunchy rhythm section before 'Hammer The
Keys' embraces the core essence of the early Tech House sound, fusing organic
percussion with multilayered machine funk melodies, all infused with an
underlying acid feel. Next up is 'Hug Pit' which dives into deep realms via
ethereal, cinematic pad textures, wandering resonant synth lines and shuffled
drums. The aptly named 'Adrenaline Rush' follows next, picking up the pace
again courtesy of a gnarly bass melody, squelchy synth tones and a robust
drum machine workout. 'Dream Shuttle' then rounds out the release, employing
hazy atmospheric textures and a bumpy bass groove alongside dynamic, crisp
drums |

Perception imprint with her Deformation EP, a diverse collection of playfully

partner was working on at the time, ultimately imbuing the music with an

approach. A parallel rail to Side A, with a more furious, still gloomy

Desbert Jonhson aka CHEZIDEK was
born on June 20th 1973 in Jamaica. He started singing at school concerts and
became a member of and became a member of the St Ann's Bay Marching Band.
Since 2002, and his first album Harvest Time released on the Xterminator
label, Chezidek has continued to grow. Author of several hits, "Leave
The Trees" (2004), "Call Pon Dem" (2007), "Bun Di
Ganja" (2008) or the inevitable "All My Life" (2013) which
totalizes nearly 40 million views on YouTube, the Jamaican native of St Ann's
Bay has worked with big names in reggae. From the veterans Sly & Robbie
to the more contemporary Capleton, Lutan Fyah or Mark Wonder. The release in
2007 of his 4th opus Inna Di Road on Greensleeves will open the doors of
prestigious scenes, from Jamaica to the United States through Europe. One of
his tracks is even featured in the famous video game GTA |
