ABHOR are a veritable institution
of Italian black metal. Formed in 1995 in the northeast of Italy, the band
began with a passion for black metal music and the study of esoteric arts.
Less like a band and more like a congregation, ABHOR represent a form of
global art that embraces musical art, visual art, and literal art. Their
first musical manifestation came in 1998, with the first demo tape In Tuo
Honori Preparatum. From there, ABHOR were off and running, subsequently
releasing six albums with a variety of labels, doing honorable underground
work. Within their ranks came many musicians, including members of
compatriots Evol. But, arguably, ABHOR reached their apotheosis with their
seventh album *and first for current label home IRON BONEHEAD(, Occulta

We celebrate 30 years of a drum
machine that changed the history of music, of creating and projecting our
musical dreams. In the first edition of OBLIVIUM RECORDS, the friends Nicola
Brusegan & Camilo Gil, part of the worldwide agency SUENA, use the best
of their creativity, together with the Mc and Poet from Chile Tea Time
(Perlon - Cadenza), to create a piece and three remixes of electronic music

maker Lewis Fautzi is here again with his very own recipe about how the music
of the future should sound like. His style has evolved to harsher territories
lately, with distortion appearing as one of the main components here. First
cut "Induced Pulse" is a broken groove exercise, with pounding
kicks and vocal samples providing the introduction while obscure components
join the march as the minutes go. "Undirected Differential" goes
straight to the point from the beginning, with obsessive sequences running
across a solid paced rhythm. The synth line evolves continuously, changing
the filter frequency, mutating and constantly changing. The B-side opens with
"Intense Mechanism", in a galactic mood with one bar arpeggiated
sounds, modulated wisely running over a blurred and distorted drum line. Last
slice is "Stimulated Desorption", again hypnosis and repetition as
leitmotiv with similar sound components as the previous one but with a more
shuffled drum approach |

A
collection of unreleased themes and scores from 18 short animated films from
the world famous Zagreb School Of Animated Film. Includes Oscar winning short
cartoon Ersatz / Surogat by Dusan Vukotic (1961) and many other jazz,
electronica and experimental scores by composer Tomislav Simovic. Coined by
the famed film theorist Georges Sadoul at the 1959 Cannes Festival, The
Zagreb School of Animated Film(s) or The Zagreb School of Animation, was
defined as an artistic and philosophical world-view that set its mark on the
history of animation in the 60's and 70's. The key feature of the Zagreb
School (not educational facility in any kind), was commitment to stylization
in contrast with the Disney-style canon of realistic animation. Among many
composers that worked in Zagreb Film productions, the name of Tomislav
Simovic (1931 - 2014) stands out. In his oeuvre of 300+ film scores (not
counting compositions and arrangements for pop singers and jazz orchestras),
many were made exclusively for Zagreb film documentaries, fiction shorts,
features and animation. Simovic was particularly adept at writing music for
cartoons. He skillfully synchronized movement and sound and mixed different
musical genres, although, like his peers at the time, he leaned towards jazz.
'The Zagreb School of Animated Film (Original Soundtracks 1961-1982)' is
compiled by Leri Ahel (Mutant Disco Radio Show) and Zeljko Luketic
(Electronic Jugoton, Ex-Yu Electronica III). Master tapes were considered
lost, now found and restored for this epic 2 x LP release celebrating
Yugoslavia's animated art shorts. Double vinyl gatefold with extensive liner

Escuela Moderna launches with a retrospective revisiting the UK electro and
breaks scene at the turn of the millennium. A double album featuring eight
tracks, Tactical Shifts covers the years 1995 - 2003, presenting a vibrant
era celebrating the creativity and innovation that characterised this pivotal
era in British electronic music. The compilation opens with the starry-eyed
Ayemooth, an early transmission from The Wee Paton (The Wee Djs, Distorto).
Followed up by The Illistines channelling the free spirited Castlemorton
festival. Re-Incarnated sees the trio composed by Keith Tenniswood
(Radioactive Man, Two Lone Swordsmen) Jim Foster and Dave Appleton on a
percussive funk roll. Opening the B-side, System UCS (Neil Keating and Harold
Slater) provide a growling electro track with Memory Trace, first released on
Break/Flow. The first record closes with a rugged breakbeat number by Milo
Smee AKA Kruton. Rag and Bone co-founder NoYeahNo opens the B-side with the
rollicking Pushing Percussion, an early entry in the seminal label. Nick
Philphin and John O'Donnell's Orphic project brings the relentless beat
science of Obvious Intruder. Lunar builds momentum with the bleepy breaks of
Orbiting Ganymede and Phil Holmberg AKA Schematix wraps up the comp with the
sinuous pads of Magnum Six |

Parand is a Berlin-based
producer, and at an early age, she developed her passion and taste for music.
While her musical roots are grounded in classical piano training, her broad
influences and obsession with electronic beats led her to experiment with DJing
and producing what could be considered a unique style of electro with
experimental sound shapes, infused with dark basslines and beats. This is
Parand's debut project for Specimen, and here we welcome the concept of
events based around Area 51. This has always created controversy and
conspiracy as a covert space for experimenting on extraterrestrial aliens. We
can only imagine the horrors of human endeavor to probe the inner bodies as a
means of developing advanced technology. Albeit, driven by fear and paranoia
as a means of conquering outer space. Alen species remain a puzzle they are

The
Bebble Rock virtuoso Kabaka Pyramid released his sophomore album, 'The
Kalling,' produced by Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley. The fifteen-track masterpiece
features some of the reggae icon's most frequent collaborators like Damian
Marley, Protoje, Black Am I, Jesse Royal, and new collaborators like Buju
Banton and Stephen Marley. This second installment in Kabaka's album
discography is a symphony of songs that make a musical statement about the
evolution of his craft. The name "Kabaka" is Ugandan for
"King." The long-lasting survival of the Pyramids of ancient Africa
represent his desire for longevity in music and deep connection to Kemetic
roots; leaving messages for generations to come. He is known for songs like
Warrior, Well Done which focused keenly on local systemic issues and Reggae
Music that took on a life of its own. His debut album Kontraband was met with
critical acclaim, containing hits such as Kontraband featuring Damian Marley
and Kaught Up with a popular music video that debuted on BET. His recent
singles: Make Things Work and Red, Gold and Green, featuring Damian Marley,
Grateful, featuring Jemere Morgan, and the title track The Kalling, featuring
Stephen Marley, were the four leads for this new album. The album features
production from Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Young Pow and Kabaka Pyramid,
another tradition carried over from the previous album. Providing a
sufficient platform for Kabaka to update listeners about his growth since his
first album. The production highlights the richness of Reggae music, from the
keen perfection of percussion and bass to the sampling of iconic songs of
Junior Byles in Faded Away, featuring Buju Banton; Peter Tosh in Mystic Man;
or Eddie Fitzroy in EZ Ride. "The Kalling is really about my journey in
music being for a higher purpose, not just to get rich or popular, but to
inspire a higher vibration in whoever listens" says Kabaka Pyramid.
"While the majority seek pleasure and sense gratification, there are a
few who the Most High kall [sic] upon to keep the balance inna [sic] earth.
Music is what I use to answer the kall and you can feel it throughout this

When
HOT MULLIGAN took to social media to declare themselves #1 Hot New Band, it
would have been easy to write off the terminally online emo quartet’s
proclamation as yet another irreverent entry into their bag of tricks. But it
turns out Hot Mulligan have a way of manifesting things into existence,
whether it’s name-dropping Michelle Branch and Mark Hoppus in song titles and
netting responses from both (only one got the joke) or, true to their word,

Deejay Jah Thomas was one of the
creative figures making a dramatic impact on the Kingston sound system scene
of the late 1970s and early 80s, the rhythms he laid at Channel One studio
with the Roots Radics helping to steer reggae towards the emerging dancehall
style. Voicing and mixing his work at King Tubby's studio, typically with the
young upstart engineer known as Scientist, Thomas was another champion in the
realm of dub, his re-makes of vintage Studio One and Treasure Isle rhythms

the Dog Meat Records Australia and comprising the powertrio lineup of Tim Hemensley,
TJ Ray and John Nolan, the band at this point were an absolutely unstoppable
force, a powerhouse comparable to the finest moments from the MC5, Motörhead
and Black Flag. Featuring 10 original tracks from the band, this is often
considered the group's finest recorded moment, and one which has been out of

moniker for his latest project to push technical limitations and challenge
perceptions; classic Brinkmann agendas. Mele is Italian for Apples, and with

of this music, invoking what he terms Apple Incest, apropos the controversy

here for the Seduction ep is simply brilliant music regardless of the

the artist not the tools that establishes the greatness of the work.. Those

Brinkmann is not attempting to change opinions, instead he is asking us to

The hybridised nature of modern
dub-rooted club music continues to define Delsin's Mantis series continues to
platform hybridised variations on modernist soundsystem music with the
arrival of RVSHES, the production partnership from Logos (James Parker) and
DB1 (Dylan Brownsword). On Mantis 12 they their precision-tooled drum
pressure is being applied to six exacting studies in rig-ready rhythm and
repetition. There's a spartan, cyclical nature to the work they carry out,
setting up a sturdy beat set to non-standard timings and teasing it out over
an extended run time, but they also exercise a keen sense of infinitesimal
progression, edging their tracks past DJ tool territory into a more
captivating headspace. Maintaining the immersive atmospherics of the Mantis
series to date, theirs is a sharply focused sound which sits at the
intersection of tough minimal techno and polyrhythmic broken beat, positively

The third release on The Magic
Movement features the label's A&R Noema from Berlin.
"Antipodes" starts off with a funky bass-line, trippy bells and
syncopated claps which set an psychedelic Afro vibe from the very beginning.
Mystical noises increase this mood, till a hypnotising Moog hook calls for
action. And at the latest when the sub bass finally drops in, the scenery
transforms into an ecstatic ritual dance. On the flipside you'll find Aunti
Flo's remix with a a more dubby feel of the title track. A spheric choir pad
unfolds over strong Afro percussions, while a rattle snake like shaker
excitedly rises and falls. "Late at Night" feels like a nocturnal
walk through streets in twilight. The Groove, which sounds like odd clockwork,
gets occasionally enhanced by more interesting percussion sounds. The
melodies, played by a Marimba-like instrument and filtered synth, is
accompanied by a warm pad and a disco bassline, whilst a female voice moans
in the back |

Mike Parker is one of underground
Techno's most vital luminaires. His hypnotic aqua-pulsing, live hardware
approach has undeniably influenced the direction of Techno since the late
90's and spurned some of the genre's definitive tracks. Sabre-Tooth sees Mike
Parker arrive on Samurai with 4 tracks that follow on from his essential
Devils Curators series for Donato Dozzy & Neel's Spazio Disponible label
where he unveiled his initial experiments with the 85/170 BPM tempo.
Sabre-Tooth is a stylistic re-calibration of Mikes's machine funk hinted at
with his remix of Presha's Mainliner in 2022 but previously unheard in
stand-alone tracks. Steadfast cyber-rhythms, precision percussion, and
trademark oscillating analogue waves are the magic ingredients on each track.
