Originally released in 1995 and
long out of print, "Oddities, Abnormalities & Curiosities" is
the sixth and final studio album by the almighty Circle Jerks. It was also
the first and last album the band recorded for a major label before splitting
up (for the second time after their 1989 split) and showed them in top punk
rock shape> with short, energetic explosions in the vein of their classic
hardcore hits mixed up with "poppier" touches like the ones on
their amazing cover of the Soft Boy's gem "I wanna destroy you". A
magnificent effort by a classic band that never lost their magic touch,
"Oddities, Abnormalities & Curiosities" is well worth
rediscovering after all this years |

In
1982, D.O.A. was ready to record a new album on the heels of their first two
alums> Something Better Change and Hardcore '81, which are still both
musical landmarks to this day. But their legendary line up had changed, as
Randy Rampage was ousted from the band. Chuck Biscuits' older brother Dimwit
Biscuits stepped in on bass with Chuck still on drums, Joey Shithead on
vocals and guitar and Dave Gregg on guitar. While this line up only lasted
for three months, the band traveled to L.A. and recorded demos at Mystic
Studios. Eventually Chuck quit, Dimwit took over on drums and Wimpy Roy
became the bassist. So, as a grand way of celebrating the 40th Anniversary of
War On 45, which many a critic and fan hailed as one of the most innovative
albums of its time and on a par, quality wise with their first two albums.
Sudden Death decided to add some bonus matterial. First off, now included is
a 12-page booklet of unique photos, posters and an extensive history of
D.O.A. at that time, written by Canada's godfather of punk Joey Shithead.
Also, All eight tracks from the War On 45 1982 release are on side A and
seven tracks from the pre-War On 45 demos that were recorded at Mystic onto
Side B. So one has the Montgomery brothers: Biscuits and Dimwit, two of the
greatest drummers of all time on the same LP. All in all, this album will hit
one hard, the way D.O.A. always has and it sums up one the best eras of these
world renowned punk pioneers |

Originally
released in 2005, "Tryshasla" is the second "Perennial"
series release and was the second studio album by Dutch producer Secede. This
classic album is one of our favourites and we are enormously proud to be able
to reissue it on vinyl for the first time. Lennard van der Last, better known
in electronic music circles as Secede, has always remained an elusive
character, preferring to prioritise to his work in the studio. Although
"Tryshasla" is unanimously heralded as his finest work, throughout
his career Lennard has continually demonstrated his unique ability in
producing venerated musical pieces. Upon its original release on CD by Dutch
label Sending Orbs, "Tryshasla" immediately became a benchmark album
and featured in many independent lists of that year. Lapsus Records is
bestowed with the honour of pressing this masterpiece in a collector format:
a double tricolor vinyl pack, remastered by Xavier Alarc?n and accompanied by
a lithographic original art print from illustrator Jeroen Advocaat.
"Tyshasla" continues to sound as current and relevant as ever. It
is an album with a powerful ambient spirit, replete with micro-passages in
which field recordings and piano phrasing form its core sound, but which also
include styles such as IDM, drum and bass and even trip-hop. As if this were
not enough, Reimer Eising -aka our beloved label contributor Kettel-
collaborates on one of the albums integral tracks, "Leraine" |

Dublin
musician and producer Daniel Jacobson aka ZOiD makes his debut on Winthorpe
with 4 tracks of intricate melodies over jazz chords powered by eurorack drum
modules and tb303 sequencing. The Pin Row Acid EP is the latest release from
the Dublin techno-electro stalwart whose roots stretch back to the 90's.
Introduced to techno by two DJs who lived in his neighbourhood, he hooked up
with the cities legendary D1 label recording tracks in their studio and
forming his own label - Diatribe - where he released the his debut 12"
-Subinersoll EP. 3 albums and several EP's later he follows up last years
release on Dan Curtin's Metamorphic label with the first Winthorpe proper of
23. Kicking off proceedings with the MC-202 bounce of "2-oh-Techno"
a short, snappy and break neck schizoid funky opener followed by the jazz
chord progression of "Winthorpe Acrid". The baleriac pads of
"Sunrise Acid" kick off the B side with extra grit added for good
measure and the EP closes out with the exercise in chord sequencing that is
"Megajazz Acidchops", an opus that's been forming in his head for
some time |

Wrecks recruits the Brooklyn based producer Gee Dee to it's ranks. Gee Dee
aka Greg Droggitis turns in a wonderful and fully fledged collection of
tracks that burst to the brim with atmosphere and sunny vibrations. True to
the label's ethos, the music is as always, hard to pin down under one
specific genre but instead slyly calls on various classic House, Electro and
Acid tropes. The overall sound is one that is both universal and
transcendent, feeling familiar but still surprising. 'Dream In Colour' is
indeed an apt title for the EP as it spans the musical spectrum and is a
lucid and vivid trip into the imagination of this new and exciting producer |

Indonesian
City Sound: Panbers’ Psychedelic Rock and Funk 1971-1974. The Pandjaitan
Brothers or Panbers came from the North Sumatra minority Christian group, the
Bataks, whose ancestry traces back to an island at the center of Lake Toba.
As a minority group within Indonesia's Muslim-dominated society, this ethnic
minority has produced top military generals, celebrity lawyers, and a legion
of pop and rock superstars. Suffice to say, some of the biggest names in the
country's pop history were Bataks. Panbers fit the bill perfectly. The band's
strong Christianity belief looms heavily in the music they produce. The
prominent use of the Hammond organ in their early materials is evocative of
church music the band members have been around in their whole life.
Bandleader Benny Pandjaitan's fills his characteristic wail with existential
dread, with many utterances of the word "mengapa" (why). Guilt is
another central theme Pandjaitan repeatedly comes back to in his lyrics. But
they balance it with joy, on songs such as "Come on You Dance"
"Let's Dance Together" or "Haai" (a play on the word
high), where references to recreational substances are plentiful. Although
they modeled themselves after the era's rock bands Beatles and fellow
countrymen Koes Plus, Panbers had a unique aversion to the electric guitar.
In "Jakarta City Sound," a fiery three-note guitar solo is laid so
far down in the mix that they are barely audible. In "Haai" they
modify the guitar to sound like a jungle instrument playing traditional North
Sumatran music. In "Rock and the Sea," arguably their most
well-known song globally, they decided to ditch electric guitar altogether
and replace it with a sitar. In the absence of an electric guitar, Panbers
had to rely on Doan's inventive bass playing and Asido's drum works to do the
heavy lifting - and boy, do they deliver (Their 1971 debut "Volume
1" saw plenty of drum breaks). In this compilation, listeners will hear
recordings from Panbers' fertile four-year period - a time that produced in
some of the grooviest and hardest-sounding psychedelic music in Indonesia's
rock history. For those uninitiated on the glory Panbers, consider this
compilation an introduction to some of earliest and heaviest rock sound to
come out of Indonesia |

Macht
Macht Zement - what does it mean? 80s drums, synths and vocals, almost
without context. Fallbeil, two soon-to-be men (aka boys), finish tracks at
the rate of butchers kneading meatballs. Due to laziness and a lack of
technique, everything gets recorded on one track and immediately thrown into
the frier. Nothing is planned. First up, school detention followed by rough
LoFi rap. The album contains a wide variety of themes from mailmen to
warthogs, from latecomers to sensible conversation, every track is created
out of spontaneity. Two very short tracks on this album date back to 1999,
when the boys performed as 'Funky Granatos' in the local youth centers.
Sadly, their performances weren't successful. Nobody wanted to listen to them
and almost every concert ended in mass brawls. The track Postman comes from
the duos side project Grand Malheur and was recorded in 2015 in Bronxfeld.
More output from this project will appear on various EPs in the near future.
The album title Macht Macht Zement originates from Tom Potgen. Tom always
wanted to throw the sacred hand grenades. We hope he does that right now! |

For
Frenzy's third release, and the first solo release, the Uruguay-based William
Arist is introducing us to his world of 'tribal techno'. Hailing from the
city of Montevideo, this Southern-American-born artist already is a talent to
watch overseas. Through their like-minded vision of electronic music, William
bonded strongly with our Amsterdam-based Frenzy crew over the last couple of
years. This warm connection evolved into Frenzy 03 - showcasing pure dance
floor eclecticism that only William can deliver, including two remixes by no
other than VIL and rising star Kenji Hina aka Alarico. The A side instantly
kicks off at full good vibe-throttle with two productions that reminisce
about those iconic Love Parade moments during the very first days of rave
culture. Balancing on the edge of house and techno, 'Chaka Chaka' loops the
listener into a straight sense of movement. With rhythmic drums and uplifting
vocals, 'Days' feels like stepping into an after hour dance-floor at the
beach while the morning sun rises through the exotic vegetation. On the B
side, William leans towards a more hypnotic sound. With a great tempo and a
dark yet subtle mood, 'Tero' sets the tone for those murky clubbing moments
where the boundaries dissolve and bodies merge. Slowly climbing out of the
deep, 'Gultural' stays on the same energy level while adding dubby hints and
a taste of freshness. To top it off, the release is provided with two remixes
that leave no room for interpretation. Portuguese producer VIL turned 'Chaka Chaka'
into a true peak-hour beast while Italian multi-talent Alarico shows his

Island
Issues is a new umbrella label from Patrick Luca that becomes a parent to
Saft, Pulp and Born. It debuts with an EP featuring fresh new versions of
Joan Bibiloni Band's classic 'Valerie' by Kiko Navarro & Willie Graff.
Spanish guitarist Joan Bibioni was something of a child musical prodigy who
started creating from a young age. He put out a wealth of albums under his
own name and just one as Joan Bibiloni Band, 1986's 'Papi, Are You O.K.?'. It
is from that record from which 'Valerie' is taken and it is something of a
cult underground gem that adds warm and sunny jazz, funk and disco to any
party. This package brings together veteran musical maestro Kiko Navarro, who
has played all over the world, hosted influential radio shows and released a
wide array of music over the last 20+ years, with Ibiza's Willie Graff, a
resident at Pacha and respected producer for labels like Music for Dreams and
Freerange. First up is their brilliant Boogie Explosion Mix which is full of
energy and hip-swinging grooves. Layers of tropical percussion are lively and
organic, with withering synths, big horns and iconic vocals exploding up top.
Key solos, tight guitar riffs and big claps all add further fire and colour
to this summer heater. The JB Edit is by the man himself and finds Joan going
heavy on funky bass guitar twangs and vividly expressive trumpets as the
soaring vocals and big drum breaks work the floor into a lather in a more raw
and direct fashion. Next comes the Entre Islas Club Mix which is smooth and
deep for those moments when the sun is setting and the daytime atmosphere
gets more late night and sultry. The percussion is slick and the chords are
muted but joyful as the analog drums bring nostalgic 80s feelings. Last of
all is an Entre Islas Dub which strips things back to the seductive house
groove and teases with the jazzy keys, shakers and proto-garage house drums
all oozing effortless cool. This is a fantastic first release from Island
Issues that is sure to bring sun-kissed good times to global dance floors
this summer and beyond |

Berlin-based
artist Werner Soyeaux under his stage name Black Davil is a core part of the
Berlin collective Ick Mach Welle. Schnall Schnall is his debut solo artist EP
on Killekill, with own productions accompanied by collaborations with Bettina
and DJ Normal 4, alongside remixes by Rhyw and Gesloten Cirkel. The EP opens
with the dark intro Alptraum, which Gesloten Cirkel transforms into an
ill-tempered acid-electro monster. The title track Schnall Schnall provides a
stark contrast to these, with bright overtones existing alongside deeply
rooted sonic bedrock. Rhyw adds a level of abstraction and futurism with his
remix of this track, whilst retaining the dub-influenced vibe of the
original. Following on from this Geldschere is collaboration with Dusseldorf
artist DJ Normal 4, with Black Davil contributing his own lyrics and voice,
to create a track that could be fittingly described as "Acid Punk
Rock"! The final track on the release is a cheeky ode to the Ick Mach
Welle family. Here the Davil's passion for Hardtekk, Gabber and similar rough

KRAKE
is an annual Berlin based festival for challenging electronic music. Krake
means 'octo-pus' and the festival is organized in a comparable way: reaching
out to selected locations during one week presenting the best in electronic
music whatever style it is. The festival is not huge, not expensive, does not
have big sponsoring deals or four different colour are passes. It's just a
good and so far successful try to bring back the focus on artists who dare to
step off the beaten tracks. KRAKE 002 contains mostly exclusive tracks of
artists who played at the Krake festival in 2013. The A-side starts with a
dark ambient drone by DAMMERN, followed by a pop-fueled two-step hit by
PHON.O. Next in line is Irishman EOMAC with a warm and deep IDM track already
charted by none less than Thom Yorke of Radiohead, followed by
"Resolution", a little melancholic stepper by BILL YOUNGMAN. The
B-side is being opened with a techno track by grandmaster MONOLAKE in his
most typical dubby percussive style. For the next track FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER
reduces the sounds to the max again to deliver a percussive track as
minimalistic as can be. Legendary techno producer CRISTIAN VOGEL, known for
his constant search for new values, closes the compilation with an avantgarde
piece of noise and drones. Outstanding, we'd say! |

changes gears stylistically in a very big way with his latest release
entitled Until You Drop. Leaving his previous looped based purist Techno
behind, Post Scriptum takes his sound exploration into the much darker
cavernous world of Industrial Techno. Dark As You Like starts off this
musical odyssey with a fierce mid tempo, broken beat groove. The rhythm emits
the real feel sensation of live played drums with its hard smashing snares
and deep booming bass kicks which surely will have you play the air drums!
Layered on top of this beast of a rhythm track, Post Scriptum provides the
perfect lyricism with a smooth spoken narrative. Very forward thinking sound
design curves its way in and out of the dark negative space the rhythm and
vocals provide. Without imitation or sounding even remotely retro this evokes
the feel of early Nine Inch Nails and Ministry. Drop Zone is a highly intense
workout with it's pulsing staccato bassline and crackling filtered out lead
line which builds into a growling beast of riff that will completely consume

into the post contemporary realm of present day Industrialized Techno with

In
1990, Frankie Bones opened "Groove Records", a techno outpost deep
in Brooklyn. Adam X soon became a co-owner and by 1995 the shop was relocated
to Manhattan, with Heather Heart rounding out the trio. The new shop was
called "Sonic Groove" and it quickly became ground zero for techno
in New York City. There was nothing like it in the area at the time or,
arguably, anywhere in America. Sonic Groove was 110% dedicated to techno, a
genre that was just past its infancy and exploding worldwide. A community
emerged around the shop and thus the label was spawned. Adam X had an agenda
from the very beginning as label curator (and eventually sole owner): to
release some of the most forward thinking underground techno music around.
Realizing that goal was no easy feat, considering the volume of records being
released at the time in a fast-paced and growing scene. Fast-forward 25
years. Adam X and Sonic Groove are still at the forefront of modern
underground techno, sticking to the same ethos and pushing the envelope
further into the future. The faces and sounds may have changed, but the label
has kept true to the vision. In an era now dominated by image, style, and
trivial content, Sonic Groove continues its mission of putting the music first
and foremost. Now in celebration of 25 years, Sonic Groove releases a
muscular 12 song compilation of previously unreleased music comprised from
the label's current artist roster. A testament to techno's ever evolving
sound and serves as a modern document showcasing the path Sonic Groove has
taken and where it has led to, proving that as time passes, there is still

post-industrial Ruhr-Area has been an indisputable part of Germany's techno
landscape since the very beginning. More than 30 years after techno's golden
era and after a manifold challenging pandemic, the scene and its sounds are
blooming like never before. Ahmet Sisman and his project The Third Room can
be described as key factors for both the area's ongoing, sustainable
dedication to electronic music and its current success, being more and more
embedded in cultural contexts and society overall. It's unsurprising that the
first album of Ahmet Sisman, the multitalented artist and man of action, is a
well-considered mix of familiar and pioneering sounds, enriched by countless
influences within and beyond technos constantly evolving sub-genre scenery.
With a sophisticated 50/50 mix of four on the floor strikes and innovative
breaks, Sisman manages to hit a sweet spot between raw but groovy,
experimental but subtle nostalgia, melodious but noisy. All this is already
worthy of a listen, but placed in context, it perfectly fits the musical
approach of the Ruhr-Areas biggest transcendental techno project - The Stone
Techno Series and Festival. Like the bound-breaking release series of the
last two years, 'The Third Space' maintains the metallic and fierce sound

educational philosopher, born 1929 and died 2022. Raised by parents with a
strong desire for her to become a classical composer, but to their
disappointment Lotte chose to focus her work on teaching and working with
preschool kids in kinder gardens and the young kids in primary school. While
her parents were disappointed, the kids were the exact opposite because
Lotte's understanding of her work was based on the idea of children being
creative independent individuals with a strong need to express themselves. A
philosophy of children as human beings that should not only be educated, but
also part of a learning process based on their own experience, interests and
ideas. Lotte thought that play and working with music should be a key element
in the learning process. Together with a lot of the kids Lotte kaersa created
the band 'Graesrodderne' (Grassroots). They released six albums of which many
have been a collector's item for years. The original track for the remix is
titled 'Prov og gor lisom jeg' (try to do it like me) is now a cult classic
among eclectic dj's around the world. Bjorn Svin - a multitalented electronic
musician from Denmark always with a playful method when he is producing his

Somniac One returns to Perc Trax
after her breakout Perc Trax hit 'Junkyard Shift' was featured on the Perc
Trax Forever 3 VA release at the end of 2022. Originally hailing from
Lithuania, but currently residing in the Netherlands Somniac One perfectly bridges
the gap between modern high intensity techno and the production intricacies
of the European hardcore scene. Across the three tracks that make up 'I Hope
This EP Finds You Well' Somniac One demonstrates her razor sharp production
skills and firm grasp of dance floor dynamics, with each track growing more
and more powerful as the EP progresses. Opener 'Instigator' breaks down to a
unforgettable buzz saw breakdown before the beats come hurtling back,
'Infiltrator' adds a touch of drama to the EP with soft pad chords gliding
across the middle of the track and closer ' Buzz Pollinator' takes the BPM's
higher with its driving arpeggios pushing the track forward rounding off the
EP breathlessly |

"Hi
there, I'm really happy to present my new EP "Kernel Panic"
released on one of my favorite labels "Yuku". I've been discovering
a lot of great music and new artists thanks to Yuku and I'm really happy to
join the family. My first release ever was a footwork release 8 years ago,
and I wanted to experiment with this 160 bpm vibe again and merge it with a
lot of different personal influences. I've been experimenting a lot with
crazy polyrhythm sequencers and Euclidean algorithms for this EP. It was a
lot of fun but my laptop didn't like it at all. During the whole process, I
experimented a huge amount and experienced loads of bugs and laptop freezes,
so I decided to dedicate this EP to "Kernel Panics". It might be the
most hybrid EP I've done. You can hear breaks, electro, footwork, grime,
percussive, and dub ingredient within. I also had the pleasure to collaborate
with the very talented Kenyan rapper, Nah Eeto, for Piga Makofi, and I can't
wait to play this one live with her. I asked my friend Vica Pacheco to create
the artwork and she built this psychedelic 3d world based on "the
hypnotic and dynamic energy" of the EP. Big thanks to Yuku for following

We Enter, Mash Up Yer Know, So Good and Geni have become underground junge
classics from the first three Aladdin releases ADN-001 to ADN-003, released
in 1994 and 1995. The sounds innovated by these releases are still highly
influential and loved in today's Jungle and Drum&Bass scene |

2023 repress - Continuing the
pursuit of making KAOS and essential label for the contemporary disc-jockey I
opened the spectrum a little more with some newcomers on the label and a
pioneering veteran. Mighty D.Dan provides the direct Techno drive. I issue
one of the biggest hits of Millimetric which never came on vinyl (I'm really
looking forward to play this). On the Flip Copenhagen's prodigal son and
already well known for being trained to the floor by the KAOS followers,
Schacke, delivers one of the freakiest tunes I've ever come across with.
Hadone closes with his standard signature 140 rolling extatic melancholia. 4
songs that could definitely fit in an story-telling kind of set or in the
