been five years since Belgium's WeMe Records lovingly selected the first ever
collection of Heinrich Mueller's (Drexciya/Doppleffekt) best remixes/remodels
for a new generation of listeners that won't have to pay collector prices to
have them on vinyl. Volume 2 of False Vacuum is now with us and still has
riches to choose from. These 13 rare and hard to find tracks (3 of which make

Shinedoe
returns with a killer remix package celebrating some of the highlights of her
well received Freedom Riders album. The LP dropped towards the end of last
year, winning plaudits for rich sound design, sleek production and thoughtful
concept. With this release Shinedoe has selected four producers for their
unique sound to rework the originals into new shapes. First up is LA’s
Truncate (aka David Flores) who gives a new perspective on Expressionisme -
flipping it into a warm and groovy techno cut with lots of nicely balanced
vocals and trippy, dubbed out synths. Ritzi Lee is next up with his take on
Shine. The Amsterdam techno veteran (Steve Liem) adds his own twist to one of
the standout tracks from Freedom Riders, producing a driving, restless groove
stripped down to its essential elements. Elsewhere, Keith Carnal, another
Dutch master, turns the previous single Wake Up into a high energy peak time
floor filler - firing percussion, trippy grooves and huge white noise bursts
ramp up the tension. Finally, So It Is is reworked by Lawrence, whose
signature deep and dubby approach to techno results in a heady, hypnotic cut
that is sure to be a staple on more adventurous dancefloors |

KAU
(previously KAU trio.) is an instrumental trio based in Brussels.
Representing various European backgrounds, the Belgian capital and melting
pot proves to be a never ending source of inspiration for the band. Taking
influences from jazz, groove and dance music, their aim is simple but
straightforward: to make your heads bob. The formula they use to do so has
been the same since their early days: improvisation, never ending jam
sessions and an open-mindedness towards various genres and styles. This gives
their music an organic and vibrant feel. Furthermore, the three boys'
long-lasting friendship is at the heart of it all, always relying on what
brings them together: their love for music. The KAU cycle is bound to repeat
itself and to birth something new - over and over again. "The Cycle
Repeats" is KAU's debut album, due on September 22 on SDBAN Ultra, the
home of ECHT!, Black Flower, Glass Museum, STUFF. and more. It represents a
milestone in the band's musical journey: it's their firm decision to present
a strong and unified trio playing music that stands out through the
combination of 80's synths, acoustic drums and electric bass. Moreover, the
album succeeds in capturing the energy of their infectious and legendary live
shows. Highlights are album opener "Kampala", which has a throbbing
bassline, jazzy synths and heavily modified arpeggiators at its core. The
album's first single "Little Steps" starts with a strong hip hop
groove, morphing into Herbie Hancock-style chords. "Amulet" is
inspired by breakbeats, fast paced grooves and pentatonic bass lines. Both
"Kautokeino" and "Alaska" are an invitation to travel to
the utmost remote places of this earth, using intense sequencing and
suffocating subbasses into an epic finish, probably demonstrating the trio in
its most sincere form. In short: with André Breidlid on drums, Matteo
Genovese on bass and Jan Janzen on synths, KAU are a trio of childhood
friends with a pan-European identity, whose music reflects the city they grew
up in: unapologetic, richly diverse and with a spontaneous groove underlining

tour de force Rene Wise is an exciting talent synonymous with hair-raising
and hard-nosed Techno. A name that's been confidently claiming its stake in
common lexicon with a passion for polyrhythms, forward-looking frequencies
and kaleidoscopic beats. It's the mind-expanding potential of his favourite
genre that forms the basis of his new vinyl release on Bassiani Records.
Drawing on personal experiences of the psychedelic sort, he also cites the
role of atmosphere and spatial configuration in the making of his sound, in
his own words: 'the space that the music is presented in, is hugely important
and there are some very unique and special spaces in the world that capture

beware! Furfriend is back! Dingo Tush & Das Uberdog have awakened from
their well-deserved hibernation and are itching to tell you all about the
sweet dreams they had. Dreams that they thought would be best told in a
trilogy of earworms which would eventually feed on your brain. When the news
of their awakening broke out, Void+1 Laboratories, against better judgement,
made it their mission to log the dreams from these mythical beasts.
Regretfully, they did not anticipate that the celestial voice of Dingo Tush
could infect the minds of all of their employees and cause a chain reaction
that would in matter of days make a whole universe sing in unison for
eternity. Although V+1 did learn a valuable lesson (not really), that
universe had to be "abandoned" and the exit-point plugged (to
answer the question that just popped up in your mind: yes). After applying
Das Uberdog's custom-built, quantum censorship filters (totally not sci-fi
gibberish, foogle it) to the original recordings, they were modified into 3
interdimensional, techno megahits that are now safe to be presented to the
public (As far as we know... But don't worry, plugs in all sizes are ready
for just in case) |

Unorthodox saxophonist Albert
Ayler straddled different jazz streams during his brief career. After playing
with Stanley Turrentine and Harold Budd in the late 1950s, a move to Sweden
brought him into the limelight, fronting his own trio. Debut album Something
Different!!!!!! comprised four dissonant songs delivered live with bassist
Torbjörn Hultcrantz and drummer Sune Spångberg, with a barely recognisable
rendition of showtune "I'll Remember April," an off-kilter take of

From
1968 through to the mid 1970’s the reggae beat began to slow down,some say
due to the extreme heat hitting down onto Kingston Town and its surrounding
enclaves. People needed something less strenuous to dance to. The Ska and
Rocksteady Sounds (see 101 Orange Street KS007) that rocked Jamaica
previously, had now found a slower tempo and become more ‘Dread’ lyrically to
suit the times. Reggae music has always moved within the social climate it
found itself in and this set here, as we ‘Return To Orange Street’ was ROOTS
ROCK REGGAE TIME.... The Rastafarian message that runs through this
collection of ‘Reality’, sometimes labelled ‘Sufferers’ music,is strong and
works on many levels. It can come across on a heavy rhythm and vocal cut. Its
example represented here by Prince Jazzbo’s ‘Dread in a Earth’ and ‘I Roy’s
‘Roots Man Time’, moving through to the popular new sounds of the DJ’s
working over an old rhythm and alongside its existing vocal. As with Busty
Brown working with Delroy Wilson's ‘Know Your Friend’ and Mr Jah Stitch
working over Johnny Clarke’s ‘Roots Natty Roots’ to produce an even more
dreader ‘True Born African’. The heartfelt lyric can also convey this message
as we can see when Horace Andy laments ‘Where is the Love’ and Delroy Wilson
again shows us on his ‘Who Cares’ cut. The great Twinkle Brothers also put
the message across on their two cuts we have here, ’Too Late’ one of their
lost classics if ever there was one and the thoughtful ‘It’s Not Who You
Know’,being another prime example. Orange Street itself is always at the
heart of all reggae's musical changes and some singers also ride these waves
as Mr Cornell Campbell shows us here with two cuts. The mournful ‘Too Be
Loved’ and his uplifting ‘Girl of My Dreams’, which uses the same rhythm as
our previously mentioned Prince Jazzbo’s 'Dread in a Earth’. Showing us that
firstly you can’t keep a good rhythm down and secondly that two if not more
great songs can work from the same source point. The light hearted ‘Vengeful’
lyric also worked in this period when artists spared off to each other on
records to vent their frustrations. As we can hear here with Mr Lee Perry’s
‘You Funny Boy’. The song snipping back at a previous employer over what he
felt were his misdoings to an under appreciated Mr Perry. We have culled
these tracks together to show that the Dread Roots feel of the 1970’s came
across in many guises and even in earlier songs these sentiments were also
prevalent. As represented in Slim Smith’s almost bluesy feel in ‘Trying To
Find a Home’, never a truer statement in Kingston's ghetto areas |

Bell
Curve's new EP Obelisk for Berlin's SSPB provides a daring evolution of her
soundworld, channeling the bristling intensity of her previous work into a
more expansive headspace. Alongside six mesmerising new tracks from Bell
Curve, the EP features a remix from Hessle Audio rising star Toumba. Obelisk
compiles Bell Curve's most compelling and enthralling work to date. Reveling
in dazzling repetition and delicate sonic nuance, it is a cathartic and
defiant statement in an industry that increasingly demands hollow immediacy
and caters to short attention spans - an homage to struggles and affirmation
of strength and self-belief, while equally offering euphoric escape for those
willing to spend time inside its mystic whorl. Club sonics are here plucked from
their original contexts and expanded outwards - icy rave stabs on
"Staircase" ascending into the heavens or the astral breaks and
springy bass of "Hope It Gets Better". Subtle shifts in tone and
texture guide the listener through the trip, reverb tails slowly extending
into lysergic drift or rippling grain and feedback rising from pulsing bass
tones. Jordanian producer Toumba amps up the tempo on his remix of
"Staircase" while maintaining the original's emotional core,
bolstering the track's dextrous rhythms with distinctive Levantine timbres.
Obelisk captures a constant push and pull between emotional states - from
anxiety and melancholy to joy and euphoria, working through turmoil to find
transcendence. Tracks like "Dance Skeleton Dance" particularly
invoke this duality, drawing catharsis from darker sonics, reconfiguring bass
pressure and anxious percussion into a humid dancehall stepper. "Without
U" contains emotional struggle as part of the very circumstances of its
making - written while working through heartbreak, its delicate repetitions
and searching tone reflecting the process of reconnecting with oneself. Title
track "Obelisk" forms the emotional core of the EP, coalescing from
weightless vapors into dramatic synthesizer motifs, evoking euphoric memories
of complete immersion on the dancefloor and our ability to find ecstatic
experience even in the contemporary hellscape |

Always exciting when Klasse
Wrecks comes with a new label project!! This one they do together with Kid
Who and is a series of records showcasing previously unreleased house,
techno, acid and more from the 90s Amiga Demoscene. Created using early
sample sequencers such as ProTracker, these tracks radiate the authentic
energy of techno's golden era - and they've been hiding in plain sight in
Demoscene web repositories for many years. It was during the long days of the
2020 lockdowns that Kid Who began to explore these archives, sifting through
thousands of tracks to eventually amass a collection of several hundred of
his favourites. Curated by Klasse Wrecks and Kid Who in close collaboration
with the talented artists behind them, the .NFO project aims to bring some of
these finds to the broader dance music community via a series of VA 12"s

Directly
from Brazil, Data Assault steps up to deliver a fast paced 5 track EP,
featuring a remix from the outstanding Martinelli. The artist has a solid
career of sonic experimentations that are fueled by a radical stance, with
productions that inevitably find their way into clubs and sound systems all
around the globe. Besides producing his own parties that have been making
waves in the local scene in Brasilia. "Dor e Miseria" is inspired
by the Brazilian socio-political disaster which occured from 2018 to 2022,
bringing beats treated with lots of compression and distortion, accompanied
with aggressive vocal chops and melancholic pads. His fierce production style
is joined by Martinelli, who's remix completes the picture and makes an
interpretation that delivers everything with a simple approach, combining 808
drums, funky basslines and an impeccable percussive movement. "Movida
Pelo Odio" e "Euforia Sinistra" discharge influences from the
dirtiest beats of Grime and 8-Bar Techno, with aggressive synths interspersed
by acidic elements that dominate the sonic image of the EP. The last track
"Furia Funk" closes with heavily compressed and saturated 909
drums, and 303 acid lines screaming loudly |

GFR because it gives me that outlet to vent my harder side of studio work,

other labels, you'll know its still me just more or less grit so I'm grateful
for these platforms because I can definitely be both ways in the studio &

We walked the earliest edge of
Sunday, winter dark; streets lined up with standstill cars, silver, grey, and
black, and white; while the ever-distant sun, then further still, was slowly
breaking into shining. The town was quiet, gleaming; the rows of tenements -
awash with sky. And we rarely chanced upon a person, save the
stocking-wrapped, shadows without bodies, and that nude and mouthless one. We
turned into a narrow lane past the power station, the mute red lights of
chimneys looking down at us. We reached the concrete halfpipe of the

Perc
Trax's Forever series returns with another forward facing selection of Perc
Trax regulars and artists that are new to the label. Now in its fourth
edition this time Tham, Perc, Tassid and Dahryl serve up a varied mix of
tracks from across the techno spectrum. Opening up the release is Tassid, who
returns to the label after his recent festival wrecking remix of Perc's own
'Resistor' and his continued work for Stay Up Forever and his own Skuxx
imprint. Here he gives us 'Quantum Entanglement', taking dance floors on a
twisting psychedelic journey built on a classic rock solid Tassid warehouse
foundation. Closing the A-side is label boss man Perc, returning to the
Forever series after this Dirt release for Perc Trax and his Wave Cannon EP
for Scalameriya's new Void+1 label. 'Fireball XTC' hits you with a swarm of
jabbing vocal shouts pushed forward by rolling percussion rhythms for a
typically epic Perc work out. Flip over the vinyl and Synoid cofounder and
Driller label head Tham makes his Perc Trax debut with 'Put The Screws On'
showcasing a fusion of modern Berlin techno and classic electro synth sounds.
Last up is Elements & Green Fetish producer Dahryl closes the vinyl with
'Just Do It' a grinding slab of main room techno featuring the biggest drop
of the release which has been in Perc's sets for months now |

in 2011, the REPITCH label debuted with "REPITCH 000", a brief
compilation that featured tracks from the three originators: Pasquale Ascione
(Ascion), Davide Carbone (D. Carbone), Nino Pedone (Shapednoise). Since then,
the imprint has been a key player on techno's experimental fringes, pushing
music that joins the dots between industrial, noise, bass, and hard dance. In
ten years, they've released music from artists like Sote, Zenker Brothers,
AnD, Sleeparchive, Regis, and VTSS, and to celebrate their anniversary,
REPITCH has fittingly assembled another forward-thinking selection of tracks
following on from 2017's acclaimed "Dys Functional Electronic
Music." "Dys Functional Electronic Music X" is a state of the
union from Ascione, Carbone, and Pedone that highlights not only their
label's scope but its intentions for the future. Ten years in, the trio are
just as motivated by broadening club music's horizons as they are filling
dancefloors, and that's never more obvious than on opening track 'Mastice
Riddim (VIP Mix)' from Shapednoise and Gabber Eleganza. The two producers
meet at the exact intersection of their styles, with Pedone splitting Alberto
Guerrini's fictile trance arpeggios using his patented hi- definition sound
design and trunk-rattling drill rhythms. TSVI and Randomer excavate a similar
mid-point on 'Overbite,' following on from 2021's "Reflex" EP with
a booming, mindboggling fusion of warehouse techno and cybernetic dancehall.
Pasquale Ascione's contribution 'Plugged (Heavy- Rotation Mix)' is a
disarming future-retro cut, distorting vintage breaks with psychedelic bleep
techno synths, while Carbone's 'Hypnotic Experimental Dance' does precisely
what it promises, blotting grinding hardstyle kicks into dissonant waves of
psychedelic electronics. Los Angeles ravers Baseck and Aura T-09 throw shades
over the Cali sunshine on 'Angelz', losing gabber rhythms in tweaked DSP fizz
but never dropping the crucial momentum. On the flip side, Italian mainstay
DJ Plant Texture turns in a breakbeat slowburner that sounds like Sheffield
via Rotterdam but never dips into empty nostalgia. Russia's versatile
Buttechno, meanwhile, brings a weightless sensibility to progressive minimal,
layering cauterized harmonics over driving warehouse kicks and dreaming
gently of the big room. The compilation switches gears at this point,
centering a pair of rave-ready hard dance constructions from fwd-thinking
Greek producers DJ Loser and MarcelDune, before grinding to a halt on
sci-fi-tinged closer 'Digital Hoarder' from Low Income $quad's Strahinja
