Dorisburg
is Bossmusik regular with four releases on the label under his belt. For this
EP he is joined by Efraim Kent - the newest member of the Boss family.
Dorisburg and Efraim have many things in common, not just the previous
records the pair has produced, but more importantly they unite in a shared
love for intricate drum patterns, as well as being masters of trippy
spiraling sounds. For the 10th installment in the Bossmusik collection, the
Swedish duo goes all in with four deep, yet funky, expertly produced tech
house cuts. The tenth release on the label will be released exactly ten years
after the first record was released the 13th of October. The A-side opens
with Further. A penetrating kick keeps chopped up drums and a spitting vocal
sample in order and when the brooding bassline gets to close, hypnotic x-rays
twists the narrative. On A2 the boys are clearly letting you know it is
playtime; opening with a funk-driven beat and tumbling drums, this track is
nothing less than a funhouse full of twirling tocsins - Attjo is certainly
nothing to sneeze at. B1, Cave Gossip, is a low-slung affair with an
electro-infused bassline; here a deep groove takes you on a hallucinogenic
underground journey and a nonchalant vocal sample grows into a warped echoing
choir. Final track Skrattack is where the drum-loving duo puts the full
spotlight on the percussion: complex rhythm patterns provide a spaced-out
backdrop, attacked by what sounds like giddy little extraterrestrial
critters, ready to mess up the party in the most charming of ways |

creative process and production. He believes in a ''it takes a village"
approach and worked closely with label head Marsman to iterate the project.

SoHaSo keeps finding lost gems in
the rich soil of the Dutch electronic underground. You might know P.A.
Presents from his epic Entangled EP (1995) or his many releases on U-Trax.
When SoHaSo informed if he had any dusty DAT tapes laying around from that
particular period in the 90s, Peter Aarsman started digging. And found plenty
of goodies. Here's six tracks which will beam you right back the last
century, when names like Carl Craig, Drexciya and Bola were household names
among the lovers of funky, melancholic electronica. Whether it's moody
strings, otherworldly melodies or syncopated break beats, P.A. delivers on
his Lost Voices EP. Like on the 4Hero-esque Drum 'n Tech or the mysterious
and jumpy electro vibes on Vice. On Drop It and closing track Lost Voices the
Dutch producer goes into full club modus. This is techno that used to fill up

This
summer, Laurent Garnier announced the launch of his latest landmark album.
The newest LP showed why he is such a vital force with a series of cuts,
distilling his 30+ year career experiences into cutting-edge electronic music
full of tension and release. Now he continues to prove he operates at the
vanguard with this exemplary assembly of remixers. UK techno mainstay Works
Of Intent, fka R.O.S.H., opens up with his Farewell remix of 'Reviens La
Nuit', a dark, pulsing techno sound with widescreen cosmic chords and
unsettling modulations. Romantic techno master Voltaire then flips 'Tales
From The Real World' into a scintillant melodic excursion with arps cascading
down the face of the track and fizzing synths lighting up the electro beats.
Next is 22Carbone, who are featured on the original album but here remix 'In
Your Phase' into a grimy, broken beat with tough bars and twisted metal
textures next to the menacing mic work. Rocco Rodamaal has 30 years of
experience and is one of few veterans that remains genuinely relevant today.
He offers two versions of 'Liebe Grüße aus Cucuron' - a smooth and deep
elongated techno trip and a fizzing Keys Mix doused in melodic charm. New
York's new wave techno star Anthony Cardinale aka Avision, lights up his remix
of 'Le Swing Du Pouletto' with radiant and optimistic synths and a dark,
brooding low end. Later he brings plenty of marching menace and pent-up synth
tension to his rework of 'Liebe Grüße aus Cucuron'. Reshit's take on 'On the
Record' offers a dreamy ambient soundscape with downtempo breaks and
expansive prog-rock style synths. The Limiñanas are Lionel and Marie Limiñana
- a pair based in the deep south of France who record garage, psych and pop
music and have previously paired up with Garnier on the successful album ”De
Pelicula”. They offer a long and short remix of 'Saturn Drive', which in
their hands is a dirty post-punk gem with raw drums and sleazy guitars
creating walls of reverberating sound. This sophisticated selection of techno
remixes brings all-new emotions and moments of dance floor brilliance to
Laurent Garnier's superb originals |

Soundtrack: A Musical Connection of Belgium with Cinema." Packed with
the finest soundtracks boasting an unmistakable Belgian connection, this
compilation takes listeners on a captivating journey through a collection of
cinematic hidden gems from the early sixties to the late seventies. Curated
by the passionate duo Robin Broos and Tom 'Pélé' Peeters, known for their
profound appreciation of obscure soundtracks, "The Belgian
Soundtrack" showcases the exceptional talents of both local and
internationally acclaimed composers and musicians. From obscure finds
composed by lesser-known artists to Hollywood scores performed by
world-renowned musicians, this compilation offers a vibrant blend of tracks,
including the occasional contribution from renowned international artists who
have lent their musical prowess to Belgian films. "The Belgian
Soundtrack" came into being as a serendipitous adventure. Former film
journalist Jan Temmerman reached out to us one day, offering a treasure trove
of vintage soundtrack albums discovered in his attic," recounts Robin
Broos. "With 650 long players, mostly unheard of titles, we embarked on
an extraordinary quest-to listen to every single one of them, totaling a
staggering 29,250 minutes. It was like watching the original Star Wars
trilogy 78 times!" What started as a quest soon evolved into an
intriguing investigation fueled by curiosity. Along the way, Broos and
Peeters unearthed dozens of treasures, delved into the backgrounds of obscure
composers and musicians, and witnessed an array of enigmatic films. "We
encountered an abundance of (un)necessary nudity that we never could have
imagined existed," Tom Peeters laughs. The outcome of their explorations

Paolo
Mosca makes intricate, multi-layered electronic music. Inspired by the early
club sound pushed by the pioneers from his home region Veneto, he fuses
house, trance and ambient - and moves forward. The Metaphysics EP displays
the artist's passion and ingenuity, unfolding technical skill that makes
clear his studio clock is set to 2023 and not 1993. On
"Luciddreams" a statically charged beat and organ bass work up a
groove. Accompanied by a misty pad and a slow, pensive arpeggiator, it pulses
towards the break: there an acid line emerges, finds its spot in the mix, and
refuels the track. "Energia" draws from a bolder, more euphoric
range. Hand drums, a glittering lead and airy yet restrained chords float
soaked in reverb and delay. A lean bass sequence tightly keeps the rhythm as
flanged claps and subtly positioned sweeps create extra movement. The second
side's opener, "Under the sea" features a formant filter lead
meandering within the sweaty framework of heavily gated choir pads and a
frugal bassline that eventually gets layered with an M1. Modulated vocals and
strokes of additional melody ensure the stereo field again gets used to its
full capacity. "Acqua" is a fitting coda. Some familiar patches are
deployed over a tumbling beat that takes charge of the pace from the get-go.
The palette might seem bright and blissful, but as always, the track's
latticework contains enough contrast for a slight feeling of melancholy to
keep simmering beneath. Mosca cited his meditation routine, how it helps him
materialize ideas and thoughts, as a main drive upon finishing this record.
The Metaphysics EP is a ruminative work. Comprised of four explorations in
deftly manipulating energy with due attention to balance and momentum, it
easily flows between genres, details darting in and out, showing the artist's
understanding of composition and dance music history. It is a deep-dive
selection of club-oriented cuts we are excited to release on Altered Circuits |

for vinyl at Abbey Road Studios, London. Most of Gen X-ers who grew up in the
mid-1980s Indonesia must have seen Soedjarwoto Soemarsono, known with his nom
de guerre “Gombloh” performing on a state-run television station, playing
some of his biggest hits from that era, pop gems like “Kugadaikan Cintaku (I
Pawn Off My Love)”, “Setengah Gila (Half-Crazy).” But of course, it is not
fair to judge Gombloh only from these hits. Dig deeper and you will find
buried treasure in his early stuff from Indra Records, and there are many of
them. His album with the band Lemon Tree’s Anno ‘69 (yes, that’s the name of
the band) is all remarkable, but what he did for Chandra Records was no less
spectacular. How can you go wrong with songs like “Kebyar-Kebyar”, the
unofficial national anthem for Indonesia, dan “Berita Cuaca” one of the
better epic songs in a catalogue full of epochal songs? These were all long
out of print and in our journey to source the original master for these
albums we met Bob Djumara of Nirwana Records, the Surabaya, East Java-based
label which broke Gombloh into the mainstream in the mid-1980s. Almost all
albums Gombloh recorded for his early labels, Indra Records and Chandra
Records were critically acclaimed, but commercially they bombed, big time.
Nirwana Records came up with an ingenious plan. What if they recorded Gombloh
performing live and release it as is. After all, the first song in Gombloh
debut record Nadia & Atmospheer is him strumming on his guitar backed by
the cheering of a crowd, who could be heard going wild when he hurled that
epithet “bastard” at the end of the song. The end result is a brilliant
recording which despite being recorded live the sound quality so pristine
leading many to doubt the claim of being live. Regardless, Nirwana shipped a
decent number of units and Gombloh could buy his first car, a Katana Jeep,
with money from the royalty. One of the best things about Live Gila is its
perfect sequencing, beginning with Gombloh’s social commentary on the rich’s
debauched lifestyle of preying on young boys and girls, one of the most
popular subjects allowed by the censoring machine of the New Order
authoritarian government. The second song “Untuk Persada” is a soaring ode to
the nation. For this song, Gombloh could be heard drawing his inspiration
from The Police, which was undoubtedly popular in the early 1980s, even in a
faraway port city like Surabaya. Listening to this record as a whole (we
omitted the last song from the original master tape “Bagimu Negeri” which
sounds too jingoistic), we could not help but point to some of similarities
it has with Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks. Not a single composition in this
record sound indigenous (the Malay-influenced rock of Panbers or Koes Plus
come to mind); they all sound modern and effortlessly catchy, and had it not
been for the language, this album could be mistaken for a musical output from
someone growing up in Laurel Canyon or Southern France |

Legendary Texan psychedelic
innovator Roky Erickson formed the 13th Floor Elevators in the mid-1960s,
shaking up the local and national music scenes with his astounding debut LP.
After spells at psychiatric facilities, Erickson formed the Bleib Alien which
became the Aliens, but by the early 1980s was fixated with junk mail. In the
convoluted aftermath, 1988's Openers, released in limited numbers by London's
5 Hours Back, had Erickson solo on six of the tracks, his anguished,
meandering lyrics backed by disjointed acoustic guitar chords, and here
contrasted by the swampy power-pop backing of The Explosives on the rest.

‘Is
Love Enough?’ is the band’s sixth studio album and was recorded at Paul
Weller’s Black Barn Studios in Surrey and produced by Stone Foundation’s
founding members Neil Jones and Neil Sheasby. It continues their fruitful
collaboration with Paul Weller who produced 2017’s Street Rituals and played
on 2018’s ‘Everybody Anyone’ [both of which have streaming figures in the
millions]. Paul contributes lead vocals to ‘Deeper Love’ and also prominent
backing vocals on ‘Picture A Life’. He also joins the band and plays guitar
on three other tracks (‘Af-Ri-Ka’, ‘Help Me’, ‘Love’s Interlude (II)’). Stone
Foundation are renowned for their collaborative approach and this time is no
exception. Legendary actor Peter Capaldi provides a spoken word coda to the
album, reading words by Vincent Van Gogh written about love. Additionally,
two rising stars of the soul scene feature on the record. Durand Jones joins
for a lead vocal on ‘Hold On To Love’ and Laville sings lead on ‘The Light In
Us’. Neil Jones says: “This time around we wanted to sing songs about love,
that beautiful emotion we see in every town or city we play in. Not the
trite, ‘boy falls for girl’ kind, this was the building bridges and breaking
down borders kind and right now it seemed to us like we needed more of that L
O V E than ever.” Neil Sheasby says: “We felt it was the right moment to move
the big subjects such as hope, compassion, empathy and indeed love to the
forefront of our writing. We wanted to attempt something ambitious. It was a
joy to create, one of the most productive periods for us, the ideas just
flowed.” ‘Is Love Enough’ sees Stone Foundation building on their growing
stature but also on 22 years of experience of playing together. Having been
pulled forward into the limelight by been chosen to support The Specials on a
2011 arena tour, the band has kept both grooving and growing! They have
enjoyed national airplay from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2 and rave reviews from
a huge range of publications. Stone Foundation has played Glastonbury and
sold out headline shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and the Electric

Disco
legend Sylvester comes to Dark Entries with Private Recordings: August 1970,
an intimate collection of vintage jazz, blues, and gospel. While Sylvester is
best known for his chart-topping collaborations with producer Patrick Cowley,
such as “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real),” this release reveals his passion
for the sounds of the 30s and 40s. In 1970 a 22-year-old Sylvester had moved
to San Francisco and found himself involved with the Cockettes, the infamous
psychedelic performance art troupe. Among this milieu was Peter Mintun, a
pianist and record collector living in a commune devoted to retro culture.
According to Mintun, “We were like hippies who lived in the twenties. We
lived in a house that didn’t have anything modern in it. Nothing in it was
made after World War II.” Mintun and Sylvester bonded over their love of
Black singers of yore and were allotted a slot during Cockettes performances
reviving the music of the Prohibition Era. One afternoon, Sylvester and
Mintun recorded a number of their shared favorites using a high-end
microphone a friend had acquired. Private Recordings features 9 songs from
this session, including standards like “Stormy Weather,” “Happy Days Are Here
Again,” and “God Bless the Child.” Sylvester’s unmistakable falsetto brings
depth and a dash of camp to these familiar tunes. The recordings are casual
and intimate, even capturing banter between Sylvester and Mintun; their brief
rendition of “When My Dreamboat Comes Home” has the duo working out a melody
in real time. In addition to their sonic explorations of decades past,
Sylvester and Mintun also staged photographic shoots in vintage couture.
Private Recordings comes with a 16-page booklet on firm cardstock featuring
images from these never-before-seen shoots as well as liner notes from Mintun
detailing his friendship with Sylvester and their experiences recording. All
this is housed in a metallic silver sleeve designed by Eloise Leigh featuring
a 1920’s Art Deco aesthetic. The record will be released on September 6th
which would have been Sylvester’s 76th birthday, and all proceeds from
Private Recordings will go to the two charities that Sylvester left his
royalties after his death: Project Open Hand and PRC (formerly AIDS Emergency
Fund). This essential release documents the earliest known recordings from
one of disco’s greatest talents |

"Magnetic Gliding" album, produced by Swiss musicians Marco Repetto
and Stefan Riesen, also known as Synectics on Rephlex and founders of Axodya
Records. Originally released in 1995 on the Italian Disturbance label, it has
now been remastered and proudly reissued for 2023 in a limited edition of 500
copies by Musique Pour La Danse. Enjoy this trip. Marco Repetto was a member
of the world-famous wave/punk band Grauzone. In the late '80s, he delved into
techno, ambient, and psychedelic music, drawing inspiration from nature and
shamanic knowledge. His performances are described as colorful, playful, and mind-opening
experiences. His main project now is "Bigeneric," which he releases
on his label, Inzec Records. Stefan Riesen has been a prominent figure in the
Swiss techno scene since 1995. He is the founder-manager of Phont Music,
SuperBra, Morris/Audio, Floppy Funk, and Speaker Attack. He has (co-)produced
numerous tracks under various aliases on different labels, including Box
Blaze, Flaptrack, Hooper, Nylon, Sonic Tourism, Spin, A3000, Box Blaze &

On Quantum Realm, Oscar Mulero sets the bar high as per usual,
dropping an uptempo but minimalistic cut. The second track is one from
Fixeer, a familiar face of Dynamic Reflection. His contribution is the kind
of slumbering track that will fit the moments before getting to peak time
perfectly. Taking over is Norbak, the Portugese youngster that has earned
himself a reputation for slaying dancefloors with both his dj-sets and
productions alike and his track 'Your Heroes May Fail You' is no exception.
Lastly, Vladw provides the last track and the perfect closing of this EP. A
lower beats per minute, some added ambience and spacious background noise
make for the perfect outro. Quantum Realm is part of Dynamic Reflection's 15
year anniversary celebration: Time Crystals. This is the third of five EP's.

Approaching
the 50th-anniversary release of Artreform, the label's boss, Kyiv-based DJ
and sound producer JOSS is counting on experienced artists. The fresh record
with an updated modern design from the abstract art master Elemetalsource
boasts two tech-house powerhouses at once: Fedo, the lead artist from Odessa,
and Okain, the Berlin-based musician and owner of Talman Records, who was
invited as a remixer. The three original tracks from Fedo deliver detached,
robotic minimal house that could be playing on an interplanetary station as
its well-coordinated machinery works in unison. It is club-centric music with
a moving, inventive groove, albeit without any live emotions. A respectful
tribute to those 90s cult Plastic City records, and at the same time, trendy
sound for modern minimal and microhouse parties. Okain's injection boosts the
release's dynamics with more thumping rhythms and a hypnotic atmosphere.

enhancing Fedo's material with his trademark style, perfected through years
of releases on Bpitch Control and Tsuba, and thoroughly tested on Europe's

After
a busy and prolific work on his acoustic-electronic project and soundtrack
compositions, Mischa Blanos wears again his clubbing outfit, returning with a
three track EP for his techno and live electronics awaiting crowd in the
dancing arena. Linear EP evokes the ethereal experience of clubbing, where
time feels like grinding to a halt as if plunging through an open door into a
new world. Taking the vantage point of the dancefloor, Mischa Blanos recalls
entering this space where time doesn't play a heavy role anymore. Be it two
hours or eight in a nightclub, be it day or night, dusk or dawn, one doesn't
seek time traveling but time stopping, as a way to relieve the time burden in
our high-speed society. We tend to perceive that time is running at a faster
pace, but time itself does not pass, what passes are things and living
beings. Time is neither linear nor circular, time does not flow or move, but
allows us to do so. And it is here on the dance floor that this reality can
be felt. Everything is moving, vibrating and changing from the flashing
lights to the loud decibel kicks and everyone is both audience and performer
on the stage. They all belong to the scene. Sometimes this could mean an
individual experience, being completely absorbed in dancing or a parallel
space, and other times it means togetherness, feeling an integral part of the

"The
Flying Guillotine 2" is the bloody sequel to Serenace's first appearance
on Shaw Cuts in 2019, continuing the head-lopping violence with a group of
freedom fighters lead by the heroic Ma Teng battling against the evil despot
Emperor Yung and his reign of terror. Teng has developed a protective device,
similar to a spiky metal umbrella, that allows him to defend against the
deadly flying guillotine attacks of the violent regime. "Current",
its bombastic drum patterns, razor-sharp synth waves and vicious vibe
strengthens the rebels to resist the brutal assaults. But the Emperor
immediately reacts, creating a double flying guillotine to counter Ma Teng's
iron umbrella and the rebel union is left defenseless again. "Aiming From
A Distance", a vivid breakbeat cut combining rolling percussion,
arpeggiated synth chords and sirens from hell, raises the rebels' hopes to
give them another answer. Secret insurgent Na Lan infiltrates the Emperor's
inner circle by gaining his trust with a group of female warriors whom he
allows to train with the flying guillotine palace guards. However, Na Lan
only wants to steal the plans of the improved weapon and deliver it to the
rebel squad, in order to devise another counteracting force. With the crisp
bassline and the energy-filled breaks of "Test 21", the rebels can
gain an insight into the elaborated guillotine and find a possible way to
defeat it. Farron's profound techno version of "Current" brings in
the necessary tension for the final showdown. The improved double flying
guillotine VS a new secret defensive system. Will the rebels be able to team
up and defeat the tyrant once and for all? No matter what happens, the saga
continues |

As
a follow-up to the debut EP on Taisha entitled Anaesthesia, Avilynn is back
with another dynamic four track EP in the shape of 'Five Million Sunsets'.
Once again showcasing Avilynn's diverse production style across three
originals, while Techno titan Answer Code Request turns in an interpretation
employing his typically twisted and intricate style. 'Why So Serious' opens
the project and focuses on dynamically evolving and unfurling drums, plucked
synths and modulating percussion while expansive reverberations and nuanced
echoes further instil dynamism throughout. Answer Code Request steps up next,
shifting the focus to an industrial feel aesthetically, twisting elements of
the original's synthesis and high-octane drums into an ominous, subtly unfolding
take on things. Opening the flip-side is title-cut 'Five Million Sunsets'
which sees Avilynn explore a more textural landscape, dropping the tempo
significantly and introducing circling dub chords, earthy sub tones and
menacing bass swells throughout. Last up to round out the release is 'Your
Eye Was Bigger Than The Other One', here Avilynn focuses her musical theme
around "a trippy experience where the person has a distorted
reality", the composition laid out across three and a half minutes melds
together choppy broken drums, eerie tones and bubbling synths alongside
gritty distorted moments and metallic chimes |

For
most of us, life is a series of human interactions; some good, some bad, some
happy, some sad. But what would life be without those peripheral characters
who plant themselves into our worlds through the sheer force of their
presence? Whether we speak to them or not, those vibrant contrasts to the
everyday tide of ordinary people are a magical part of the human experience.
Oddballs and misfits, flamboyant instigators or low-key game changers, we all
clock them on our own hectic journeys, and they make the day a little
brighter. Everyone has their favourite people. Following the runaway success
of their first one-shot single in 2020, Favourite People reconvene for a
full-length of blues-tinged cuts stemming from sessions at Selva Studios in
Brooklyn. The project’s roots predate the studio, from scattered jams and
sweaty nights in New York nightspots to impromptu recordings on cruise ships,
but the flashpoint of inspiration that truly set the album in motion was the
arrival of a blonde 1960s Fender Telecaster. From there, the motley crew of
sharp-shooting string slingers and sticks men set about crafting paeans to
those striking souls who make the world a more colourful place. The emphasis
here is on the kind of forward-facing, electrically charged mix you felt
(whether you realised it or not) hearing early Sabbath or Priest for the
first time. With their undeniable bias towards vintage soul, Favourite People
are far from heavy metal, but the same lineage of blues and by extension jazz
informs the music, while the tonal crunch of that 70s era guides the sound.
Feasting on tasteful overdrive and leaning on the unmistakable flavour of
tape for much of the recording, the deal was sealed on this purposeful
exercise in vibe thanks to the near-mythical texture of Guy Davie’s EMI
Nigeria console at Electric Mastering. Across the album there are mellow
shades and bursts of good-time get-down exuberance, but the lead singles
capture the essence of the band in no uncertain terms. ‘Promise Of Nibbles’
brings the Favourite People MO into sharp relief with a low-slung, hard
swinging blues confection full of overheating organ and duelling guitars in
pursuit of Southern-stewed boogie (im)perfection. ‘We’ll Be Late To The
Party’ turns up the tempo and dials in the fuzz, striking an anthemic note
which lands somewhere between urgent highway escapism and euphoric communal
revelation. ‘Mass and Mustiness’ leans in on the funk dimension of the
group’s sound with the sweetest licks and chops on that fabled telecaster
backed up by an acutely angled beat and the slinkiest of b-lines. These are
but three of the vibrant vignettes laid down by this quietly unassuming
collective of heads down jammers, loose groovers and vintage sound freaks
–heavy grooving instrumentals pulled from their own moments of pure musical
magic and captured on disc for your listening, dancing, living, loving
pleasure |

acclaimed 'Atlantis' EP late last year. Keeping his sound pure, Kr!z presents
a cohesive collection of decisive tracks for 'Marbles', his third release of
2023. Kr!z's A1 'Flare Gun' introduces a loopy synth sequence, foreshadowing
a minimal but rhythmically effective release from the Belgium based artist.
Shuffling hi hats, sprinkled rides, and a round-bodied kick complement the
nail biting lead, mapping out the mood for the tracks to come. The sharp
quality of 'Flare Gun' quickly smoothes out for its follow-up 'Surge', in
which a flexible chord creates a more bubbly atmosphere, competing with
anxious white-noise transitions and high paced percussion line. The deeper
aspect of Kr!z's work on this last track is quickly subdued by the other side
of the record, starting with 'Marbles Lost' - a chaotic club record that
holds well to its name. A high pitch arpeggio lines Kr!z's arrangement,
sweeping through the spectrum and bursting at the seams with its
genre-defining tension. The low end drives the record along, pulsating with
the lead to accentuate groove under the drum machine. The outro to 'Marbles'
is characterized by an intriguing use of chord triggering over a contained
structure. Refined yet effective, Kr!z keeps his promise to honor the true
spirit of techno in 'Delirium' with this classically efficient closer for his
third EP on the label |

"Creating this record took
me around 2 years, I was moving quite a bit, without a steady working or
living space, travelling and playing live again for the first time since the
pandemic. At first there was creative insecurity and many abandoned ideas, I
wanted to make something special for YUKU but everything felt dry and
soulless. In my head this was supposed to be a dancefloor record, but this
idea quickly became an obstruction in my creative flow. During this time I
started learning modular synthesis, and although there was definitely a
learning curve this method of making music gave the record direction and
refreshed my way to approach composition. It is also very fun to learn. What
came out is a collage of sorts that is more honest and reflective of my
emotions and those of the people and spaces that I have exchanged with.
