Wave Acid Punx DEUX is the second compilation for Eskimo Recordings compiled
and curated by Berlin-based Musician and DJ Luca Venezia, aka Curses, to
explore the darker side of club music. Spread across 3CDs and three 2LPs Next
Wave Acid Punx DEUX features a mammoth 49 tracks that join the dots between
early industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle, EBM legends like Nitzer Ebb and
the post-punk experiments of people like Malcolm McLaren and Big Audio
Dynamite with some of the most exciting artists around today, such as Boy
Harsher, Nuovo Testamento and Years of Denial. Where the first Next Wave Acid
Punx compilation was a personal journey for Luca, a lockdown inspired
exploration of his record collection to find the thread that ran through the
music that had soundtracked much of his life, DEUX is a celebration of that
music let loose on the world, the thrill of music performed live, the smoke
and strobe filled clubs you'll hear it in and the artists you'll find on
those stages. "After our enforced break, getting back out there and
playing live again really brought home to me so much of what I love about the
scene I'm in but also just how important live music has been and is to club
culture over the years," Luca explains. "Too often we think of club
nights and live gigs as these separate things, but throughout the years it's
where the two meet, the friction that can cause, that you'll find the most
vibrant scenes." "There's an energy, an atmosphere that you get
with live music, an unpredictability where at any moment something can go
wrong or even better right in a way you never expect. I think about a live
set we played at a Lebanese festival where our MPC drum machine froze up
because of all the dust and sand trapped in the pads. We had to improvise
half our set, jamming bass and guitar and pedal FX and vocals, embracing this
surreal environment and experience, something that could only happen in the
moment." "With Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX I wanted to celebrate those
bands and artists, past and present who, to me, represent that spirit. Both
full live bands and makeshift electronic duos alike, the kind of acts that
you might have found wedged between DJs back in the day at The Hacienda in
the 80s, Trash in the 00s or today at nights like Berlin's MILK ME, EXBTN in
Paris, Night Terrors + SC&P in London, New York City's Synthicide or
Ukraine's Worn Pop. So I've put this compilation together much like my
favourite kind of night, going out to see some bands play, hitting up a club
where live music and DJs blur together, before the serious business of the
after party. On Chapter 1 you'll find bands like Vicious Pink, DAF and
Cabaret Voltaire, some of these acts are more obscure than others, some
flirted with pop and even the charts but they were all embracing new ways of
working in the late 70s and 80s that both set them apart and set the scene
for much of what we think of as club music |

Though they only released a
handful of tracks, Conqueror's sound defined an entire subgenre of black
metal. During the band's short existence, they deliberately avoided live
performance, focusing instead on perfecting their recorded output. But on
November 8, 2014, at NWN! Fest IV in Berlin, Conqueror appeared on stage for
the first, last, and only time. Joining J. Read and R. Forster were Revenge's
Vermin on guitar and Haasiophis on bass and vocals. The historic performance
was captured on video and previously released on DVD as part of the "War
Cult Supremacy" 20th anniversary reissue in 2016. The release of
"Nuclear Cult Supremacy" marks the first time the audio from this
performance has been decoupled from the video and mastered for release on
vinyl, CD and tape to preserve this monumental event |

Balmat
co-founders Philip Sherburne and Albert Salinas have been fans of Shy Layers'
lilting, Balearic pop for years, so when Shy Layers' JD Walsh asked us to
listen to a set of demos he was working up with fellow Atlanta
multi-instrumentalist Jeff Crompton, we jumped at the chance. And once we
heard their work in progress, the decision was almost immediate: We have to
release this. Together, Walsh and Crompton are Anagrams, and their debut
album together, Blue Voices, might initially seem like a departure from
Balmat's habitually electronic terrain. It's not ambient music, but it's also
not not ambient music, at least to listeners in the right frame of mind. The
two musicians, who met when Walsh moved from Brooklyn to Atlanta in 2016 and
began collaborating a few years later, see the music in similarly ambiguous
terms. "I like it because it's not jazz," jokes Crompton, a veteran
and credentialed jazz player. "And JD likes it because it's jazz."
Crompton is a musician (and former high-school band teacher) with deep roots
in Georgia's improvised and experimental music scenes; his credits include
shows with Eugene Chadbourne, a guest appearance with Godspeed You! Black
Emperor, and a collaboration with Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel's 12-hour
drone performance at Knoxville's Big Ears. On Blue Voices he plays alto and
tenor saxophone, clarinet, electric piano, and organ. Walsh has been
releasing music as Shy Layers since 2015, when he started self-releasing on
Bandcamp; the following year, Germany's Growing Bin packaged his first two
EPs as a self-titled album, and in 2018, Tim Sweeney's Beats in Space label
put out Shy Layers' sophomore album, Midnight Marker. Where those records
channeled Walsh's playful harmonic instincts into wistful songwriting with
tropical overtones, on Blue Voices he lets his experimental tendencies take
the lead. Playing acoustic and electric guitars, electric lap steel, bass,
Moog Matriarch, modular synth, and programmed drums, he concentrates his
energies on richly textural layers and abstract assemblages of tone color.
Across the album's 11 tracks, there are faint echoes of familiar touchstones:
the atmospheric twang of Daniel Lanois' pedal steel on Apollo: Atmospheres
and Soundtracks; the mercurial modal runs of Ethio-jazz; the late-summer calm
of Fuubutsushi; the versatility of players and composers like Patrick
Shiroishi and Sam Gendel, who are asking similar questions about where jazz
ends and some other, nameless territory begins. Mostly, though, what Blue
Voices captures is the quixotic sound of two restless musical imaginations
making it up as they go along, two voices discovering a shared language in a
hitherto unexplored shade of blue |

director Valentin Noujaim, based in Copenhagen. Within the grooves of this
vinyl masterpiece, you will discover four exquisite remixes thoughtfully
crafted by BASHKKA's esteemed friends: Roza Terenzi, Hyperaktivist, Sedef
Adasi, and AKUA. This illustrious ensemble perfectly encapsulates the essence
of the project--an impassioned homage to the tight-knit community of allies
and pioneering femme leaders who remain steadfast in their mission to

Hydrogen
Sea's third full album Creature Comforts is a luscious, fresh, and vibrant
collection of new songs that explore everything that offers us, fragile
creatures, physical and mental comfort, and makes us feel good. It's the
duo's first collaboration with producer Luuk Cox. The record sounds
unapologetically light and colorful but dares to look at the shadows. As the
soft-spoken TV painter Bob Ross once said, 'You need the dark in order to
show the light.' Hydrogen Sea started out in 2012 as the brain and love child
of the duo Birsen Uçar and PJ Seaux. For their most recent record Automata
from 2019, they wrote and performed in full band formation alongside Steven
Van Gelder, Joris Caluwaerts, and Patricia Vanneste. Forced by (but also
pretty much enjoying) the solitude during the pandemic, Birsen and Pj huddled
together in their studio and started to write and demo their Creature Comfort
songs. It was an attempt to find some hope, softness, and joy in the slow
apocalypses we live through. The duo wanted to explore sounds and themes that
offer us, fragile creatures, physical and mental comfort, and make us feel
good. On the other hand, Birsen's lyrics could never overlook the mechanism
of instant gratification and toxic consumerism. Above all, the new music was
Birsen and PJ's way of relieving their own stress and soothe their nervous
systems. In February 2023, after having written and recorded the bulk of the
songs in the solitude of their home studio, Birsen and PJ called in the
multifaceted skills of Luuk Cox. He was welcomed into their creative process
and produced and mixed the album, making it sound effortlessly bright, crisp,
and filled with color. After opening the album with the atmospheric Ammonite,
Hydrogen Sea offers you their first sun-filled single Candy. It is
deliciously addictive with catchy vocals, playful drums, guitar, and
percussion. Wine, PJ and Birsen's second single, starts out with bouncy
vocals but its sizzling synths and beat mark the darker side of things that
ignite pleasure in the world, pointing out that some creature comforts can be
addictive or toxic if repeated too often. Dragons kicks off gorgeously bare
and evolves into a sweeping, heart-pounding song with Birsen encouraging you
to breathe, even if there's smoke and fire coming out. Cherry Milk is an
upbeat invitation to go beyond superficial comforts and to try to talk about
it with others, because it's important to look at the unrest beneath the
surface. Wolves is a call to 'cradle every weird idea', to connect with your
body and your true wild self. Electrifying and hypnotic Mycelium dives into
the comforting psychedelic notion of never-ending and all-encompassing
interconnectedness. Appalachia paints a picture of desolate mountains and
describes the pitfalls of staring into the darkness too long. It also reminds
you of the importance of finding someone to crawl back up seemingly
insurmountable hills with. The velvety synths and vocals of Watermelon
transport you to magical 'butterscotch fields, under sangria skies'. Finally,
Creature Comforts ends elegantly with the brilliant and hope-filled Earth |

On
the second sampler the first gem on the A side is undoubtedly one of the
greatest pearls and trance compositions of the 90's, released on the
prestigious German label that all current techno producers revere: Le Petit
Prince. Microwave Prince 'Eternal Light' was, upon its release in 1995,
already an extremely difficult record to find. 28 years later, this has not
changed in the slightest. Closing the A side we have the essential DJ Wout
remix of Dave Kane's 'Zero Plus', an enormous hit in the early 00's in clubs
like La Bush, La Rocca, etc. The B side brings us the legendary Delerium
'Innocente', reinterpreted by Mr Sam in his iconic and now timeless 'The
Space Between Us Remix' and the German techno gem 'Don't Stop' by Mark N-R-G.
The C Side features 'Miracle', one of the most beautiful trance records ever
made coming straight from Germany in the person of Taucher, undoubtedly one
of the best producers of his generation. With S'N'S 'Conflicts' the C side
brings us another true genius, a future prodigy of progressive and melodic
house at the time of this release: Sander Kleinenberg. An emblematic record
at Extreme on Mondays if there ever was one. The D Side is taken up by two
tracks that take us even deeper into the essences of trance music with the
enigmatic track 'Together We Can Learn' by Awa. This mid 90's English trance
gem was already a collector's item upon its release, so it's our privilege to
have it on this sampler in 2023. As is the case with the second track 'Lonely
Casseopaya' by L.S.G., composed by one of the true pioneers of trance: Oliver
Lieb. This record is a treat for those who listen to it closely and feel the
classic 'after' vibe of our golden age of Belgian clubbing |

"El Caos Reina" by
Oxygeno is the new chapter of our label. This EP is made up of four raw,
mental and introspective tracks where the creator tells us the story of a
difficult and uncertain time. Side A opens with "Veneno En Los Labios",
an exercise with heavy drums, wrapped by a crunchy bass and a tense and
nostalgic atmosphere. This track is followed by "Condenados", a
more experimental, dark and anxious piece, where you can feel the terror of
the situation. On the B-side we first find "Grito Al Vacio", the
most energetic track, with a strong kick and bassline, cutting percussions
and a pad that appears as a desperate scream. In the last track but not
least, "As De Corazones", is the hypnotic piece of the album but

the IRIE ITES studio for a complete remastering and an eventful re-release.
Praise Ye Jah is the third studio album by Jamaican reggae singer Sizzla. It
was released on Xterminator on October 21, 1997. The songs were written by
Sizzla and produced by Philip "Fatis" Burrell. X-terminator is a
Jamaican dancehall label founded in 1987 and run by Philip "Fattis"
Burrell. It was undoubtedly the most popular reggae label from 1995 to 1998,
and is generally associated with the artists Luciano, Sizzla and Ini Kamoze |

Felix
has been working his Studio hard this past summer and caned out a whole bunch
of awesomeness! We are more than pleased to welcome him back on Dirt Crew
this year after his excellent new EP on “Bobby Donny” and the “Buster” jam
for our “Deep Love 2018” compilation. The A-side starts off with “Between
US”, a cool, pump-y and jazzy track with a hypnotic tribal bongo rhythm that
winds up in that typical Leifur swirl. Followed by the super deep “Hamburg
3011” that flicks an off-beat mash up of soul, guitar samples and funk hi-hat
vs snare groove that is just irresistible dance floor goodness, we can’t wait
to drop this on a massive sound system. Over to the musical world of that
B-side! What can we say, Felix changed his style quite a lot here and delivers
some bang on Electro with “Pinot Noir 1985” that just bounces in yer face
with a dope ass beat keeping those typical Leifur flavors alive with a warped
piano loop and delayed vocal snips. Second is the almost garage-y tune
“Modern Soul Classics” with massive subs underlaying the “Rhodes” and drum
cut ups, moody and deep in his signature style. The closing track is a real
Icelandic Bossa Nova affair! Silky ‘n smooth again he works that piano loop
towards eternity, we love this piece a lot! Reminding us of past 90s
electronica by the likes of “Sabres of Paradise” or “Nightmares on Wax”. The
best ending to this EP we could have hoped for! Enjoy this varied ‘n eclectic
EP by our Icelandic talent Felix Leifur and make your Autumn a hot one by
dropping these jams on the floor! |

New
York-based label Kindergarten Records is thrilled to unveil Ayesha’s debut
album, ‘Rhythm is Memory’ – 10 boundary-pushing tracks, a shape-shifting
percussive journey with electric moments. While intended for maximum
dancefloor impact, Ayesha’s first LP is also conceptually thought-provoking
and playful, exploring how bodies store and channel creative knowledge. A
self-taught producer, Ayesha relies on her instincts to make music: sensing
what her body wants to feel and hear. To her, essential to building a groove
is channeling what is already inside us – memories – whether they are based
on lived experience or coded in the body: culturally, ancestrally, or
intergenerationally. The result is this Indian-American producer’s distinct
rhythmic voice, with its many configurations boldly expressed across her
debut album. Kindergarten first released Ayesha’s material in 2020 with her
‘Natural Phenomena’ EP, a four-track journey which she described as “an
undulating love letter to nature and the dancefloor, [a] space where [her]
biophilia collides with her yearning for the dancefloor.” Subsequently, she
continued to build upon her luminous, scintillating sound with a contribution
to ‘Fluo II’ titled “Aspara Dub”, followed by “Varanasi” and “Downpour” on
‘Ether’, a split release with Sha Ru in 2021. With each release, Ayesha's
sound evolved, adding shades, layers, and perpetual rhythmic nuance to a mind
palace of dancefloor possibilities. That is why her and Kindergarten are a
perfect match -- driven by their mutual fascination with exploratory sonics
and a shared commitment to the community that inspires them. Kindergarten
Records has shaped itself into a trailblazing label, uniting a diverse and
innovative collective of local and international producers, while embodying a
strong familial atmosphere.This debut LP represents a significant step-up for
both the artist and the imprint, as they strive harmoniously towards a shared
goal: delivering a sonic experience full of colorful, otherworldly bass-fueled
expansion. ‘Rhythm is Memory’ captures Ayesha’s signature love for driving
techno and organic percussion, while at moments veering into newer electro
territory while keeping it psychedelic, spacious, dubby, and always playful.
This feels intuitively right for a producer at a crossroads in her career.
All tracks intricately weave together pulsing drum grooves, slinky synths,
nuanced melodies, and delightfully unexpected twists. No single genre can do
justice to describing this project as Ayesha delicately nods to many,
reveling in the spaces between. Undoubtedly, across A and B sides, 'Rhythm is
Memory' imparts the joy of sonic experimentation to listeners and dancers.
Ayesha invites us into her creative process and its steady evolution – rooted
in many days and nights of exploration, reflection, and repetition. "The
ritual practice of cultivating and tending a garden is what comes to mind if
I were to visualize this record. Beautiful things can emerge from care and
consistent attention," says Ayesha. While she refers to her specific
experience making 'Rhythm is Memory,' this powerful album culminates a decade
of working in nightlife for Ayesha – a project slated to leave an indelible

The name MONDO has its roots in
'MONDO MOVIES", an italian movie genre born in the 60's. Mondo movies
are characterized by documentary-like content that addresses several topics
from around the world ("mondo"). The Mondo label has the goal to
produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. Mondo
is inspired by library music, a genre frequently used as theme or background
music in radio, film and television in that very same period. Production
music libraries typically offer a broad range of musical styles and genres
describing everything ranging from deserts to war and sports. Library music
composers and session performers had no constraint at all. They typically
work anonymously, have rarely become known outside their professional circle
and they have produced what probably is the most creative music catalogue
ever. The Mondo productions start with four releases dedicated to seascapes;
scenarios range from sea fauna to poaching, from natural parks to sea dunes. Good

Titled
?Vernacular", the debut album by Blake Reyes is set to release on Axis
Records on Friday, October 27, 2023, in vinyl and digital formats. The album
is personally overseen by Jeff Mills, and is part of the "Axis
Jazz" collection. This confirms the eclecticism and versatility of both
Axis and Blake Reyes, through harmony and rhythm, cultural influences, and
the right touch of fusion: characteristics that have always defined jazz. The
album was recorded in three different cities (Bologna, Milan, and Rome), with
Jeff Mills present during all recording and mixing sessions. Particularly in
Milan, work was done at the Officine Meccaniche studios, where Duke
Ellington, Quincy Jones, and many others have recorded. ?Vernacular" is
an album that draws from jazz, Detroit techno and funk. It evokes operatic
work due to its aspiration to create strong emotional intensity. The album
features a blend of acoustic instruments such as acoustic bass, acoustic and
electronic guitars, and the Steinway & Sons Grand Piano - the same Duke
Ellington played in 1963 when he recorded ?The Symphonic Ellington"
album - alongside electronic instruments including drum machines and Roland
synths. ?I titled the album ?Vernacular' because I focused solely on
production and sound quality, drawing inspiration from vernacular art, as a
self-taught and artisanal approach in the noblest sense of the term",
Blake Reyes explains. ?The musical references can primarily be found in Jeff
Mills and his Millsart project, and more broadly in the works of composers
like Bruno Nicolai, Piero Umiliani, Piero Piccioni, Brian Bennett, John
Cameron, and even Raymond Scott. For the lyrics of the track ?At Night,' the
visual reference that inspired the lyrics can be traced back to certain
paintings by Henri Rousseau, particularly ?The Dream,' ?The Snake Charmer,'
and ?Sleeping Gypsy.' All of this was done in post-production, working
alongside Jeff Mills: a wonderful experience, a continuous flow and exchange
of ideas." Producer, DJ, and sound designer Blake Reyes (born Luca
Vertulli) divides his time between Milan and Ibiza. His productions
consistently focus on the sounds and emotions derived from tapes, samplers,
drum machines, and analog synthesizers. His mixes are broadcasted on stations
such as Ibiza Global Radio, Ibiza Sonica, Radio Raheem, and Olà Radio. His DJ
sets are distinguished by their elegance and quality, always bringing the
dancefloor to the right temperature. He boasts releases on Trax Records and
Rebirth Records, and in 2019, he founded Triton Records, his own record

There's
no denying Marcel Fengler's profound impact on the ever-changing techno
landscape. A pioneer in his own right, Fengler's works have flooded
dancefloors and set lists worldwide for decades, and that shows no sign of
changing anytime soon. His latest work is an all-encompassing four-track EP
titled "Unleashed", including a remix from sought-after Stuttgart
duo SHDW & Obscure Shape. Kicking off with the title track,
"Unleashed" introduces the EP with high-octane rhythms, pulsating
low frequency sonics and rave like harmonic layers. An unrelenting onslaught
of fast paced thumping techno, built around long, sweeping notes, vocal
injections and a piston-like bassline, this one was made for the height of
the party. "Caution" is next to feature, presenting itself as a
robust industrial number with harsh percussive drive and endless layers of
cadence throughout the mix. Weighty yet groovy in a unique up-tempo way, its
robotic vocal splashes make the perfect accomplice for its potent warehouse
vibes. "Cypher" pulls you into the second half of the EP with
rattling rhythms and more gritty sweeping musicality. Exhibiting the depth in
his production skills, Fengler loads up the mix with a kaleidoscope of
percussive elements alongside thumping kicks, surging synths, and another
haunting robotic vox before SHDW & Obscure Shape get their teeth into a
signature remix. Taking it deeper and darker, the duo's emphasis on subtle
progressions and increasing intensity throughout the mix with offbeat
trickery and creative unpredictability make their remix of "Cypher"
a certified peak-time bomb. "It has been quite a journey with this EP,
as I've been exceptionally discerning about the sound and the entire
production process. My goal was to create a release tailored for the dance
floor, with the right amount of energy for peak-time moments, while also
ensuring a profound and well-structured sonic experience. After testing
potential tracks in my DJ sets, I distilled what I believe captures the
essence I want to share with the audience. Furthermore, I'm thrilled to have
SHDW & Obscure Shape on board for a formidable remix. Their work carries
echoes of the raw and forceful sonic textures from earlier times, which I

interesting find for La Bella Di Notte who digs this super rare and weird
white label offering with some retro-futurist imagery. Things kick off with
"Space Disco". While the instrumental edit is a joyful, string-led
number, the dub edit takes vibe on a deeper, more clubby tip. "Elephungk
(Percapella)" closes side A, which is a wigged-out tech-house tune with
garnishes of intergalactic effects. "Head (F.)lu(X.)" on the flip
is a catchy, arpeggio-driven track with excellent sub-bass and a groovy
mid-paced house tempo. The journey ends with "Guiro" a slow,
electronic broken beat/synth workout with dark, alien undertones and
anti-gravity keyboard sequences. Do not miss this one! Collectors item! |

Rytm is back with more searing techno, this time in the form of a welcome
return to wax from venerated Aussie mainstay Shane Yates, aka Alpharisc.
Melbourne's Alpharisc has been making music since 1993, initially with humble
tools like the Commodore 64 and Amiga 500, before putting together and
building a growing collection of hardware. He has always maintained a
somewhat reclusive character since breaking through with the city's renowned
Wetmusik party and label collective following the release of his first EP in
1999 and has always kept a nostalgic touch in his music alongside his
signature Alpharisc sound. Following a string of digital EPs on the likes of
Future Retro Music, this is his first vinyl 12" in two decades as he
returns to Mutual Rytm following his appearance on the Federation Of Rytm II
compilation, serving up his bustling 'Ram Face' EP. The powerful 'Formation
Filter' opens up with a powerful techno groove built from rock-solid kicks
and rumbling bass that will rattle walls. Snares and synth rolls peel off the
drums as they race onwards and grow ever wilder and more intense for maximum
destruction. 'Circus Fear' is another stylish linear workout with lithe synth
details and loopy drums peppered with coarse claps and hits to up the ante,
while 'Hot Morning' brings even more fire with its big, churning percussive
clatter and supersized hi-hats racing along over more bulky beats. Things get
more unhinged with the hard-edged 'Ram Face', which has pummelling drums and
scraping hits forming a barrage of industrialised sound; a lead from a SID
chip will bring a smile to those who are familiar with its sound playing a
hypnotic lead over the top. The final track on wax, 'The Old One', builds up
cosmic tension, haunting synth lines and howling solar winds into another
peak time techno weapon. As always with the label, a digital bonus cut
'Hairyman' provides a special treat and delivers another frosty techno roller
with pent-up energy and compelling drum programming. Alpharisc 'Ram Face'
