activists Exit-Stance emerged from the anonymous new town of Milton Keynes,
coming together in l982 from the ashes of hardcore act Fuck Authority. Early
gigs which featured disturbing anti-religious images displayed behind the
group saw them banned from many a venue, but once Colin Jerwood of Conflict
got in touch, they decamped to the studio to cut the blistering EP While
Backs Are Turned, speaking out against animal testing and the perils of meat
market slaughterhouses, as well as negative aspects of Christian domination.

In
celebration of the 21st Anniversary of this popular Christmas double album,
Jeepster and War Child are releasing It’s A Cool Cool Christmas on vinyl for
the first time. Originally released on November 20th 2000 as a CD only
release, it will now be available on vinyl on November 19th 2021. This double
album is released with colourful inners within a wide spine sleeve. This
collection of songs is the definitive indie Christmas album and includes
contributions from a broad spectrum of indie giants, with songs ranging from
traditional standards to originals written specially for this collection.
This compilation contains both ballads and songs to pogo around the Christmas
tree to in equal measure and coincidentally is a compilation of twenty-one
songs re-released after twenty-one years. The highlights are Low’s much-loved
‘Just Like Christmas’, The Flaming Lips and their ‘White Christmas (demo for
Tom Waits)’, the Grandaddy track which is both wistful and amusing and Eels’
‘Everything’s Gonna Be Cool This Christmas’. In fact there is not a
second-rate filler on this album and there’s even a track from Lauren Laverne
recorded before she became a famous DJ. The original intention of creating
this album was to raise money for a worthy charity. War Child is an amazing
organisation that protects, educates and helps children get over the terrible
traumas they’ve suffered from war. The work done in their programmes has
alife-saving impact on children and their families in some of the most
dangerous places on earth |

Hanagasumi
Records presents the fifth release, this time you will hear multi-genre
electronic music in compilation format from wonderful artists who have their
own unique and inimitable musical vision. Many of the artists previously
released on labels such as Udacha, Rough House Rosie, Kimochi, Runout,
Resonance, Faktura. On the cover you see the numbered minerals of one large
gem, the mineral number is also the track number. Minerals come together to
create something beautiful, just like the tracks on this album. The
compilation opens with the instrumental track "Kamerton" by Shine
Grooves, which combines classical piano playing with atmospheric synth
sounds. The second track "Gods Gave" by Seal Bient & Jon'Smu is
filled with mystery and melodic sequences that gently fall on electro
rhythms. Continuing the journey, we come to the third track -
"Caleidoscope" from the legendary band Bipolardepth, very fragile
and thin sound matter, reminiscent of crystals, is connected with an ambient
mood. The fourth track "The Sun Changed To Rain" is the work of two
musicians - Michel and Shine Grooves, the composition is filled with house
percussions and magical synth parts, but has a relaxing effect. The last
track on side A is "Smelles" by Psor, you will hear house rhythms,
lots of delay and vocals - first class dub! The second side is opened by the
melodic IDM track "Muy Fragil" by Jon'Smu, atmospheric melodies are
combined with broken rhythms and futuristic percussion. The second track
"Fabrika" from the live improvisational band Ryabina is filled with
crystal clear sounds, electro rhythm and cosmic chimes. The third track
"Kwas" by Ronin combines a very slow and deep house groove that
runs very smoothly through synth sequences. The fourth track
"Lionwave" from the mysterious musician Phoboz, is an incredibly
beautiful dub techno that slowly leads to hypnosis. The album closes with the
ambient track "Runout 08.03" by X343 - a loop-shaped synth sequence
that can run endlessly in your head |

Speiz Bois is a trio of three
seasoned Hungarian musicians active in countless other projects (think of the
already cult Jazzbois outfit) playing a unique fusion of hip-hop, spaced out
psychedelic grooves and melancholic 80’s guitar sounds. ‘SpeizBanger’ on side
A is one of those timeless songs that are hard to be described, but we are
pretty sure this is what an imaginary demo by random members of BadBadNotGood
and Khruangbin, recorded in a smokey Budapest home studio would sound like.
‘BreakBottle’ on the flip starts off as a more conventional live groove until
the ethereal synths and guitar harmonies come in, from then it sounds like
the fictional demo described above. The single is limited to 300 copies,

"In-a-gadda-da-change" was originally recorded in Seattle and
released in 1993 only on CD format. Recorded prior to their Warner/Reprise
release 'Live my Way', 'In-a-gadda-da-change' finds Bloodloss squealing and
writhing in a swamp of sound where Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits gather on
an insane trip backed by a band of electric psychos, crooning about smoking,
toilets, back shaving, fish wives and dancing on hate street with such vigor
that you can-t help but cheer him them. Bloodloss' sound might be a bit
abrasive for Mudhoney fans, but their music is richly rewarding and truly

year of recording and this LP is a genre bending pile driver that has the
same energy as their self titled LP from 1983. The band features original
line-up core members Barrence Whitfield, Peter Greenberg and Phil Lenker
along with Andy Jody and Tom Quartulli who have been with the band a dozen
years. The LP was produced by Mike Mariconda and the Savages were joined on
this recording by Spencer Evoy on Baritone Sax. The Savages most recently had
a successful run of recordings on Bloodshot Records, having re-grouped in
2010. They continue to unleash their distinctive brand of rock & roll
that mixes up a cocktail of soul, blues and garage. It is timeless and highly

The
Black Dog's highly regarded album, Radio Scarecrow, is now remastered and
re-issued on Dust Science, 15 years after its original release on Soma
Records. Two years of constant development culminated in a masterpiece that
flows delightfully and hits hard. Marking a true progression from the band's
previous album, Silenced, the trio are keen to note: "The beats are
faster and the bass is much heavier - so much so, that it was making us ill,
working with the low frequencies for hours on end. We could only do 3 hours
at a time on some parts." Tracks like Floods v3.9 and Beep are a
testament to this. With throbbing basslines strong enough to make an impact
on the Richter scale, these tracks are best played out on big sound systems.
Radio Scarecrow unfolds gracefully, barely skipping a beat between tracks.
The act have created an album that demands to be listened to in its entirety.
With elements blending between tracks (the same kick drum being used to very
different means in Short Wave Lies and Siiiipher for example) and with
constant references to conspiracy theories and the supernatural, The Black
Dog present more than a collection of tracks. Influenced heavily by their
interest in Magick, Numbers Stations and Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP),
the act have hidden examples of these within their work. "These
transmissions and recordings (and people's interpretations of them) had a
strong influence on many of the final concepts and compositions, to the point
where we've been embedding coded messages and curses deep inside the
tracks" |

Debut
studio album by Dutch electronic music producer and DJ Speedy J (real name
Jochem Paap), Ginger was originally released in June 1993 as part of Warp
Records Artificial Intelligence series.
Remastered in 2021, the reissue contains the original design by
longtime Warp collaborators The Designers Republic. Rotterdam-based Jochem
Paap began creating techno tracks such as “Three O’Three” and “Something For
Your Mind” in his hometown to play out in clubs, and chose the artist name
Speedy J as a reference to his DJ skills. As commented on by All Music,
Paap's clear intent with Ginger was "to take his music out of the rave
and into the home-listening environment," and balance elements of the
manic energy that defined his early releases with a lush sound palette.
Writing and recording on his own in The Plant studio, the album was released
on a number of different labels internationally and brought his minimal but
melodic production style to a far wider audience, with critics noting his
meticulous attention to audio design, skillful use of track interludes (the
“Fill” tracks on Ginger, something Black Dog Productions also explored on
Bytes), and a careful balancing of four-to-the-floor grooves with ambient
textures. He released a second album with Warp, 1995’s G-Spot, and has
continued to make a diverse range of electronic music, included releases on
labels such as Mike Paradinas’ Planet Mu and Peter Namlook’s FAX
+49-69/450464, and showcasing a more experimental strand of releases via his
own Electric Deluxe imprint. The music on Ginger has been highlighted as a
seminal release in a number of retrospective features by the likes of

Created
over the span of two years, Balance 032 marks a creative high point in the
career of Madrid-based artist Henry Saiz, and this marks his third appearance
for the hallowed compilation series. Spread over an expansive three discs, it
has given him the space to curate a truly stunning odyssey of creative
expression-one influenced by everything from AI to his recent ADHD diagnosis.
As ever, he has gone above and beyond to ensure that the mix is crammed full
of exclusive, unreleased material-nearly 75% of the music included-both from
himself and many of his favourite producers and collaborators, from unknowns
through to household names like Röyksopp. "Since I've done two Balance
compilations already, I didn't want to repeat myself" he says. "My
first, 'Balance 19', was very important for my career and I knew people would
be comparing it with this new one, so I put a lot of effort into it to make
it more attractive and to be able to gain more control in the final product
sound-wise." - Henry Saiz. Created in Ableton, which he uses for his DJ
sets due to its unlimited creative functionality and precision ("I get
bored easily with CDJs"), the mix makes great use of many effects,
layerings, and production techniques to enhance the beautiful sounds that lie
within. The first part takes a freestyle approach to find a sweet spot
between home listening and club warm-up vibes, all woven together through a
narrative about the connection between the past, the future, the reinterpretation
of old concepts and AI. "I used a lot of AI techniques to add creativity
to the songs, from cloning vocals to generate atmospheres, to creating
grooves using text-to-music always like a tool in order to add to, and not to
replace human creativity. Ideally, we will work with AI as a co-pilot also in
the studio to make boring technical process faster and focus more on what
really matters: ideas to bring our human experience into the music
form." - Henry Saiz. Packed with symbols and messages, its changing
tempos span the creepy vaporwave intro of Hal Incandenza's 'I Know What You
Are' - setting the tone perfectly with an AI voice telling a human "I
know what you are, I know where you come from" - through to chugging
electronica, dubby grooves, Indian rhythm, Balearic spoken word, sparkly
breakbeats and teases of the clubbier sounds that await in the next disc. The
euphoric climax of Saiz's rework of Swedish duo Genius of Time's recent
release 'Sunswell' is the perfect bridge into Disc 2, a whirling firework of
pretty melody and spine-tingling arpeggiation. The breadth and surprises of
this first disc would have made it a standout piece of work on its own, but
of course that's never enough for Saiz... The second part leans towards the
sounds of Henry Saiz in club mode, beginning with the warm blanket of
sumptuous Milio's 'Dew', building gradually and flitting between the deep and
the soaring. From lush progressive house to the heavenly breaks of Brassica's
epic 'Celestial Suspension' through some truly staggering new psychedelically
tinged material from Saiz, it's a mix packed with magical melody. The disc
crescendos with the scintillating riffs of Henry Saiz & Imalgi's
'Kickboxer', where synths are made to weep digital tears, and the stunning
liquid breaks and heartfelt vocals of Moonlight Wolves 'All I Need (Third Son

Pruillip
is a new Belgian band founded by Louis Evrard (Bert Dockx Band, Grid Ravage,
Ottla) and Annelies Van Dinter (Echo Beatty, Takh & Naga Ghost). The duo
started about 2 years ago after a request to play at De Nor, the open air
sculpture park and venue of Dennis Tyfus. For this occasion Annelies and
Louis decided to do a position switch and play each other's instruments:
Annelies beating the hell out of the drums and Louis ripping up the guitar.
Pruillip: the record: Visceral meditation: that's what the self titled debut
album of Pruillip is all about. Eight songs channeling elemental emotions,
kickin' deep into the internal organs of the body. Low end frequency swagger
droning up from Louis Evrard's amp, ready to slip into 'Place All Your Cards',
slow burning sludge nugget, bolstered by the steady drum kicks of Annelies
Van Dinter, where every note and strike seems to carry the weight of the
world. Navigating through life, seducing you with her gloomy voice. Entering
a quest into the unknown, a place you don't want to leave. A feeling
increased by the abrasive and brutal 'Boterham': a punk sludge anthem for the
hungry and the wild at heart, countered with the reverb-shrouded murmur
'Distracted Enthusiasm'. The lonely 'Zonnedauw' sets the mark of an
apparently more resigned B-side, stretching the Pruillip universe with
primitive, but so addictive, riffs in 'Mirrors', echoing vibes of 90's desert
sessions while 'Offload' and the lucid state of Ataraxia seems to drift on
raw emotions and a sweaty claustrophobic tension, which would fit perfectly
in Wim Wenders Paris Texas movie. A whirlwind of a record, straight to the
bone, leaving you flabbergasted and wanting for more |

Closely
following a busy 2023, GiGi FM announces her brand-new record label, offering
“Kiwi Synthesis Diary Vol. 2” to mark the debut. Sea~rène takes aim at
dreamlike and ethereal electronic music to reconnect the subconscious and the
cosmos through immersive storytelling. As the identity quote of the label
says itself “We are Sea~rène swimming in-between supernatural tides, forever
following the emotional waves of the universe”. Already quite accomplished in
her milieu through an acclaimed release on Bambounou’s Bambelabel, where she
explored the relationship between bodily technologies and music, as well as
through her residency on NTS Radio where she explores inter-dimensional
sounds and shares her own musical palette, GiGi also continues to perform at
strings of performances in the past years in settings like Berghain, Rural
Japan, Draaimolen, Fabric, De School, Primavera, The Bunker New York, and
Sustain Release. The French/Italian artist takes her productions further with
this first release of her imprint. A continuation of her first self-released
project, “Kiwi Synthesis Diary 21k,” in 2021, GiGi FM celebrates the exchange
between her, as the owner of the journal, and its reader through euphoric
soundscapes and vibrant psychedelia. Taking a step back from lockdown
introspections, blurred lines between dream and reality like ambient and
drony atmospheres, GiGi gives us a bent club record full of colors and life.
GiGi FM guides us through dreams of sonic environments and the adventures to
be had through them. Some are characterized by evolving fractals and shifting
landscapes like in the healing mushroom journey of ‘Amadamushies’ and the
mythical Japanese Heron ‘Tsuru’. Combining steady rhythm and immersive
ambiances, the result intends to soothe into a state of openness through
kindly familiar territories. Sifting through the tracks, we find ourselves
traveling fast through cosmic ecosystems like in the spiritual and cosmic
teaching that “Tevora'' represents, as well as ‘Househopping (Keroppi)’ and
“Sly Xupete Di Barcelona,” conveying the urgency to feel and create, even
within difficult circumstances, while “Spazio Teletrasporto'' takes us on a
hypnotic whirlwind trip into the depths of the cosmos and our inner
consciousness. Through these chapters of a journey, a connection between the
mind and the beyond is implied, and its importance is highlighted. Deeply
influenced by astrology, philosophy, and the cosmos; for GiGi, music is both
a tool for expression and introspection. As a multi-hyphenate artist, she
continues on her quest to push artistic boundaries and hold space for unique
audience experiences. Whatever medium she may adopt, the result is a rich

Acid Reflux is an EP compiled by
Acid Adams that focuses on acid sounds from different times, genres and
genders. The journey starts with the deep and melodic excursions by Nihilist
and softcoresoft before we enter a sweaty basement to get lost to rough and
punchy tracks by ADSX and Ida Bux. On both sides, a track from the 90s (which
has never been released on vinyl before) is followed up by a new composition
that was inspired by its predecessor and has been produced especially for
this release. Since the 90s-tracks are exclusively by male producers, the
concept tries to balance this era-inherent state of affairs with the fact
that the new tracks are solely by finta* artists. On a meta-level, this
release is about connecting times, genres and genders, beyond forms of binary
thinking. The record comes in a reused sleeve from the 90s with a fresh logo
sticker designed by Frieedland and a promo sheet like back in the days |

Mike Redman is usually synonymous
to ear-shattering music under his own name and his alias 'Deformer', but for
years he's also known for having an impressive background in film and
television. In great contrast to his other musical projects his filmscores
hit a different note, but are equally as effective in their own way. His
latest score 'The UFO's of Soesterberg' reinforce a documentary film by
director Bram Roza that covers Holland's biggest, yet mysterious UFO case

cooked up with his brother, Breaka and collabing with Bristol head Sam Binga.
The young producer comes back to Time Is Now, following up the best-seller
Take It Further EP from last year with a tasty five tracker of UKG
experimentation. Title track, "Bring It Back", uses a playful sound
palette of 00s grime that swirls into a hardcore onslaught of breaks,
bassline and screeching ruffage, kicking of the record with a statement.
Manchester vocalist Slay joins the party on "Vibing Season",
building up in long atmospheric chords before Slay's bars spiral into play,
pacey, dirty and clever over explosive glitches and ear candy pops. Bringing
it right back down to minimalism with sparing two-step, "No Name
Groove" features Kasia's soulful piano echoing throughout with
call-and-response sampling, a classy take on early garage tracks. On
"Reduced Vision", otherworldly sub bass chases down vocal stabs,
rumbling underneath this expansive heads down number. "Poison Dart"

If
it’s a smorgasbord of rare mellowtronica and dance music from two of the UK’s
most esteemed curators you’re after, then you could do worse than to check
out this brand new reissue of Late Night Tales: Groove Armada that was
originally released in 2008. For their second team-up with the legendary
label (and a release that even the BBC admits 'offers a selection of some
great tunes'), Andy Cato and Tom Findlay have painstakingly compiled a
collection of songs so varied, it’ll leave even the most open-minded listener
occasionally scratching their head. And yet, somehow, it works - from an
unlikely cover of Gary Numan’s ‘Are (Friends) Electric?’ to the arcane
Americana of Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve’s mix of Roscoe via a Balaeric edit
of Will Young and a White Isle-ready edit of Chris Rea’s Josephine, the good
ship Armada never fails to entrance. All aboard! “When I look back on my
career the two things I’m probably most proud of were the compilations we
curated and the live show. They were two things I think we do really well.
How many of them are still tunes that I play now? Obviously it's got
‘Josephine’ which is an Ibizan anthem and it’s soundtracked all my best times

beachside bars or an afterparty somewhere, and you play that record and it

Altered
Circuits' next release comes by way of Bologna-to-Berlin transplant Jacopo
Latini. On the Motherboard EP he combines stubby drums and sultry, efficient
basslines with richly hued synth work. Once the cuts get going, a tapestry of
melody reveals itself: gated leads are accompanied by burbling arpeggios,
momentous chord progressions and bright pads that crawl in and out. The
patches often incline to the bright and dreamy but are deployed with
restraint; in the same vein, concealed and aloof vocal samples get sprinkled
in. These techniques - staples for the artist - add an inscrutable quality to
his work's mood. It is dance music that feels direct on the surface yet hides
more ambiguous emotions underneath. Being a DJ was Latini's first approach to
the electronic genres, and it arguably still is his main inspiration - it
even occurs he writes tracks with a specific venue in mind. Since starting
over a decade ago, and having meanwhile swapped the local Italian stages for
the international ones, he has amassed a ton of analogue gear to help him do
so. On this occasion, he plugged in his Roland D-50, Moog Sub 37 and
microKorg XL, among other favorites, to take on progressive, trance and tech
house. "Motherboard", "High Voltage", "It Comes In
The Morning", and "Dual Effect" make for a diverse selection
but have indeed the same objective: the club floor |

With
this EP release we kick off MEUK, a new Rotterdam based electronic music
collective founded by Denn Punk and Eva Bohnen. 'Meuk' means 'junk' or
'mess'. We both base our music on old school techno and for us techno should
be a bit messy. Whether it's junk or not, that's up to you to decide. The
MEUK EP starts with the vocal oriented track 'Lekkere Track' by Denn Punk and
really sets the tone of the EP. You definitely hear Denn's old school groovy
signature sound: indispensable in every (hard)groovy set. Op z'n Rotterdams:
deze track is gewoon lekker! Especially for this release, Eva Bohnen presents
her debut track 'Rauwe Groef' (Raw Groove). With a sharp synth sequence that
is central to a hard groove. And of course all finished with a raw edge. The
track 'Achterstevoren' refers to Denn Punk's 'reversed' signature sound. The
ear candy of this track really is the pad that gradually appears and floats
and bounces harmoniously through the groove. The last but certainly not the
least track on the EP: 'Binnenstebuiten'. Translated as 'inside out'. A real
old school track with the recognizable reversed kicks and grooves of Denn
Punk. Halfway through the track turns inside out with a thick filter, hence
the title. A perfect last track for this (hard)groovy MEUK EP |
