Skarra
Mucci is a Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall artist born in Kingston. Known as
the "Dancehall President", his career counts 7 solo albums,
including the essential "Return of the Raggamuffin" (2012) and
countless classics and cult collaborations, such as the hit "My
Sound" from the album "Greater Than Great" (2014) which
exceeds 15 million cumulative Spotify and YouTube streams and the critically
acclaimed album "Dancehall President" (2016) with its tour of more
than 100 dates around the world, from Mexico to China. 5 years after the
release of "Skarra Mucci & The One Love Family" (2018), this
essential figure of Jamaican music, with his versatile flow and recognizable
voice, announces a new studio album with multiple influences "Perfect
Timing", which is scheduled for release on September 29, 2023. The album
opens with a hybrid roots-tinged hip hop riddim. Brass and percussion
resonate throughout the track as Skarra Mucci gives way to a mesmerizing
voice sample that gives the track “Here I Come” all its depth. An
introduction that sets the tone for an album tinged with a mix of genres by
Skarra Mucci and his team of top producers brought together by Undisputed
Records. "Perfect Timing" is indeed an ode to Reggae of all eras,
full of nods to the Sound System culture, from its beginnings to the present
day. From the choice of the featurings to that of the producers, nothing is
left to chance to offer us a journey through the highlights of this rich
culture which has never ceased to evolve, without any period being left
behind. For his 1st single, it is with a major player in the current Reggae
scene that Skarra Mucci has chosen to announce the release of his 8th solo
album by inviting the Martiniquais Yaniss Odua on the title "Roots Rock
Reggae". Accustomed to albums teeming with successful collaborations,
"Perfect Timing" is obviously no exception to the rule. We find in
particular on the title "Street Dance" the essential French
producers of L'Entourloop, with whom he released the very successful EP
"Golden Nuggets" (2019, 6 titles, 17M cumulative streams Spotify
and YouTube) to drop once again a banger between Hip-Hop and Dancehall in
line with their huge 2013 hit “Dreader Than Dread” (38M combined Spotify and
YouTube streams). Jamaican legend Johnny Osbourne also takes part in the
celebration for a version of his classic of the digital era "What A La
La", with Skarra Mucci on the Stalag riddim replayed for the occasion by
the beatmaker specialist in the matter: Manudigital. Skarra Mucci continues
his exploration of various styles and influences with the very groovy
"Dancehall", produced by the musicians of Dub Akom, in which he
lets us perceive all his class and his swing. We also find the massive “Who
Fool Them”, a UK stepper track produced by Evidence Music, but also the
future Dancehall classic “Rappa Pam Pam”, or the huge “Misty Babylon” in a
much more Roots register. The album "Perfect Timing" ends with the
eponymous title, on a riddim and Lovers Rock melodies carried by a joyful
piano and a groovy bass. A finale in the form of a declaration of love for
Reggae, this music which gave him so much and to which he gave everything.

Trip Trap, TRIP's sub-label GALAXIID releases the debut album by the Species
Of Fishes duo. The record, originally released by the Dutch experimental
label Korm Plastics in 1994, has influenced two generations of post-Soviet
musicians. 'Some Songs of a Dumb World' is like a quest that you can either
take up or appreciate as a mosaic of different music styles. Igor Kolyadny
and Vitaly Stern initially worked separately but later shared ideas during
home sessions to build their own psychedelic world. They used a large number
of cassette samples, including the voices of physicists, paranormal
researchers, astronomers, and wildlife TV show hosts, combining them with
pulsating rhythms inspired by various electronic music genres. The result, as
the duo described it in an Inverted Audio interview
(https://inverted-audio.com/feature/species-of-fishes-envelop-the-expanse-for-newtype-rhythms/),
is 'a sort of alienated, extraterrestrial, studying view on the sound
component of human activity.' For the very first time, the tracks from the
debut album by Species Of Fishes are now available on vinyl. The double LP
reissue with the refreshed version of the original artwork includes the original
tracks, mixed between 1993 and 1994, but re-edited and remastered by Igor
Kolyadny in 2021. Two tracks were released on the lesser-known follow-up
'Songs of a Dumb World Part 2', while "Salmon Hunting/Kaluga-Mars"
is being released for the first time |

Wisconsin native, James Siegfried
(aka James Chance & James White), dropped out of the Wisconsin
Conservatory of Music in 1976 and hightailed it straight to New York City,
where he quickly immersed himself in both the robust free jazz scene, and the
burgeoning No Wave/post-punk scene. Quite the diverse and layered musician,
James studied under sax legend David Murray while simultaneously forming No
Wave legends Teenage Jesus & The Jerks with then girlfriend Lydia Lunch.
Drawing huge influences from James Brown and Ornette Coleman, James formed
The Contortions in late '77. They burned fast and strong and were broken up
by 1980 but not before releasing two seminal pieces of No Wave, Buy and this
album, under the pseudonym of James White & The Blacks. Every bit as
strong an album as its predecessor, Off White belongs in any self-respecting
No Wave & NYC post-punk collection. An absolute stone classic back in

After
the legendary French Ethno-industrial group Vox Populi! faded into obscurity
in the early 1990s, members Arash Khalatbari, Ariel Kyrou, Axel Kyrou,
Chester Harlan, Mithra, Pierre Jolivet and Francis Manne all embarked on new
artistic adventures in their own way. Some, like bassist Francis Lafont aka
fr6 Manne, aka Kosa Nostra, aka Kosa and Friends, left Paris to make a
profound change in his life. He settled in Lyon and traded his job as a
graphic artist and musician for that of a landscape designer. From his pure
artistic universe, he has never stopped making music. Alone or with others,
he follows his sound inspirations, multidisciplinary, already present on the
label Vox Man records, founded in 1982 with Axel Kyrou. Together, as early as
1984, they started publishing the famous "Audiologie" compilations,
an audio fanzine presenting a contemporary point of view on the experimental,
noisy and avant-garde electronic music scene of the time. In particular, the
three "Alterntative Funk" compilations that have become collector's
items for fans of weird and ambitious electronic music. Today, Notte Brigante

recordings that illustrate Francis Laffont's ongoing musical creation
following the dissolution of the group Vox Populi! With the music and video
collective "Kosa and Friends," he welcomes attentive listeners into
an eccentric world of pop and poetry, experimentation and groove. Kosa blurs
the lines between proto funk and post punk, indus and cold wave, all steep
and intriguing sonic territories among which Francis and his collaborators
navigate endlessly. The cover of the record is an "action painting"
by fr6 Manne. A collage which underlines the experimentalism of the music by
a crossed and unique composition. This cover reminds us of fr6 Manne's
graphic work, which has appeared on many album covers (Vox Populi, Bain
Total) and compilations (notably Audiologie, released in 1988, accompanied by
his fanzine named Ethniques Urbaines). Through an audacious collection of
sounds and visions, this album testifies and documents the unexplored
universe of a visionary musician of the French avant-garde and his peer

1982 Demos is an unreleased set
of demo tracks intended for a follow-up album to Black Flag's debut album
Damaged (1981). The tracks recorded show the band moving in a riff-driven,
heavy metal-inflected direction, away from the pure hardcore punk of the first
album. Due to legal issues, the album was never recorded, though most of the
tracks were re-recorded for later albums. Though never officially released,
the recordings have been widely bootlegged. The only recordings with Chuck

top a 1982 offering from synth pioneer Patrick Cowley: an experiment inspired
by the neighborhood sound systems of Mexico, and its relationship with the
1980's Hi NRG (high energy)movement. In those years, the banda and punk kids
identified and adapted the coldness of Alan Vega with the transgression of
Divine, generating a street identity in Mexico City, since the sound systems
have always been deeply rooted in marginalized neighborhoods all over the
world, and Mexico was no exception. Taking to the streets was frowned upon,
it was considered a rebellious and self-management act. Telekrimen considers
this production an act of rebellion against the hipster movement of the
garage and the now normalized psychedelic expressions of CDMX. A cover of
Swedish novelty-rocker Eddie Meduza's "Reaktorn Läck I Barsebäck" -

the late 1970s and early 1980s, Barry Brown was one of the handful of
upcoming artists that came to define the emerging dancehall style as a singer
with a distinctive high tenor that was instantly recognizable, and one which
inevitably made a lasting impression on the listener. His lyrics were witty,
gritty, and full of gusto, typically addressing the trials and tribulations
facing the underprivileged, but also celebrating the positive aspects of
ghetto life, including the irresistible lure of the local sound systems, the
need to enjoy a loving relationship with a woman, and the various other joys
one may encounter along the way. Most of the work on Love & Protection,
an intriguing compilation that surfaced in the mid-1990s, brings us back to
Barry Brown's peak period as heard on the Cool Pon Your Corner and Far East
LPs, along with the original unembellished mixes of two EPs released by Black
Roots, as well as some harder to trace material, such as the vibrant digital
title track. Running the gauntlet from 'Reality' tunes to dance numbers to
songs of loving romance and everything in between, it ultimately emphasizes

On this fifth and final instalment of the Time Crystals series,
Gabriel D'Or & Bordoy (GBD) takes the first turn with a fierce track,
fittingly called "Saw"; its driving fundament alternated with
rousing synths. Pyramidal Decode's second track provides a break from the
four to the flour patterns, before handing over to old friend of the label
UUN, whose "Seeking the End" is a true peak time banger. Polish
Szmer has the honor to provide not only this EP's last track but also for this
entire series. He does so in the form of "SEQ3", a track that
embodies what Dynamic Reflections 15-year discography stands for in the first
place: artists from all corners of the world, young and old, respecting what
generations before them have built up while turning it into something new.

time. Brought to you by the 333 Frequency label, the legendary Malaga-based
producer Colombo and his incombustible sister-in-arms, Dassier Chams, have
released their latest breakbeat masterpiece. Pure, non-stop virtuosity is one
way of describing this musical treatise, which condenses the essence of the
last 30 years of breakbeat into 4 outstanding cuts. Throughout these 4
tracks, the pair take you through a range of transcendental moments, from
mental passages, dance floor drops and cosmic transitions, to epic pauses and
frantic crescendos. There are also countless sensations and narratives that
listeners will be able to experience for themselves all faithful to the
label's distinctive sound, where outstanding bass and rhythm work plays a

Eusabia immediately throws down the gauntlet showcasing an inimitable
versatility with breakbeats, permeated with a jungle flex so rarely captured
in the atmospheric D&B landscape. Pivoting effortlessly as the track
progresses from drumloop to thunderous drumloop with a simmering haunted
atmosphere and deep, weighty basslines to yearning filtered vocal samples,
this track has it all. A2 - The Space Between: Smooth jungly synthwork seizes
the foreground before crisp breaks begin to reveal our direction through The
Space Between, jittery key stabs and familiar old school FX create a unique
sci-fi style backdrop as the breaks drive the vibe forward, switching and
weaving in style, constantly mixing it up to ram the point home that you
cannot fully appreciate a Eusabia track until every second has been consumed
- many times over, as The Space Between demands. AA1 - Scope of
Understanding: A more contemplative piece, Scope of Understanding strips
things back with a synthwave-esque vibe tinged with intrigue and allure. Soon
the breakbeats leap into gear and develop with an incredible level of refined
detail, expertly edited, chopped and cut to a darkly undertone of sub bass and
subtle micro melodies. Scope of Understanding will leave you in awe of the
quickfire ideas Eusabia can conjure in the space of 6 minutes. AA2 - Self
Reflection: A smooth atmospheric introduction ushers in a thumping drum tools
workout, somehow perfectly in sync with the calm harmonies dancing around in
the composition. Certainly a track to enjoy both on the discerning dancefloor
and while driving home with rain lashing at the windscreen at 2am, Self
Reflection's synths and breaks conclude the EP in style leaving a long

If
any album could conjure up the revolutionary spirit of Jamaica in the mid
1970s,Tapper Zukies invincible M.P.L.A. set would surely be a fighting
contender. The coming together of great rhythms and meaningful lyrics in a
time of unrest in the country seemed to have made the album all the more
urgent and relevant. As time would tell it would also prove to be a lasting
success, not only with the hard core reggae fans but also their punk
counterparts.Who embraced its militant themes and crossed the album over to a
whole new audience. Tapper Zukie (b. David Sinclair, Kingston, Jamaica.) had
already returned from a trip to London England by the mid 70s .Initially sent
with help from his parents, brother Blackbeard and producer Bunny Striker Lee
to remove the youth from his troublesome ways on the streets of Kingston,
Jamaica. He had performed some live shows in London and made some recordings
for Larry Lawrence, that produced his debut Jump and Twist. Alongside other
recordings that would emerge as his Man A Warrior set. But feeling homesick
he had returned to Jamaica in 1974 to work with Bunny Lee. His work would
consist of arranging sessions and collecting payments to bodyguard, the now
very successful producer. His frustration of Bunny Lees reluctance to record
him led him cutting Judge I Oh Lord for producer Lloydie Slim. Bunny Lees
then recording of Tappers Natty Dread Dont Cry and its subsequent release
aboard, led to an altercation between Tapper and producer. The police had to
be called and an offer to provide the singer with a set of rhythms put this
matter to rest.The eight rhythms and a further two from Jo Jo Hookim and
Ossie Hibbert alongside some free studio time at King Tubbys Studio would
result in the M.P.L.A album. The rhythm provided by Jo Jo Hookim was a
Channel One studio cut by The Revolutionaires based on Little Richards
Freedom Blues and provided the backdrop to M.P.L.A.The Ossie Hibbert rhythm
again cut at Channel One based on The Royals 'Pick Up The Rockers would
provide the backdrop to Tappers Pick Up The Rockers. These and the remaining
Bunny Lee rhythms, were all cut in a one hour session, at King Tubbys Studio.
Dont Get Crazy cut on a rhythm based on the Joe Frazier rhythm to Tony
Brevetts Dont Get Weary.Go De Natty cut on Cornell Campbells Please Be True,
originally a cut to Alexander Henrys Please Be True. Stop The Gun Shooting
runs over Horace Andys Skylarking.Ital Pot cut on Johnny Clarkes version of
Burning Spears Creation Rebel. Marcus sees Tapper professing over Johnny
Clarkes Poor Marcus .Chalice To Chalice pulls on Johnny Clarkes Give Me a
Love, Dont Deal With Babylon answers Junior Ross and The Spears Babylon Fall
and Freedom rides on the great rhythm of Junior Ross and The Spears Liberty.
An outstanding album cut by one of Jamaicas finest DJs and producers the

the occasion of the release of the book “AtomTM, the noncon- formist
virtuoso”, the Valencian labels Fill-Lex Records and In- dustrial Complexx
join forces to release “Transitions”, a limited edition of only 200 copies
that brings together a select compila- tion of tracks by Lassigue Bendthaus
on side A, and the EP The Overcom by AtomTM. Side A opens with Transitory
(Anti-Matter Edit), an alternative version released only on the 1991 CD maxi
Automotif, in which the German producer shows a premature ability to generate
com- plex rhythmic patterns and futuristic electronic textures. Infor-
mation, the second cut on this A-side, was originally released on Biohazard
in 1992 and its sound mixes influences from styles such as EBM and electro.
Render appears on the album of the same name, released in 1994 and only on
CD, and here we can observe the sonic evolution of Lassigue Bendthaus in
which he integrates a heavier rhythm. The B-side of Transitions hosts the two
tracks from The Overcom EP, released by AtomTM in digital format in May 2022.
Kuro- sawa sounds like a transgressive industrial with a fast cadence. On The
Overcom, the EP’s closing track, the rhythmic intensity continues, and even
intensifies to the point of focusing much of the track on percussive
patterns. AtomTM, the nonconformist virtuoso is a book that explores the
artistic evolution of one of the most multifaceted and ver- satile producers
on the international electronic music scene. It offers an insight into the
progression and different musical paths that this German artist has taken
since the mid-80s to the present day |

repress - Barcelona-based DJ, crate digger and producer Lis Sarroca makes her
debut on Shall Not Fade's coloured vinyl series marking the tenth release on
the imprint. Taking influence from her extensive travels - before lockdown
hit - Sarroca mixes classy 90s house rhythms with standout melodies. No Wait
EP follows on from her 2020 release on Hot Haus Records. Sarroca describes
her music as "danceable, energetic, deep and warm", an ethos
reflected throughout this EP. Despite dabbling in variations on dance music,
stripped back disco to punchy tech house rhythms, this record is accomplished
and consistent, coming together to deliver memories of sweaty summer club
nights. "No. Wait" references French filter house, pairing a chugging
bass and booming kick drum with sparkly disco keys into one very sultry
track. In "La Neta" Sarocca turns her attention to electro with the
squelching bassline and drum machine loops but uplifting chords bring it back
to house roots. There's a little bit of Kraftwerk in "Round &
Round", a hypnotic pulsing track with synths of a distinctly German
sound palette; it's the darkest moment on the record. The B-side is expansive
feel-good house, "Hi Montana" plays with dramatic strings while
"Get This Right" is a certified summer anthem of sharp chord stabs
and clean bassline made for the beer garden. No Wait closes with
"AX", a piece of fun cowbell-smattered organ house |
