The
Last Dead Brothers Album - Death is everywhere. Death is forever, that's why
we should embrace death just like life itself.'If you're afraid of death,
you're already dead' Alain Croubalian. Brother Alain Croubalian (1964-2021)
is dead now, he passed away in the middle of recording this album and takes
us on his final journey of the stories he wrote over the years with his many
fellow musicians. We as the label VRR were very lucky to work with such great
musicians, to have gained their trust and to have released some of the best
Swiss recordings with him since 1999.About these recordings it should be said
that Alain left us towards the end of the sessions and we worked closely
together with his text partner&poet Marc Littler to bring these songs to
final life, Resli Burri and Bertrand Siffert mixed, snipped and refined all
the tracks together, and these very last songs are now available on this
wonderful recording, with Luc Navette drawing the cover. 'Wayfaring Stranger'
was the last song The Dead Brothers ever recorded, and a wish of those left
behind to see this as a farewell and also welcome song from the incredible
The Dead Brothers. The Dead Brothers started out as a funeral band and now
play their own, knowing that they have inspired many musicians and bands
around the world (The Dresden Dolls, Gogol Bordello etc). You don't know THE
DEAD BROTHERS, the one and only Death Blues Funeral Orchestra yet? The Dead
Brothers are in a class of their own: A ,funeral orchestra' that penetrates
deep into the soul with the death blues. Rough but with a very warm attitude

a first track “Too Fast” and 2 remixes released in 2022, Supa will share its
firstEP on Lille’s label Besides records. Named Colours, this EP is a fusion
of the duo’s influences, between UK garage, house and african, indian or
oriental sounds and rhythms. Global groove diggers for 15+ years, the duo
pays particular attention to the UK music scene and its capacity to bring
multiple influences into highly danceable tracks. It’s been a few months now
that the duo started working on this EP, from live residencies to studio
time, they synthesized in these 6 tracks all of their love for hybrid,
genre-blending and dancefloor-friendly music! Their experience as DJ’s,
promoters and radio programmers made them want to share their music to a
wider audience. They thus bring their own sound, while nothiding their

early 1960s, the high school students who made up the legendary surf rock
outfit The Surfaris scored an incredible hit with their debut instrumental,
'Wipeout,' and its sung B-side 'Surfer Joe' would be belatedly hailed as a
classic, but the circumstances of the hit's reissue by Dot led to a faux
debut album that only featured the band on those two songs. Play was the
bonafide 1963 debut LP that solidified their reputation, with urfing Drums'
reportedly inspiring Keith Moon: a one-off take of the Batman theme is
enjoyable, but the originals really delight. Calling all surf rock fans: this
genre-defining LP is an absolute must have! |

- Atmospheric Entry: Aural Imbalance opens his latest Spatial EP with an
immense, synth-laden track edited to perfection. Wonderfully robust rolling
amens, programmed with inspired analogue sensibilities capture the timeless
essence of yesteryear, an anxious, wistful undertone punctuates the
surrounding melodies, resulting in a slice of inspired jungle which will fit
neatly in your record box as well as being that perfect Sunday evening number
you can quietly lose yourself to. A2 - Lysithea: Opening with an immediate
dancefloor impact, Lysithea utilises an addictive, memorable breakbeat
pattern with thrusting snares and excitable hi-hats to craft a classic old
school serenity, riddled with the washing waves of ambient soundscapes that
intersect jubilantly to the breaks. A piece which demonstrates Aural
Imbalance's versatility in the genre, blending an abundance of both adjacent
and paradoxical techniques to the mix. AA1 - Altered Perception: Thick,
enveloping atmospheric synths open Altered Perception, a track perfect to
reset the mind with delicately balanced serene tones and a smooth drumloop.
The breakdown arrives and the star of the show reveals itself for the second
half, an unforgettable earworm melodic bassline that elevates the track to new
heights. When the graceful outro knowingly takes its bow, you will be left to
reflect on something quite special. AA2 - Mountain Sky: Aural Imbalance
closes the EP in style with an uneasy array of effects stuttering around
tense synths to create an eerie introduction to Mountain Sky, before finely
edited Hot Pants breaks and a delicious 808 bassline begin their calculated
phonic onslaught to the ears. We are treated to an impressive medley of
classic atmospheric inspiration here, rounded of superbly with a nicely

It's
no secret that Epitaph Records has been the breeding ground for some of the
most legendary bands in existence and MAGNOLIA PARK carry on in that
tradition with their highly anticipated debut full-length, Baku's Revenge.
Since forming in Orlando, Florida, in 2019, the six-piece act - vocalist
Joshua Roberts, guitarists Tristan Tor res and Freddie Criales, bassist Jared
Kay, drummer Joe Horsham and keyboardist Vincent Ernst - have released an EP,
mixtape and handful of singles and toured with everyone from Sum 41 to Simple
Plan as a way to bring their upbeat brand of alt-rock to the masses. While
MAGNOLIA PARK-s music is at times lighthearted, the ethnically diverse band
are also serious about spreading a message of inclusivity and inspiring other
kids like them to start bands as a form of creative expression. Our goal when
we're together is to make sure the next generation doesn-t have to face as
much racial back lash for being a rock band, Torres explains. In the

Contemporary
techno legend Marcel Dettmann delivers four(!) remixes for Dutch avant-pop
artist Mathilde Nobel's Founds on Land. Nobel's LP for Nous'klaer has been
one of the label's most adventurous releases, adding a much needed breath of
experimental twisted air to the Dutch pop scene. Dettmann transforms opening
track "Bliss" from a guitar heavy walloper into a noise wash,
floor-filled techno tool driven by a hypnotic staccato saw tooth arpeggio.
Nobel's album single "I Eat Air" which was dominated by chopped
voices and a lullaby-esque bell melody becomes a mesmerizing crescendo in
Dettmann's hands, retaining the haunting bells and Mathilde's signature vocal
processing. Third track "Nehalennia" goes from the album's heaviest
offering to a cinematic, minimal techno, bit-crushed, avant-pop song. While
remix closer is a spaced out version of "I Eat Air" omitting all
drums in-lieu of more bells and chimes and chops off Nobel's haunting voice.
The 4 remixes from Dutch up and comer in the hands of techno maestro Dettmann
is a meaningful pairing illustrating Nobel's adept musical prowess and
Dettmann's never ending pulse taking of what the new school are bringing to

and gracious album by Mike Paradinas on Balmat. Some of his best work right
here for you! This is what the label has to tell about their collaboration
with Mike Paradinas; When we established Balmat in 2021, neither of us could
have imagined that within two years, we'd be putting out an album by one of
our musical heroes: Mike Paradinas, aka ?-Ziq. The British producer has been
an inspiration to label co-founders Albert Salinas and Philip Sherburne since
the 1990s. In fact, his album-length remix project The Auteurs Vs ?-Ziq was
one of the very first pieces of electronic music that Philip bought, way back
in 1994. To have the opportunity to release his music now feels like a real
full-circle moment. Paradinas, of course, needs no introduction. Under a slew
of aliases, chief among them ?-Ziq, the British artist revolutionized
leftfield electronic music in the 1990s--coincidentally, this year marks the
30th anniversary of his debut album, Tango N' Vectif, for his friend and
sometime collaborator Aphex Twin's Rephlex label--and his label Planet Mu has
built up a formidable catalog of visionary, forward-looking records, mapping
virtually every corner of the electronic spectrum. With 1977, he turns the
clock backward in a sense, and not just with the album's title: Rooted in
classic ambient and electronic sounds, these 15 tracks evoke the
anything-goes spirit of the early '90s, before the tools and tropes had
calcified into cut-and-dried styles. There's no shortage of familiar sounds
on 1977. There are echoes of raves and chillout rooms and transmissions from
the fringes of techno; there are detuned synths and glistening reverb tails
and, above all, gauzy vox pads, the eerie glue that holds it all together.
The title, he says, is meant to invoke a general sense of nostalgia,
bookmarking a year in his boyhood when he became more selfaware. More than
anything, 1977 sounds like ?-Ziq distilled: Stripped of his signature
breakbeats and customary chaos, Paradinas' first-ever strictly (well, mostly)
ambient album presents the essence of his music in a whole new light. Along
the way Paradinas touches on dark-ambient drones ("Marmite"),
horror-film themes ("Belt & Carpet"), jungle breaks
("Mesolithic Jungle"), and even house music ("Houzz 13"),
which marks the first bona fide dance-floor moment on Balmat to date). Yet
the album never--to our ears, anyway-- feels expressly retro. Rather,
Paradinas plucks timeless sounds out of the ether and gives them a gentle
tap, spinning them into unexpected new orbits. At times, 1977 feels like an
experience of extended d?j? vu: When we first listened to it, we had the
sense that we already knew this music. It was as though we had heard it years
ago, perhaps on a battered cassette tape lent to us by a friend, and been
searching for it ever since. We hope you feel the same!" |

Suburban
Architecture continue their series of now highly collectible 4 track EP
releases with their 6th offering, 'Inside / Outside'. This new collection of
tracks once again draws heavily on influences from the jazzier, atmospheric
strains of mid to late 90s Drum & Bass. Putting a contemporary spin on
sounds rooted in this golden era of dance music, the latest 4 tracker is
split into two parts: Inside / Outside. Each track appears in two parts,
delivering similar themes at different tempos. Opening track 'Inside Part 1'
will please followers of Suburban Architecture's previous work - lush pads,
deep atmospherics, Jazz fusion flute licks and smashing Amens are all present
in the mix. Inside Part 2 lowers the tempo without compromising the energy: Slo-mo
Amens interspersed with complimentary breaks sit on top of huge pads, Reece
style bass and rousing vocals. Outside also appears in two similarly styled
parts. This time Part 1 comes in at the lower tempo, a light vocal-led slow
motion rolling number with classic Apache elements, while Part 2 applies the

Helene) are original record productions House Of Music 1984, unreleased until
April 2015. The song "All Right" is a little jewel, the music is
pleasant to listen to, but it doesn't have the same strength as the previous
legendary "Stop" and "Livin' Up". "Blackway, Are
You?", the piece on the back of the vinyl. Is in any case one of the
deepest Italo-Disco songs around, a beautiful combination of that basic
synthesizer melody and those Aphex-y style pads take you to another place .

the Dutch documentary 'Onzichtbaar' directed by Gabrielle Provaas is
temporarily available on limited LP and was only for sale during the live
show at ADE 2023. Only a handful of LP's are available for sale and won't be
repressed. The documentary sheds light on the invisible heroes who tirelessly
keep the Netherlands clean day and night. From schools and offices to
hospitals and streets, they work tirelessly and humbly. Their hard work keeps
society running smoothly. 'Onzichtbaar' challenges viewers to reflect on
their own involvement and unveils the price we pay for the facade of

broad release. On the flip side Cologne based producer Adryiano shows his
