The
spaces Red On moves in aren’t per se terra incognita, but have been explored
in recent years by like-minded musicians such as How To Dress Well, Fever
Ray, or Dawuna, as well as artists that are affiliated with Präsenes
Editionen, where Red On’s album is published, such as Martina Lussi, Belia
Winnewisser, or Magda Drozd. Yet, Phantom Easy is an exploration of its own:
The melancholic album, which is informed by pop, electroacoustic music,
rhythm-focused jazz, and krautrock, is carried by Red On's voice, which
appears in ever-changing stages of alienation. The wistful tone of the twelve
tracks is reinforced by single phrases sung by Red On that, through their
repetition, develop an urgency that can hardly be escaped. The result is pop
music that is brave enough to embrace the adventure; or experimental music

Amsterdam's
Alex Ranzino joins Phoq U Phonogrammen, the 26-year-old sublabel of U-TRAX,
with the 'Ride Da Perc' EP. The Utrecht-based imprint welcomes the
fast-rising producer following stints on underground labels such as Revenge
Techniques and Clone, coming in hot on the heels of its own recent Phoq U
release featuring Detroit's Rebecca Goldberg. Alex Ranzino kicks things off
with the title track of his 'Ride Da Perc' EP, rocking punchy 909s and
spacious, undulating strings. The Advent shows a different side to the track
in his remix, still alien-like in nature but demonstrating a sense of dark,
mysterious hypnotism through incessant groove and deep pulsating synth work.
On the flip side of the 'Ride Da Perc' EP, Ranzino drops 'Acid Groove', a
track that proves the age-old fact that b-sides should never be ignored. It's
got pumping 303s and ceaseless rhythm, marked by a subtle but masterful house
touch. Next up, 'Alienated' rolls on as the perfect warehouse party starter
before 'Machine Geweld' closes out the EP as a real late-night mind-melter,

Ivy
Falls, the alias of singer-songwriter Fien Deman, will release her first full
album in the spring of 2024. 'Sense & Nonsense' sounds mature, with a
clear vision and direction. Fien wrote the album after a breakup and leaving
her home; she witnessed cracks appearing in her life and found herself in a
whirlpool of insecurities. Writing turned out to be the way to reorient
herself and discover what she could fill her empty 'house' with. Everything
changed: a new life, a new place, new people, and a new view of herself as a
musician and writer. Bram Vanparys, aka The Bony King of Nowhere, makes his
debutas a producer on Ivy Falls' first release. This unreleased duo impresses
with 'the best coda for the confusing time that your twenties can be.' Sometimes
hitting a wall is inevitable. This occurred, partly even literally, in 2020:
a broken nose, a painful breakup, and a series of chaotic events shook Fien's
foundations. Losing her job, ending her relationship, leaving her home, and
returning to her parental home, she hit rock bottom and started her quest to
rebuild everything from scratch. After the tumult, Fien decided to shed the
oppressive norms and ideas learned as a child and wholeheartedly pursue her
own choices and projects. In the years that followed, each aspect of her life
gradually fell into its right place. This extended to her musical identity,
themes, and sound. Acquiring some guitars and an upright piano, she
endeavored to master them as a self-taught artist. Devoting ample time to her
self-made home studio, she returned to the essence, distancing herself from
the polished pop sound of her initial work and reconnecting with her first
musical love - the singer-songwriters who had colored her teenage years. This
rediscovered inspiration marked the first time in her musical career that
everything felt perfectly aligned. The album's artistic approach aligns with
a fresh, expansive outlook on life and the future. Fien aims to challenge
rigid societal concepts, including the notion of 'golden years.' She
questions what and when exactly should be considered the most significant,
joyful, and vibrant moments of life. The album delves into topics like the
perceived superiority of extroverts, narcotic materialism, and toxic
positivity. It's not a lament but rather an ode to what truly matters-the
essence, love, and beauty. Fien's perspective encourages finding your inner
child and immersing yourself in timeless and profound feelings. Musically,
Fien discovered her perfect match in Bram Vanparys (The Bony King of
Nowhere), her newfound love. She wrote the songs, and he took on the role of
album producer and co-arranger. Together, they crafted a metaphorical space
where every small musical idea has room to flourish, and each insight and effort
carries significance. Influenced by indie folk luminaries such as Julia
Jacklin, Amen Dunes, Feist, Sharon Van Etten, Sufjan Stevens, and Nick Drake,
Ivy Falls has set a high standard for her sound. The main constant? Fien's
distinctive voice commands every song, now revealing greater depth and nuance
than ever. In live performances, Ivy Falls is joined by a talented ensemble:
Trui Amerlinck (Tsar B, Mayorga), Jasper Morel (Black Box Revelation), Simon
Raman (Steiger), and Anton De Boes (Philemon). In the past, Ivy Falls has

Since
its debut in 2019, Kobe Boon's mòs ensemble has turned into an eight-piece
band guided by a collective vision, with a preference for areas where genres
overlap or cease to matter, where rich arrangements of voices and other
instruments become fully realized. The band members are active with an
impressive list of bands and projects - in pop, jazz and remote areas -, and
relinquish this broad-mindedness with a self-evident love for adventure and
exciting interaction. The result is a collective in continual transformation,
maintaining a balancing act between wonder and determination. Pets &
Therapy is the sound of a band still honing its sound, refusing to settle for
a formula. Not because they're trying to adapt to the whims of the day, but
because their inner urges compel them to. It's spellbinding to witness how
this octet has managed to refine its art while keeping that sense of
unpredictable discovery intact. If anything, the ongoing tension between
apparent contradictions is what makes their third album such a winner.
Recorded in the spring and fall of 2022 in Ghent and Milan, Pets &
Therapy boasts eleven songs instead of seven like its predecessors Limbs
(2019) and Behind The Marble (2022). It is at once more compact and nimble,
as well as more elaborate and ingenious, the separate parts of the bands
merging more fluently while keeping their distinctive individual identities
intact. Just observe the way Roos Denayer, Astrid Creve and Marta Del Grandi
have perfected their vocal arrangements, combining the gently alluring with
the boldly experimental. They function as a mini choir, a three-headed siren
ensemble with distinct, yet delightfully connected voices. The same can be
said about the instrumentalists and the band as a whole. They dare to
contrast fragile introspection with outward exploration and exuberance,
breaking down barriers with glee and guts. By now, labels like pop, jazz and
chamber music hardly matter anymore. mòs ensemble became a band that swiftly
switches from light-footed energy to dense drama, from dreamy fragility to
punkish power, from melancholia to euphoria, and from the direct to the
whimsical. Vocals, reeds, guitar/mandolin, keyboards, bass and drums function
as colors in a canvas showing how we never cease to think, feel, watch and
interpret. It's a familiar story, aboutpeople trying to make sense of
themselves and their place in the world while being connected to others, but
you rarely get it presented with this combination of imagination, prowess and

Trax hits 100 releases with Perc returning with his first album in seven
years. 'The Cut Off' is Perc's fourth album following 'Wicker & Steel'
(2011), 'The Power & The Glory' (2014) and Perc Trax's best ever selling
release 'Bitter Music' (2017). 'The Cut Off' see's Perc deliver his most
dance floor focused album to date, serving up enough energy to keep
contemporary dance floors moving, whilst avoiding both the cliched 90's
throwback hard techno formula that is dominant right now and the stuckist
'real techno' blueprints that are still endlessly regurgitated having been
established over 30 years ago. Across the album Perc's well established
industrial credentials collide with giant sized synth riffs, driving acid
lines (a first for a Perc album) and all manner of drones, choral
performances, urban textures and even a dentist's drill (on 'Static').
Gliding arpeggios and slow moving melodic lines feature more on this album
than ever before without dulling the sharp edges of Perc's music. 'The Cut
Off' more than any previous Perc long player is an album that focuses on the
club, the dancer and the dance floor. Yes, there are moments of respite
between the classic Perc percussive workouts, but they are far outnumbered by
the varied collection of club tracks that come at the listener from every
angle. Collaborations include Sissel Wincent, a regular collaborator with
Peder Mannerfelt. Perc remixed Peder & Sissel's 'Sissel &Bass' track
to great effect in 2019 and now Sissel returns the favour appearing on
'Static', the album's only full vocal track. Also collaborating with Perc is
EAS, one of America's fastest rising techno artists who delivers the raw acid
lines that power album highlight 'Cold Snap'. Finally London based metal vocalist
Leandro Bastos adds his abrasive vocal tones to 'Imperial Leather', the first
single to be taken from 'The Cut Off'. The 'Cut Off' was recorded in Perc's
own studio and mixed by Perc at Map Studios in London. The album was mastered
by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios. Album design was handled by Lucas
Grassmay, who previously worked on I Hate Models' debut album on Perc Trax in
2019. The album will be supported a run of dates around the world where Perc
will be performing a special live set based around the album as well as his
infamous DJ sets |

The
scenic artist and multi-instrumentalist CLARAGUILAR moves from performing
arts to cinema as a composer and live performer. Over the last few years he
has created soundscapes that blend electronics and sampled elements with
orchestral arrangements, becoming one of the main names of the Spanish
theater scene when it comes to soundtrack and sound design creation. After
her acclaimed EP 'Mystery is All' Lapsus is proud to present 'Figura',
CLARAGUILAR's debut album, a heartfelt tribute to her connection with the
scenic world, and especially with the operatic universe. The starting point
of this project was born with the concept of an "invisible
orchestra", an imaginary that aesthetically becomes a reality on stage
thanks to the collaboration with the Barcelona studio Oscila, as well as with
the help of the stylist Joan Ros, who has been in charge of the costume
design. 'Figure' is a space in which electronica, ambient, and chamber-pop
coexist; all under an operatic halo full of drama. Once again, the producer
locked herself down from late 2022 to the beginning of 2023 to compose all
the tracks in a very intimate and closed composition process. The album dives
into the melodic landscapes, merged with orchestral samples and chopped
voices containing mysterious messages inside. Each track is a pixelated
lightshow and a live electronic instrumentation, presented onstage as an
elegant performance with an expansive emotional range |

Human
Rights & Justice personifies the essence of JAH music today. Daweh's
voice and his righteous livications for Rastafari and Marcus Garvey often
result in his being compared to 1999 Grammy winner Burning Spear. On Human
Rights & Justice, Daweh exalts his spirituality with such incantations as
"Jah Is My Shepherd", "Wilderness", "Drums" and
"Jah Mercy Seat". His cries for a better world can be heard on
"One World", "Earth Running" and the title track. Daweh
Congo recruited the formidable talents of "Roots Radics", Jamaica’s
premier back-up band to lay the rhythms that can be heard throughout this
album. The heavy drum and baselines from Style Scott and Flabba Holt, along with
Daweh Congo’s mesmerizing voice have catapulted Human Rights and Justice to
the number one position on IREGGAE.COM’s top ten albums for the month of May
2000. Born "Rohan Graham" in 1969, Daweh's father cut sides for Joe
Gibbs and Lee Perry. Daweh recorded his first song "Breadwinner"
for Alton Ellis. In 1995, he teamed up with Ocho Rios based producer and
managing director Barry O'Hare, to record his first hit singles "Study
Garvey" and "Coconut Chalice". Daweh Congo continues his
spiritually charged and uplifting lyrics on Human Rights & Justice.
Produced by Gaylard Bravo, this album features 45 minutes of pure conscious
reasonings that are sure to uplift the hearts and souls of roots music lovers

The
title track of Katerina’s ‘One’ EP on Rekids starts off with bodied bass
drums, rich analogue synthlines and soothing vocal-laced melodies. The
Finnish-Bulgarian artist appears on Rekids following her 2023 Panorama Bar
debut for the label, now adding Radio Slave’s imprint to her extensive
discography on labels like Running Back, Hivern Discs, and Rhythm Section.
Fellow Finnish artist & international scene legend Aleksi Perälä then
joins Katerina’s ‘One’ EP for the remix. Known for his imaginative sound
design work on Clone, Trip, Rephlex and his own AP Musik label, Perälä turns
‘One’ into an equally whimsical, continually evolving dance trip. Dream-like
keys trickle over rolling drums in his version before Katerina’s ‘Papu’
introduces the B-side, featuring a set of wonky chords played over an earworm
bassline. ‘Look Into My Eyes’ is up last with gorgeous dubbed-out sonics,
deep low-end and more after-hour melodies, closing out this irresistible

Border
One's fourth contribution to Token Records is an ode to the cosmic, an
ever-present theme in the Belgian's acclaimed career. 'Strange Attractor'
takes techno and applies Border One's bubbly modular sound glossing over
thick drums, weaving through sound design destined for sophisticated sets on
worthy sound systems. Calm and collected, he offers yet again his attention
to detail and devotion to effect. As an introduction, 'Strange Attractor'
presents a gripping story. Displaying sustained tension, he takes his time to
reveal his channels. Forcing the listener to settle in and anticipate, the
elements diverge and converge over the space of six minutes, shifting groove
throughout. A return to calm, slightly uneasy control helps us arrive at an
influx in energy for the rest of the project. Moving along to 'Astral Plane',
we are introduced to more extroverted sequences. Boomy through fluctuating
synth lines and stomping claps, the seasoned producer uses the size of his
design in the low end to justify a more erratic arrangement. Spread noise in
the background interweaves with confronting synth work, making 'Astral Plane'
impressive in weight without losing the intricate quality that its producer
is known for. Opening the dimension of the project through far spread
elements, 'Time Dilation' creates linear focus with a cloudy entourage. An
always club efficient throbbing main synth persists through an exciting
structure, highly resonant transitions whip through drum machine patterns,
making the third track on the record nothing if not a nail biter. The shuffle
of the hi hats does nothing to slow down the energetic peak of the EP; we
find Border One confidently in control of layered machinery. Drawing the
project to a close, 'Fractal' blinks through persistent tension. Linear rides
and drones open and close with each transition, making for a bent atmosphere
of intrigue. With a sturdy rhythm dotting along from start to finish, the
tonality of Fractal makes it the perfect final bow to grasp Border One's
intentions and the universe he puts his work in |

Shipwrec
have delved into the underbelly of electronics for their latest discovery.
Fake Youth Cult is the brand new project of Richard van Kruysdijk, an artist
who has been integral to the Dutch music scene. Following releases on Delsin,
as well as founding his own Music for Speakers label, this latest undertaking
explores the darker hues of Kruysdijk's audio creations. Across six tracks, a
realm of shadows and steel is constructed. From the murky tones of
"Visitor" to the industrial and blackened "Scorched", a
towering sound of punishing percussion looms over the listener. Techno is
central message. Despite this, the piercing coldness of electro rises in the
incising and stark "Messing." The influence of punk comes to the
fore in racing rhythms and lean strings that make up "Smear." BPMs
drop in the slow burning EBM stained "Management." The machines
take control for the finale. A relentless kick is the motor that drives this
