The
only proved efficient time traveling method to date is through listening to
music, particularly evident when indulging in Jona Jefferies' latest EP
released by Spanish house specialists Apersonal Music. It's a refreshing nod
to the golden era of 90s electronic music. Across its three tracks, Jefferies
masterfully blends elements of ambient, downtempo, and electronica, evoking a
sense of nostalgia as if plucked from a bygone era. In contrast to today's
TikTok-dominated landscape of short, immediate singles, this EP harkens back
to a time when music was crafted with depth and complexity. Drawing
inspiration from legendary acts like Boards of Canada and Underworld, it
seamlessly transports listeners to the Gen-X decade, when acts like Daft
Punk, Orbital and The Chemical Brothers reign supreme and exploited the
electronic scene during the MTV era. On the A side, "Es Camp"
embodies the seamless influence of British electronic music on the Balearic
scene of the 90s, and viceversa. Feels like Moby’s “Porcelain” if the film
"The Beach" had been set in Ibiza. Max Essa's "Romantic Breaks
Mix" elevates the track to pure Balearic bliss, setting the perfect mood
for any sunset terrace around the globe. Side B, tailored for the dance
floor, runs through “Lost in Paradise”, a track that channels euphoria
reminiscent of the underground rave culture during the final years of the
20th century. Apersonal's trusted remixer, Eddie C, delivers an extended
rendition of the track that continually evolves, echoing Jim Morrison’s
words: 'the music was new, black polished chrome, and came over the summer
like liquid night.' |

”Transcended Before Me” featuring
Horace Andy takes us deep into the universe. Icey, blue, dreamy, hypnotic,
The song features soul singer Horace Andy who sings from his heart about how
“the things you love the best, never ever stay, you try to hold onto it, it
slips away…” Emika’s repetitive “come, come, come” sonic hook guides us
through and epic journey of transcendental woosh sounds, Beethoven-esque
piano bass stabs, symphonic synth harmony, and in unforgettable marching beat
and puts hip-hop, trip-hop and techno into a new dimension |

Sometimes it seems there are only
two kinds of people, those that have been to paradise and those that dream of
finding it. The warmth and beauty of the lolling sun, sand and sea: the magic
of your first moonlit night under the palms, caressed by trade winds and
eager for romance. If you are one of the dreamers who have not yet made this
most pleasurable of pilgrimages, this 45 will be your jet clipper or luxury
liner straight to enchantment. 'Lora Blus' intoxicating, exotic rhythm
surrounds you in tropical splendor, pouring out of speakers like crystal blue
water direct from the source. 'Lost at Sea' conjures the mysterious fog that
exists in the deepest corners of our collective psyche, pushing you farther
and farther out into the abyss where hidden treasures and mythic monsters
dance under rolling swells of the deep black depths. So sit back, close your
eyes, and take a trip with Freddy DeBoe and Co |

Hidden jewel of Basque punk from
Bilbao? Suomi Hardcore dark legend? Little or nothing is known about this
fleeting Hardcore band that brought the crudest of the Scandinavian sounds of
the 80s mixed with the radical Iberian hardcore of bands like HHH to Bilbao,
city that saw them born and die. His live shows full of chaos, distortion and
speed left more than one without understanding very well what was happening.
Like putting Kaaos and Cadgers in a cage with HHH that only one could get out
alive. 11 songs of pure rage on random color vinyl, includes poster with
photo collage and postcard. Artwork by the hand of the bassist of the band

Part
of the Optic Sevens 5.0 Reissue Series. Originally released in 1986 on
Australian label Voyeur Records. This is the first time that the single has
been released in the UK. Even As We Speak is an indie band from Sydney,
Australia. Formed in the mid 1980s, founding members Matthew Love (guitar,
banjo, vocals) and Mary Wyer (vocals, guitar) were later joined by Rob Irwin
(bass) Anita Rayner (drums, banjo, mandolin), Julian Knowles (guitar,
keyboards, production), and Paul Clarke (guitar, vocals.) After a series of
vinyl releases on Australian independent labels including Phantom Records,
and success on the Australian indie scene, they came to the attention of BBC
Radio 1 DJ John Peel who started to play the band’s ‘Goes So Slow’ Phantom
Records release on his show. This brought them to the attention of UK
audiences and began a relationship with UK indie label Sarah Records. The
band released several singles and an album on Sarah Records, three of which
reached the Top 5 of the Melody Maker and New Musical Express UK independent
music charts in 1992 and 1993 |

on ltd edition white vinyl, only 300 pressed. Includes extended album
download. Ivan The Tolerable is the alter ego solo project of Middlesbrough
based musical wizard Oli Heffernan. Aside from his solo work as ITT, Oli has
played in numerous bands over the years including Year Of Birds, King
Champion Sounds with members of the Ex, Detective Instinct, and Shrug, and
has collaborated with icons like Mike Watts of the Minutemen, and J Mascis of
Dinosaur Jr. On Black Water/Brown Earth, Heff called in the help of his Dutch
friends Mees and Elsa in King Champion Sounds again and wrote the album in a
long-distance session. The album feels like an excursion in nature, featuring
bird song, flowing water, pots and pans percussion, and a genuine feel of
wandering about and experiencing the outside world with eyes and ears wide
open. It is a band effort too, with organic sounding drums, the
characteristic saxophone, and droning synths. Weird Shrine. ‘Elsewhere,
gentle intonations of morning with almost childlike embellishments and
rhythmic beats, and more flute, might lull and comfort but nothing ever sits
exactly in time which might make this Ivan The Tolerable’s most frustrating
album at times but also one of his most interesting to really delve into
aurally. ‘Sawdust’ is another sonic interlude, little more than a purge of
effects and ideas but in a place where effects and ideas are plentiful.
However, it’s centrepieces ‘Seaweed’ and ‘Signs’ that provide the pulsing,
grooving dual that makes the second half of Black Water/Brown Earth a sheer
delight. The former being simply kind of folky with a bit of sitar but
utterly immersive, the latter oddly upbeat with eastern vibes and tubular
rhythms, combined it is nearly twenty minutes of serene experimentalism. The
shorter tracks are perhaps designed to temper the mood or counter and reflect
the passage of time on an album of mostly structured improvisation, and it
may only be closer ‘Memory’ that is truly free to roam musically, its long
jazzy segments skipping off into the farthest corners of the left field’.

The
Slovenian label Cogo is back for another unmissable 4-tracker vinyl
compilation with the heaviest hitters in the scene who represent the most
artistically driven hypnotic techno to date. Jeroen Search, Border One, ORBE,
and Tonske all lend a hand to provide an understated and deep vibe to this
release full of music actively attempting to remove your mind to otherworldly
places hitherto unknown. Jeroen Search kicks off the release with
''Observer'' expertly drawing you in with a very simplified but polyrhythmic
staccato synth and kick combination that slowly builds with modulating and
swirling pads until it reaches a climax with a tightly regulated drum track
and disorienting LFO sequenced synth patch. Border One continues the theme of
the release of minimalistic aesthetics with ''Contour'' featuring
polyrhythmic ideas and evolving dissociative synths. The release culminates
in a very simplified and restrained drum track that opens up the doors to a
massive sonic environment where you're lost completely within the music,
sitting somewhat awestruck by passing elements unfolding in front of your
mind's eye. Not to be outdone, ORBE takes a different tact with ''Wolheim''
by introducing the groove elements first and bringing in his deep
understanding of setting the sonic stage with his signature atmospheres and
scintillating synth hits. The track also echoes the thematic choices
previously laid down by Border One and invites you into this strange alien
world full of sonic curiosities and audio biology. Tonske buttons up the
release with ''Droid''. A track that has an overall sense of pulling the
sonic environment toward you while you travel as a listener in your mind's
eye. Outward synth blips are constantly coming from the outer periphery into
view as if they are passing stars while traveling forward at a deliberate and
determined pace |

A1
- Polaris: Going all in to open the EP with a truly stand out 2-step roller,
ASC crafts a distinctly energetic vibe with Polaris, featuring an intricate
old school break seldom heard in drum & bass - packed with high-end
detail and a glorious raw energy. With long radiant pad work, a classic jumpy
808 bassline and a stunning, reverberating female vocal sample whooshing and
panning across the mix, Polaris will instantly become a favourite in your
setlist. A2 - Things Left Unsaid: Opening with an intriguing fusion of
suspenseful keys and deliciously crisp bongos that each play a key role
throughout, Things Left Unsaid asks the listener questions of yesteryear in a
varied odyssey filled with a myriad of echoed vocal samples, horns and
effects, set to a break-laden beat pattern that hops along with kicks and
snares each snatching the attention. A calmer vibe from ASC that still packs
a punch. AA1 - Temple Bell: A thumping, spirited beat pattern with rapid
kicks and metallic snares provide a visceral aural onslaught as the
aptly-named Temple Bell blends our imperious breaks with darkly, epic tolls
radiating through a vast ornate hall of resonance -suitably reverberating
alongside a backdrop of synchronic atmospherics. Heavily EQ'd vocal samples
colour the mix to complete a weighty musical collage.AA2 - Contrast:
Beginning with a flurry of cow bells in a vibrant, expertly edited take on
the classic Circles break, ASC serves up a delightfully laid back yet
danceable piece with Contrast. Space FX, swirling pads and a mellow,
memorable key melody overlay a beautiful mosaic of calm as the continued
thrust of the break drives a constant energy to the track, perfectly
capturing the ethos of Spatial and closing another immense EP. Words by Chris

Emerging from Cardiff , Chain Of
Flowers have revealed their long-awaited debut album - a dense eight-track
opus of heavy shoegaze sonics and urgent post-punk. The bands razor sharp
attention to classic songwriting means the record dips and dives between
euphoric, hazy melody (Glimmers Of Joy) and overwhelming gloom (Bury My
Love), all whilst retaining a breathless pace. Lead track Crisis epitomises
this frantic personality exquisitely, skirting between sludgy atmospherics
and hardcores punchy immediacy with aplomb. The six-piece sowed their seeds
through the release of six songs over the past three years (via the bands own
Swine Language tape label), cutting their teeth on dates alongside Iceage,
Cremation Lily, The Fall, The Smear, Shallow Sanction, Eagulls, Nothing and
more before decamping to Monnow Valley for the four-day session that spawned
their debut LP |

Idiot are a stupid stomping garage rock three piece from the cosmopolitan
garden city of Manchester. They sound like kids in a remedial catch up class
trying to cover The Kinks, with a bit of Soft Boys and TV Personalities thrown
in for fun. Leading labels like Trouble in Mind, Slovenly and OddBox have put
out their past LPs, with the band touring across Europe and the US. The group
combines the superstar guitar grooves of Andrew Anderson, the bong/rattling
bass lines of Michael Floyd Seal and the tuneful trap tapping of Callum Trent
D-Arley. Mastered and made listenable by Mikey Young from Eddy Cur/rent
Suppression Ring&Total Control, its 13 tracks take in all styles of music
from the 60s beat of Idiot Blues to boneheaded boo/gie/woogie classic If At

the Montreal quartet's penchant
for raw, ragged noise and lobs it into a drum of molten steel, before
fashioning the cooling results into something truly formidable. First off,
this is very audibly (and thrillingly) a punk rock record. Yeah, you can hear
the metal fascination that drove Black Flag down ever-heavier routes in the
80s, but also echoes of the explorative, spacey psych of Hawkwind and the
pointed mindfuckery of the Butthole Surfers at their most crushingly bleak.
Hell, even the expansive kraut/punk spirit of John Dwyer's Oh Sees can be
found here, albeit buried under the sheer force of something that is
unmistakably hardcore."Your planet has been swallowed by a black hole.

Three years have passed since the
Revellions released their last single and its been five years since their
eponymous debut album on Dirty Water Records. This will be the one album this
year for which anticipation is high. This is the one the fans have been
waiting for. Their BBC sessions recorded on Mark Lamarrs Gods Jukebox show
only whetted our appetite. Compilation albums featured the odd new track. . .
But for a whole variety of reasons the new album was delayed and delayed
again. "Give it time," the boys said, "give it time."
Despite the time lapse and line up changes, this is no difficult second
album. Its a coherent collection of tracks that truly represents the band at
this time. This is a band that has been playing gigs, bashing heads, and
coming together, tighter than ever, and with new songs to not just rival but
surpass those on the debut |

Swirling acid madness from the
ever brilliant mind of Brooklyn's Maxime Robillard, Love Letters'
"Falling Star EP" -- the latest record on Interdimensional
Transmissions -- crawls inside your brain and takes many shapes as it brings
you to ecstatic experiences on the dance floor. The vinyl is presented with 4
new songs, the A side containing the brain melter "Falling Star"
that just builds and builds and then releases all the tension, and the
frenetic "Tore". The B side contains remixes of 2 originals -- the
first by No Way Back resident Mike Servito exploring his Detroit electro bass
roots (and the first record in the IT catalog) for "Let the Bass
Go", and the second remix is of the jam "Morse" by IT founder
BMG in his new studio, the first creation in the new room, moving towards a
more holographic sound |

A
kaleidoscopic sonic riot, Nandakke? is the hotly anticipated debut album from
Japanese-Belgian duo Aili. Featuring 10 tracks of surreal electro-pop, joyful
electronica, house music and more, Nandakke? is a euphoric album that sees
Aili Maruyama and Orson Wouters more than fulfil the promise of their
acclaimed debut EP. Recorded over the course of six months in Orson's studio,
packed full of vintage synths, Nandakke? captures the spontaneous spirit and
creativity of those sessions. Exchanging riffs and rhythms, bouncing sounds
and samples off each other, Aili and Orson would let the music take them
where it wanted. The result,an album full of wild ideas and bold, playful
experimentation. More than anything an exhilarating feeling of discovery
courses through Nandakke?, leaving you never sure where it will go next. One
minute a pulsing electro-pop number featuring Aili's dad discussing his
takoyaki (battered octopus) recipe, the next an explosive high energy workout
song like Up & Down. Certainly Aili was surprised to find herself singing
in her own unique version of Japanese again. "I thought that I was done
with that after our debut EP, but apparently not as I speak even more
Japanese on the album!" said Maruyama. "Every time we were in the
studio these words would just tumble out. It's a complicated language but I
just love to play with it. "In many ways I'm an outsider, I left Tokyo
aged 7, so there's a lot I notice as someone who is not a native speaker and
it doesn't always make sense, there's a lot of mistakes in it.But in a way
that sums up the whole philosophy of the album and how Orson and I work
together." That notion of duality, a sense of belonging but feeling
apart, of being between two worlds and inventing your own captures the spirit
of Nandakke?, itself a Japanese word that roughly translates to "Well,
what was it?". "It's something you say when you're looking for a
word, like you know it but have forgotten how to say it. That's literally how
I communicate with my dad the whole time," Maruyama explains. "The
main feeling I have when I go to Japan is that I know the language, I can
speak it, but part of me still feels like it doesn't have all the vocabulary.
There's a gap there that nandakke has always filled for me. All the lyrics
come from that place, that seven-year old trying to speak Japanese."
Whether Aili's singing about the language she invented with her father over
the years to bridge the gap between them (Nandakke?), the idiosyncratic
Japanese relationship to fashion (Fashion) or riffing on children's
playground songs (Yubikiri) the result is a remarkable album that defies easy
categorisation. Bursting onto the Belgian scene in 2021 with their acclaimed
debut EP, Dansu, its lead track spent 8 consecutive weeks at the #1 spot of
Radio 1's VOX list and saw the band nominated for Studio Brussel's De Nieuwe
Lichting ('New Generation') award. Since then Aili have appeared playing live
on the Belgian TV show Roomies, been tipped by the likes of Rolling Stone,
become regulars on tastemaker stations like KEXP and KCRW in the US and Nova
in France, toured across Europe and, just recently, played their first sell
out shows in Japan |

The
Mental Groove Classic series returns with a treasure trove of rare and hard
to find tracks plucked from the personal collection of label founder Olivier
Ducret, a pivotal figure in Switzerland's acid house and rave-era party
scene. On Volumes Two and Three of the series - the first installment hit
stores in 2017 - the Mental Groove and Musique Pour La Danse label founder
takes us back to the turn of the '90s, a time he spent promoting parties in
fields, squats, forests, warehouses and former factories in and around Geneva
and behind the counter of a record shop of the same name. While others in
Switzerland's emerging dance music scene gravitated towards US house and
garage, Olivier and his crew opted for a bass, breaks and techno-focused
sound inspired by regular trips to clubs, raves and record shops in the UK.
Drawing directly from his own record box and a memory bank full of snapshots
of euphoric dancefloor moments, Mental Groove Classics volumes Two and Three
sees Olivier reaching for cuts of near-mythical rarity, genuinely overlooked
gems, and undeniably brilliant tracks that have left a long-lasting
impression on the local raving landscape. It's an autobiographical audio
document, historical archive and personal musical statement all rolled into
one, inspired by a moment in time where musical boundaries were being redrawn
in a wave of carefree optimism and freedom inspired new rave scenes across
Europe and far beyond. Matt Anniss. Original artwork by Soho's Brain Club
co-owner and artist of early British club culture Mark Wigan. File under

As
a trained dancer, movement has always guided GiGi FM’s work, whether through
developing movement based instruments, or questing to make you move via
sound-systems across the world. These ephemeral moments of altered sleep
patterns and dance are now present in the music of ‘Sea~rène’, sounds for a
trip in the mind held with a desire to dance. A sense of brightness prevails
in 'Movimiento', the feeling of white light rising from the dark of your mind
as you lay with closed eyes. Opener ‘Gabriella’ takes you by the hand to spin
you across the ballroom floor, dancing in a dusky glow. Piano twinkles along
with your step; a gradual ascension as a graceful dance can be. Lost in
thoughtful yet thoughtless drift to the rumble of sound, we can confront
parts of ourselves and our connection to others, the spirit of B side opener
’Awakening The World’s Heart’. Place is important to movement also, as heard
in the kinetic motion of ‘Tempelhof’, reminiscent of the feld in Berlin
(GiGi’s home) itself. Blurred lines of people weaving their way through,
either high speed on skates or on a leisurely stroll. It's summer in the
city, where the nighttime shortens and daylight extends, yet the simulated
night of the club never ends. Eventually reaching slumber, ‘Lucid Dreaming’
is the record's swan-song, a final lift of propulsion to remind that the
dream of dance is a physical act, belonging to the imagined and the real.
Digi bonus ‘Raspberry Pie’ is a sweet treat at the end of the dance, a
familiar taste and a reminder of joy, ready for the next 'Movimiento' |

Everything
is connected. Not just in the grand scheme of things - politically,
culturally, socially,... - but also in the colourful universe of Karen
Willems. A lifelong quest for profound experiences through organizing sound
led to the crucial Terre Sol-series, four tapes released in 2020. Out of that
fertile well, Grichte (2022) was born. A double LP that presented Willems as
an original explorer as well as a committed bandleader, it was her boldest
statement to date. While the first (solo) album halfalready received a
follow-up in K A A P M I J (2023), another tape release that suggested
there's still a lot of ground left to uncover, Juju continues the work done
on the second album half, with the Terre Sol Four quartet: Willems' voice,
drums, percussion objects, keyboards and field recordings accompanied by the
saxes of Marc De Maeseneer, Vincent Brijs and John Snauwaert. It was already
something to behold on Grichte, swerving from introspective exploration to
expressionist riff rock and semi-Dadaist avant-garde. On Juju, the four-piece
digs even deeper and the results are utterly spellbinding. One of the many
attractions of Willems' recent work is that it combines relentless artistic
experimentation with a commitment to broader socio-political issues. In
essence, the artist tries to set up a discussion with her surroundings,
sending out musical invitations to connect and participate, reminding
ourselves of responsibilities that are too easily forgotten in these hectic,
self-centered times. The refugee crisis is one, ecology awareness another,
and it's hard not to consider "Voor De Stranden Verdrinken"
("Before The Beaches Drown") a caustic warning. Things need to
change. As said earlier, the music on Juju remains as adventurous as before,
but this time around, the playing feels even more confident, diverse and
punchy. If the album opener accentuates its urgency with a throbbing pulse
and reed sirens, "Tako Deli" continues with rich vocal
arrangements, roaring saxes and sweeping melodies. What follows strikes with
vigor and consistency: "Nuuki" is as dense as it is infectious,
while "Fuzzy Williams" manages to combine Ellingtonian abundance
with Swans-like preaching. And there's more, much more. Eccentricity and
playfulness ("The Woo Woo Room, Dance Back In Style", "In Open
Veld") go hand in hand with smoldering exercises in tension and release
("Koortsdromen") and a ridiculously infectious call for connection
in antisocial times ("Come Vai"). Guest contributions by Nabou
Claerhout, Kapinga Gysel, Esther Lybeert and Filip Wauters enrich the band's
sound considerably. By the time you reach album closer "When Daytime
Lands", Willems takes you on a short trip through that eerie
soundscape-land she previously explored. In short: Juju fits perfectly in
Willems' output. Also: in the coherent oeuvre it has become, it is perhaps
her most consistent release yet. It's infectious as hell, carefully crafted,
packs a punch and more accessible than ever before. It's the sound of an
artist at the peak of her powers, not just expanding her range, but digging
deeper with obvious glee. It's not just intriguing; it's inspiring to witness |

Experience the latest journey
through Rabe's musical universe unfolds on her seventh vinyl release,
characterized by a trippy yet propulsive sound, reflective of her distinct
style. The entire 12" record is embellished with a remix by the renowned
Spanish producer, Reeko. "Phonix's Ash" introduces a mystical
groove, further enhanced by Reeko's hypnotic remix, focusing on immersive
grooves rather than dramatic breaks. The B-side is equally intense, with
"Long Nights" inducing a dizzying effect and "Drowning
Rivers" creating a dreamy and harmonious atmosphere. As always, Rabe's
personal works invite listeners to dive deep into her infinite universe of
perception |

Next up is Intuition, a
contemporary techno/trance duo from the coast of Catalonia, Spain. This
hard-hitting release features the iconic Arcana 17, a pure hard trance anthem
that debuted at KI/KI's Amsterdam Boiler Room back in2022, as well as
Soulstealer, their take on a rolling, hypnotizing monster. Aeryeen (1/2 of
the duo) is in charge of the B-side, taking a more emotional approach with
dreamlike pads and ever-evolving arpeggios backed by psychedelic atmospheres |

Belgium's best kept secrets. Forming in 1980 as a punk group, influenced by
English post/punkers Swell Maps, Kanker Kommando quickly evolved, and by 1982
they were fully invested in making experimental music on primitive

"Rank Sonata" Is a
brand new recording of the legendary Colin Potter, producer and collaborator
of bands like Nurse With Wound, Organum and Current 93. Colin Potter has been
a central figure in the UKs DIY and post---industrial underground since the
late 70s. "Rank Sonata" encloses sounds of organic techno up to
somnambulistic dub and dreamfull ambient. The nearly twenty minute long track
"A Wider Pale Of Shale" sounds absolutely timeless and could be
played the whole night long because of Its interplay of Ambient and Beat
passages. With "And" Potter shows us in a brilliant way how
particular abstract sounds can be weaved into an unexpected multi-layered dub
track. "Knit Where?" With its very deep and slow reverb rhythm
gives the record. Even a touch of darkness and melancholy. "Rank
Sonata" is a brilliant piece of music full of technical sophistication
und innovation" |

Fully remastered and licensed,
ltd to 500 copies. What if Lee Perry and Lex Baxter have been caught in a
firetrap altogether? A weird experiment in dub & reggae coined in 1973,
the sole album of this interstellar venture was a case in point. Jamaican
rhythms (provided by the almighty Trojan records crew) with legendary
prog/psych keyboardist KEN ELLIOT (former member of influential british bands
such as Second Hand and Seventh Wave) creating groovy instrumental on top !
10 tracks including the JOE MEEK classic Telstar and a spacey rendition of
THE SKATALITIES Guns Of Navarone (aptly named Guns Of The Martian Giants) for
an album that might sounds like a caribbean easy listening session on dope !
A truly gem on its own, incredible strange music for the suburbs |

Kevin Drumm is an Chicago based
experimental artist and one of the most important musicians for
electroacoustic noise scene. During his career he worked with great
improvisers such as Mats Gustafsson, producer Jim Oourke or saxophonist Ken
Vandermark. Kevin Drumm "Imperial Distortion" and "Sheer
Hellish Miasmah" are must-hear albums of contemporary avant garde.
"The Back Room" is an vinyl reissue of previously self released
album. Two years ago Drumm prepared by himself 100 copies of a CD-r full of
intensive noise. Whole conception from the beginning sounded like something
recorded not for a CD but for the LP. There are two parts, one consists three
very short, high pitched pieces. Another part is built with two long compositions
where you can hear or even feel many shades of analogue electronic noise,
with all of its brutal beauty |

Barnett is a Chicago-based
electronic musician known for his work with dark ambient group Oakeater and
collaborative work in Barnett & Coloccia on Blackest Ever Black, in
addition to a handful of cassettes and collaborative projects. Chew From the
Mind is a raw yet elegant synthesizer album that is surreal, beautiful and
evocative of previous horror-score theme work, while expanding his sound
toward more raw electronic influences. The album draws from a heady mixture
of early new wave and synth-pop, '70s-era Miles Davis, science fiction
literature and the past 15 years of the American underground. Within its
thematic unity, Chew From the Mind paints a variety of scenarios, ranging
from claustrophobic to vast, ethereal to rawly physical. The tracks were
recorded and mixed in his home studio, employing a diverse set of drum
machines and synthesizers in various states of functionality or development.

"Familiar"
is Excepter's first new all studio recordings album since 2010's U.S. double
album release "Presidence" (Paw Tracks) which brought the band the
international recognition of The Wire magazine's cover story followed in 2011
by the shattering news of the sudden death from cancer of core band member
Clare Amory which scattered the wandering band members across their home
continent to New York, Los Angeles and New Mexico. In 2012 the band managed
to reconvene for a lengthy and successful European tour and also install
themselves at blastfirstpetite's invitation in Studio Faust in alchemical
Prague to record the basis of this all new album. The album sees an audio
enhanced continuation of Excepter's trademark creepy-crawled odd leg disco,
layered with LaLa's cosmic sighs and Fell Ryan's atonal lysergical lyric-poem
chants. It also includes the likely to be "marmite moment" -
Excepter's cover of Tim Buckley's "Song To The Siren" which is
perhaps best made famous by This Mortal Coil's 1980's sweet moonlit version.
Here Excepter deliver instead, a pain warped invocation to their lost limb.
The 500 limited edition double vinyl presents the complete album but with the
addition of a second disc dedicated to the memory of Clare Amory; featuring
the 7 minute dark disco warning siren of Excepter's Nathan Corbin's
instrumental "Destroy" on the A side, and a hand drawn John Fell
Ryan "cabalistic vision of the universe through love and loss"
engraving on the B side. Divine the spinning magick - the embracing of loss
becomes a release |

Almost a year on since his
Blueprint Records debut, the London-based Brazilian, Vinicius Honorio
delivers the follow-up to "Sem Rumo". With a storied history in
DJing and producing, starting in Rio de Janeiro as a D&B selector before
settling into London's techno sphere, the Brazilian producer pens dark and
dubby textures. Delivering releases on his own label, Liberta Records as well
as the likes of Modularz, Mord, Token and of course, Blueprint he has
displayed his penchant for trippy and foreboding techno whilst encapsulating
the energy and passion that have come to be synonymous with his style. A
style that also permeates his DJ sets which he's taken around the globe.
"Ominous Music" features four hard-hitting Techno tracks characteristic
of his style. Released 31 May on vinyl |

Berlin based producer Regent. No stranger to the label, Regent contributed to
src005 last year with his smooth techno roller ‘Off Agenda’ alongside music
from Neri J, Alpha Tracks, Vil & Cravo. His tracks have featured heavily
in DJ sets by label founders Blue Hour and Philippa Pacho over the years,
naturally the idea to present the first artist EP on positivesource with
Regent comes as no surprise |

Murcia Born hit maker Not A
Headliner strikes back with his first solo on his own KAOS series NAH, where
he will be able to express freely his musicality. With a display of
influences 'Something Hard To Find' dives between shades of groove, FUNK,
hyper-body music and melancholic melodies in a very personal style. A natural
evolution to his well known 'you should go out of my space', which you could
catch as closing track on many of legendary Freddy K's closing sets. This is
just the beginning, pitch it up for bigger impact. OFTENPLUSNEVERMINUS+8 |

Midi Mode Records, a new chapter
begins for the label formerly known as Mini Man Records. A home for the
unmistakable energy of electro and techno grooves. The decision to rebrand to
Midi Mode as a name came after the previously known label title was unexpectedly
caught up in a weird trademark dispute. The label has adapted to survive and
will provide tracks for true believers, made by true believers into the
future. As the label unveils its upcoming releases, it starts with the
"Fake Reality EP", a 5 tracker with Electro & Techno Funk,
housing a collaboration with Human Rebellion & Power. Electro heads
should already be very familiar with the unmistakable electro sonic sounds of
Human Rebellion. Furthermore to this, a fusion with the stripped back Detroit
electro sounds of Power means the senses are pushed to move in dark rooms
with the fierce Techno cut of "I'm a Freak". All of this is
combined with a haunting and unhinged remix from Nite Fleit that's
mesmerising |

Zobol - Retrofuturism EP is a
nostalgic yet forward-looking release that invokes past visions of the
future. It features five original tracks, ranging from upbeat and energetic
to more ambient and introspective. Each track is a storytelling journey, exploring
different aspects of Electro and Braindance. Crafted with both analog and
digital machines while enhanced by modern production techniques, it
epitomizes the main concept of Retrofuturism. The result is a series of warm,
melancholic soundscapes where the past meets the future |
