Warsaw was the planned debut
album by the English post-punk band Joy Division, while they were briefly
associated with RCA Records. Recorded in May 1978, it comprised eleven tracks
now known collectively as the 'RCA Sessions'. However, the band were disappointed
with the label's post-production work and the deal fell through, the album
being scrapped. Four of the songs recorded during the RCA sessions had
previously been recorded at the end of 1977, and it was these older
recordings that the band would release the following month as their debut An

second takes, there is no editing and just a couple of overdubs on the whole
album. And while guitarist Even Helte Hermansen is the natural focal point
there are no big egos at work here, this is a solid unit where all members
are equally important for the end result. Just listen to the "loose but
tight" interplay on the opening track, an energetic and joyful
interpretation of Sonny Sharrocks "As We Used To Sing". And theyre

Reissued
for the first time outside of Brazil, this is Tom Zé's first LP on
Continental Label and the press release warned: "1972 marks the
beginning of a new phase in Tom Ze's career. He decided to move into simpler
forms of writing and released an album that is a result of that". Tom Zé
is considered the most "paulista" of all Tropicalistas. He came
from Bahia, but his wry urban poetry, infused with the uncomfortable sounds
of the largest metropolis of South America, is pure Sao Paulo. This reissue
includes unseen photos, new testimonials from Tom Ze' himself and a lengthy
article signed by Bento Araujo, author of the book series Lindo Sonho
Delirante. After a few "strategic mistakes" in his career, Tom Ze'
found a new home at Continental label. It was there that he made four albums
for the remaining 1970s, beginning with this one. When this LP was released,
in 1972, Tom Ze' had a relentless interest in the unexplored, in the
experiments, and in the unusual. These songs revealed a more mature Tom Ze',
addressing social issues, outdated concepts, false traditions, and the

Pianist
Orson Claeys is a refreshing new presence on the Belgian jazz scene. After
being featured on the third instalment of the 'Lefto presents Jazz Cats'
compilations with his track 'Conversations', Orson Claeys is set to release
his 5-track debut EP 'Odyssey to Self' on Sdban Ultra. Spellbound by the
allure of the piano at a young age, Claeys joined art school, where his more
profound exploration really began. However, it wasn't until a later age, when
he discovered the melodies of Herbie Hancock, that he was drawn to jazz and
changed his musical course. Under the guidance of renowned artists, Claeys
had the opportunity to immerse himself in this new sound atthe Royal
Conservatory of Music in Brussels. He developed his own style, learning to
weave different cultural influences and musical genres. These days, Claeys is
constantly searching for his own unique sound in today's modern jazz, fusing
different musical traditions into one harmonious expression. "Odyssey to
Self" isn't just an EP; it's a story about life-the ups, downs, and the
personal journey we all experience. "From the start, I wanted this
project to go beyond my own artistry and connect with more people. That's why
I decided to create a visual counterpart to the music, a way to see the
journey that you hear in the record." This is Orson Claeys' first EP,
released under Ghent's well-known Sdban Records. It's a deep dive into
Claeys' own life, honestly sharing his path through major changes.
"Odyssey to Self" captures his personal journey, giving listeners a
look at the universal human experience of dealing with life's challenges and
embracing change. The music takes cues from the rich sounds of the Middle
East, influenced by artists like Dhafer Youssef and Anouar Brahem, and also
from the fresh, creative styles of contemporary jazz musicians such as Aaron
Parks, Brad Mehldau, and Ambrose Akinmusire. Claeys aimed to blend these
diverse musical influences into one cohesive sound. "Odyssey to Self"
invites listeners to experience Claeys' emotions, experiences, and artistic
vision, weaving stories that touch on themes we all understand |

Originally
released on Robs Records offshoot Pleasure, followed by a repress on Air
Trance in 1995 featuring Francesco Farfa & Kiticonti on remix duty, the
debut offering from French/UK outfit Prism - aka Pascal Eloy & Grant
Wilkinson - ‘Vapour Trails’ EP eventually gets a much needed reissue on
Cosmocities this summer, enhanced with a remix from Bliss Inc. From its
initial sortie on the label run by Rob Gretton, former manager of legendary
New Wave bands New Order and Joy Division, onto making it to a then en-vogue
Italian trance imprint, this record made waves and opened new portals for
many lovers of the burgeoning electronic sound, including - years later -
Cosmocities head exec himself, holding the special status of being his first
ever vinyl record buy. Harder was the path towards that longed-for repress,
but with a twist from destiny - after tracking down one half of Prism -
Pascal Eloy - to no avail, the label managed to find him through his father,
contemporary composer Christian Eloy, plans were set out to release a first
EP, ‘Rain’ (2022), and now ‘Vapour Trails’, which comes as the icing on the
cake. A future-facing slice of fast-track trance bound to have ravers melting
in XTC thru and thru, the lead single treats us to a deluge of prismatic arps
and multi-faceted synthwaves, ushering us into a vivid, mind-expanding
kaleidoscope of throbbing colours and propulsive groove; an absolute killer
of a tune that’s lost nothing of its frenzied punch. In the hands of Italian
duo Farmakit, the track morphs into a further corrosive churner tailored for
peak-time rumble in the warehouse with its calibrated mix of acid-drenched
bass whorls, hard house bounce and Tangerine Dream vibrations. Flip sides and
here’s ‘O.N.V.I.’ shifting gears towards a more tribal / spiritual kind of
uptempo hoodoo, running the gamut wildly from ethereal choirs to warlike drum
programming, via sci-fi-indebted cosmicness and proper 303-infused salvos
from outer space. New addition to the bunch, the remix from Bliss Inc. treats
us to a more focussed parade of jacking house percussions, hi-NRG acid tropes
and Afro funk-minded psychedelia, revving up the engines as the room temp
rises from hot to sweltering. No surrender |

GeJonte. The inventors of modern pop music as we know it. Joining forces in
1988, Orebro duo Kai Parviainen and Jonas Ohlsson put out four cassettes and
a split album with Frak under the Enema & GeJonte guise, all teeming with
clever and funny electronic pop songs. The sound? Imagine Duet Emmo jamming
out with the Residents on a wheat field on Narkeslatten. Or picture early
Severed Heads covering lost Philemon Arthur & The Dung tapes. Kai pushes
his Sequential Circuits Pro-One synthesizer to its limits while Jonas makes
discerning observations on everyday life in a Swedish small town. Mostly sung
in Swedish, sometimes in English, but always with a touch of sweet naivety
and innocence on par with lo-fi punk/pop geniuses Dan Treacy and Daniel
Johnston. Typical song subjects: A friendly game of five-a-side football. The
joy of rising at the crack of dawn to get on with the tasks of the day. A bus
journey to Odensbacken to savour a semla at a local cafe and some small talk
with the gas station manager. All delivered with a playfulness and ecstasy
more commonly found on the records with Swedish Christian music Kai so
devotedly collects than in contemporary industrial or electronic music. When
Jonas moved to Amsterdam in 1996 the boys ceased making music together,
leaving behind a treasure trove of unreleased material, some of which
appeared on a couple of cassettes in the 00's. But the best stuff has
remained buried until now. How dada pop gems like "Joxa med trasan"
and "Underground" could dwell in obscurity for thirty-ish years
beggars belief. Other standout tracks on this compilation: "Plan 714
till NYC", a wonderful waltz time instrumental performed in the vein of

Bjarki leads a pack of
international artists who in the past few years have taken a hauntological
approach to re-moulding the scents of breakbeat, rave, jungle, trance and IDM
into sounds that are entirely their own. Already this year he began his own
label bbbbbb with artistic sparring partner Johnny Chrome Silver, released
under new alias Cucumb45, performed his new live show at clubs and festivals
from Mutek ES and Peacock to Printworks, and recently announced a US tour for
July. TRP015 finds Bjarki in typical, monstrous, floor slaying form with four
trance leaning tracks that have proved an inspiration for Nina Kraviz's DJ
sets over the past year. Bjarki takes key aspects of trance and takes it for
a headspin into the unknown - mangled percussion, disorienting voices,
unravelling textural layers, sub aquatic bass frequencies and intense

“Tubby
did three original dub albums, ‘Dub From The Roots’. ‘The Roots of Dub’ and
the third is ‘Brass Rockers’ with Tommy McCook ‘pon the flying cymbals. Where
he mixed it with the horn going in and out in a dub way and one named ‘Shalom
Dub’ you can call Tubby’s too because he mixed the versions as they were off
forty fives’’ King Tubby and Producer Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee are intertwined in
the birth of Dub Music. After
discovering a mistake that made a ‘serious joke’ ( more of which later...)
they went on to release the first pressings of this new musical genre namely
‘Dub Music’. Tubby’s vast knowledge of electronics and Bunny’s vast catalogue
of rhythms would lay the foundations of what today is taken as a standard...
the Remix / Version cuts to an existing vocal tune. Osbourne ‘King Tubby’
Ruddock was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 28th January 1941 and grew up in the
High Holborn Street area of downtown Kingston. He studied electronics at
Kingston’s National Technical College and also on two correspondence courses
from the U.S.A... When he had qualified Tubby began repairing radios and
other electrical appliances in a shack in the back yard of his mother’s home.
His work in the early days included winding transformers and building
amplifiers for Kingston’s Sound Systems.
Tubby built his first Sound System in 1957 playing jazz and Rhythm
& Blues at local weddings and birthday parties. His reputation as a man
who knew and understood both electronics and music grew steadily and as the
sixties drew to a close. Tubby
purchased his own basic two track equipment. He installed this alongside his
dub cutting machine, a home made mixing console and his impressive collection
of Jazz albums in the back bedroom of his home at 18 Dromilly Avenue which he
christened his music room. Tubby and Striker were at Treasure Isle Studio’s
one day while Ruddy from Spanish Town was working with the engineer Byron
Smith... “Tubby and myself was talking when Ruddy was cutting some dub but
Smithy (engineer) made a mistake through we were talking and forgot to put in
the voice. It was two track recording in those days. Ruddy said ‘No Man! Make
it stay! and so they cut the rhythm.
When I went over to Ruddy’s
that Saturday night a dance was in progress and when they played the vocal to
the tune... then he said we’re going to play ‘Part Two’. They never called it
‘Version’..and then he played the rhythm track. The song was a catchy song
and everybody started to sing along and the deejay started to toast so
everything went down well. On Monday morning I went up and I said ‘Tubbs the
mistake we made was a serious joke.It mash up Spanish Town! The people went
wild. So you have to start to do that now ‘cause when the man put on the
‘Part Two’ everyone start singing this song. It played about twenty times. I
said you try Tubbs!’...Well the next Saturday night now when Tubby strung up
down the farm U Roy said he’s going to play ‘Part Two’ but Tubby did it
different now. He started with the voice then dropped it out and let the
rhythm run and then he brought in the voice in the middle and from there
Tubby started to get really popular.’’ Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee. Dynamic Sounds
upgraded to sixteen track recording in 1972 and Tubby purchased, again with
the help of a deal brokered by Bunny Lee. The old four track equipment and
the MCI console from their Studio B.
The four tracks now gave him far wider scope to work with and he began
to create a new musical form where the bass and drum parts were brought up
while the faders allowed Tubby to ease the vocal and rhythm in and out of the
mix. It was only a matter of time before Tubby’s dub plate experiments began
to make it on to vinyl and the first ever long playing King Tubby releases
would feature a collection of his mixes to a selection of Strikers rhythms.
So please sit back and enjoy this historic set of sounds. Lovingly restored
and with a few extra gems added to the CD Editions. These releases were the
first to carry the name of King Tubby and the first to credit the great
musicians that contributed so much to the rhythms that made these albums
possible |

Solomun
& CASSIM remix two of the track rake from Radio Slave’s Venti album
released earlier this year. Diynamic boss and Ibiza titan Solomun remixes
Radio Slave ‘The Lunatics’ on Rekids, following the original’s inclusion in
Matt Edwards’ acclaimed ‘Venti’ album in May. The original, a rework itself,
reimagined the 1981 Fun Boy Three track ‘The Lunatics Have Taken Over The
Asylum’, with Edwards’ ode to the band’s late lead vocalist and The Specials
frontman Terry Hall winning support from Saoirse, Erol Alkan, Jennifer
Cardini, Laurent Garnier, Paul Woolford, and Honey Dijon. Solomun’s remix of
‘The Lunatics’ is sparkling aural nostalgia executed with total joy. Crisp
80s drums, Stranger Things-esque Jupiter 8 synth swells, the vocoded titular
vocal, and a gloriously rich sliding bassline combine to drag the listener
back to 1983 in the best possible way. As the track builds, rousing guitars
join the ensemble, completing what is a hypnotic, melodic trip to the 80s via
what’s set to be a 2024 anthem. CASSIMM’s remix of Radio Slave vs Audion’s
‘Mouth To Mouth’ continues the story of Matthew Dear’s classic, which Radio
Slave revived and reinvented as part of his 2024 LP, ‘Venti’. Radio Slave’s
hi-NRG disco cover of Audion’s minimal/maximal 2006 and era-defining anthem
has dominated dancefloors since it emerged as a single in late 2023, with the
likes of Erol Alkan, Job Jobse, Sean Johnston, Jennifer Cardini and Eats
Everything continuing to play it today and the latter awarding it an
Essential New Tune whilst sitting in for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. Now,
recent Rekids alum CASSIMM continues his huge run of form with a chunky,
main-room house interpretation that shows just why his recent release, ‘House
of Moves,’ won DJ support from the likes of Tong, Arielle Free, Paul
Woolford, Honey Dijon, and Jennifer Loveless. CASSIMS’s remix of Radio Slave

repper Patrik Eriksson is a proponent for deep and loopy techno, under his
Dold moniker the DJ/producer delivers all manner of introverted compositions,
moments designed for home and club that resonate with an evocative and
redoubtable simplicity. His catalogue of releases on co-run label Arsenik are
an ongoing dialogue with live partner Kuf and a selection of well-known
peers, stripped down techno that conveys a cogent message with its straight
talking approach. The Revival Recordings (BAS 014) is another vinyl feather
in Dold's cap, a five track release that takes the relay from his developing
opus and sprints assuredly on. A1 Work Me pairs mercurial hi-hats with
subaquatic squeaks, while its successor keeps tempo and switches its
leitmotif for hollow, metallic repetitions. The temperature rises with Solid
Solitude, the A3 banger that's likely to make its way into many a closing set
towards the end of summer. The B side takes a darker turn with Insight (B1),
a slower, more philosophical entry suggestive of breezy Scandinavian nights.
B2 points its arrow in another direction still, more urban, more clubfloor,
shuffling acid beats that tie the record and Dold's many-faceted influences
together in a neat package. There's a bit of everything here, and a hint at
both Dold's capacity as a producer and what might be yet to come. A promise

For
the past two decades, Dr Roman Belavkin (Solar X) has been deeply involved in
AI research and mathematics at British universities. His albums from the
1990s are a testament to an era defined by the early internet-bulletin
boards, FTP sites and mailing lists. In keeping with this, Solar X's music
sounds surprisingly futuristic, a romantic artifact of a time eagerly
anticipating tomorrow. Following the re-issue of Solar-X's "Xrated"
in 2019, GALAXIID is releasing his debut "Outre X Mer". All tracks
are from the original DAT tapes and have been remastered for this release.
"Pozdno Utrom", "Dileg" and "Solar X" were
originally released on the "Outre X Mer EP" on Defective Records in
1995. Other tracks are out on vinyl and digital platforms for the first time.
"I was homebound for two years between 1992 and 1994, and the only way I
could escape was through computer networks and writing," Belavkin
recalls. Before the nasty car accident he was a member of the USSR/Russia
national wushu team. Confined to his home, Belavkin started creating tracks
based on ideas from his school days in the late 1980s, when he first recorded
melodies on cassette tapes. This time, however, he fused those sounds with
Soviet analogue synthesizers and PC sound cards. He shared these tracks via
email with friends in different countries, becoming part of the
"Analogue Heaven" mailing list, a community of enthusiasts united
by their passion for analogue synthesis dating back to the 1960s. During his
initial pursuit of a PhD in Computer Science, Roman wanted to explore the
intersection of what electronic music could offer humanity, the potential for
AI to experience emotions, and whether emotions enhance or hinder intellect.
These themes resonate in the music of Solar X. The album embodies ambient
techno with intricate rhythms and ear caressing melodies, choppy percussion
and blissful synths, making it both tranquil and danceable. Like a shimmering
spaceship navigating between anxious dreams and visions, it transports the
listener to a naively hopeful era yet to come |

Chronics is co-manager of the respected Bipolar Disorder and Primal Instinct
labels along with Chlar and Alarico, and is known for his mastery of
straight-up and compelling grooves and evocative anthems. He has been
releasing for over a decade now and shows his versatility again here. This
new release makes a debut vinyl offering from the Anglo-Australian Transition
label, following millions of digital plays since its inception last summer
and support from DJs like FJAAK, Anetha, Daria Kolosova, VTSS and Boys Noize.
Opener 'By My Soul' is a techno pumper with inescapable euphoria built into
the diva vocals and the smart synth loops that rise up and up through the
mix. It's lean and linear but packed with feelings that burst out of the
speakers and hook in your heart. Dublin's Tommy Holohan is blazing an
exciting path as a fine new talent who is part of Samba Boys with Kettama and
has released on SCDD, Monnom Black and more. His remix is even more maximal,
with happy piano stabs dropped in and a funky bassline that brings an all-new
vibe. The Chronics then serve up 'Body Harmony', a slamming but playful cut
with a colourful lead synth motif and unrelenting drums. It's warm and
energising while also hitting hard, especially during the epic jungle breakdown.
Acclaimed techno producer and live artist Obscure Shape recently split from
his long-time partner SHDW but is already making waves as a solo talent with
a huge batch of unreleased music, including this remix. It's a turbocharged

Back
in February 2013, shortly after their impressive first release as a label,
Music Is Love launched a double VA entitled Lovebox: an 8 track double-vinyl
release that included tracks from 8 talented up-and-coming producers on their
roster. By innovatively previewing the producers in this way, the label laid
the foundations for what listeners could expect for each artists' subsequent
EPs. The artists who released on it were not hyped up flavours of the month,
but rather emerging talents who sat perfectly with the label's musical ethos
- quality and original underground house with a contemporary, dynamic feel.
Since the VA, the label have gone from strength to strength and have firmly
established themselves as one of the most brightest house labels around in
the UK. Just over a year later and following in the success of its
predecessor, MIL return with their second VA and with that, a chance for
listeners to hear the new additions they've acquired, in addition to some
already known faces. Liam Geddes opens proceedings with Untitled. A deep
sense of soul permeates the whole track as a rumbling baseline imbues the
beat with an ever-present sense of groove that never lets the head stop
nodding. Geddes has really fine tuned and matured his sound over the past
year, and this track is further evidence of his quality as a producer. The
subtle percussive rhythms, electronic bleeps and synth nuances give this
track a natural flow, as Geddes conjures something altogether more hypnotic,
dark and purposeful. Mr.KS, one of the newcomers to the label, outlines his
coolly crafted style with track (Music) Makes Me Stronger. Brittle drums and
deep warped synths suck you in and out and shape the structure of the beat,
while afflicted chord patterns combine with the hypnotic repetition of a
vocal sample to give the track a gesture towards techno but with a flow that
pulls in house elements. Cassio Kohl introducers himself with a warm, melodic
house number; rumbling synths circulate in the background of the track while
ticking hi-hats and snares play off against the sumptuous vocal sample, which
builds and falls back nicely into its original path until electronic glitches
sporadically ease in and move the beat forward. Jamie Trench has been making
some serious headway of late and his track I Want You with Rebel serves a
timely reminder of a producer on top form. A heavy, rolling baseline
resonates intently, building against murky vocal samples, shuffling snares
and off-beat key stabs that grow in presence and intensity - a track that
will no doubt prove a high point in any DJ set. Label boss Oli Furness has a
raw knack for creating crisp, heavy sounds and Take Monday Off remains on a
similar path, albeit the beauty lies in the subtlety of arrangements rather
than bigger hitting sounds |

finally commits an EP to his beloved label after his debut track
"Wednesday Evening" appeared 15 years ago. He dedicated his time to
promoting and pushing the label, but a slew of releases on Fresh Trip,
Immerse, Modern Urban Jazz, Cylon Recordings, Renegade, Exit Records and the
recent upload of previously unreleased stuff on Spotify finally ignited his
desire to get new music out again. Chris presents 4 tracks that some of the
closet people in his life have chosen and insisted that he release. Covering
a myriad of styles, this release showcases the loves in Chris's musical life.
"Dragons In the World", the title track, and a statement of intent,
a purist Jazz break laden workout that is indicative of the Inperspective
Sound. It's starts and never stops and showcases the most progressive side to
his musical arsenal. Inperspective stalwart profane insisted that this tune
should see the light of day so here we are. "Clock Tower" was
inspired by his trip to Croatia. Having heard Calibre & Dbridge back to
back at Hospitality on the beach. An inebriated Chris returned home, loaded
up his laptop and this tune came out. He played it the next day warming up
with the Hospital Records staff member Ed Priest suggested that the tune was
release worthy and Diffrent Music & Med School manager Dexta echoed this
sentiment. The track harks back to an earlier version of Chris's sound, a
chunky half time monster. "Amber's Bush" is an oldschool workout
that happened quickly and fluidly. Label family member Alex Jones
enthusiastic response to it when played out told Chris that this should be on
this EP. Smooth yet rugged roller that never stops once it starts. The
bassline makes you think of whale sounds, put it that way! "You
Understand" is the result of a THC fuelled session with long time friend
and fellow Black, bespeckled jungalist, Will Miles. It's loopy, it's rolling
and it's what many his style to be. A fitting end to this most welcome return |
