Liquor Talkin’ is the debut
studio album from Texas-based country artist Don Louis. Born in Irving and
raised on a 12-acre farm in Commerce, Texas, Don Louis learned the meaning of
work early on. He grew up tending to livestock, singing along to George Strait
and Al Green, and playing football. Don was an All-District defensive end for
Commerce High School and played on scholarship at Ouachita Baptist and
Southern Arkansas. He performed well at NFL combines, but an injury in 2020
changed everything and Don soon found himself chasing his other childhood
dream - being a professional singer. Don’s mix of Country, Rock, and Rhythm
and Blues has been winning over loyal fans from the start. He’s shared the
stage with acts such as Dylan Wheeler, and Don’s personality and gritty voice
have also earned him a healthy following on Spotify and social media. Ask Don
how he’s doing and he’ll often reply, "I'm blessed and highly favored!”

expression. In the relentless musical era of the late '90s, two passionate
souls, Eugeni Camacho and Rafa Navarro, embarked on a unique sonic odyssey by
blending the melodious marimba with the pulsating drums. Together, they
successfully created Stamina Percussio in their concerts. However, life
composed its own score, separating Rafa, who was abducted by the Canary
Islands, and Eugeni, who was drawn to vibrant New York. Upon their return,
after years of musical exploration in different projects with the Oscars
(Oscar Cuchillo and Oscar Rocher), their hearts aligned with a new melody. In
the loom of destiny, they discovered the emerging talent of Bernat Cucarella.
A prodigy with drumsticks and a 4.0 brain. By uniting Rafa's island
experiences, Eugeni's resonant jazz from the Brooklyn alleys, and the rich
musical diversity harvested in life's journeys by each of the members, they

The Years Ahead' is the living evidence the steadfastness of Parker and
Bicknell's vision remains absolutely untouched. Zeroed in on taking ravers on
an entrancing ride across pulsating corridors of whirring machine funk,
sizzling acid and shape-shifting waves of sound, both sides of this EP share
the best lot of both producers' uniquely innovative approach to rhythm and
production. Parker's opening cut, 'Solar Limb' is a textbook example of his
complex, and heavily layered sound-design. An unflinching swing keeping time,
brutal kicks punching holes in your head like giant steel hammers, the track
may evolve slowly, repeating its post-industrial mantra over and over again,
its flame doesn't flicker one iota. Switching onto red-level dance floor
menace, 'Badlands' pulls out the heavy artillery: an overkill bombardment of
puncturing 909 drums, vortical winds blowing in the back like some solar
storm of sorts, and this ebb-and-flow of FX-drenched synth ripples branded on
your cortex like odd signs of cult belonging. Bicknell's takeover starts with
the rugged and wild 'Chaotic World', whose title is definitely not usurped.
Enter a blazing maelstrom of frantic synth assault knocked askew, intense
bass tectonic movements and smashing arpeggios on the path of war. The track
develops a massive momentum, swelling from primordial raw matter into weirdly
arranged modular constructions, like that of Kubrick's monolith emerging with
ominous presence. 'In The Years Ahead' serves up a much distinctively
elegant, glossy type of textural experience, synths playing pong in a hall of
mirrors, interlacing and distorting as the percussive line unfolds its linear
train-like groove. It dashes across landscapes of hypermodern glass and
concrete with unrelenting horsepower, from techno's early sanctuary right up
onto tomorrow's temple of unmapped potentialities. *This much special

Dark
Entries summons Philadelphia synthesizer scribes The Ghostwriters to rouse
their ambient masterwork Remote Dreaming.
The late Buchla maestro Charles Cohen and multi-instrumentalist Jeff
Cain joined up in 1971 to craft electroacoustic chaos as Anomali, later
renaming themselves The Ghostwriters. Their collaborations with
choreographers and visual media artists led to their singular style,
straddling improvisation and composition, the oneiric and the immediate. Following
their debut album, Objects in Mirrors Are Closer Than They Appear, they were
approached by ambient outlet Mu-Pysch. Remote Dreaming would take shape in
various studios over nine months. Jeff Cain's instruments on this project
included electric and acoustic pianos, the Juno 106 synthesizer, and a Mirage
sampler, while Charles Cohen used his signature Buchla 200 Series Electronic
Musical Instrument. A stark departure from the tightly wound first LP, Remote
Dreaming shows the duo unfurling with soothing pianos and psychoacoustic
textures, its somnambulant drones just skirting the edges of the uncanny.
Although ignored in its time, Remote Dreaming is now heralded as a landmark
in 80s experimental ambient music. It is here released for the first time on
vinyl, spread across a double LP with five additional tracks, four of which
were previously unreleased. Remote Dreaming has been freshly remastered and
includes an insert with photos and liner notes. Proceeds will be donated to
SOSA (Safe from Online Sex Abuse), a nonprofit that combats online child sex
abuse and trafficking |

From
Sweden with Italo to Dresden with love. Stockholm's DJ City drops his first
release on Dresden's Uncanny Valley with the COSMICOMICS EP, a 100% fun
record for all the senses, deeply inspired by Italo Calvino's iconic short
story collection. The stories have inspired DJ City to a record that
aesthetically draws from 80s Italo Disco and 70s science fiction films. In
the book, each story is based on a scientific fact about the world and the
cosmos whilst using fiction to ask how we understand it. Where Calvino's
stories are comical and absurd, DJ City surrenders to the sublime and
romantic and moves further into the metaphysical world that Calvino created
to come up with three energetic and melodic tracks bursting heavily with
fantasy and drama. Deeply rooted in dance music's history, they shine with
Hi-NRG-vibes, strict dancefloor commitment and little easter eggs like that
Drexciya-reference in COSMICOMICS. The cover of the record is a painting from
2020 by Swedish artist Jens Faenge called THE INN. The picture seems to have
been broken up into several dimensions, and abstract details make it
difficult for the viewer to know exactly what and when the scene is taking
place. When shown in Shanghai, the painting was censored by government agents
and had to be taken down. A testament to the power of the image. Perhaps it
shows our main character, perhaps it shows us the author or the artist.

presents ANGLS 14 - four raw, spaced out, 909-driven tools in his
characteristically direct and minimalistic style. Sparse, delicate sequences
reverberate to provide a sense of space against classic drum patterns that
build into a full workout. The A1 opens with Third Eye - a slow, tense build
with heavy low end and terse percussion, setting the tone. Endorama on the A2
is driven by a living bleep - distorted, repeating, but never quite the same.
Decka opens the B side with a remix of Intergalactic to provide a groove
heavy, sequence-driven and lethal interpretation of Dimi's sound. Chrysalis
rounds off the package on the B2 with a rolling 101 bassline and descending

"Music is my forever
cove," writes Portland, Oregon's Luke Wyland of the ideas that give
shape to Kuma Cove, his latest album under his own name. Though named after a
real place on the Oregon coast, Kuma Cove casts its gaze far beyond the sightseer's
line of vision. Recorded live in the studio and blurring obvious lines
between computer-based composition and electro-acoustic instrumentation, it
is an album about flow, borders, transitory states, and shelter. Composed of
discontinuous ripples and repetitions ("I'm forever searching for a
better descriptor than looping, which feels too simple and flattened by
overuse," Wyland says), shaped into richly emotive arcs, and informed by
his experience as a person who stutters, it is also an album about identity,
self-expression, and the energies that sluice through and across what we

Greek artist ANNE is back with her latest EP, Chicago 1980, a four-track
techno record to be released on CROWD, the forward-thinking Berlin-based
label by FJAAK. Known for her deeply-rooted influences from Detroit and
90s-00s techno, ANNE delivers a masterclass in driving, hypnotic beats and
emotional depth with this new release. The Chicago 1980 EP features the title
track, a pulsating homage to the raw energy of the Chicago scene, blending
crisp percussion with hypnotic grooves and dreamy chords, reminiscent of
Robert Hood's classics. 'Propeller' keeps the intensity, pushing boundaries
with its high-energy rhythms, industrial sounds and relentless bassline.
'Storyteller' pulls listeners into deeper territory, combining intricate

'Red Bones' rounds up the EP, delivering a dark, atmospheric finish,

House Music legend Teddy Douglas of Basement Boys and Jasper St. Co. fame
gets set to unleash his first solo artist album, ‘I’m Here’, on the iconic
label, Nervous Records. Teddy has gone all out to deliver one of his most
creative and musically diverse albums to date. ‘I’m Here’ is a colourful

Baltimore “House” Sound. Teddy has held down a long and successful DJ career
since 1983 staring out in Baltimore and spreading his wings globally gracing
the decks at clubs such as Yellow in Japan to London’s Ministry of Sound and
beyond. In 1985 he met Jay Steinhour and Thommy Davis, who later formed The
Basement Boys production company. The Basement Boys have produced countless
dance classics like Crystal Waters’ 1991 Gold single, ‘Gypsy Woman’. In the
mid 90’s Teddy Douglas and Jay Steinhour opened Basement Boys Records and
released club anthems from Teddy Douglas, Jasper St. Co., Ann Nesby, Those

edits!" - Gilles Peterson. Monologues boss Ben Gomori has found acclaim
far and wide with his official edits of African gems for labels like Sterns
Music and Analog Africa (for artists including Orchestra Baobab, Amadou
Balake, Oby Onyioha). Here he rounds up four of his reworks of tasty tracks
from artists across the Afro-Caribbean spectrum on four edits licensed from
the good folk at Mr. Bongo, Soundway Records and Analog Africa. South African
legends Marumo's joyous 'Khomo Tsaka Deile Kae' gets a good juicing, full of
triumphant energy, while Black Truth Band's infectious 'Umbala' is stripped
back to a slinky, bumping disco groove. An exuberant slice of 1980s Camerooon
comes from Emmanuel Kahe Et Jeanette Kemogne on 'Ye Medjuie', where rousing
trumpet refrains meet undulating bass funk. Peter Britto's gorgeous lo-fi
soca anthem 'I Want Your Love' rounds off the package, its sweet melancholy

& Raredub inaugurate new sub-label Spectra on SHDW's Mutual Rytm, backed
by remixes from icon Marcel Dettmann. Spectra is a new sub-label from
contemporary techno powerhouse Mutual Rytm, with the project set to showcase
memorable singles alongside feature innovative remixers. The name Spectra
reflects the wide range of vibes the label will deal with and the diversity
of sounds that emerge through these creative reinterpretations. Needing
little introduction, Bulgaria's KiNK is a synth wizard and live specialist
who gets more out of machines than anyone else on Earth. He has dropped
endless standout tunes ranging from Running Back to Hypercolour and, more
recently, Mutual Rytm with his 'Quantum Shake' EP earlier this year. For this
latest outing, he works with fellow Bulgarian talent Raredub, known for his
own high-octane, distinctive and dynamic sound that has gained supporters
From FJAAK to Paul Woolford. The original 'Time to Change' has already
generated buzz and has been a favourite of DJs from across the electronic
realm, bringing a forceful and slamming cut with plenty of machine funk. A
buzzy lead synth roams through the mix to bring great menace, while
garage-like percussive loops keep things moving over a monstrous bassline.
One of techno's most influential DJs and producers, long-time Berghain
resident Marcel Dettmann joins the release to offer his unique touch as the
first remixer on the project. His 'Reconstruction' brings subtle nuances as
he slows the beats to a more dubbed-out house vibe and layers in bright
synths and swirling vocal loops that will get hands in the air. His
'Universal Raw Mix' closes the package in style, delivering a stripped-back
roller with freaky vocals and eerie synth details. KiNK & Raredub 'Time To

Mighty Scientist meets Jamaica’s original Crazy Mad Professor in a dub
showdown pitching their best musical shots against each other. The
winner.....well only you can decide!!!
The connection between these two great Mixers/ Producers is that they both
learned the trade and also cut their musical teeth working with the master
himself King Tubby. Scientist (b.Overton Brownie,1960, Jamaica) and the Crazy
Mad Professor (not to be confused with the London based Mad Professor, Neil
Frazer , Ariwa Sounds) initially both
helped King Tubby (b. Osbourne Ruddock) wind his transformers for his main
business of electrical repairs. They both moved over to engineering and
mixing when the need arose due to the heavy demands on Tubby’s time and
studio became too great. Scientist and The Crazy Mad Professor built their
careers on these formative years of training, as they say, if you learn from
the best your knowledge can only hold you in good stead and it certainly has
with both these talents. We have pitched both against each other on some
great rhythms recorded at the legendary Channel 1 Studio’s and then mixed by
them at King Tubby’s Studio. As was
often the case when rhythms needed voicing / versioning for that classic dub
cut. So sit back and enjoy two of Jamaica’s finest having a sound off and
pitched together for the first time on disc with some of their finest work.
To be truthful there is no winner here as both talents have already won and
proven their musical worth many times over, but do please marvel at the two
great artists if not competing with each other than at least showing their
best sides... |

Pat
Kelly possesses one of the great soul voices to come out of Jamaica.
Influenced by the fantastic American singer Sam Cook, Pat Kelly could ride
over any tune that came his way and with his outstanding falsetto voice
always added a little magic to each recording. Pat Kelly (born 1949,Kingston,
Jamaica) began his singing career in 1967 when he replaced Slim Smith as lead
singer of the Techniques, his voice working so well with the impeccable
harmonies of Winston Riley and Bruce Ruffin. Their first hit for the mighty
Duke Reid stable was a version of Curtis Mayfield's tune ‘You’ll Want Me
Back’ retitled ‘You Don’t Care’ which held the Number 1 position in Jamaica
for six weeks. Their next hit was another Curtis Mayfield cover of the
Impressions ‘Minstrel and Queen’ again retitled for the Jamaican market as
‘Queen Minstrel’. Further hits followed with such cuts as ‘My Girl’ and ‘Love
is Not a Gamble’ before in 1968 Kelly decided to become a solo artist and
hooked up with producer Bunny Lee. Bunny decided not to break the tried and
tested formula and put Kelly on another Curtis Mayfield track ‘Little Boy
Blue’ a style that suited his voice so well. This paid dividends and was
followed with ‘How Long’ (will I love you)' which gave them the biggest selling
Jamaican hit of 1969. A track which
broke the mould in that often used tradition where Jamaican tracks are
sweetened for the foreign markets by adding string arrangements. This was
reversed on this occasion as the tune had already been released in the UK and
dubbed over with strings so came back to the Jamaican shores and released
there. Another string to Pat Kelly's bow was his engineering skills. Having
already spent a year in America studying electronics he put this to good use
and became little known to many one of the chief engineers at Channel 1
studios in the late 1970's and early 1980's. For this release we have focused
on the fabulous singing skills of Mr Kelly and have compiled some of his
finest recording moments for your listening pleasure. The aforementioned timeless cuts to 'How
Long ( Will I Love You)', 'Little Boy Blue' alongside some other killer lost
classics, as our set opener 'It's a Good Day', 'Somebodys Baby', 'Give Love a
Try' and 'I'm In the Mood for Love'. His version of ‘Twelfth Of Never' in a
Rocksteady Style sounds as good now as it did then. We have also included his interpretation of
the James Carr soul hit 'Dark End of the Street' which has Pat Kelly working
over the same rhythm as 'How Long' but giving it a different slant with these
fresh lyrics. A fine set from one of the Islands finest,Jamaican Soul

launches his new label, Kapsela, with a 10-year anniversary reissue of his
lauded production ‘Ganzfeld’. Remixes come from Djrum, Ulla and Piezo. Objekt
launches his new label, Kapsela, with a 10-year anniversary reissue of his
lauded production ‘Ganzfeld’. An ambitious, evocative electro/IDM epic with
cavernous drums and a riotously funky bass solo, Ganzfeld was initially
released in 2014 on Leisure System as the B-side of Hypnagogia, a split EP
with Detroit electro pioneers Dopplereffekt. It quickly garnered critical
acclaim (including Track Of The Year by Resident Advisor) and amassed a cult
following despite clocking in at 147bpm, a relatively unwieldy tempo for most
DJs at the time. Given the seismic shifts in tempo and genre that have taken
place in the 10 years since and the emergence of a new generation of
producers with whom Ganzfeld’s influence has resonated, 2024 seemed like the
perfect moment for a re-release. Commissioning remixes for the first time,
Objekt enlists Djrum, who delivers a jaw-dropping 10-minute rendition which
weaves through multiple genres and tempos with the cinematic flair of a short
film score. Milan’s Piezo contributes a taut, prickly interpretation that
builds tension at 80bpm before exploding into a cathartic double-time closer.
Finally, US ambient artist Ulla fully deconstructs the original into a
serene, undulating lullaby. The vinyl comes with a free lossless download.

Ephemera
is the debut album by Fergus Jones, the artist formerly known as Perko, an
Edinburgh-born, Copenhagen-based producer, DJ, and founder of the FELT record
label. The nine-track release is out on Numbers on 18 October 2024. Ephemera
was developed with collaborative energy as the creative priority, produced by
Jones alongside an extensive list of like-minded musicians, lyricists and
vocalists including Huerco S, James K, Koreless, Birthmark, ELDON and
Withdrawn of Bristol’s Cold Light crew, Laila Sakini and Lia T. The album
embodies Jones’ inner journey as he ranges further than ever sonically and
emotionally, emphasising instinct, intensity, tactility and rapture. “Heima”
was written and produced with Huerco S and James K between Iceland, Copenhagen
and the United States’ East Coast. Developed during and named after the same
Icelandic artist residency that birthed Perko & Huerco S’ debut
collaboration “Prang,” “Heima” is a shimmering piece of fortified trip-pop
featuring vocals from James K, appearing here following solo releases for AD
93 and collaborations with Yves Tumor. “Tight Knit” aligns Jones’ graceful
production with the raw emotions thundering from the performances of
Birthmark, ELDON and Withdrawn of Cold Light, the shadowy Bristolian
collective channelling the city’s deep sonic history into an equally rich
future. In his own words, Jones says “This album was made over the last five
years in various studio and outdoor locations around the world, reflecting my
ongoing emphasis on natural collaboration as a creative ideal. It’s my most
personal record yet, written with experimentation and an open attitude as
guiding lights.” The album makes a distinctive impact that reverberates and
glows long after its runtime. Analogue audio sculpting, adaptive processes
and imaginative approaches to creating sound are at the forefront – whether
resulting from an endless exchange of iterative stems with Huerco S, or
hydrophone recordings with Koreless. Evocative vocal performances and
songwriting combine with weighty sound design, gliding easily between the
organic and synthetic to reflect and expand the thin spaces of transcendence
in each. Mixed by Michael James Thomas at Studio Moonchord. Co-produced by
