For
ALT014, Altered Circuits presents its first Various Artists release. In
addition to the label's co-founder, three friends of the label appear on this
heterogeneous, club-oriented 12". "Portal", with its breakbeat
layered drum section and spartan bass hook, sounds like classic Innershades
from the start. When the angular leads and slowly phased, ominous chords hit,
we are reminded of the artist's fondness for the new beat genre and his
ability to translate its tropes and conventions to the present. On "Show
You Love", Mr. Ho combines skippy two-step drums with an MS20 type of
flat bass. After introducing a one-bar mid-bass arpeggiator, gently swelling
pads, leisurely spread side riffs and reverb-drenched musings join, calibrating
the vibe to lush and groovy. On the other side, Oshana treats groove as the
focal point with her "Hey Kiss Kiss" contribution. Over its
6-minute course, the snappy 909 kick rarely relents while a bunch of often
short, many a time looped sequences emerge and disappear, unfolding a
hypnotic tapestry of textures. Rising talent Salom?e closes the VA with
"Late Night Summer", a track capable of setting the floor in motion
at any moment. It revolves around a portamento-heavy, neon-tinged lead that
lingers long after the track ends and a sturdy, efficient one-note bass pulse |

Sihir's
unrelenting debut is fifteen minutes of pounding hardcore refusal that sounds
really very much like a burning police headquarters. Razor sharp threads of
feedback weave themselves together tightly around our necks as echoes of
clanging sheet metal create a euphoric industrial warp over traditional
music. The band is the combined sonic force of punks from Colombia,
Nusantara, Spain and Sweden, converging like avenging angel upon the cursed
imperial core of Berlin to answer back in full. They blend sideways raw punk
incantations with crasher instincts, stirred well and shaken up through
phased percussive rumbles that forcibly pin you to the wall about your weak
bullshit. Javanese artist Enka Komariah comes through with a spellbinding
artwork telling the story of a person with a tiger demon spirit who steals
corpses from graves on the night of Kliwon to reach supernatural powers. From
the right to our bodies as women to the idiocy of imperialism
("Illogical! From East to West!") the righteous lyrics howled in
Bahasa Melayu demonstrate a band with their bloodshot eyes open to our
burning world. Despite or because of this, this is somehow a euphoric record,
the furious sound of joyful militants smiling in the dark, certain of a
victory not far off |

Mike
Dunn is a pivotal house artist who brought his own famously raw and
stripped-back style combined with infectious hip hop elements. He is behind
plenty of well-known anthems, most famously 'Dance You Mutha' and 'God Made
Me Phunky', and founded Dance Mutha in 1988. It released music by MD
Connection, Gershon Jackson and I-ROC-T, while Dunn also co-founded seminal
acid labels Warehouse Records and Muzique Records which played a key role in
the development of Chicago and acid house. Dunn has continued to produce over
the ensuing four decades and has landed on the likes of Defected, Nu-Groove,
Classic, Trax and many more. The relaunch of the Dance Mutha label has been
inspired in part by Dunn's discovery of a raft of 'lost' unreleased masters
from the late '80s and early '90s. It's these tracks that provide the
jumping-off point with this new release. '43:31' is the first out of the
blocks and brings prickly acid texture to raw analogue drums. Slapping hits
add extra bite to this most stripped-back and effective slice of pure
warehouse music. Then come the snappy snares and deep bass of 'Acid Feet
(Phaze 1)'. This spare, impactful cut is riddled with shapeshifting acid and
caustic synth textures that bring the rugged drums to life. Last of all, the excellent
Time Machine' will indeed take you all the way back to the dark, delirious
and delicious days of the earliest acid house with its wonky 303s burrowing
deep into the night next to coarse claps and ice-cold hits. Support from

Doom
is made out of 666 tons heavy riffing, vocals filled with pain, regret and
spite as well as leaden song-structures stretched taut to the point of
ripping. PENTAGRAM embody all those virtues like no other contender in this
oldest of all genres of Metal being founded by none other than Black Sabbath.
Many have named PENTAGRAM the true heirs of those originators of Heavy Metal
and honourably dubbed them 'the American Black Sabbath'. In this sixth
incarnation of the band, Doom lord Bobby Liebling had reunited with drummer
Joe Hasselvander, who had already been a member of PENTAGRAM twice before.
Hasselvander played all the instruments, while Liebling added his matchless
vocals. 'Sub-Basement' was the second output of this line-up and is regarded

Taken from the 'No Prayer on the
Road' tour, this setlist was recorded at the iconic Wembley Arena on 17the
December 1990.This tour marked the arrival of a new guitarist, Janick Gers,
who replaced Adrian Smith. Following their large-scale stages used during the
1980s, the band opted for a less complicated production for this tour, with
bassist Steve Harris commenting: 'We thought Seventh Son... the show was just
a bit hard to control. I mean, the real Eddie and the backdrops I thought
were amazing, but the giant icebergs and stuff were a bit cheesy, I think,
and we just wanted to keep all that out and turn it into a gig like a massive
club performance again, which we really managed to do. And having Janick in
the band kicked everyone more than necessary up the arse, too, because, being
new, he was so enthusiastic about everything. I think he made us open our
eyes a bit and see things in a new way' |

collaborative album featuring Coby Sey and Flowdan on new label LAYER. Ben
Klock and Fadi Mohem present their first collaborative album on their new
label LAYER. The ten-track full length project titled Layer One follows the
hypnotic EP Klockworks 34 that set the stage in 2022. In a bold departure
from the techno roots that have defined and nurtured their careers, Klock and
Mohem are now pushing genre boundaries, exploring IDM, ambient and
experimental electronic music while still retaining the brilliance that
characterised their earlier work. The conceptual direction of Layer One
delves into a post-human world, where humans are close to extinction on
Earth, leaving only imprints, traces, and relics behind—digital fossils and
machine-generated images capturing fleeting moments of non-human photography,
as Artificial Intelligence remains in a world that quietly thrives without
us. We do not perceive this as a bleak apocalyptic dystopia, but more a sober
and serene reflection of a world that continues to exist and flourish,
indifferent to the absence of humanity. Despite this unremitting setting,
through this journey we find survivors who signal a remembrance of the human
sensibilities. Elevating this project are two very human and dynamic
collaborations featuring the charismatic Coby Sey and the legendary grime MC
Flowdan. Sey, a prominent figure in the British music scene known for his
work with artists like Tirzah and Mica Levi, injects his music with a mesmerizing
emotional depth. Opening the album with the powerful track ‘Ultimately,’ Sey
offers spoken-word musings on creativity and life over experimental
landscapes meticulously crafted by Klock and Mohem. Nostalgia permeates this
opening track, and track 7 ‘Clean Slate’ reinforces this sentiment with Sey’s
stream-of-consciousness wordplay. Flowdan, the gritty MC whose verses have
become anthems of the UK grime movement, made headlines in 2023 with two
songs that reached the top 20 of the UK singles chart. In 2024, he was
awarded his first Grammy for the Skrillex and Fred Again collaboration
Rumble, becoming the first grime artist to win in any category. On track ‘Our
Sector,’ Flowdan unleashes his raw energy and dynamic flow, adding a
thrilling vocal dimension to the album’s narrative. The fluid delivery of his
lyrics and rhythmic timing are enhanced by the staccato beats and abstract
synths. These collaborations are not mere features; they are pivotal moments
that crystallize the album’s vision—an experimental re-imagining of
electronic music’s possibilities. Immediately offering an impressive entry to
Klock and Mohem’s changing sonic universe ‘Escape Velocity’ shows the
collaboration at its strongest. Deftly juggling between ambient chords and
more densely intricate rhythmic moments. These tightly layered textures and
intense clashing moments are continued through most of the album. On other
tracks the duo are just as innovative ‘Rest Assured’ rips open the sound
palette Klock and Mohem are known for, synths dart around flickering through
into unexpected areas. Penultimate track ‘The Machine’ feels like the
internal innards of a PC or synthesizer brought to life. Electricity flows
through the track like an auditory exploration of the digital world's hidden
mechanical and electrical processes. In contrast, final track ‘Melatonin’
does exactly what the name suggests; its soothing melodic ambience cradles
the listener as the album draws to a close. Alongside the album’s release,

follow up album to Tapper Zukies `Bunker Buster’ set, sees Tapper again rally
calling his fellow reggae singers to work up some great songs. This group of
tunes lean towards a more soulful sound,
yet still holding that reggae feel we know and expect from Mr Zukie.
The title itself `A Soulful Chant I’ we felt suited this set of songs
perfectly . The roll call of great singers starts with Prince Alla adding his
distinctive feel to the opening track `Children Don’t Cry’. `Heaven On Earth’
features Junior Ross on vocal duties.
`Poverty’ is richly enhanced by one of Jamaica’s greatest vocal bands, Silvertones. Tapper himself follows with
the thoughtful `Man-A-Man’ and another
great reggae trio the Viceroys counter
with `Help Me’. Dennis Walks guides us with `I Wanna Go’ and Junior
Ross appears again with the timeless `Be On The Right Track’. Mr Zukie points
the way on `People of Love’ and Prince Alla insures us that right will always
overcome wrong doing with `Good Over Evil’. A
favourite of ours `That Was The Day’ again song so majestically by the
Viceroys leads us into the Silvertones `Magic Touch’. Little Roy leads us out with `Youth In The

Robert
Rental takes up residence with Dark Entries again for an expanded double
vinyl reissue of Mental Detentions. Robert Rental was a Scottish pioneer of
DIY electronic music. Along with his illustrious collaborators like Thomas
Leer and Daniel Miller, Rental helped shape the countercultural sound of the
UK with his timely melding of Krautrock, dub, and punk. Originally from Port
Glasgow, he moved to the south of England with Thomas Leer in the late 1970s,
and became involved with the local music scene. Robert Rental however
released very little of his solo music - the only solo recording from The
1970s is the 7" single "Paralysis" first released on the
homemade Regular Records in 1978, and re-released on Dark Entries in 2020.
Mental Detentions was released as a cassette in 1979, the same year as his
masterpiece The Bridge, a collaboration with Thomas Leer. Using an assortment
of budget electronics - a Roland drum machine, a kid’s Stylophone keyboard,
and an Electroharmonix DrQ - Robert takes us on a gauzy, trip, at once
expansive and intimate, minimalist and maximalist. “Stuck” is mangled
motorik, like Neu! run through a meat grinder, while “Vox” meanders like an
18 minute ambient fever dream. Robert spoke to friends of his frustration at
being unable to replicate his sound in a commercial studio - it was these
demos' sound that he wanted to create. Sometimes having only access to the
most rudimentary of equipment can sharpen one’s craft - necessity is the
mother of invention, indeed. This ethic shines in his work, providing a
throughline to the now, as the world feels bigger and smaller than ever.

Daniels third LP comes from Rapha, marking his return to the label after
contributing to its split and compilation series. Known for bold acid
treatments and dark, futuristic tones, Rapha takes his craft to new heights
on Midnight Dancer, which also features remixes by CT Kidobo and PRZ. The
album opens with I Win U Win, pulling listeners into an adventure of pulsing
basslines and cosmic, minimal electro. CT Kidobos remix then twists it into a
darker, seductive French-inspired club sound. The third track, ...And Them,
continues the journey of the opener with mechanical beats and textured
soundscapes, while Alien Dance highlights Raphas signature sharp, distinct
style leaving a strong mark on the deep electro club scene. On the flip side,
Midnight Dancer plunges into a hypnotic realm of haunting echoes and
distorted rhythms, with heavy basslines reverberating through the darkest

Aussie
techno innovator Alpharisc returns to Mutual Rytm for a second standout EP.
Shane Yates, aka Alpharisc, has been living and breathing techno for over 30
years. He first began producing in the mid-90s and has amassed a fine
hardware collection that lends his sounds a raw, rugged feel. After breaking
through with the Wetmusik party and label collective, he has let his music do
the talking and isn't afraid of colouring it with a hint of nostalgia.
Previous material has come via several notable labels over the years, but his
most recent outings have been on SHDW's Mutual Rytm imprint, with his solo EP
'Ram Face' from 2023 becoming an underground favourite alongside a fine
outing as part of the label's 'Federation Of Rytm II' and 'Federation Of Rytm
III' compilations. Once again, he returns in style, uncovering an impactful
selection of gems across his new 'Remain Seated' EP. The opener 'Peace Be
With You' is a straight-up techno weapon with urgent synth flashes peeling
off the groove like a police siren. The drums hit hard in true Alpharisc
style before 'Hail' builds on that with a more hard-edge groove topped with
frosty waves of white noise that electrify the dance floor. 'Remain Seated'
brings a hint of trance-leaning energy with its bright sheets of synth
lighting up the driving drums and saw-tooth bass loops. Next, 'Look At This'
is another brilliantly forceful techno sound with slamming drums and rusty
synth loops, layering melancholic pads up top and adding a cerebral edge,
while closer 'In Your Mind' is from the Jeff Mills school of synth-laced and
serene deep techno with lush pads radiating cosmic light. As a bonus,
digital-only cut 'Expedition' brings some backlit celestial synth work to a

comes with a follow up on his Clone Jack For Daze debut from 2019 with his
buddy Betonkust.. This time he digs in the local history from his homebase
Belgium. The country that brought us the New Beat craze which had its
breeding grounds in club's such as Boccaccio. A venue which used to be one of
the prime locations in the Benelux to hear the latest House and Techno
releases in '89,'90 and '91. All the fresh new sounds from Chicago, Detroit,
the big New York labels and producers, Early UK rave and of course the local
producers from the Benelux and specificaly those on labels such as R&S,
Music Man and USA Import records could be heard in this euphoric club. No
surprise that Serge, the founder of Clone records has some fond memories of his
visits to Boccaccio and no surprise that this era always has been a huge
influence on Innershades. This Homage EP brings a collection of tracks
drenched in bleepy acid lines, topped with choir pads and slightly detuned
slowly phased chords and dominant mixed bass sections. Energetic tracks that
capture the spirit of those days with a contemporary touch from Innershades.

early days, where people danced for daze on all these energetic and

Lisbon's
Para?so is back with its 14th release 'Crossroads' by local
legend-in-the-making Salbany and remixes from portuguese dance music pioneer
Cisco Ferreira a.k.a. The Advent and Detroit's own AMX otherwise known as The
AM. The record opens with 'My Life', a warm yet propulsive
detroit-referencing techno cut with pad washes, shuffling hi hats, an
introspective vocal sample, cascading organ solos and arpeggios to a blissful
effect. A2 'Crossroads' brings us a raw, bouncy, jam-like rhythmic section with
syncopated toms and snares offset by a piano stab motif and emotive strings.
'Next Morning' closes side A, a hypnotic, curveball roller featuring a warm,
rolling bass, offbeat drum hits glued together by immersive pads and UR-esque
strings. Side B opener 'Mito' delves into trippier territories with admirable
skill - not losing an inch in dancefloor potential - fusing bleeps and bells,
beautiful chord progressions and hyper groovy drum machine programming.
Techno icon Cisco Ferreira steps in with his 'Lisbon Dub' remix, transforming
'Crossroads' into a sparser, delay-infused slow-burner held together by a
dope bass line. AMX brings the lead synth of 'Mito' to a lower octave,
mutating it into a swingy midwestern experimental cut that inspires urgency and
life force. A restless mantra emerges via the digital bonus track, an
alternate 'Elevated' remix of 'Crossroads' that superbly merges original
detroitian leanings and industrial textures in a no-frills peaktime banger.
This is one of those records that lovingly reminds us techno is about
emotion, swing, energy. As in life, nothing here sits still: movement,
physical and metaphysical, is the messenger of progress |

Patience
is a virtue well-rewarded in techno; finding the right groove to build on
then holding your nerve long enough to pay off the wait at the optimum moment
is a much more skillful endeavour than it would seem for such a minimalistic
style. And few display this talent better than Detroit originals Scan 7. Part
of the hallowed Underground Resistance family, Scan 7 first broke out in the
mid-90s with a series of jacking machine funk 12”s that showcased their savvy
for self-control - a faculty they have demonstrated in releases year-on-year
since. Highlighting this continuous font of vitality, Tresor Records has
returned to the source and is proud to announce the reissue of Scan 7’s debut
LP, Dark Territory. First unleashed on the label in 1996, the album has been
remastered from the original DATs by Mike Grinser, augmenting already
powerful tracks such as the snake-like, teasing Unusual Channel (mixed by the
master Blake Baxter), and the harder-edged VII resulting in music that will,
without doubt, provoke an enhanced response when the pressure is finally
released. Repressed on vinyl with updated artwork, these tracks still sound
like a blueprint for the future, testament to the prescience and assurance
Scan 7’s leader, Trackmaster Lou, clearly had when writing “I hope you enjoy

The
album was recorded on a slow summer day in July 2023 in the old theatre hall
of KC Nona in Mechelen. Besides the room's lively acoustics and the conscious
choice for an upright piano, the recording is characterised by the usual
unorthodox playing techniques and carefully documented imperfections. In
contrast to their previous record Het Verdriet, which emerged from a research
project on Flemish (folk) music history, this time the premise was to compose
and collect new material without any concepts or limitations. The result is a
chaotic blend of abstract and melodic work featuring both solos, duos and
trios, two covers of pop songs and some occasional whistling and Norwegian
lyrics. De Wonderen is a testament to the beauty found in the small wonders
of everyday life. As Guy Peters writes in the liner notes: «With this album
that bubbles with percussive ideas and unpredictable contrasts, you are once
again reminded that beauty is more striking when you have to wait for it, or
find it in unusual places." Het Mierenlied and Vader Ademt were released
as singles with accompanying video's by respectively 3D and motion designer
Robbe Callewaert and visual artist and ceramist Juliette Pons. The full album
will be released on W.E.R.F.-records November 22nd, on LP and digital
platforms. The artwork was designed by Jelle Martens with photography by

Amandra,
half head honcho behind Ahrpe Records, goes for subtly evolving and droning
atmospheres. With releases spanning electronic genres and record labels: Nous
klaer Audio, AD 93, Tikita or Semantica, just to name a few; the French
producer ba with coherence his own vision of acid and tribal rhythms that can
be presented with either bright and soft feelings or through a Brera Som Som
EP. As always with Amandra, there is a blend of poetic and soft hidden touch
given to the music through carefully crafted personal Som is a 4 tracker EP,
recorded back when he lived in Warsaw Poland, showcasing the artists ability
to navigate through nich double 12 package cherry topped with four
intelligent and eclectic remixes from artists with their own unique identity:
Shieldin Brainwaltzera. Amandra on disc 1. Brera Som Som: I want my music to
breathe dirty so its alive to my ears, trying to stay away from surgical,
clean, electronic music. The Prophet recorded by hand, with assumed offbeat
imperfections, as always. I wanted to get a naive Asian mood out of it, just
to try and c track. I tend to think a lot about my tracks and their meaning
more in terms of feelings, art and techniques than in terms of deep dance
floors or whatever. Brera Som Som is a try at using the chiaroscuro technique
depicted in classical paintings for instance interesting focus on some very
specific elements. Cyborg Pelikana: Recorded out of a jam on a Soma Pulsar 23
and some heavy distorted synths, it ended up sounding like no other recordings
bit different as I wanted to have a more composed like approach here.
Fanfaron: Here is a try at going jungle... with a Moog DFAM and a 303
processed through a Sherman Filterbank. Prorokini: This one belongs to a
phase where I was exploring the sampling side of electronic music. Until that
moment I was building 100 based on raw drum machines and some processing,
then started feeling how it would feel to sample some raw external beats and
process them my way. I didnt pursue that sampling lead much afterward because
it felt like a boring approach to me that stood out anyway, like this one,
which Im very proud of. The synths are clearly programmed on the Prophet 08,
it cant go any Instruments than that, if you like them, go grab that synth
Remixers on disc 2. Cyborg Pelikana Shielding Remix: I liked the dry and
direct qualities of the original track and wanted to maintain that feeling
while collaging it using my own proc Recorded in my old home studio in
Stockholm.Brera Som Som Brainwaltzera Remix: no comment. Fanfaron Whylie
Remix: The remix was made using resampling techniques, the rhythmic noises
were transformed into driving percussive layers pushi character. A more
emotional overlay was added to the track based on the sentimental and personal
approach I built through. Brera Som Som Martinou Remix: Interpreting Amandras
work has been on my bucket list for a while. Theres something in it that is
innately humanizing and raw capture in my remix. The melody line from the
remix is just a snapshot of a small part of the full original track, but it
stuck with my improvisation to what you see before you today. With this remix
I wanted to make something that would swell slowly and ring of All original
tracks written and produced by Amandra. Remixes written and produced by
