Décima Víctima were a Spanish
band that, during their short-lived career between 1981 and 1984, developed a
very personal sound reminiscent of Joy Division, The Cure and other British
post-punk bands. Despite commercial success evaded them, rarely has any
Spanish band achieved such a high degree of quality and coherence in their
music and personality. Although included in our past release MR 305 (2010) as
part of a limited edition boxset, this is the first time their debut album
gets an official reissue in its original single LP format. For this edition,
the sound of the original tape recordings has been cleaned and improved and
the artwork has been slightly modified following the band's original idea |

45s, including their never-released first acetate, with 16 tracks spanning
from 1979 to 1991 that prove why Lyres are one of the truly essential garage
bands. Contains a 20-page booklet with photos and liner notes by Jeff
Conolly. Includes a CD with all 16 tracks. Limited edition of 700 units.
Formed in Boston in the late 70s out of the ashes of the legendary DMZ, Lyres
are one of the truly essential garage bands and the seven 45s contained in
this box set clearly prove why. Featuring 16 tracks spanning from 1979 to
1991, they're loaded with sound, attitude and a way of making music not found
around too often. Included is their never-released first acetate, recorded
live and self-pressed only two weeks after the band's first rehearsal. Their
amazing debut 7" on Sounds Interesting Records is presented in facsimile
artwork, as are a string of magnificent tracks the band recorded during the
1980s for Boston's Ace of Hearts Records, run by Rick Harte, who also
produced the recordings. Among them, titles such as 'Buried Alive', 'Help You
Ann', 'Really Want You Right Now', 'She Pays The Rent', 'Not Looking Back'
and other staples of the 1980s rock & roll scene that show the band (and
its varying line-ups) at the top of their game |

South Shields in 1977, punk&Oi! band Angelic Upstarts recorded two studio
albums for Warner Brothers and two for EMI's Zonophone subsidiary before
being dropped by the latter. Work was begun on an abortive fifth studio album
that forms the bulk of the brilliant Lost And Found, with superior versions
of Last Tango In Moscow material featuring the classic Upstarts line up of
Mensi/Mond/Glyn/Decca. Live tracks from the Main Event gig at the London
Astoria have Mensi/Hayes/Ronnie Rocker/Max Splodge. This is required

Visious Visions single "I
Beat You" is a holy grail in punkrock collector circles, not just
because of its' limited run of only 109 copies but also because it is a
MONSTER of a hit. Formed in Halmstad Vicious Visions soon moved to Berlin and
honed their craft in squats in the shadow of the iron wall. The may come from
the same little town as Roxette but they sound more Berlin than Halmstad.

Yearbook 1977. Kicking off with a timeless anthem from Queen with ‘We Are The
Champions’ and followed by the huge instrumental rock of ‘Fanfare For The
Common Man’ by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. The song that would open ‘Live Aid’
years later is next up from Status Quo with their signature ‘Rockin’ All Over
The World’, and followed with classic pop-rock from 10CC with ‘Good Morning
Judge’ and Yes with their huge hit ‘Wonderous Stories’. Hot Chocolate enjoyed
their first #1 with ‘So You Win Again’, and Donna Summer and Boney M. both
make the first of two appearances on this collection with Top 3 pop smashes

Building
on the promise of his standout Vacuum EP, Brendon Moeller returns to Samurai
Music to dial his expert dub techno up to 170 for a full-length trip. Moeller
is celebrated as a versatile operator applying cavernous sound design and
decades-deep machine soul to a broad sweep of tempos and styles, and his
pivot to D&B territory is as natural as it is original. It's a perfect
fit on Samurai, where palettes, pressure and rhythms are continually yielding
fresh results in this highly fertile zone of modern club music. It's no
secret Moeller is a prolific producer, and following his initial connection
with Samurai he offered up a vast folder of tracks created in this latest
furrow of his production. The label has since sifted through and puzzled out
a sonic narrative, first realised on the Vacuum EP in June 2024 and now
extended with Further. For anyone keyed into the deep, techno-informed
innovations taking place at 170, there is a logical connection to Moeller's
take on the sound, but at the same time these tracks stand apart from
anything else out there right now. In the particular textures, the unfolding
arrangements and monolithic reverbs Moeller threads together with hypnotic
poise, his accomplished legacy shines through. Whether it's the snarl of a
delay feedback pushed a little further, a soaring synth swell sculpted into
artful noise or a particular shuffle applied to a particular drum rack,
Moeller's tracks unfold with a masterful poise, hitting the sweet spot
between club-spirited physicality for the deepest of dance floors and
introspective headphone trips. Teeming with detail, swathed in soul and
engineered to perfection, the inspiration driving Moeller is palpable across
the LP, and it's resulted in some of his finest work in a career studded with
highlights |

the time this iconic album came out in 1981, Susana would have already lost
her passport and her right to vote in Spain as punishment for her sexually
scandalous activities, from cutting edge theater performances in full nudity
to her allegedly 'immoral' sexology advice column on Play Lady Magazine, goes
without saying -- she wasn't very popular with even the post-Franco Spanish
government. This album is but one of the various facets of this sexual
trouble maker's portfolio, an A class studio production backed by top shelf
instrumentalists and recording engineers, everything seems perfectly fine
until Susana's shamelessly unfiltered erotic lyrics come in with her powerful
voice, unapologetically shocking for the time. A manifesto in sexual

29th November, Sasha returns to Night Time Stories with his latest project,
the score to Da Vinci Genius – an immersive exhibition celebrating Leonardo
Da Vinci, the Italian Renaissance polymath. His 2016 release Scene Delete on
the same label was Sasha as you’ve never heard him before: an adventurous
imaginary movie score, showcasing a bold left-turn for the veteran
DJ/producer. Fast forward to 2024, Sasha delves into classical music,
combined with his renowned deep sonics. Using his electronic music expertise
and movie passion, he enlisted Scene Delete veterans Dennis White, Dave
Gardner, and Barry Jamieson for this complex project. “I’ve never written
music for a project like this before, so it was really exciting working with
Flora and Fauna Visions (FFV) on this incredible brief," Sasha. The show
explores Da Vinci’s mind, blending his iconic works with digital technology
to create a stunning visual experience, and the music needed to support that.
Sasha’s team aimed to capture the atmosphere of film scores they love,
inspired by composers like Nils Frahm, Jon Hopkins, Steve Reich, Vangelis,
and Jean Michel Jarre. They also took cues from Stanley Kubrick’s classical
music use in films and modern composers like Hans Zimmer, blending classical
movements with electronic sounds as well as incorporated medieval choral
music from Renaissance composer Josquin des Pres, which influenced some
ambient sections. Guided by FFV’s mood boards. “It was a different,
challenging way of working, but I hope people think it’s one of the most
accomplished things we’ve ever done.” Sasha. From start to finish,
compositions like ‘Mosaic,’ ‘Equality,’ and ‘Clouds’ are woven into soft
melodies and emotive timbres, while ‘Super Hero (with Sentre)’ and ‘Into The
Metaverse’ return to more familiar sounds. With Da Vinci Genius, Sasha is at
home in unfamiliar territory, blending classical and modern elements. The
show debuted in Berlin in 2021, transferred to Amsterdam, and will wow
audiences in Florida and India later this year |
