No band has ever sounded like
Garbochock from Malmö, Sweden, and fronted by Stry Terrarie. Not then, not
now. The influences may have been Jim Morrison, the Stooges and the Sex
Pistols but the band tore everything down and created something completely new
that made them totally unique. With its wild, spiky and murky sound,
Garbochock stood out from their contemporaries. They were doomed to be a cult
band and nothing for the general public. The debut album 'Ritual' was
released in 1980 and sold just under 4,000 copies. The following year the
band disbanded but the debut remains a post-punk classic. With 'Ritual',
Garboshock went off the beaten track and they sound as eternally timeless
today as they did over 40 years ago. Now the record is being released on LP
with two bonus tracks |

Denmark's
death/grinding brutes Septage blazed a trail in the underground with two
lacerating EP's and a split with Hyperdontia. Now they present their decayed
debut full length via Me Saco Un Ojo Records, Dark Descent and Extremely
Rotten. Abrasive noise and ecstatic grooves intertwine in a rotten cacophony,
swaying like a bloated carcass in a stagnating swamp pool. The fetid hooks
and miasmic spew of Septage's rancid music instantly permeate the air with an
odour of decompositional fluids. Ravenous vocals flood the gargantuan
instrumentals with even more primitive aggression, ensuring a visceral
experience across the board. Their septic splendour knowing no remorse,
expect to have your skull trepanned by each of this vicious pieces of musical
disgust. Still surviving_ That is quite unfortunate. Septage will fix that.
If your cranium can withstand the bludgeoning bubonic death metal, then the
piercing drill of grinding fury will surely remove any slimy grey brain
matter that lives on. Across these 15 songs of sewer/ridden sadism, Septage
show that their EP's were not mere lightning in a bottle, but a promise for
one of the most deranged and malicious debut albums of the grindcore world.

Pope
Adrian 37th Psychristiatric is the third LP by RUDIMENTARY PENI. Recorded in
1992 but not released until 1995, it was the first music the band recorded
after their already leftfield Cacophony album. It is an underrated and
difficult masterpiece of truly outsider music. Full of harrowing and morbid
songs based on repetition, repetition and repetition, pushing the listener
into a trance like mood. Pope Adrian 37th Psychristiatric shows the most
experimental side of RUDIMENTARY PENI testing the punk song concept, turning
it into a mantra chant at times while sounding like only RUDIMENTARY PENI
could. The album opens with lead track 'Pogo Pope', which sets the tone, with
Blinko repeatedly singing 'Pogo Pope' ad nauseam, and the whole of the album
has a continual loop of the phrase -Popus Adrianus' running through its
entirety. At the time Nick Blinko was experiencing severe delusions and
believed that he was Pope Adrian the 37th and was detained in a psychiatric
hospital under Section 3 of the 1983 Mental Health Act. The album is unhinged
and challenging but 100% pure and idiosyncratic. This official reissue comes
on a single sleeve with printed inner and 16 page booklet with Nick Blinko
artwork and has been remastered from the original tapes by Arthur Rizk |

rock&roll, surf, twist, beat y ye-yé por Las Mosquitas, el primer grupo
beat femenino surgido en Argentina en los 60. Su raro LP para el sello Music
Hall de 1965 junto a temas de singles y su imposible EP compartido con los
Gatos Salvajes. Con su imagen a medio camino entre las Shangri-Las y los
primeros Beatles, Las Mosquitas fueron apadrinadas por Ricardo Romero de Los
Cinco Latinos (pioneros del rock en Argentina). El grupo lo formaban Stella
Maris Conde (Pupé) en voz y guitarra, María Cristina Medina (Nita) en el
bajo, Ana María Millán (Nené) en la voz y guitarra y Beatriz Cabrera (Dina)
en la batería. Su repertorio combinaba canciones propias con curiosas
versiones de clásicos de la época y realizaron giras a nivel nacional e
internacional, a veces acompañando a los Cinco Latinos y otras ellas solas.
Ciudad que pisaban, la conquistaban, eran recibidas por fans, embajadores y
presidentes con sus hijas, ansiosos por ver a Las Mosquitas en vivo. Giraron
por países como Panamá, República Dominicana, Perú, Puerto Rico, Chile,
Uruguay, Brasil, Curazao y toda Argentina. El éxito de Las Mosquitas fue
inmediato, la juventud nuevaolera latina estaba sedienta de música moderna

Retrofuturism,
outer space and limitless exploration are the central themes of Cesar Quinn's
second album, "HELO". On the record, the band (Frederik Daelemans,
Thibault Goudket, Neil Claes, Jacob Hus) has shifted from their typical
art-rock sound, moving away from the indie and jazz influences that
characterized their debut, "Opal", which drew comparisons to King
Krule and Alfa Mist. Instead, they incorporate influences from contemporary
hip-hop experimentalists like The Alchemist and Armand Hammer, while also
revisiting the space jazz of Sun Ra and the ambient probings of Terry Riley.
"HELO" was self-produced by Frederik Daelemans, with co-production
contributions from Aram Santy and Youniss. LA-based mixing and mastering
engineer Zeroh (associated with Injury Reserve, Liv.e, Pink Siifu) added his
hip-hop flair, enhancing the band's sound into a cohesive, sample-inspired
experience. Features play a significant role in "HELO". The first
vocal feature is Antwerp artist Youniss on "SMOKE," followed by New
York vocalist Semiratruth, who energises "QUASAR." The
collaboration with Belgian jazz saxophonist Mattias De Craene, long discussed
but never realised on the debut album, finally materialises on
"MARS," where he explores a range of saxophones, creating a rich
tapestry of sound. The standout feature is undoubtedly Detroit rapper
Zelooperz, whose verse and chorus on the title track "HELO"
fulfilled a long-held aspiration for the band, given their admiration for his
work with The Alchemist and Earl Sweatshirt. Finally, Zeroh lent his deep
vocals to the ambient track "BOOTES," further uniting the album |

debut LP weaves a divine, harmonic universe. Ghent-based singer-songwriter
and composer Nele De Gussem (Uma Chine) has today announced her debut solo
album The Loom Of Longing, out February 7 2025 on Viernulvier Records. De
Gussem has delivered a sensational album of mystic pop, psychedelic ambiance
and pulsating electronica. To shape her divine harmonic universe, she has a
preoccupation with soundscaping that involves using her sensual voice and
electronic/analog instruments as a sort of palette of rich textures where
she’s the auteur, as opposed to the cog in a bigger machine as she’s been
with her band, Uma Chine. “This album celebrates having found desire as a
compass in my life and as a medicine to quell fear, holding back and keeping

‘Wonder’ comes with an eye-popping music video by Belgian visual artist
Victor Verhelst (STROOM). Verhelst crafts a unique collage of 90s computer

Across
two mammoth, critically acclaimed compilations Berlin-based Musician and DJ
Curses' Next Wave Acid Punx series has shone a blacklight onto the darker
side of club music. Featuring tracks from the 1970s right up to the present
day made by both musical legends and up and coming talents alike, Curses has
expertly threaded the needle between Experimental Pop, Post Punk, EBM,
Electro, Techno and more to produce a stunning alternative history of
clubland. But, as every good digger knows, there's always more gems to
uncover and so once again Curses has crowbarred open the electronic music's
vaults to bring us four more long forgotten tracks, each one
"Revamped" for maximum Dancefloor effect with Curses himself
providing 2 edits alongside precision tooled reworks from Melbourne based
Stockholm Syndrome and NYC's Andi. First up from Curses is his Revamp of
Deborah Sasson's (Carmen) Danger In Her Eyes, a curio from the wildly
inventive mid late 80s that saw the American opera singer collaborate with
German producers MCL (MicroChipLeague). A European chart topper on its
original release, it's long since languished in obscurity but in Curses'
hands is now ready to once again add more than a touch of melodrama to
dancefloors. For his second edit, Curses reworks J.W.B. Hits The Beat's House
Fatale, having previously taken a razor to their Body On Body track on Next
Wave Acid Punx DEUX. Originally released in 1988, House Fatale is a classic
example of just how fast electronic music was evolving back then, bringing
together elementsof Electro, Freestyle, House and more amongst a riot of
samples, all elements Curses retains whilst nudging the tempo and giving the
track a harder edge. Sticking with the same Westside label that gave us House
Fatale, Stockholm Syndrome turns his attention to Voyou's Houseman. Or, as it
happens, the 1988 edit by LA's Razormaid that first honed its edges for club
play and merged the title track with its b-side. The resulting edit
rejuvenates this classic slice of late Cold War club music, its pounding
beat, portentous strings and the repeated overdriven vocal refrain of Germany
Calling perfect for basement clubs today, in Berlin and beyond. Finally to
complete the EP we have sample-heavy 1988 cut Not Leaving Without Jerry by
Belgian duo Marc Borgions & Jo Lijnen aka Philadelphia Five. Originally
produced by Luc Van Acker, (better known for his work with the likes of Front
242, Ministry and Revolting Cocks), the track has been handed over to NYC
producer Andi, who ups the tempo and hones in on the rhythm section, putting
the focus on the staccato drums and throbbing bass line the focal point now
and creating a perfect soundtrack for sweat lashed bodies. Together these
four tracks revisit a moment in clubland when the rules were still being
written, as Curses explains. "This was a pivotal moment where all genres
were still evolving, figuring out what sounds would eventually become staple
elements of one another which gave it all this naive, innocent and punk feel.
You've got Trance arpeggios, those heavy snares of early EBM, chopped vocals
in the style of Chicago and NY formative House music all mixed with
Electrofunk and percussive Latin freestyle grooves. A time when we were
dancing without boundaries, something very much in the spirit of Next Wave
Acid Punx." |

"Vengeance
Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash," composed by Dave Lumenta, plays a crucial
role in setting the film's tone and enhancing its narrative. The soundtrack
blends traditional Indonesian musical elements with modern influences,
reflecting the film's unique storytelling style and cultural context. The
award-winning film Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash (2021) is romantic
drama set in a working-class neighbourhood of Indonesia’s West Java. Although
the story was set in the 1980s, the film’s music director Dave Lumenta
doesn’t really want to use music from that period. He doesn’t want to
automatically go with dangdut, the musical genre, a mix of Malay, Indian and
modern pop music, the music of choice for majority Indonesia’s working class.
He simply doesn’t want the film to be stuck in the time setting and the
social class. The scoring is richer, not only was it inspired by dangdut, but
it was also inspired by rock as well. In order for his imagination to be free
of that time and social context, he decides to make music that was based on
the characters, otherwise known as leitmotif. Lumenta is interested in
vulnerability, because it is something that the audience can find in the main
character Ajo Kawir, an impotent who is unable to have an erection. Another
main character Iteung is someone who is very liberal in terms of her
sexuality, but she also struggles with an issue as well, which is their
issues, a traumatic past. The film successfully portrays the clash of these
two characters. And from identifying these two characters, the composer
creates a melody or leitmotif that represents each character. The use of
analogue instruments is also consistent with the film’s spirit, which is also
shot using analogue camera. Lumenta created the music using acoustic
instruments, such as the recorder, along with other sounds from an analogue
synthesizer. The sound produced may not be perfect, just like the are grainy
quality of an analogue film, due to limitation of the medium. But it is precisely
due to that limitation that the eyes and ears are compelled to watch and
listen actively; we must squint to catch something more perfect, or listen
closely to filter out imperfections in the sound. Consuming art created with
analogue tools requires a different method of listening, watching, and
working process |

Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Chromium Industries,
a double LP (MNQ 162) capturing the innovative spirit of two pioneers of
electronic music: Andrew Lagowski and Paul (Howie D) Howard. This
long-anticipated album marks a return to the seminal sounds of the Chromium
Industries label, which emerged as a crucial platform for boundary-pushing
techno and electronic music in the early 1990s. Andrew Lagowski, a name
synonymous with exploration in electronic music, has been at the forefront of
sound innovation since the early 1980s. Known for his work under various
aliases, including Lagowski, Legion, and S.E.T.I., his early output in
experimental and industrial sounds paved the way for his later techno-focused
ventures. Albums like Knowledge (S.E.T.I.) and Nadir (Lagowski) highlighted
his pioneering approach to unconventional sound sources and production
techniques. In the 1990s, his work with Chromium Industries brought him into
the techno spotlight, with a series of influential 12” singles that helped
shape the electronic music landscape. With over 60 albums and 10+ singles to
his name, Lagowski’s versatility and dedication have garnered him a loyal
following and lasting influence across genres. Paul Howard, aka Howie D,
brought his DIY ethos from the punk scene of the 1970s into electronic music.
As a founding member of The Frames and co-founder of the Brain Boosters and
Spacematic labels, Howard has consistently pushed boundaries. His early
forays into hip-hop saw him release the genre-pioneering jazz-rap track
Miller Light as Fission. The transition from punk and hip-hop to electronic
music was a natural one, culminating in his creation of Chromium Industries
after a fateful night hearing Lagowski’s Vermilion at a London party. The
label brought some of the most unique techno releases to the scene, with
tracks like Blue Anomaly causing near-riots on the dancefloor. Since then,
Howard’s work has evolved to include multiple aliases, including The Legend
That Is, Phase Collective, and Skulpture. Chromium Industries 2xLP will be
available for purchase from January 2025 through Mannequin Records and select
distributors. This is an essential release for collectors, DJs, and anyone
who reveres the legacy of 1990s techno and early rave |

Birmingham's Iron Fist Of The Sun. Burial Hex presents 2
"pre-industrial" conceptual compositions. Aside from one synth at
the end of the first track, this music was all made with acoustic sounds.
Intense Power Electronics, but without using amplification or electronically
generated sounds. Just like how many industrial artists have flirted with
depicting sounds and atmospheres from the first and second World Wars, these
pieces were composed imaging atmospheres closer to the American Civil War
era. IFOTS's 4 tracks were recorded at Crushing Obelisk, Birmingham, England.

Theodore
"Hound Dog" Taylor was born on April 12, 1917, in Natchez,
Mississippi. By day, he was a sharecropper; by night, he played the delta
jukes. In 1942, following a dangerous encounter with the Ku Klux Klan, he
high-tailed it out of the South to Chicago. There, he held a day job while
building his reputation as a musician, performing in South and West Side
blues clubs and on the streets. It wasn't until the late 50's that he became
a full-time musician, playing regularly at the Expressway Lounge. Taylor
developed a raw vocal style and blistering slide guitar technique, using a
cheap Teisco Del Rey guitar powered through a Sears Roebuck amplifier. He
also had a physical condition called polydactylism, which resulted in an
extra finger on each hand. Hound Dog Taylor first recorded in 1960 for Bea
and Baby Records, and again in 1962 for the Firma label. The resulting 45s
were his only releases during the 60's and these four tracks are included on
this record. As a bonus, we have added two tracks by Mississippi-born,
long-time blues veteran Homesick James, who, after recording several 45s in
the early 50's, didn't get another single released until 1962. Both numbers
feature Taylor on guitar. He died in December 1975, after releasing four albums
on the Alligator label, leaving us his own epitaph: 'When I die, they'll say,
'He couldn't play shit, but he sure made it sound good!'. Strictly limited
