Live At De Melkweg. Amsterdam.
Dec 12Th 1979 - Fm Broadcast. The Cure's live performance at De Melkweg in
Amsterdam on December 12th, 1979, was a pivotal moment in the band's early
career. This concert marked a significant step in solidifying their reputation
as one of the most innovative and influential bands emerging from the
post/punk scene. With their distinct blend of moody atmospheres, haunting
melodies, and Robert Smith's mesmerizing vocals, The Cure captivated the
audience, delivering a raw and electrifying performance |

La banda de rock Negativo se
formó en San Sebastián alrededor de 1978. Se puede considerar la primera
banda de punk del País Vasco, junto a bandas vascas como Escombro
(Portugalete), Asco (Donostia), Zarama (Barakaldo), Basura (Renteria) y MCD
(Bilbao).

Another early standout release
from Speedy J's vast catalog. The follow up for the 'Rise EP', also
originally released on Plus 8 Records in 1991, with the apt named title track
'Evolution'. Jochem's style of producing music was evolving while still influenced
by all the music arriving in the Rotterdam import record stores. The US, UK
or Belgium didn't matter, good music was the key... but this was definitely
one of the pre-cursors to his first albums |

COD3
QR cries "Give Me Four!" for their first vinyl-only release of
2025. Label helmsman, Laurent Garnier delivers the first cut, setting the
standard for "[QR]V.052.GMF.25".
"Back Where I Belong (Solaris Mix)" is a monumental
builder. Laurent once again brings his
musical storytelling with layers upon layers of sound and melody alongside
infectious beats. Berlin resident and Survival Tactics label head, Tal
Fussman is known for creating music that works in many settings and
transcends genres. Fast becoming a
COD3 QR regular having previously provided the deep "10247" for
COD3 QR 016 and epic "If I Can" for "[QR]D.158.DWM.24".
This time he returns with the upbeat "Waiting" and a heavy nod to
retro soulful House. Leading French producer Loloman creates music inspired
by his extensive experience on the dancefloor alongside the roots of Detroit
techno and Chicago house. On
November's "[QR]D.320.MFS.24" he gave us "The Wall" which
has now been masterfully reworked by Garnier. Benny Rodrigues a.k.a. ROD
unveils his new moniker, The Lost Souldancer.
In his own words, Benny says: "The Lost Souldancer is about
coping with the loss of what once was.
Finding comfort in the invisible rather than what can be seen. Disconnect to connect in order to be loved
rather than liked." "No More
Voices" brings that feeling alive as a perfect closer to this
soul-stirring EP |

Legendary
Japanese rock outfit Les Rallizes Denudes were formed in 1967 and incredibly
for a group that had only one official release (Oz Days Live, a double vinyl
compilation release in 1973), played their last gig almost 30 years later in
October 1996. The bands name apparently means "fucked up and naked"
which more than adequately describes their music. Formed by band leader
Mizutani Takashi, the music remained remarkably familiar over the years, and
is best described as high volume, raw lo-fi repetitive feedback-drenched
guitar noise fests with nods in the direction of the Velvet Underground and
Blues Creation but without the electronics. Radical left wing politics was
never far from the bands agenda, with one original band member (Wakabayashi)
being involved in the Japanese Red Armys highjacking of a flight to North
Korea.. Consequently, the groups live appearances became less frequent and
increasingly clandestine. All the bands albums were released in very small
quantities and because of the groups reputation for secrecy and violence, as
well as the difficulty in tracking down their recordings, Les Rallizes
Denudes has assumed almost mythical status |

5 song banger that packs a punch
and travels at 100 mph, slowing down just enough to be able to attack you
again with a new barrage. Musically, this would be down the alley for fans of
Minor Threat, Stalag 13, Zero Boys, Circle Jerks,... It's fast but melodic,
well written and even better played. This truly is a mid 80s US hardcore
classic! |

Released shortly after Wonder
completed his 1972 tour with the Rolling Stones, and peaking at 3 in the US,
it is the second release in what is widely regarded as his classic period, a
period in which Wonder broke completely with the Motown sound and philosophy.
Despite the strong initial disapproval of label execs, Wonder forged ahead
and was rewarded with phenomenal success, forcing Motown to grant him
complete artistic freedom over his work and proving to the music industry
that R&B artists could find widespread appeal with rock audiences.
Featuring 1 pop and R&B hit, 'Superstition' |

From
the ashes of Melange rose Esperanto. In 2020, Melange ended their short but
intense and successful career. The void that remained was filled by the
creative process of three former members of the band: Dani Fernandez and the
Ceballos brothers, Serio and Adrean. Esperanto emerged from stolen moments
between Maika Makovski and Mohama Saz, the latter from which Javier Alonso
was recruited. "Tiempos de Vencer, is an absolute must have and has
arrived at the perfect moment. During these extraordinarily toxic times, the
arrival of this record is a crucial injection of high caliber, unprecedented
music. Music that transports you from Chicago Free-Jazz to Berlin's Kraut
Rock stopping off in Canterbury along the way. Its essence is perceived in
every beat, a feeling that comes from times past, from hard work, from the
soul. These songs envelope and adorn you with eastern arrangements, they help
you find victory, they propel you forward, and they are here to stay.
Esperanto has just arrived but, did you not notice that it was already here?
These musicians have joined together to create a record that embraces you
with a compilation of songs that are more necessary than ever. Esperanto
derives from long gone Spanish cult bands like: Melange, from Luger and from
Novak, meanwhile shares its journey with Mohama Saz and many other musical
projects. But this is it, this is ESPERANTO. Don't be late, keep the faith,
there is hope!!" Miguel Portela "Sonosphere" |

For the first time on vinyl, a
great Australian High Energy classic from Brother Brick, led by Stew

same level as other classics such as Bored!, Asteroid B612, New Christs. A
gem of OZ rock. Originally only available on CD, A Portable Altamont is a
high-energy masterpiece of Australian rock, packed with blistering guitars
and melodies that have been screaming to be heard on the rich, warm tones of
vinyl. This remastered edition brings new life to tracks that defined a
generation of raw, unapologetic rock. If you're a fan of loud guitars,
powerful melodies, and pure rock'n'roll attitude, this is the vinyl you've

From the ashes of Linköping's
pioneering punk band, Tings of London, IQ 55 emerged onto the scene in 1978.
Their compelling performances quickly made them the most sought-after band in
their hometown. In 1979, IQ 55 recorded their first and only single, "Livet
Är En Bluff (Balladen) / Bara Svårigheter," in Gothenburg. Following
their contribution to the compilation album Arnes Korvbar and numerous
attempts to attract record labels, the band disbanded in October 1983. Now,
for the first time, the full-length album "Livet Är En Bluff"
containing IQ 55's timeless, original, and raw sound is here |

and the shoegazey dream-pop that they've been leaning into since their debut
single, 2017's "English Girls" |

"Que no cunda el orden"
comprises the first demos recorded by this iconic Spanish punk band in
January 1982, seven original songs and two versions that would also become
the band's live repertoire in their early years. Among these songs we find
the only studio version of 'Emilio Cao' and the previously unreleased 'No me
gusta bailar'. The sound of the original tape has been mixed and mastered for
this very special edition. |

300 copies on snowy white vinyl! At long last! Finally on vinyl! Can Fifteen
Great Christmas Songs be collected together on one lovely 12-inch vinyl disc
featuring bands and artists from the Damaged Goods archives_ ...you betcha
bottom dollar they can! Each song has been recorded with the Christmas spirit
in full flow and we'd guess the odd mince pie was consumed along the way as
well. The full-on Christmas feeling that is flowing through these wonderful
tracks is a joy to behold and we implore you to not just read these sleeve
notes but to go crimble-crumble-crazy and actually buy this record and
treasure it, not only this year but for many years to come. We are very proud
to have put this album together as Christmas is our favourite time of the
year. We love the feeling at special Christmas gigs - the overinflated people
and prices of things and the way everyone just has to go out and drink as
much as they possibly can in the name of the good old lord Jesus. We did this
for you, and only for you because we really, really care and want to share
the joy that only Damaged Goods Records can bring you at this special time of
the year. So enjoy some great music from the likes of Will Billy Childish,
Miss Holly Golightly, Helen Love, Goldblade & Poly Styrene, The Courettes
and so many more and remember, this LP is not just for Christmas it-s for
LIFE! |

Now universally recognized as one
the great ambassadors of House Music around the globe, Todd Edwards first
built his reputation in the early 90’s with a string of 12" releases
from some of New York’s more prominent independent labels. This was an era
when on any given week you would have up to 100 new 12" releases from
New York based producers, all vying for space on the 12" shop walls. In
this hypercompetitive environment it was not easy for a new producer to
garner a reputation. But Todd’s releases did not sound like anything else.
Using an innovative blend of rhythmic, cut-and-paste vocal samples, rubbery
basslines, and slapping percussion, he created a 4 track EP for Nervous in
1994 under the production acronym The Sample Choir. This 12" created
such a massive buzz in the UK that it is now considered instrumental in
helping to propel Britain’s Sunday clubscene into the genuine cultural
phenomenon of speed garage |

Berlin
based producer CONCEPTUAL is back home after his Not an easy one Ep, again
providing his own vision on techno, full of sonic landscapes, detail and
intelligence. Release starts with Approach slowly a brief atmospheric intro
that sets the pace for what comes next in Il silenzio degli innocenti
introducing the rhythmic pulse from the first bar with almost all elements
into he equation, this is a minimalistic tool where percussive elements
evolve in a subtle manner all over the arrangement. No more excuses continues
in the mood, adding more spice to the formula with reverberated details,
growing mental sequences and the usual complex groove. Intense and mental all
in one. Sand fury follows, with atmospheres colliding with rugged components,
evolving all together in a progressive arrangement, a superb tool to enhance
your mixes properly. Miles per hour introduces you into another sonic realm,
using elastic synth lines, a wise reverb work and a sensation of infinite
space combined with floor intensity. Again a proper intelligent missile for
the adequate dancefloors out there. Simone Scardino is one of those few
creators that always pushes his sound one step further and we are super proud
to have him onboard again |

Legendary Irish producer o.utlier
puts forth a mind-bending array of leftfield techno in its purest state for
his Animalia EP, Biome. Known for otherworldly soundscaping that threads
through his productions, live-act and DJ sets, o.utlier's expansive style
draws on motifs like atmospheric drone, atypical percussion and mesmerising
field recordings. He continues hypnotising with Biome - from the glimmers of
acid and kicks in 'Lonic' to the winding brood of 'Crop Rotation'. Deep and
evocative, this release epitomises what I've long admired about o.utlier's
work - a level of craft guaranteed to blow and broaden the sonic imagination |

After
Dull Boy Johnny's previous release, a double EP with a tropical A-side and an
erotic B-side, this time the three gentlemen are out on the dance floor.
After all, the neighbours decided as much. Unlike the recordings of their
previous work that took place abroad, this time they stayed in a steamy attic
room in Belgium, where guitarist and producer Jan built a studio. Unable to
record at night because of neighbours who did not (yet) appreciate Dull Boy
Johnny's music, they dove into Antwerp's nightlife. The group's previous work
took you on a cinematic journey where every musical nuance takes you to a
specific setting. Be it an erotic seventies scene, a beach party in the
Bahamas, or a blood-curdling chase in the Wild West, Dull Boy Johnny covers it
all. Nard Houdmeyers, Rik De Bal and Jan found each other in a shared
interest in film genres such as blaxploitation, neo-noir and spaghetti
westerns. And therefore also the artists inherent to these genres such as
Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield and Ennio Morricone. Dull Boy Johnny's
conceptual approach to music can be traced back to this passion for cinema.
For the new EP, however, they traded that cosy movie-watching for turbulent
nightlife (the angry neighbours, you know). Besides, it was about time to get
their inspiration in the flesh. Dull Boy Johnny immersed himself in the
pulses, flashes and swell of downtown Antwerp. Thunder chasing crept under
their skin and then into their guitars. In grandfatherly fashion, they then
turned to composing, first with just bass, guitar and vocals. In that small
lineup and with the sounds of the night still reverberating in their minds,
the first pieces of the puzzle were laid out. After that, the sound was
opened up and a solid rhythm boost was added. This defined the catchy,
up-tempo nature of the upcoming EP that centres on themes of dancing,
flirting and partying. Expect rousing riffs, catchy hooks and swinging
rhythms. Details were meticulously laid out and bricked into the songs with
delicate grouting. The fine polishing of the songs was done with patient
finesse and a constant attitude to serve the song. With songs like Suspicion,
She Can Groove and Dynamite, it is immediately clear that the gentlemen got
their mustard from the club: action, party and spunk! All without losing
their typical sensuality. Despite the different working methods for the third
EP, there are a lot of recurring elements that define Johnny's fresh sound.
The essence? Catchy high vocals contrasted with a sensual baritone voice, carried
by a groovy bass and rhythm section. Around it, the details that give the
songs the right atmosphere swirl. Dull Boy Johnny's music prefers to function
as a soundtrack to your own imagination. As you listen, you are invited to
wander through the various landscapes of their musical world, regularly
giving a nod to the more lustful side of your brain. The songs have already
been praised for their compelling melodies and irresistible energy. With this
release, Dull Boy Johnny proves their ability to create timeless music that
both touches the soul and moves the body. So surrender to Dull Boy Johnny's
punchy grooves and dance the night away. Long live the neighbours! |

After
4 years, Blenk is back on Enemy with another incredible EP. “Breaking the
Loop” is 5 tracks of Blenk’s signature hypnogrooves that will easily
compliment each part of the night. This EP kicks off the 20th year
anniversary of Enemy Records. Over the course of 2025, expect a handful of
new releases and represses from our most indemand records! “Lost” is the EP’s
warm, ambient kick off. It perfectly sets the tone for starting up or
finishing off a set at any time. We all need intros, so…here ya go. “Outline”
is a monstrous track that has been hammered regularly by a few of our select
friends. It’s as funky as it is punchy. We could write more words, but who
cares…it’s the big one. “Silo” is the tracky roller of the EP. This one is
for the “Just the grooves please, I’ll take it from here” type of DJs. “FM9”
is for Interstellar travelers, or at least for the people who took enough
acid to think they are. If you’re into ‘wormhole techno,’ this is one is
right up your quadrant. “Dissociative” does exactly what the title says.
While it has those A side qualities, it’s the perfect introspective wrap up
for the infamous B2 spot. Early support from Luke Slater, Kr!z, Truncate and
Rødhåd. After 4 years, Blenk is back on Enemy with another incredible EP |

Louie
Vega remixes the seminal Sam Records Disco hit “Bourgie’, Bourgie’” by John
Davis & The Monster Orchestra. House Music legend Louie Vega continues to
light fire to select tracks from the Sam Records 1970’s Disco Catalogue. He
previously remixed Vicky D’s “This Beat Is Mine” and Convertion’s “Let’s Do
It.” Now he has added his unique and legendary production skills to a remix
of the Ashford & Simpon penned “Bourgie’, Bourgie’” by John Davis &
The Monster Orchestra. Originally released on Sam Records in 1979, “Bourgie’,
Bourgie’” also features background vocals by Ashford & Simpson. Louie
Vega continues to be one of the most dynamic and respected dance music
producers in the world. With a body of work that combines his timeless and trend-settings
production with Kenny Dope as Masters At Work, and his own distinctive and
equally impactful Louie Vega productions, he has always had a great knowledge
and respect for the R&B and Disco music that laid the foundation of the
current soundtrack of nightlife. The Sam Records catalogue is owned and
administered by Nervous Records, with which Louie has a long history, dating
to his creation with Kenny Dope of the label’s signature tune, The Nervous
Track by Nuyorican Soul. The distinctive string sections of “Bourgie’,
Bourgie’” along with the Ashford & Simpson lyrics caught Louie’s ear, and
he has created a remix that has been destroying dancefloors and festival
summer |

Vibes
Addikt kicks off 2025 with an explosive first release: the new single from
Samuel Sanders, "One D". A track that pays tribute to the sounds of
90s raves while infusing a resolutely modern and impactful energy. Samuel
Sanders, known for his incisive productions and contributions to prestigious
labels like Ghoststyle, Invasion, and Kevlar, makes his grand return with a
track that hits hard. "One D" draws direct inspiration from the
old-school rave vibes, featuring deep basslines, acid synths, and a hypnotic
atmosphere that sweeps the listener into an energetic, danceable spiral. As a
bonus, N.O.B.A. offers a remix that completely reinvents the track,
amplifying its immersive and impactful dimension, perfect for energizing the
most intense sets. His remix enhances the hypnotic aspect of "One
D", while adding the brutal and modern touch that is N.O.B.A.'s
signature. The EP continues with "Azekor" (B2), a track that will
literally take over the dancefloors. Designed for the peak moments of a
night, "Azekor" is a hypnotic techno track with an unrelenting
groove, ideal for those high-energy club moments. With this first release on
Vibes Addikt, Samuel Sanders makes a bold entrance into 2025. "One D"
and "Azekor" are must-hear tracks, true anthems for fans of raw,
hypnotic techno capable of taking over the dancefloors. Early support from
Dave Davis, Youri Parker, Furax, DJ HS, Franky Kloeck, Tom Leclercq... |

Including
the album on CD version. The son of a Belgian missionary sent to Japan in the
seventies and a Japanese peace activist, pianist and composer Alex Koo
refuses to be boxed into any traditional category. As the renowned German
Jazzthetik magazine put it, "Alex Koo defies categorization." With
ten uniquely personal tracks, Blame It on My Chromosomes is more than a
musical statement; it is a form of self-therapy. "The only way not to
spiral into depression as a jazz musician nowadays is to vent and lose
yourself in the music," Koo shares. "Music needs a purpose beyond
self-promotion. For me, it's about accepting who I am and letting go of
anything else." Featuring celebrated trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire on two
tracks, Blame It on My Chromosomes highlights Koo's fearless versatility. One
of these tracks, "Jonass," is dedicated to Koo's childhood friend
who tragically passed away, adding a deeply personal layer to the album.
"When we were kids, we would skate and do stupid things with shopping
carts, inspired by Jackass," Koo recalls. "That's why we called
Jonas 'Jonass'-he had the biggest smile you could imagine, his laugh was
contagious, yet he also was the most reckless one among us." Koo,
praised as "stunningly original" (Downbeat Jazz Magazine), is known
for creating music that transcends genre boundaries, blending jazz, indie,
contemporary classical and film music with innovative freedom. A native of
rural West-Flanders, Belgium, he began his musical journey as a classical
piano prodigy at the age of five. In his teens, he developed a passion for
jazz and improvisation, earning praise from jazz legends such as Kurt Elling,
Kenny Werner, and Brad Mehldau. Koo has even been described as "of the
same rare high level as Keith Jarrett" (Trouw). His 2019 album,
Appleblueseagreen, featuring Mark Turner and Ralph Alessi, was included in
Downbeat's Best Albums of the Year. Alongside Koo, Blame It on My Chromosomes
features his longstanding trio, whose fearless interplay brings the album's
narrative to life. The trio, with Koo on piano, Dré Pallemaerts on drums, and
Lennart Heyndels on bass, represents the very best of the Belgian jazz scene.
Their intuitive chemistry and artistry are the driving force behind the
album's emotive power, with special guest Ambrose Akinmusire adding a
transcendent layer on two standout tracks |

Chapeau
Music presents its second vinyl release, this time by Resonances (IT).
"Signal" is a record that connects diverse shades of electronic
music: from jazzy undertones to industrial techno, from punchy and intricate
rhythms to straight and clean grooves. It's a collection of tracks that
showcases the vision of the "man behind the Octatrack". The title
track "Signal" develops naturally, immersing the listener in its
dynamic layers of piano stabs and synth elements with a fast-paced groove.
The subtle distortion of the rhythmic elements injects raw energy without
compromising the track's underlying elegance. It reimagines the genre's
darker roots, offering a bold and innovative perspective. Gene Richards Jr's
remix of Signal intensifies the journey, delivering a high-impact,
hard-groove edge that perfectly complements the EP. "Please"
concludes the A-side with a pulsating rhythm and a cadence that keeps the
dancefloor in motion. Its energetic progression completes the A-side with an
undeniable dancefloor weapon. The flip side begins with
"Randomizer", an exploration of atmospheric and industrial
textures. The track builds around a solid kick drum and spatial synths, with
scattered elements orbiting like satellites to create an extraterrestrial
experience. To close, "The Stand" merges classic influences with
melodic, Detroit-inspired elements. Wide, reverberated synths fill the space,
crafting a fusion of rhythm and melodies to deliver a standout closing track
that feels timeless |

As
part of maintaining The Black Dog's back catalogue, Dust Science has now
re-issued the 2010 album, "Further Vexations". It's a real
successor to Radio Scarecrow, moving forward with the dark tone and concepts.
Further Vexations picks up from what was started in Radio Scarecrow, moving
beyond the world of open secrets and the bemusing transmissions of number
stations, to exploring the dark cynicism of Orwellian practices carried out
by our Govern- ments, institutions and corporations. Martin Dust from tBd
explained, “Our main concern was and still is the amount of personal freedoms
being surrendered under the banner of "for your own safety" – CCTV,
Biometrics and the World Wide Databases being the latest inventions to save
us from ourselves. What is it going to take for people to wake up? How much
further can the people that we’ve put into power go before something finally
snaps? We've had enough now! We believe that people have become lazy and
accepting of "beige" political parties who have realised if they
stand for nothing, people will fall for anything.” 10 years on, the
references to George Orwell's 1984 appear to be a little naive and wholly
inadequate. From billion-dollar corporate entities openly mishandling our
data for profit to highly-targeted and manipulative political propaganda
campaigns, the misuse of our data and communications is far more
sophisticated and devious than originally envisaged. The stark omens of
Further Vexations are now more prophetic than ever |

At
long last, Q Lazzarus says hello to Dark Entries. Q Lazzarus is the moniker
of Diane Luckey, born in New Jersey in 1960. While living in the East Village
in New York City in the 1980s, Diane met songwriter Bill Garvey at a party
and they recorded “Goodbye Horses” in his home studio. As the story goes,
Luckey met Hollywood director Jonathan Demme when she picked him up in her
taxi during a snowstorm in 1986. Demme was wowed by her demo tape, which was
playing in the cab, and they ended up hanging out at a restaurant for hours
talking about life and music. “He liked it so much, I gave him the tape I was
listening to, he said he would call me for one of his movies, but I didn’t
really take it seriously.” said Luckey. Demme would have the song “Goodbye Horses”
first appear in his offbeat comedy Married to the Mob, and then again more
memorably in Silence of the Lambs when Buffalo Bill changes into women’s
clothing while drowning out his intended victim’s pleas with loud music.
Despite the exposure, both Luckey and Garvey languished in relative
obscurity. “Goodbye Horses” is the definition of a cult classic, an ethereal
tearjerker driven by Garvey’s lush synth work and Luckey’s unmistakably
powerful voice. Garvey says, "the song is about transcendence over those
who see the world as only earthly and finite." Over 15 years of effort
have gone into the making of this release. All five songs on this record were
previously unreleased and are sourced from original master tapes. The
extended version of “Goodbye Horses” was newly mixed from the original stems
by Alberto Hernandez at Fantasy Studios. Instrumental and acapella versions
of the song are included, which are also available for the first time. Side B
opens with “Hellfire,” a brooding number about the New York BDSM nightclub of
the same name, showcasing the range and force of Luckey’s voice. “Summertime”
follows, with a sauntering synth-reggae spin on the 1937 George Gershwin
number. Both B-side tracks are also new mixdowns and edits from the original
stems. This record is released alongside Eva Aridjis Fuentes’s documentary on
Q Lazzarus, Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus, a work chronicling
the life of the enigmatic Luckey. It is an opportune moment to reflect on the
underrecognized artists we have lost and the undeniable brilliance of both
Diane Luckey and William Garvey |

Fenglers IMF label kicks off 2025 by unifying different generations on The
Past Voices EP. It arrives on 7th February and features much-anticipated
debut tracks from Tarkno alongside fellow new school talent The Sixth Sense
who also goes solo on the flip while veteran Stigmata remixes. Germany-based,
Australia-born Tarkno is as authentic as techno gets. His vinyl-only sets
across several turntables have lit up the worlds best clubs while his
production journey begins here and shows his sounds are pure, machine-driven
and forward-facing. Here he works with The Sixth Sense who is at the heart of
the Berlin techno scene with his seamless blends of nostalgia and futurism
coming on this label as well as Abstraction and his own Akashic Records.
First up the pair offer the muscular bounce of Past Voices with rattling
percussive grooves, dusty drums and tunnelling synths that drive on with
inescapable force. Watch Out is another expert blend of funky loops, ticking
hi-hats and trippy synth details and the banging Outsider is a thrilling and
physical sound with expert filters teasing out tension. Remixer Andre Walter
aka Stigmata has helped to define the techno underground since the 90s with
several different projects on serious labels like Modular Source and Mutual
Rytm. Here he flips Outsider into a dense techno blizzard with pulsing synths
and hammering kicks topped with urgent sirens. Finally, The Sixth Sense then
goes it alone on the unrelenting drum funk of MK-Ultra while the final cut
Plato is a wall of textured loop techno that will leave any floor locked-in
and marching on. The Past Voices EP is a timeless testament to the power of
pure, unadulterated techno brilliance |

Mannequin
Records proudly presents the debut release from Children Of The Night, a
dynamic duo whose music is rooted in cinematic soundscapes. The project
brings together Mexican techno producer Alejandro Barba, also known as
Dellarge, and French documentary/film producer Pierre Labret, forging a
distinctive creative partnership. Their collaboration masterfully combines
dark, atmospheric elements with driving electronic rhythms, drawing heavily
from the worlds of classic horror and psychological thrillers. The result is
a collection of soundscapes that are as eerie as they are captivating,
creating an immersive and haunting listening experience. This album stands as
an unconventional horror soundtrack for a film that never came to be—a
tribute to the legendary Spanish filmmaker Jess Franco, known for his
prolific work in the exploitation and horror genres. Born out of the quiet
chaos of the pandemic, this project was originally intended to accompany a
slasher film that was halted due to financial constraints. Despite the film’s
cancellation, the duo pressed forward, turning the unfinished narrative into
an imaginative auditory experience. The soundtrack will serve not only as a
homage to Franco but also as a nod to Juan Mendez, better known by his alias
Silent Servant, whose dark, minimalist electronic productions have left a
deep mark on the underground music scene. Dellarge and Labret’s creative
process is shaped by an eclectic array of inspirations, pulling from both
literature and cinema. They’ve cited films such as Franco’s
"Paroxismus," "Gritos," and "Faceless" as vital
to their sonic direction, as well as the eerie black-and-white imagery of
F.W. Murnau's "Nosferatu." Additionally, the duo draws on the
disturbing psychological tension of Stephen King’s "Carrie" and
"Misery," and the surreal dystopian world of Stanislaw Lem's
"Congreso de Futurología." The giallo horror aesthetics of Dario
Argento's "Deep Red" also serve as a significant influence, merging
surreal visuals with nerve-racking, visceral soundtracks—elements mirrored in
Dellarge and Labret's own compositions. The LP is not only rich with
atmospheric storytelling but also boasts a range of remarkable remixes by
prominent artists in the electronic music scene. Contributions from
Alessandro Adriani, David Carretta, Legowelt, and Broken English Club inject
new life into the original tracks, offering reinterpretations that span from
industrial techno to Italo disco, further enhancing the project’s depth and
versatility. Each remix complements the overarching horror theme while adding
a modern, avant-garde twist to the duo’s work. This debut album promises to
be more than just a musical release—it's a vivid exploration of the horror
genre through sound, creating a sensory experience that brings forgotten
films, unrealized visions, and nightmarish stories to life through music. As
the lines between fiction and reality blur, Dellarge and Labret invite listeners
into a world where the echoes of lost films can finally be heard |

Throughout
the 1980s, Michael Antener, born and raised in Bern, Switzerland, initiated
an array of sonic endeavours in the realm of industrial, dark, aggressive
music. Of his times as a post-apocalyptic hunter, he says today: I found a
musical niche where I could express myself, along with other people who were
not afraid of dark themes. It would have been hard to sing about love in my
music, so I included sounds and cries of pain taken from horror movies. It
was a fortunate coincidence to come across one of his self released records,
the 1986 EP Strangler of the Swamp, which marked the beginning of our quest
to find this all but forgotten musician whose work seemed nowhere to be
found. Eventually, we got in touch with Michael, who is still living in Bern,
and began the process of searching through all his surviving musical and
visual material. The triple vinyl release is all about documenting Michael
Anteners adventures during that intense 1980s period. We tried our best to
select the most interesting material from his two earliest projects, The
Strangler of the Swamp and Bande Berne Crematoire, comprising materials from
vinyl records, cassettes, and live recordings, some of it unreleased. The
release also includes a deep dive into Michaels visual archive of posters,
photos, and sleeve artworks. The disjointed, tumultuous body of work
presented here marks the testament of a fringe musician who was disruptive
and confrontational, keen to shock and alarm people (much to our liking), and
who could easily have been lost in oblivion |
