This is the original Breeders,
formed in Champaign, IL, in the early-eighties. They released a 7" EP
titled 'Zen Punk' and an eight song cassette titled 'Things Happen'. This is
a little hidden gem of Midwestern punk. Three songs, remastered for the
occasion. A side is an elaborate song between Punk Rock and No Wave, that
brings in mind bands like Gang of Four, Contortions, Wire,... On the flip
side, two miniatures on the verge of hardcore. Think early Husker Du, Minor
Threat and White Cross. Comes with the original artwork and a sticker! |

Can
Con, the debut album from the enigmatic Canadian collective The Psych Fi's,
set to release on December 6, 2024, via Bobo Integral. "You're traveling
through another dimension - a dimension not only of sight and sound but of
mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of
imagination". This iconic introduction is from Rod Serling's timeless
and influential television program, The Twilight Zone. Perhaps he would also
apply this description to Can Con, the debut album by The Psych Fi's. The
group is an offshoot of Canadian singer-songwriter Jerry Leger's rock'n'roll
side project, The Del Fi's. Just as The Psych Fi's describe themselves as
"spontaneous psychedelic rock", The Del Fi's recorded two albums
characterized by spontaneity, spirit, and trust. This time Leger brings his
songs to a revolving door of musicians and singers (18 members, including
Jerry, in the case of Can Con). Most of the performers have not heard these
compositions before recording them. They have no chance to second-guess: they

Décima Víctima were a Spanish
band that, during their short-lived career between 1981 and 1984, developed a
very personal sound reminiscent of Joy Division, The Cure and other British
post-punk bands. Despite commercial success evaded them, rarely has any
Spanish band achieved such a high degree of quality and coherence in their
music and personality. Although included in our past release MR 305 (2010) as
part of a limited edition boxset, this is the first time their second album
"Un Hombre Solo" (1984) gets an official reissue in its original
single LP format. For this edition, the sound of the original tape recordings
has been cleaned and improved and the artwork has been slightly modified
following the band's ideas |

One of the best kept secrets of
the Italian Hardcore scene. Manimal took shape in the mid-1980s, in the
tumultuous era of the roman underground uprising. They've been actually one
of the first hardcore band - with label mates High Circle - rising from the
ashes of the capital city punk scene. In 1985 they've been part of the
historical German pack altogether with Negazione and Indigesti, a tour that
made literally history ! In 1986 they recorded their sole self titled album.
The record saw the light on the legendary Contagio Records and was a furious
example of the contemporary attack to the system. Eleven tracks in total with
three of them previously appeared on 'Subject To Blackout', a cultish
American tape compilation (with early Offspring, Excel and Attitude
Adjustment). No compromise classic Italian Hardcore with fast guitar riffs,
elaborate bass lines and hard-hitting drums. A necessary rediscovery that
further delineates the greatness of the Italian scene in the early eighties |

Canada's
Andre Zimmer makes his SEVEN debut with his 'Wait a Minute' EP - a stellar
collection of faster, chuggy, pacey style of house gems. The EP's title track
is the first to slam, with a heavy-handed 909 kick blistering beneath a
chugging bassline. Taking influence from the Berlin house scene, it serves
one purpose: to galvanise dance floor energy. Parisian producer Vitess lands
a remix of 'Wait A Minute' with his '90s-focussed sound and penchant for
deep, minimal sounds being the pull. Lucious pads and electro synth lines
across the hip-hop influenced vocals bolster the track's impact. 'Ice Lolly'
came together at a friend's pad in Los Angeles, with a jam session grabbing
UKG and speed garage influences and infusing those with a distinct '90s tech
house vibe. For its '90s influences, 'Round Two' finds its muse in a classic
rave organ, while other elements that evoke a sense of the heady warehouse
parties from that era include sampled vinyl scratches, breakbeats, and chunky
bass from his Yamaha DX200 vintage synth |

Aphelion
Recordings marks its 30th anniversary with the release of a long-awaited EP
featuring the iconic track Arrest and remixes by techno legends. Zugzwang's
debut EP was released in 1995 on their own Aphelion Recordings, sounding like
an instant classic. Four tracks of fully formed ambient techno: deep,
immersive and richly textured. Despite being hitherto unknown, this music
held its own against the best of its peers: Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada,
etc. With original copies changing hands for over £250, it is today
recognised as an iconic, timeless piece of British electronica. The
heart-stoppingly beautiful Euphonic was recently included in arbiters of good
taste Ivan Smagghe and Ivan Ivkovic's IDMEMO compilation. Zugzwang, also
working under the aliases Aphelion and Replicant, went on to become
electronic cult heroes. They released on Worm Interface and Ambient Soho
Records and were featured on the celebrated ALT Frequencies compilation
alongside artists like Gescom and Autechre. They were on the cusp of signing
a deal with Jeff Mills Axis Recordings, and Tom Middleton once called the
family landline to wax lyrical about their work. Now, 30 years after APH001,
Aphelion Recordings is proud to announce APH003. This is both a vital
historical document and a forward-looking statement of intent. This new EP
revives the legendary Arrest track in its original form, sounding as timeless
as it did in 1995. Alongside the original mix, the EP features three killer

"The "Moderna Sonorizzazioni" series by Quattro Bambole Music
continues its investigation of the infinite expressive possibilities of
instrumental hip-hop, recognizing it as the most contemporary form of library
music. After the first two chapters - signed by Biga and JayBee Vibes - the
third volume of the series, "Sport & Calcio", features the
Roman producer Delphi for whom there was a lot of anticipation on the part of
both Italian and scattered beatmakers everywhere in Europe and the United
States. With the subtitle which is already a declaration of intent ''Tales of
a boy from Rome....'' etc. etc., "Sport & Calcio" is an instrumental
fresco in which football and sport become narrative pretexts to evoke images,
memories and suggestions. The twelve tracks that make up the album are real
cinematic sketches, in which Delphi (born Valerio Del Prete) combines raw
beats, nostalgic loops, sample-delia and a narrative that evokes family
Sundays, spent on the street as well as stadium, and the heat of the crowded
stands. Therefore a work that is musically declined based on moments and
emotions.. ''Sport & Calcio'' is therefore a deliberately introspective
and not very ''danceable'' work. Sound photographs, short descriptions,
themes, small fragments associated with television reports on sport... with
which the artist touches chords that allow him to express a different compositional
depth, a conceptual work, more descriptive and functional to the line of

Ahead of a full-length album
coming on Glitterbox Recordings, the king of disco re-edits Dr Packer
presents four of his versions of soulful dancefloor favourites old and new,
giving a flavour of what’s to come from the LP. ‘Different Strokes’ kicks off
with a re-rub of the MK-produced LaTrece ‘I Want To Thank You’, itself a
house cover of Alicia Myer’s soul classic from 1981. Dr Packer pulls back on
the tempo, making way for keyboards that echo the vocal melody and enhanced
percussion. Next, he remixes ‘Still In Love’ by Shuya Okino, a contemporary
nu-disco classic with gorgeous string instrumentation and a tight guitar
riff. In true Dr Packer style, his version has plenty of extra funk, fleshing
out the bassline to suit a dynamic disco set. A remix of ATFC’s ‘Bad Habit’
is next, again given the effortlessly laidback, groove-laden Dr Packer

figure in the 90's Frankfurt techno scene, releasing around 100 records under

his Leon De Winter alias that really caught the ears of legendary London
label Eukahouse, who originally releases this 12" all the way back in
1997. A one-off, it is not only unique in its sound design but also genre
defying, spanning deep house, tech-house, techno, electro and breaks. A-Side
'Apollo Jazz' is truly that, sounding like it was composed from a freeform
jam on a trip to the Moon. Opening with emotive chords, the track lifts off
and builds, melodies effortlessly twist and turn, superbly pulling together a
variety of well crafted synths, bass and percussion whilst keeping the energy
to the fore. Over to the B-Side, 'Metamat', is bold and more playful in its
execution, more sonic trickery abounds as the opening riffs and breakbeat
percussion give way to a solid 4/4. The bass is as memorable as it is quirky,
but again it's the strength in the way all the elements build and combine
that creates some real tripped-out musical moments without ever losing its
dance floor appeal. This is one of Tobias's most sought after releases and
it's no wonder his collaborative work with Ricardo Villalobos is legendary.
The tracks themselves have remained exciting and relevant, achieving cult
status amongst the most discerning DJs, record collectors and music heads

Glaskin
is the alias of two brothers, Jonathan and Ferdinand, based in Munich. The
pair have emerged as key figures in the citys electronic music scene as
longtime residents of the renowned Blitz Club, standing out a homegrown
talents amongst its vibrant electronic landscape. Bringing a unique,
forward-thinking techno style, as evidenced by their contributions to Mutual
Rytms Federation Of Rytm II and III compilations in previous years, they now
mark a new chapter and open 2025 in style with their debut 12 on the label,
Inertia Of Motion. Each cut on the EP has been handcrafted with analogue
gear, reflecting their distinctive artistic and sonic vision. The release is
a direct outcome of the creative process behind their live set, which has
become an integral part of the duos identity and shows a natural evolution of
their singular sound. Hush Up kicks things off with deep, rubbery and rolling
techno rhythms. The drums are stripped back and laced with pulsing synth
patterns and spoken word snippets that add a freaky edge. Double Tap ups the
anti with classic, pumping deep techno with smart filters adding movement to
the track as urgent leads hurry onwards. Inertia bring a more anxious
atmosphere with tightly coiled drums and perc and eerie bell sounds ring out
over the fat, twisted bassline. The brilliant Tank brings mind-melting loopy
techno with dubby chords and textured leads warming their way between the
beats to great effect, while Motion is suspenseful techno that locks you into
a high speed groove peppered with thumping hits and kicks. Last of all,
digital bonus Blushed Blue explores a moody, minimal, late night techno sound
that is warm, stylish and hypnotic to close the show |

Ireland-via-UK artist Dorbachov
releases the Ellesmere Street EP on his Scrap & Delete label 28th
February 2025. It kicks off with the title track Ellesmere Street, a
groove-laden roller with tripped-out plucks and dubby synths, expertly
remixed by 90s techno artist Invexis, who ups the energy and turns it into an
up-front, peak-time cut. On the flip, Dorbachovs Just Bump is a proper
old-school Techno track, complete with classic hardcore-influenced rave stabs
and pumping club rhythms that will keep the dancefloor moving. Bog Rat then
consists of moody sequences that ooze over hard-hitting drums, closing out
this late-night underground offering. Ellesmere Street is a nod to the past,
but with a firm eye on the future. Its about capturing that raw energy and
spirit of the rave scene, where the music did the talking. Its a reminder of
