Damian
Lazarus and Jem Cooke reunite on Crosstown Rebels for captivating new single,
‘Searchin’, featuring remixes from Radio Slave & bullet tooth. Crosstown
Rebels founder Damian Lazarus teams up with acclaimed singer/songwriter Jem
Cooke for their new single ‘Searchin’, set for release on 10th January 2025.
The track marks a continuation of their celebrated collaboration ‘Into The
Sun’, featured on Lazarus’ 2020 album ‘Flourish’, and serves as a highlight
from Lazarus’ latest long-player ‘Magikal’, which lands just two days
earlier. A vibrant and expressive journey, ‘Searchin’ delivers a warming
blend of swirling soundscapes and resonant basslines paired alongside Cooke’s
stunning vocal delivery, capturing the spirit of the pair’s combined artistry.
Marking bullet tooth’s return to Crosstown Rebels this new remix sees the
enigmatic talent return to his roots as he serves up a bass-heavy serving of
heavyweight UKG rhythms, building on the track’s vibrant, emotive energy with
a re?ned blend of intricate low-end rhythms that perfectly complement Cooke’s
captivating vocals. Om the flip and adding another layer of allure to the
release, Rekids label boss Radio Slave delivers a mesmerising Remox driven by
bright keys and shimmering melodies, returning to Crosstown Rebels with a
distinctive classy house touch! |

Forgotten Paradise is a new vinyl
series from Western Lore, focussed on exploring the full breakbeat hardcore
& Jungle Tekno tempo range through a collection of 12” singles & EPs.
After an under the radar, vinyl only bootleg 12” kicked off the series in
2024 (and flew out so rapidly on Bandcamp, none of the ltd run of copies made
it to retail), FP2 sees Dead Man’s Chest & Thugwidow roll out two gully
slices of 140bpm(ish) hardcore heaven, with a naughty 160 jungle edit thrown
in for measure. Breaks, vocals, bleeps, pads, pianos, mentasms and a hefty
measure of bass, all thrown in the mix and weaved together in Dead Man’s
Chest & Thugwidow’s signature waved out styles |

X-Coast
unveils 9-track 2xLP The Riviera Collection on his label Riviera Records. Hot
on the heels from remixing instant dance hits such as Shygirl's '4eva' and DJ
Gigola's 'La Batteria' and spotted in the studio with adored vocalists
Eartheater and Miss Bashful, Serbian-born, NYC-based DJ/producer X-Coast
returns with a collection of signature tracks that feel like the lost
treasure chest of his dance island. X-Coast is your favorite DJ's favorite
producer, whose tracks you’ve undoubtedly danced to, whether on a massive
festival stage or at an intimate, underground rave. Over the past decade, he
has quietly but consistently shaped the pulse of dancefloors worldwide, with
a distinctive style that traverses genres like house, techno, electro, drum
and bass, and trance. This rare versatility has led X-Coast to release on the
likes of Mall Grab’s Steel City Dance Discs, Diplo’s Higher Ground, Anetha’s
Mama Told Ya and DJ Haus’s Unknown To The Unknown, to name a few. What sets
X-Coast apart is not just his ability to move fluidly between styles but the
unique character embedded in every track. His productions have an undeniable
warmth and authenticity, often evoking the raw, euphoric spirit of the 90s
and 00s rave era. This nostalgic yet forward-thinking approach makes his
music feel timeless, effortlessly blending old-school rave energy with modern
production techniques. It's a quality that has made him a go-to for DJs
across the board, whether they’re playing peak-time techno sets or deep,
groovy house sessions. On The Riviera Collection, released on his own label,
Riviera Records, X-Coast opens the vault to reveal a diverse range of tracks
that showcase his deep connection to multiple eras of electronic music. This
collection reflects the breadth of his eclectic DJ sets, where various sounds
and styles converge into a cohesive journey. Each track feels like a
contemporary reimagining of a classic moment in dance music history. From the
early 2000s tribal influences layered with X-Coast’s signature chord work on
‘Neapolis,’ to the soaring, synthetic trance energy of ‘Desert Storm,’ and
the infectious, camp vibe of the diva house ‘Hold Me Baby,’ the collection
takes us on a nostalgic trip back to the origins of rave culture. It echoes a
time when DJs crafted a journey through genres, playing everything from house
to trance to techno in one seamless night. The collection’s first hidden gems
and long-awaited singles are “Da Boing Boing Trak” and "Put Your Hands
Together". Both staples in his sets at iconic venues and festivals like
Pitch Music & Arts, fabric, Circoloco, AVA Festival, Melt!, and
Intercell, this track has been in high demand among fans, finally seeing its
release. With The Riviera Collection, X-Coast continues to cement his status
as a versatile producer capable of bridging the gap between past and present,
while delivering music that moves crowds everywhere |

LeVent are Maryna Russo *bass(
Heike Rädeker *bass&vox( Frankie Neumeier *drums( .Formed in August 2015,
the band have shared the stage with a bunch of talents including Kadavar, The
Underground Youth, and Die Nerven, to name a few. They also self/released a
four track EP on cassette in 2016. This is their debut album. Like a drunken
driver, LeVent swerves up over the curb, drives straight through the garage
and total their ride somewhere out in a goat farm. Bleating at its most
danceable, they carry listeners far away to get lost in nice nonsense, stuck
in heavy forgetting, and transfixed on what was, leaving you thirsty for
more. Heike says "When someone comes up to you after a concert saying,
,I'm going to make you a record" you don't reckon it will happen...
"Half a year later Anton Newcombe called LeVent in to his Cobra Studio

gathered critical acclaim for its ability to forge a new dynamic in a genre

It
takes all of the first 80 seconds of Bristol trio Thought Forms second album,
Ghost Mountain, to realise that this is a group who have moved on
substantially from their debut of three years ago. Indeed, if their
self-titled debut in 2009 was about finding the dynamic limits of their
atmospheric sound, gently prodding and probing varying elements, then the
huge great slab of guitar that greets you instantly on their follow-up roars
with the confidence of a band whove found their level from which to fully
explore their creative expression. Though the group have fans in Portishead,
dont allow the link to act as any indication of their sound. The album veers
between two opposites, from brisk, scuzzy American garage-rock influenced
numbers to brutal, anguished noise constructions of ethereal doom, where it
feels like theyre tapping into a similar dark psyche to groups like Godspeed
You! Black Emperor and Circle. With a psych slant too informing tracks like
Afon and Burn Me Clean - where vocals are almost as though a ritualistic call
to on high - the scope of Ghost Mountains sonic terrain is vast, the result
of a varied approach to song writing where wholes form out of group jams or
from the chrysalis of an idea presented by just one of the trio. Its a clear
move away from their debut album, though retaining the groups penchant for
creating vast atmospheres |

TRAIDORA presents seven tracks of
stripped-down D-beat with a certain goth or deathrock quality. The record's
tone feels desperate and direct. The vocals echo and the guitars come with
maximal treble, like a 33 RPM recording of a chainsaw sped up to 45 RPM. The
drums are playing a one-two-one-two lurch, sounding like a pair of Docs clonk
clonk clonking down an empty hallway. Pissed off, angry primordial punk! |

Yes,
there is rock, but it's so deformed that not even no wave could help you make
sense out of it. Imagine if a bunch of viruses filled with fake news and
contemporary nastiness would go straight to the core of no wave, punk and
rock's integrity> authenticity. Not to say that the Butthole Surfers were
the most authentic band in the world or that this record matches the
production of El/P, but instead here you have some of the most exciting
musicians in Berlin coming together for the first time, interpreting some
lyrics from Mattin, dealing with our fucked up times and the search for
overcoming them. To say that there is no authenticity is not to fall into the
postmodern relativism that has been a debilitating force in the struggle
against the new wave of neo fascism. In fact, the latter also claim their own
authenticity> race realism. Nor surprisingly, authenticity was also at the
core of Heidegger, which somehow connects National Socialism and its French
deconstructionist critics. Even if this record for some might sound like
deconstructed rock through electronic noise and improv, it is also doing
something else like building a Frankenstein monster in the form of
rock/as/zombie/avatar> as if Lou Reed would haunt us from the other side
connecting the motherboards of our devices to our brains, giving us all
electroshocks for not being able to stop this fascism/as/the/new/punk regime,
while he shouts at us> they got the traction on danger and you need to
take it back! |

techno with a satirical and defiant critique of the Churchs values. Side A
opens with Soul Absorption, a track with a heavy low end, absorbing synths,
and an atmosphere that plunges you into a deep abyss. Next comes Haunted,
which takes the darkness further with a haunting, psychotic synth sequence
and a heart-rending bassline that keeps you on your toes. On the B-side,
Infectious delves into shadowy territory with a modulated synth line that
simulates something infectious and consuming. Finally, The Weight Of Guilt
closes the EP with the heaviest and most aggressive track. Thunderous
percussion and a crushing bassline capture the intensity and gravity
reflected in its title. Pure Devotion is a sonic journey designed for the
dancefloor, where the body moves to the beat while the mind ponders and
grapples with the ideas woven into each track |

After the memorable performance
at Mostra festival, the electronic music group Sonic Wave Collective aka SWC,
formed by the producers Absis, Cyklos and Spear, release their first vinyl
record for Arketip Discs. SWC introduce a new avant-garde voice to the
underground scene, weaving a mesmeric narrative that combines textures of
introspective and refined techno with a very personal style. This debut
features six cuts that reveal the trio's diversity of influences and sonic
sophistication. Forest on Stasys is a renowned Argentinian artist who not
only runs Aura Sonora, and is Co-Founder of Danza Nativa, but has released
music on Claudio PRC's 012, Harmony Rec, and Fur:ther Sessions amongst others |

Twenty-four
years on from its original release, Monolake's seminal Gravity receives its
first vinyl pressing courtesy of Field Records. Occupying its own space at
the intersection of dub techno, minimal and electronica, it's an ageless
album of staggering vision and technological prowess which has matured into
an all-time pillar of electronic music. This edition, remastered by the
album's key architect Robert Henke, follows on from the recent reissue of
Monolake's first album, Hongkong. Arriving just after the turn of the
millennium, Gravity marked a turning point for Monolake. With co-founder
Gerhard Behles moving on to other ventures, Henke produced most of the album
solo and journeyed deeper into spatial exploration and the dub-informed
principles that underpinned their project from the start. Minimalism and
negative space run through the whole record, from the keen slithers of
percussion pinging through lattices of delay to the hypnotising pulse of
subliminal basslines anchoring the tracks. Gravity is a record which hangs on
techno's linearity as a form of meditation, but the crystalline clarity of
the mix allows every micro-fluctuation in rhythm and sound to cut through.
Compared to a lot of overly sterile digital music released in the early 2000s,
Gravity endures thanks to the warmth and texture Henke elicited from his
processes — even when leaning into none-more-digital effects like bit
reduction. He described the ninth-floor view over Berlin from his studio at
night as a key influence on the sound of the record, but the space Gravity
shapes out feels thrillingly implacable. Unbound by the standard conventions
of time and space, Gravity stands proud as a true original and finally gets
the ceremonious vinyl pressing it so richly deserves |

Demonstrating
the poignant power of experience + human connection + innate musicality +
operating in the present moment, Jeff Mills' Spiral Deluxe collective unveil
their second album - The Love Pretender. Driven by the free expression and
creativity of improvised performance, Spiral Deluxe is an electronic jazz
fusion project comprised electronic music visionary Jeff, along with
legendary keyboardist Gerald Mitchell (Underground Resistance/ Los Hermanos),
Japanese rocker Yumiko Ohno (Buffalo Daughter/Cornelius) on Moog synthesizer
and the Japanese bassist, adopted New Yorker, Kenji "Jino" Hino -
son of Terumasa Hino, the world famous jazz trumpeter. Together, the four key
players formed a band centred around completely improvised journeys through
sound. During their unrestrained performances, what Jeff describes as sonic
"conversations" arose between the musicians, as they each
contributed to full-length live shows, and studio sessions. Within the
boundless parameters of freeform spontaneity, they developed an unspoken
understanding of one another, finding balance and poise within the unplanned
performances. The resulting recordings have been used for three releases so
far: Two EPs, Kobe Session (2016) and Tathata (2017), and their debut album
Voodoo Magic in 2018. With The Love Pretender, we're presented with another
stunning collection of "tracks" extracted from one long improv
session. With each musician proficient in their specialism and, of course, an
all-out music lover, the communication between the group members became
almost telepathic. Very little preparation was needed, and their performances
flowed naturally and organically. This can be heard, and felt, throughout The
Love Pretender. Tracks like 'The Soloist' evolve effortlessly, each new shift
subtly influenced by one of the musicians nudging the conversation into a
different phase, and the rest responding accordingly, or vice versa. It's
music that embodies the true nature of mindfulness and letting go of fear. In
their unstructured, liberated cocoon the artists thrive and create musical
moments that have, fortunately, been captured for us all to immerse ourselves
in. Jazzy notes fill the air, combined with electronic bass, synthesised
beats, sparkling keys and an all-round warm and welcoming atmosphere, with
the slight edge you can only get from improvised performance. Sylvain Luc's
posthumous appearance on the album is of significance too. The French
guitarist died in March 2024 at the age of 59. His natural flair adds another
dimension to the album, bringing a touch of that laid back 1980s American
California Coast feeling to tracks such as 'Society's Man'. These
contributions to the LP, recorded separately, add character - a final
sprinkling of humanity to complement the aliveness and presence of this body
of work. Three other musicians also added their creative energy to the
project. They were; TOKU, a Japanese jazz musician who specialises in wind
instruments, especially the cornet, trumpet and flugel horn. And there's Masa
Shimizu, who also has wide-ranging with the guitar, as well as being a
producer. Themes on the album include the optimism one can have by simply
trusting the process and trusting that everything will work out in the end. By
playing together in the way they do, Spiral Deluxe place their trust in the
mystery of what will happen next. Getting comfortable with not knowing is key
to a sense of peace with regard to the future and this energy is vital to
their collective musical output. By embracing the notion of the unknown, you
become an eternal optimist, living in the moment, rather than projecting into
the future. This cultivates excitement, an antidote to anxiety. Meanwhile,
the title alludes to the shifts and changes that have occurred in today's
society, whereby it's possible to achieve success through pretending. The
superficiality, and falsehood, that can often be presented via social media,
can lead to questions about what's real and what's not. From AI to the fake personas
that populate the dominant platforms, The Love Pretender speaks to a process
that is symbolic of the time we're living in. Behaviour that has become
acceptable in today's world, which may not have been as welcomed a few
decades ago. But this is part of the cycle of life... Jeff's intention with
this music is to present it in high-fidelity, to be listened to over and over
and over again. In post-recording he worked for hours to ensure the audio
quality was as high as it could be. The goal is to create music that people
can live with their entire lives, from his solo work to these masterful
improvisations. Music that comes to life, music that has a voice we can
replicate with our own vocals. Expressive, unstructured, and alive... With
The Love Pretender Jeff Mills continues his mission to experiment with music
outside the bounds of what is typically expected. It's freeing, enlivening,
vibrant and uniquely human. As ever, Jeff's visionary outlook and bold
approach to musical performance and recording has produced a body of work
that epitomises his often revolutionary capabilities. There's no pretending
here, just pure unadulterated sonic transmissions from a wonderfully daring,
inspiring and optimistic ensemble... |

A
long standing resident of the infamous FOLD in London whose risen to
prominence with electrifying performances across Europe and a growing
discography on esteemed labels such as Ear To Ground, Natural Selection, Raw
Quarter, Laburnum, and Mhost Likely , Andromeda unveils her debut on Rant
& Rave with Dark Matter EP. Drawing inspiration from the raw essence of
90s techno, with it she hones in her skills with modular synthesis and
hardware production. The EP opens with the title track, where a brooding
tapestry of foreboding synths gradually rise in pitch and complexity,
simulating the mysterious expansion of the cosmos. Lost Planet follows with
hypnotic leads and an unyielding rhythm section. Appropriately titled Black
Hole follows which cuts through with razor-sharp stabs and a resonating
bassline. Closing with El Abismo, Andromeda ventures into darker sonic
territories. This track is a no holds barred assault, where interwoven synth
lines clash against commanding percussion and a punishing kick, asserting
dominance over the dance floor with commanding force. As a digital bonus,
Andromeda invites Severn Electronics label owner, 7XINS, who delivers an
outstanding remix of Black Hole. With his signature sound, 7XINS layers
complex synth textures and reverberated drum patterns that twist the mind and
tease the senses, crafting a remix that is as intricate as it is impactful |

in printed inner sleeve. The Joy of Coincidences is the debut album from the
intriguing Barcelona-born and raised musician and singer-songwriter of
British and German descent. Within the midst of movement, noise and chaos of
the city, Bianca Steck searched for calmness and silence in order to write
these twelve songs. Whether in a bar, on a tram, under a tree in a park, on a
bench or on the balcony of her little apartment in Brussels overlooking the
square, there must always be room for curiosity regarding the world we live
in. Hence, this album was born through her compelling need for a conscious
observation of our society and surroundings. The songs are stories and
related feelings that reflect upon mankind observed through our eyes in
different circumstances and the consequent understanding of ourselves along
this process. This reflection is told through intimate music coming from
folk-inspired pop. Rooted in classical tradition, Bianca Steck chooses
instruments such as harp, cello, double bass, upright piano, and flugelhorn
and blends these warm sounds with synths, omnichord, drums, electric bass...
in a very delicate way in order to create a dreamy landscape of sound. This
carefully chosen music together with lyrics that tell real down to earth
stories seen through the eyes of her imaginary world are the realm of this
work. BiancaSteck sees coincidences as small and playful interruptions of our
everyday concerns, of life. We live in extremely uncertain times where many
worries reign over our minds and there needs to be some kind of
lightheartedness to move forward, to survive. Within all this complex spiral
of thoughts, in the Joy of Coincidences the essential seed of simplicity
prevails over the existential crisis. The album is produced together with
Catalan pianist and composer Nil Ciuró and features guest appearance Hania
Rani with whom Bianca Steck toured as a support act across London, Paris,
Berlin, Utrecht, Antwerp and other European cities and venues. All demos were
recorded in her apartment in Brussels with very simple means and were later
on recorded in a studio in the mountains of Catalunya. LIVE: 05/02 :

Every once in a while a record
comes along which is a little bit special, a record which stands the test of
time, bringing the same reaction to the dancefloor now as it did all those
years ago, and ‘Don’t You Want My Love’ is one of those records. Almost four

when David Morales dropped it at the party in March 2017. Now Debbie Jacob’s
timeless classic lands on Glitterbox Recordings for a special vinyl package

One of the best-known African
musicians of all time, the renowned Malian singer and guitarist Ali Farka
Toure was one of the pioneers of African desert blues. Born to a noble cast,
he was forbidden to play music but wound up representing Mali in the early
1960s on an international contest held in Bulgaria, where he bought his first
guitar and was exposed to the music of John Lee Hooker, which became a big
influence. This self-titled classic was recorded for Radio Mali in 1977 and
captures Toure at his magnificent best, with just his guitar for
accompaniment, and an unusual violin on both 'Yer Mali Wolo' and 'Remobe |

Calling Mattheis a pillar of
Nous'klaer Audio would be an understatement. Founded in 2013, the label was
at the time solely created to put out Mattheis' Isms EP. Now, twelve years
on, we present his latest album: Waiting for the Silhouette. The forty minute
LP full of dreamy techno bliss explorations starts out, and is glued
throughout, with ethereal modulating synths. Dreamscapes fuse into scattered
drums and shifting patterns briefly usher in changing phases. It's in these
moments when the unworldly contours take form and are built upon by other
emerging elements. Waiting for the silhouette is a record about things coming
to life, outlines that start to appear and shapes evoking memories that could
as well be premonitions. Minimalism and maximalism become indistinguishable
on this album, through the trip in between. Artwork by Frederic Dumoulin. The
record is cut inside-out and comes with a downloadcard |

This debut release is a
collaboration between two renowned Dutch labels, Zodiak Commune Records and
Shipwrec, both with decades of rich history. This collaboration fused
experimental electronics driven by Roland's TB 303's with IDM, electro, and
jungle influences, aiming to provide thought-provoking music for both the
dance floor and relaxed listening amid today's oversaturated dance music
scene. Enter the Ghost Ship is the work of G303, a Zodiak Commune resident
producer, stepping out of his hard acid comfort zone to explore a more
emotional, dystopian, and sophisticated sound |

Om
Unit surprises us with a second volume of his 'Acid Dub Studies' project,
once again fusing his love for the 303 with studio techniques given to us by
musical heroes such as King Tubby, Adrian Sherwood, Jammys and Basic Channel.
This second volume further solidifies the convincing narrative created by its
best-selling predecessor, heading in a more groove-based direction in places
whilst being underpinned by the same sonic narrative that has been enjoyed by
many music fans from a variety of different spheres for the past 18 months or
so Support so far for the Acid Dub Studies project has come from many corners
including some of the most highly respected names in UK Radio such as Don
Letts and Steve Barker, Benji B and Tom Ravenscroft as well as a whole host
of truly global worldwide underground support both via radio and in the
dance. Om Unit says of this record: 'I felt encouraged by the sheer love for
the original selection of works to go back in again and continue to
experiment with this approach to writing whilst refining some of the process.
Being able to combine processes and influence has been the mainstay of my
creative life and I hope this next volume of Acid Dub will be enjoyed by
everyone who was a fan of the first' The beloved 303 bassline continues to
inspire every new generation and Acid Dub Studies II is another storybook of
sound in that vast continuum that shows no sign of slowing down |

Kicking
2025 off with a NEW LIFE, Kito Jempere resumes operations retro-outfit
shining, all machines blazing, pulling up with a boiling four-trackpackage
bound to get dance floors quivering in excitement. A stick ofdynamite flung
into the mouth of today's corporate dance music blandness, 'New Life' finds
the Saint Petersburg producer spitting multi-strain madnesswith reckless fun
and adventurous panache. Take New Order in theirTechnique days, sprinkle with
early hip-hop breaks and finish it with a funk-savvy mix of acid, happy
hardcore and ghetto tech jack, and you prettymuch have the opening track and
lead-single 'New Life' capsulized to a tee. A blissed-out, choppy ride
spinning recklessly into dance-y abandon, 'LoveFilter' takes us on a
heavy-lidded trip across dreamy electronic folds andonto vaporous apexes,
where drum-heavy jolts and sliced vocals collidewith spacious pads from outer
space. As hypnotic as it reveals hard-hitting, 'Killer Line De-Part' deploys
a warped kaleidoscope of trancey shades,grunge-y grit and largely '80s
informed analogue wizardry, convergingtowards the most hair-raising finale
with your feet in the air and a dumbsmile across the face. Rounding off the
record, 'Put Love Into Your Heart(Club Mix)' is a luminous slice of trippy,
feelgood electronics engineered fordance floor communion and uplifting
let-go. Fill your heart with love |

There
are very special records that achieve mythical status amongst collectors and
vinyl diggers. THE SHARPEES GO ON AND LAUGH is top of that tree. Welcome to
the strange world of Nothern Soul… The story began some years ago when
legendary UK record dealer John Anderson discovered an acetate in Chicago
with the record title GO ON AND LAUGH scrawled on it but no artist name. He
sold it to cutting edge Northern Soul DJ John Vincent who credited the track
to THE JUST BROTHERS when playing out. The acetate, by now popular amongst
the Rare Soul cognoscenti, was traded back to John Anderson who passed it on
to Mark Dobson, aka Butch. His DJ sets around the World made it an in-demand
dance floor filler and a subject for many years of much conjecture as to the
ID of the mystery artist who had recorded this masterpiece which was not just
a one-off uber rarity but also the epitome of Nu-Northern Soul cool. Fast
forward to 2016 when USA record label Secret Stash gained access to 200 plus
master tapes recorded in the 1960’s by the Windy City’s ONE-DER-FUL set up.
They were forwarded to UK Soul entrepreneur Mark Bicknell who to his
amazement found GO ON AND LAUGH in the haul. And finally the whodunit mystery
was over with the artist identified as THE SHARPEES, who far from being
obscure unknowns aee fondly well known in Soul circles for their much loved
DO THE 45 and TIRED OF BEING LONELY singles. Secret Stash promptly issued GO
ON AND LAUGH in America but demand far outstripped simply and it quickly sold
out with copies now fetching northwards of £150. ANORAX - living up to its
#eatsleepcollect mantra - have snapped up the rights and are delighted to
issue it as a 500 run limited edition 7”. GO ON AND LAUGH is coupled with the
timeless classic TIRED OF BEING LONELY. It follows the release by ANORAX of
gems from DRIZABONE, JAY. J Feat. BIG BROOKLYN RED and DON CARLOS |

Released in 2018, the Original
Blunted Breaks Vol.1 compilation was a landmark release in the future jungle
revival, collating the sounds of the rapidly emerging underground in long
player format and extending the reach of the
modern Productions behind the clubs and hardcore vinyl enthusiasts to
the likes of BBC Radio 6, with guest Dead Man’s Chest mix and album feature
on Tom Ravenscroft’s show. In the ensuing years, contemporary jungle music
has continued to gain in popularity with a rapidly expanding global influence
and reaching younger audiences who’ve adopted it as the sound of now. In
2025, Western Lore continues to push the freshest rising talent alongside now
established stalwarts, continuing its role as a modern tastemaker in both
jungle music and the wider electronica scene. This 4 track LP sampler is a
flavour taster for the next iteration of the Blunted Breaks compilations,
with Vol.3 due late Spring 2025 |

In
celebration of one of the most dynamic and diverse periods ever in the
singles charts, NOW are proud to present ‘NOW That’s What I Call An Era: The
Sound Of The Suburbs’ – out February 7th! Available as a 3-LP vinyl (pressed
as x1 Black, x1 White and x1 Red vinyl) in a tri-fold sleeve that features
notes about all of the 51 featured tracks! Spanning multiple genres that
contributed to the rich diversity of the era – including punk, new wave,
reggae, ska, mod and electronic – between 1977 and the end of 1980, and all
of which would inspire the wave of new art and club influenced pop that would
come to define the musical landscape of the early 80s… Kicking off with punk
& new wave classics from The Clash with the iconic ‘London Calling’, the
Ramones, Iggy Pop, The Jam and The Boomtown Rats who were the first punk/new
wave band to have a #1 single, with ‘Rat Trap’. The Undertones and XTC
created defining tracks, and the first side includes two bands that would
rate amongst the most influential of all time; The Cure and Joy Division…
Flip the LP over for Blondie’s ‘Hanging On The Telephone’ and Siouxsie And
The Banshees ‘Hong Kong Garden’ which began a run of hit singles that would
last for more than fifteen years! Unforgettable Top 40 debuts from The
Rezillos, Plastic Bertrand and The Dickies feature alongside huge hits from
Squeeze and the Skids – before the first LP closes with legendary tracks from
Magazine and Public Image Limited… The collection’s subtitle, ‘The Sound Of
The Suburbs’, opens LP2 from The Members, along with punk anthems from The
Stranglers, The Ruts and The Runaways, and new wave classics from The Only
Ones, The Tom Robinson Band and the Patti Smith Group. Plus, Elvis Costello
and Jonathan Richman both also feature with signature self-penned songs. Side
2 opens with the first #1 of the ‘80s from the Pretenders, and features
massive hits from The Police, Roxy Music, Joe Jackson and ‘Geno’, #1 in 1980
for Dexys Midnight Runners alongside the chart debuts from Secret Affair, The
Motors and Martha And The Muffins… Fusing traditional ska, reggae, rocksteady
and new wave, The Specials, Madness, The Selecter, and The Beat open LP 3
with an amazing run, ahead of UB40 with their reggae/new wave fusion ‘Food
For Thought’. Japan and Sparks provide some early and influential electronic
new wave and The B-52’s close the side with their peerless new wave classic
‘Rock Lobster’… whilst the final side features new wave pop gems from Adam
& The Ants and Bow Wow Wow along with more synth driven new wave that
would set the direction for the new decade, featuring a stellar line-up
including Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, The Human League, John Foxx and
#1’s from Tubeway Army with ‘Are ‘Friends’ Electric?’ and The Buggles with their 1979 chart
topper ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’ – which in 1981 would become the first
music video shown on MTV… Whether you were there at the time or have
discovered this incredible music since – we are delighted to present the
sounds of an ERA…. NOW That’s What I Call An Era: The Sound Of The Suburbs -

Legendary
French DJ and producer The Hacker debuts on Radio Slave’s Rekids with the
‘Laser & Smoke’ EP on 21st February 2025. The two-track ‘Laser &
Smoke’ EP harkens back to The Hacker’s early 90s roots in Detroit-inspired
Electro & Techno. First, he starts with ‘Turborave’, a tasteful, bleepy
cut with an unignorable bassline and muted dub chords that wash over its
snappy groove. ‘Turborave’ is the kind of heads-down, lose-yourself
dancefloor moment for the later hours before ‘Harmonia’ sees The Hacker
play with high-voltage cables on the B-side. Charged-up zaps and zippy acid
call and respond while bodied drum hits keep the rhythm moving, whistles and
pads occasionally joining in. Pioneering DJ and producer The Hacker is
renowned for being a leading proponent of Electroclash in the early 2000s,
his Techno and EBM-infused sound, and iconic collaborations with Miss Kittin.
With releases on labels like Dark Entries, Mannequin Records, and Turbo, as
well as remixes for Air, Soft Cell, Dave Clarke, and Front 242, The Hacker
remains a vital force in electronic music. He now adds Radio Slave’s Rekids
to his extensive discography for the first time via the ‘Laser &
Smoke EP. Radio Slave’s Rekids was founded in 2006 and has since spawned
successful offshoots with the Techno-focused Rekids Special Projects in
2017 and its newest sublabel, REK’D, in 2024. With Matt Edwards as the sole
A&R, Rekids has been crucial in developing early artist careers and has
become a haven for established acts operating in House and adjacent genres,
having recently featured the likes of Harry Romero, Hilit Kolet, William
Kiss, Bushwacka, Mathias Kaden, Tiger Stripes, Tal Fussman, and many more |

is the fourth part in a series of 4 outstanding double vinyl albums with
bonus songs, previously released on CD between 1990 and 1994 on the
Australian cult label Extreme Music. According to many critics and fans, this
was a unique and very special period in Bryn Jones' work, during which he
went from amateur musician to experimental sound sculptor. Sadly, Bryn passed
away in early 1999 at the age of 38. The original tracks have been perfectly
remastered for this first vinyl release and the new masters have been praised

Formed
in the Annan, Dumfries/Cumbria no man's land of English/Scottish borderland
in 1978 before dissolving in the early 80s, The Limps are another case of a
forgotten punk gem who never truly received their flowers. Releasing only a
handful of singles during their short-lived tenure, which managed reliable
spins from legendary DJ John Peel, this compilation collates every known
recording of the band's output onto one singular slice of wax, including cuts
taken directly from their Peel Sessions. The much anticipated pressing also
comes just as the band are enjoying somewhat of a resurgence due to the use
of their track 'Someone I Can Talk To' in the 2024 teen comedy Snack Shack.
According to guitarist and songwriter Andy Septic (nowadays known as Cumberland
Council's councillor and former mayor of Cockermouth Andrew Semple) -
"John loved the second record saying it was a 'considerable improvement'
from the first. We recorded his show on tape then years later we put it on
YouTube and that's where the film director heard us", before humorously
clarifying, "We've received a bit of money, but there's not much when
it's got to be divided between four of us". Don't sleep as this small
batch or rarities won't stick around long. LP limited to 250 copies |

Cali
Lanauze makes label debut on Crosstown Rebels with his ‘Borderline’ EP. The
three-tracker, landing on 14th February 2025, features a first-time
collaboration with Cari Golden alongside two solo cuts. Hailing from the
vibrant shores of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Cali Lanauze has spent over a decade
carving out his space in the global electronic scene. A trailblazer since his
teens, Cali’s rich, eclectic grooves re?ect both his Caribbean roots and his
deep connection to underground music. Now, with his debut on Damian Lazarus’
Crosstown Rebels, he follows an impressive outing via sister label Rebellion
with his ‘Borderline’ EP, cementing his position as one of his nation’s ?nest
electronic exports. The title track sees Cali team up with LA-based singer/songwriter
Cari Golden, whose credits include collaborations with Groove Armada,
Camelphat, Anja Schneider, Audio?y, and more. Having debuted on Crosstown
Rebels with Fur Coat on ‘You and I’, Cari’s second appearance sees her
soulful, evocative vocals intertwine e?ortlessly with Cali’s melancholic yet
uplifting production. On the ?ip, Cali showcases his solo prowess. ‘Temple of
Confessions’ takes listeners on a hypnotic journey with trippy grooves
inspired by the otherworldly energy of Hï Ibiza’s Club Room, while ‘Talk To
My People’ delivers a heady mix capturing the essence of his dynamic
artistry. Cali’s journey from a young producer in Puerto Rico has welcomed
releases on labels like Flying Circus, Visionquest, and My Favorite Robot,
garnering support from legends such as Carl Cox, Radio Slave, and DJ Sneak.
Curating groundbreaking events in Puerto Rico, gracing iconic venues like Hï
Ibiza and Brooklyn Mirage, and heading up his own label, Opulenc, Launauze
has created a platform for his innovations and genre-spanning productions |

“With both of us playing each
other’s tracks, it felt natural to collaborate in the studio on original
music. Both ‘Dusted’ and ‘Stuck’ bridge the UK and US scenes, and are the
result of multiple studio sessions in London when Leonce was touring in Europe”
~ Pangaea. ‘Dusted’ is UKG influenced with out-of-this-world textures, fast
paced drums, expertly-chopped vocals that build on the styles Pangaea and
Leonce are known for whilst 'Stuck' takes a more restrained approach, taking
influence from classic 90s US club tracks. Pangaea co-runs cult UK label
Hessle Audio, widely regarded as one of the finest electronic music producers
of a generation whilst Leonce has been honing his US underground Club styles
with the RA Recommends critically acclaimed 2024 album, System Of Objects |

Swedish
talent Dold drops nuanced techno cuts on 10" via SHDW's Mutual Rytm X.
Stockholm-based Patrik Eriksson, aka Dold, is a cultured producer known for
crafting hypnotic loops with a minimalist, emotive touch-bridging underground
dancefloors and introspective listening. As a DJ, producer, and co-founder of
Arsenik, Dold has championed raw, unembellished techno since 2015. His
releases on Key and Fuse blend Detroit techno's legacy with IDM's intricacy
and ambient's ethereal tones, creating a style that is both timeless and
forward-thinking. Whether it's crafting tapestry's recorded via hardware in
the studio or performing live, Dold continues to innovate, honouring techno's
roots while exploring its future, and his talent is on full display across
his label debut on Mutual Rytm X. 'Grainy' opens the EP and showcases Dold's
ability to craft deep and loopy techno with a stripped-back, emotive edge.
It's deft but enthralling, with innovative synths rising and falling through
the minimal drums. 'Surface' is another compelling deep cut with hurried drum
funk and subtle synth pulses, adding a futuristic edge to the groove. The
fantastic 'Blush' brings smears of warm synth and machine soul to a dynamic
dub techno rhythm that bends the past with the present. Digital bonus cuts
'Dub at Heart (Club Version)' and 'Dub at Heart (Sofa Version)' offer
contrasting perspectives of the same track, with the first aiming directly
for peak-time sessions, while the latter closes the package on a laid-back

Building on their potent previous
album for the imprint, J A returns to Rubber as a trio, this time
supercharged by Donato Dozzy, the Italian maestro of minimal techno, for a
limited-edition 7-inch. Threading liquid geometry into Andrea Noce (Eva
Geist, As Longitude) and Jonida Prifti (Acchiappashpirt, Opa Opa)'s
spellbinding vocal acrobatics, Dozzy's rhythmic latticework is as luminous as
ever. Watch out for the titular track--a sound system homage--with its
eruptions of cold bass and fractured whispers. A testament to the mystical
power of the voice, Sorella di Confine is ritualistic and hypnotic--think:

Helena Casella is a Belgian-Brazilian vocalist with a multicultural
background who vocalizes her thoughts in her own passionate, soulful, and
tasteful manner. She grew up in an incredibly musical family with strong ties
to the broader artistic world. This rich background is clearly audible in her
musical approach, where she blends genres such as R&B, soul, hip-hop, and
modern jazz without breaking the connection to the vibrant sounds of Brazil,
where part of her roots lie. The depth of her soft, warm voice pulls you into
her story, floating between the realms of the intimate and the ethereal. With
her debut album 'Pit Of Impressions,' Helena shows that she is an artist from
whom we have yet to hear the best. File under: neo soul, nu jazz, R&B.

Tunik lands on Dekmantel with his
distinctive strain of jacking drum machine electro-techno. The
Barcelona-based, Argentina-born artist first emerged in 2020 with a standout
EP and collaborative spot for Nicolas Lutz’s My Own Jupiter label before
notching up a release with Furthur Electronix, and now his
emotionally-charged sound spreads its wings once more. A New Dawn lands
somewhere between original 80s synth-pop, the noirish allure of early 00s
electro and sleek modern techno, using a full spectrum of synths to draw out
harmonically rich tunes that pack in the feels while holding enough mystery
to keep a dancefloor enthralled. From the melancholic chimes of 'New Dawn
Fades' to the electro lament of 'The Aeon', 'Electro 01's punchy,
bass-warping rave energy to 'Third Eye Connection's acidic introspection,
it’s an EP which cements Tunik’s highly developed expression through his
array of studio tools, all strapped to finely honed club structures for
maximum dancefloor impact |

Techno
legend Cari Lekebusch debuts on Mind Medizin with an 8-track double pack of
underground Techno. Stockholm-based sound architect Cari Lekebusch has helped
to shape the sound of the underground over the last two-plus decades. He has
long been at the heart of his native scene alongside peers such as Adam Beyer
and Joel Mull and heads up his own H. Productions label while also serving up
his timeless sounds on cultured outlets such as Drumcode and Planet Rhythm.
Opener 'Mind and Matter' opens with quick, compelling drum programming and
trippy synth details peeling off thebeats. Muttered vocals bring a dark
intensity as the percussion also adds layers of tension. The fantastic
'Freakout' isanother classically inclined and linear techno banger with thudding
kicks and futuristic synth lines weaving in and outof the beats. There is no
let-up in the pressure with the excellent 'Ninguno es Uno' keeping it deep,
driving and late night, this time with squelchy acid lines adding character.
'Heritage' shuts down with a hypnotic blend of shimmering cosmic synth lines
and pulsing deep techno drums that keep the mind and body fully locked in.
This second half kicks off with 'Cause and Effect', a bustling blend of
scuffed-up kicks and snares, glitchy hits and jangling synth sounds that
bring great looseness to the driving grooves. The funky 'Handkante' delivers
flailing percussive patterns and wisps of synths that spit out of the mix
next to a drunken synth lead. 'Strulgubbe' keeps the pressure on with more muscular
drums, this time underpinned by darker bass and unsettling synth twangs. The
fantastic closer 'Tuli Taivaalla' offers up a serene sound that is backed
with sustained chords and marbled with edgy vocals |
