El Alamo was a cult Peruvian
psychedelic rock band that, as other groups in Lima such as Laghonia, Traffic
Sound and Telegraph Avenue did, sung in English aiming to reach the
international market. Their only LP was released in 1971 and was recorded
under the influence of Hendrix, Santana, and The Allman Brothers. Unavailable
for almost two decades, we are now happy to reissue "Malos
pensamientos" in its full glory, with gatefold jacket, two bonus tracks
taken from their rare 45, and an insert with liner notes |

Smile'
is the unfinished album by the Beach Boys intended to follow their 1966 album
Pet Sounds. the project came to be regarded as the most legendary unreleased
album in popular music history. The album was produced and almost entirely
composed by Brian Wilson with Van Dyke Parks, both of whom conceived the
project as a 'teenage symphony to God' It was a concept album that was
planned to feature word paintings, tape manipulation, experiments with
musical acoustics, themes of youth and innocence, and comedic interludes,
with influences drawn from mysticism, pre-rock and roll pop, doo-wop, jazz,
ragtime, musique concrète, classical, American history, poetry, spirituality,
and cartoons. A mythology grew around the project, and its unfulfilled
potential inspired many, especially those in indie rock, post-punk,
electronic, and chamber pop genres |

"After
a first appearance on the "Various 1" EP, Oshana now makes her full
release debut on Altered Circuits. The "Origins EP" is, in the
artist's words, a collection of old-meets-new four-to-the-floor club
flavours. Originating from her live set practice, it's a proper
representation of where she's currently at: making a push for the bigger and
bolder. Her obvious talent for meticulously stacking textures doesn't stop
her from shifting to the stripped-back and straightforward when needed. The
constant throughout is a sensibility for the dancefloor, which never lets
anything get in the way of groove and rhythm. "Above We Soar" drops
right into the action with a menacing bassline and equally gloomy synthesizer
layering. The cut's gothic-black palette works a charm merging palpable
tension with restraint. It builds for 4 minutes towards a drop - and then a
slamming acid line succeeds in cranking the energy even up another notch.
"Space And Time Dimensions" is a loopy roller which, by the sound
of its reverb levels and ambient noises, might have been recorded at a
missile silo. The stretched vocal samples and ever-evolving drums propel it
forward in a vintage, Chicago house type way. There's a moment of calm when
those briefly fall away; one of its quirky basslines subsequently makes room
for a slick little polyrhythm sine, and everything clicks even more. On the
other side, "Girls In The Front" doesn't loosen the reins either,
as hefty kicks and another sturdy bassline immediately set the tone. The air
appears charged with static electricity, and Oshana's way of niftily adding
and subtracting seamlessly draws the listener into a groovy trip. 5 minutes
fly by, and then the lead still has to emerge. The one that eventually comes
in is huge and hypnotic. Topped off with a selection of vocals that burst
with impatience, the track hints at the anthemic. Closer "Origins"
taps into a more progressive and trance side with its modulated formant
bassline, jittery arpeggiator lead and heavily flanged flourishes. A gust of
electronic flutes and sleek chords take a turn for the - almost - idyllic.
Not for long: not uncharacteristically, it switches back to the main beat and
back into more ambiguous yet familiar territory." |

techno systems, their effect, and the direct perimeter of action, Peter van
Hoesen turns in his newest four-track piece, 'Prime Directive': a fascinating
dive into the artist's shape-shifting headspace and inner creative chaos.
Fuelled on a furnace-hot mix of abstract-leaning immersion and hi-octane
rhythmic thrust, Prime Directive looks at contemporary techno from the angle
of experimentation and intuitive abandon. The result comes in four distinct
movements, each carving out its own logic and associated behavior in an
endless pool of potentialities. Here comes chaology unfolding in all its
unadulterated, visceral glory. 'Definition by Absence' breaks the trip into
the sound of a faux-random symphony: its train-like swing and fiery bass
seesaw coalesce through an elliptic fluttering of sorts, iterative and not,
patterns moving in and out of synchronicity as van Hoesen applies more or
less pressure on both ends. All in gusty in-your-face-ness, 'Variables Edit
1' whirls and swirls like an ominous vengeance of nature; Its puncturing
kicks and whistling menace set against stellar winds and rabid machinery on
the prowl for its next victim. An even more unsettling piece of disjointedly
arrhythmic, anti-club music for the dance floor, 'Prime Directive' will have
you zoning out like a bad dream, flush with metronome-faced monsters and
molten clocks hanging from dead trees. 'Morphology' could be PVH's attempt at
giving his concepts a carnal carcass to hold onto. Here, the rhythm becomes
somewhat less erratic, offering his 360-degree vision more melodic surface
and actual room for dispersion. One to keep the boundaries pushed and
status-quo challenged, this is techno at its most entrancingly bold and

November 2, 2018. Steve Bicknell returns to his 6dimensions label, adopting
his The Evader guise once again with a re- issue release titled 'Awakening
The Past 2'. Returning as The Evader for the second instalment of 'Awakening
The Past', this will be Steve's fourth appearance on 6dimensions and features
four tracks from 1994's 'No Hats Required' EP, which dropped on influential
UK label, Cosmic Records - the tracks were originally made by Steve to be
played together as a segment in various combinations. This release follows
outings from 6dimensions artists Jing, Metro Skim and Heartless - continuing
the label's theme of illustrating the 'human mind's natural make-up'. 'No
Hats Required - Track 1' displays a locked 4x4 groove, filled with tidy
modulations bouncing gracefully off the kicks before 'Track 6' offers a
fast-pitched looping beat with floating percussive jitters. 'Track 2' then
features twisted stab sequences over a minimal drum loop before a rolling 808
beat joins oscillating bass flutters in 'Track 3'. On the flip two new
productions 'Power Of Balance' provides cross firing synth shrills layered
and tough techno convolutions to generate a rising intensity, until 'Shifting
Illusion' concludes the package with minimalist dubbed-out flavours whilst
flush melodies harmonise with continuous pulsations |

about a son in denial of a serious illness and a mother facing the
unbearable. Between them a doctor and a nurse fight to do their job and bring
them to acceptance. They have one year and four seasons to come together and
understand what it means to die while living. Eric Neveux has written an
intense, emotional, highly inspired and moving score, with echoes of
Impressionism imbued with melancholy. The score was recorded in London with a
chamber ensemble and has been produced by Jean-Pierre Arquié. This limited LP
edition, produced by the composer, comes in a beautiful gatefold design and

In 1994, with only a single
12" in his discography, Morgan Geist decided to start his own record
label. His debut on Dan Curtin's Metamorphic label was inspired by the sounds
of Detroit techno and Chicago house. But Geist was equally fascinated by UK
imports from labels like Warp, B12, and ART. He sought to combine these
inspirations on the first release of his new label, Environ. Featuring a
remix from The Connection Machine, whose unique "Bitflower" was
released the year before on Carl Craig's Planet E, "Premise EP"
(1995) was recorded in Ohio and mastered in Detroit by the legendary Ron
Murphy. The release also marked the end of four years of Geist living the
midwest and his return to the metro area of New York City, a dramatic shift
that would soon be reflected in Environ's sound. This reissue of ENV001

its purest form: hypnotic, percussive, and propulsive. Across four tracks and

meets tightly coiled grooves, while textural elements shift and evolve with
subtle precision. A1 'Relax' sets the foundation with a mighty sub-base,

"relax". Then comes 'Chomp Chomp', a denser offering in Wise's

surpassing expectations once again across a varied, cohesive selection of
tracks. A1 - Dream Assembly: Opening the LP we see Aural Imbalance showcase
that inimitable world-building through swirling ambient soundscapes in full
effect, a luscious intro welcoming sharp, snappy breakbeats, edited
sublimely, collecting visceral cyberpunk debris on their long journey home.
Subtle 808 basslines lie sleepily beneath as the composition forms a
memorably soothing vibe that captures the mind. A2 - Comet Cycle: Low
filtered beats adorn an intro warning of energy to follow, forming a
distinctive tone that is quickly elevated by surprisingly energetic and
impeccably tuned breaks. Presently joined by inquisitive smatterings of
ethereal effects, the track develops a curious and tuneful identity with
harmonising melodies crafted across a varied mix, building and retaining a
rousing, suspenseful vibe, leaving the listener in no doubt as to the
ever-evolving skillset of Aural Imbalance. B1 - Neptune: Setting the pace
immediately with classy, imposing breakbeats, Neptune sees Aural Imbalance
showcasing a wonderful ethos of dancefloor-friendly atmospherics with finely
crafted edits toyed with at will for the listener with the breaks being the
undoubted star of the show from an ambient legend. Subdued melodies and
wide-ranging synthwork dances back and forth complementing the mix, all with
a bouncy 808 bassline rumbling below. B2 - Stasis: Changing the pace
somewhat, next up we are treated to Stasis, a track which again opens with
breaks, this time slightly more reserved with a thudding, analogue tone.
Calming atmospherics crafted from delicious synthwork and reverberating
melodies join forces with wisping pads that fly gently around the soundscape,
with plinky rhapsodies delicately adding texture to a truly wonderful collage
of sound. C1 - Warpcore: Deceptively airy with incredibly light bongos and
synths, the introduction to Warpcore entices the listener perfectly, smoothly
introducing filtered breaks which suddenly reveal superbly programmed,
distinctive amens that thrash around the mix with vigor. Clicky hats,
striking cymbals and layers of tuneful effects deliver immense detail you can
listen to over and over, hearing new elements each time. C2 - Into The Void:
Continuing the breaks-driven approach to the LP, Into the Void sees Aural
Imbalance lay down a sublime selection of crisp, earthy old school
breakbeats, edited to perfection with an immensely danceable beat pattern
with delicate cowbell-style hi hats. Energising, vibrantly inspiring pads
inject a warm sparkle to the mix, while a consistent, luscious classic 808
bassline playfully judders along below. D1 - Thermal Isolation: Opening with
an ever so slightly nervous tone, a plethora of layered ambient sounds create
caution and intrigue, as Thermal Isolation's intro draws you in before a
wonderful arrangement of messy breaks built with a delicious exuberance Aural
Imbalance is clearly enjoying as his Spatial repertoire grows ever more
impressive. Radiant effects are liberally flecked across the flourishing
track in the latter half, adding grand texture and depth. D2 - Forever:
Closing the LP in style, Aural Imbalance delivers a mellow intro to Forever,
consisting of filtered beats and a simple xylophone-style melody, before the
true star of the show - some of the most finely crafted breaks you'll hear -
thump their way into the mix and warmly seize our attention. Edited with a
bold, effortless brilliance, the classic hats and kicks triumphantly jostle
around long vocal samples and subtle ambient synths to round off this

Rap music is still here! Mike Redman is considered a cult legend known for
his unorthodox music production in various genres. He's well known as an
artist in the Jungle and Hardcore scene, as a renowned movie score composer
and made a name for himself as organiser of the infamous 'Redrum Hip-Hop'
events since the 90's which hosted international artists from Guru to
Cannibal Ox. He also set up Redrum Recordz, a pioneering independent record
label focussing merely on anything musically unpolished. Even though Mike
Redman (which is his name of birth by the way) was often linked to many
Hip-Hop succes stories and produced records for artists such as Public Enemy
and Big Daddy Kane, Mike has just recently, after many years, decided to
produce a solo record featuring the Rap artists he admires and form the
foundation of his legacy. With great respect towards his mentors, in a
non-profit manner, Mike now releases 'Redrum Relics' featuring Rap icons such
as Kool Keith, Chuck D, Schoolly D, Sticky Fingaz, Young Zee, Chino XL, O.C.

common is that each project originates from friendship or a cooperation
between like minded souls. This release is no different from that. "Guus"
refers to the owner of a little cabin studio where a group of friends came
together to create some beats. ARUM consists of Kaap (De Lichting), Jasper
Wolff (Indigo aera), Luna Ludmila and ESHU head honcho Ivano Tetelepta
himself. After an extended weekend of studio sessions this was the last jam
created on a hazy Sunday afternoon when the crew headed into deep dub

his craft since the early days of the Midwest rave scene, absorbing lessons
from luminaries like Claude Young and Traxx. His skill as a producer has been
cemented with releases on labels like Dark Entries, Fit Sound, and Obsolete
Futures, and his prowess as a DJ has been witnessed on floors worldwide. In
recent years, Converse has also pushed audiences to their lysergic limits
with his sinewy and kinetic live sets, which pair classic analog boxes like
the Roland TB-303 with cutting-edge modular synthesis techniques. The 7
tracks on Trust pick up the wild energy of these live hardware explorations,

Over
the course of a decade, Wata Igarashi has risen as one of techno's most
accomplished DJs and producers. His highly aesthetic trademark sound is as
heavily psychedelic as it's driven by its stern kinetic energy. It's often
overlooked that Igarashi is much more than a torch bearer of the raw hypnotic
techno he became known for. He's also a very accomplished and versatile
musician with a deep understanding of the cause and effect of sound design.
His skills are fully on display on 2023's full length "Agartha", a
film score to a fictitious movie about the mythical underworld of planet
Mars. It was a rather obvious idea to cross the bridge between this epic deep
listening album and Wata Igarashi's techno persona by having him remix
himself. As you might expect, the "Agartha Sorcery Acid Mix" has
turned out to be a masterclass in psychedelic designer techno. It's slightly
slower in BPM as the usual Igarashi fare but every bit as captivating. The
"Floating Against Time Shimmering Mix" shows another intriguing
facet of Wata's spectrum. Let's call it: Psychedelic Deep House. KOMPAKT's
very own Michael Mayer couldn't resist to turn the Godzilla soundtrack-ish
"Ceremony Of The Dead" into a positively hysterical minimal disco
operette. And then there's the "Fusion Mix of Abyss x Darkness" by
Philipp Stoffel, a fresh Cologne DJ and producer from whose AKTE club nights
a label with the same name is about to emerge. He's definitely one to keep an
eye on in 2025 |

Well.
Where do we start with 'Deep Inside' Originally released in the golden NYC
House era of 1993, this 5 tracker literally smashed everything in sight. And
still does now! The epitome of an evergreen, all-time classic release.
Masters At Work Louie Vega and Kenny Dope were on a major roll in this era,
producing, remixing, dj-ing and everything in-between, these guys put in
ridiculous work. They are joined on this EP by a roll-call of names and
collaborators, Erick Morillo engineering the title track Check. Maurice
Joshua on co-production duties You got it. Vocals by Ms. Barbara tucker
They're there. Killer, rock hard drums Stacks of Soul Masterfully chopped up
Disco samples All present. Serious stuff. Sometimes a record just manages to
capture and distill the true essence of what this is all about and 'Deep
Inside' is one such record, it bears all the hallmarks of golden era MAW, all
the signposts of what was happening in NYC's clubs in the early to mid 90's
were there within it's grooves. You know a record is good when it's still
being, quite literally, hammered nearly 25 years later! Now, remastered, and
reissued with the full involvement of Strictly Rhythm this seminal piece of
NYC House history is made available again with all original, full sleeve
artwork intact as per the 1993 original. This one's a straight up essential
for any self-respecting dance aficionado. You know what to do! |

Chontane
returns with Set A Dot, the third release on his label, TANE. Offering a
four-track statement of pure rhythmic intensity and intricate groove
construction. Known for his precision-driven approach to techno, Chontane
continues to refine his sound, fusing raw percussive elements, hypnotic
basslines, and evolving sonic textures into club-ready weapons that move both
the mind and body.. From the outset, Magallanes asserts itself with rolling
drum patterns and pulsating synths, locking listeners into its hypnotic
rhythm. Hypnotic synth pulses weave through the track, building tension
gradually until it breaks into a dense, rhythmic crescendo. Next up, Turn the
Tables lives up to its name, amplifying the energy with snapping hi-hats,
deep bass momentum, and restrained synth modulations. A functional yet
