Netil Radio resident Angel D'lites Dolphins Have Sex For Pleasure release on
Banoffee Pie Records last year has already gone down as something of a contemporary
classic, and here she continues in typically high velocity fashion with a
wicked 150bpm lovecore remix of the Local Group original. 'Watch This Beat'
nods to the right side of happy hardcore - its chipmunk vocals, ravey piano
stabs and snappy breakbeats providing plenty of gun-finger induced,
rush-in-the-rave moments - before 'Work That Thing' closes the door with a
scratch-sampled cut of electro that sounds like it was taken from the middle
of a Jerome Hill set |

Mita Gami makes a striking return to Crosstown Rebels this summer with the
bold and emotive ‘Untouchable’ EP, a three-track offering that also marks the
label debut of acclaimed live-electronic duo Garden City Movement. Following
the success of his recent collaboration ‘Where’s My Voice’ with EREZ, his
standout remix of Parallelle & Nicolas Masseyeff ’s Renegade’ alongside
Adam Ten and their 2022 EP ‘High On’, Mita’s fourth outing welcomes a
first-time partnership with Garden City Movement - merging two distinct sonic
worlds into a deeply textured and atmospheric EP. Each track on the EP
showcases the three artists shared affinity for rich textures, vocals, and
instrumentation. Title cut ‘Untouchable’ bursts with vibrant

In 1962, Orson Welles brought to
the big screen THE TRIAL what he called his greatest film. Filmed in a
beautiful black and white, written by Welles and with the incredible
performance of Anthony Perkins, Romy Schneider and Jeanne Moreau. "The
Trial" captures very well the Kafkaesque feeling of the novel. The film
is a paranoic nightmare interrupted here and there by moments of typical
Welles humor. One of the elements that contributes greatly to the atmosphere
of the film is the soundtrack of Jean Ledrut that makes use of both original
parts and adaptations by Tomaso Albinoni *Adagio in G minor(. This soundtrack
makes extensive use of adaptations of Albinoni music as well as some original
tracks very atmospheric. There are also some jazzy tracks *played by the
great jazz pianist as well as composer Martial Solal( that fit beautifully |

After
releasing a couple of albums since their 2011 reunion, Confusional Quartet is
back again with an extraordinary new project; a brand new release featuring
the voice of the great late Demetrio Stratos, the legendary lead singer of
Area - International Popular Group. At the tail end of the seventies, the
Bologna based Confusional Quartet represented one of the finest examples of
the Italian New Wave scene. A complex and energetic mixture between
experimental Rock, Jazz and fresh sounds resulting from the use of new
technologies. In early February, 1979 the band's sound inventor and producer
Gianni Gitti, armed with microphones and a Revox tape recorder, met Stratos
in Bologna and worked on the recording of what would turn out to be one of
his very last solo concerts before his premature death. In fact Gitti had the
chance to record the complete Teatro San Leonardo performance, plus some
precious extra material coming from the daytime rehearsal. After 35 years,
when the Confusional Quartet became aware of the existence of those
recordings, they immediately decide to use them as sound source and
inspiration for some new compositions; a great challenge for such an
instrumental music group. This time the voice is there, and what a voice! In
these previously unheard recordings Stratos displays his well known sonic
vocabulary, a multiplicity of vocal materials and extended techniques such as
double sounds, harmonic and throat singing - a wide vocal sound picture
moving from improvisation to sound poetry. Surprisingly, the final result
shows great integration between Stratos' vocals and the Confusional Quartet's
typical blend of keyboards, guitars, bass and drums. The music seems to take
shape very spontaneously, avoiding all kind of celebrative moods, except for
the well known Area composition, "Cometa Rossa", and
"Manifest'O", a declared sonic tribute to Demetrio's work
experience. The fundamental idea of this new project takes inspiration from
concepts like collective work and total freedom - some kind of no man's land
where simple melodies meet unusual harmonies and irregular rhythms. A
peculiar sonic environment, hard to relate to a specific music genre or
style. Also, this music became the soundtrack of a short film realised by
Francesco Conversano and Nene Grignaffini, that will be projected during the
Confusional Quartet's live concerts. The main instigators of this project
are: the Expanded Music record label, Gianni Gitti, and Stratos' wife,
Daniela Ronconi Demetriou, who encouraged and followed the whole thing |

The
LITTLE VILLAINS debut album -Philthy Lies- is a half hour slice of rock n
roll dream cake! Somehow as if Heaven sent a rare treat, we are able to
experience the exceptional and ferocious talent of late Phil
""hilthy Animal" Taylor one more time! Yes, the very same
Philthy Animal Taylor that provided the pioneering backbeats to all the
albums as a member of the classic lineup of the iconic rock group MOTÖRHEAD.
Coupled with the solid hook led songwriting and guitar craft from Mr. James A
Childs who also fronts the desert rock band AVON, and the youthful thrashing
energetic bass guitarist Owen Street of the Welsh Sludge duo VAILS makes for
a Killer combination! The band's rapport is evident throughout the record,
the relaxed and candid approach is captured complete with repartee. Like a
nomad scene from the Mad Max Road Warrior movie, cars fully laden with
instrumental weaponry sped across the desert. Tracks were laid for the album
at Unit A Studios in Palm Springs, California in February 2007. Philthy Lies
was produced and engineered on 2 inch tape by James A Childs with Unit A-s
owner Robbie Waldman assisting the session. Recently, James has carefully
carved the record-s sound to maximum justice from the original tapes from mix
to master, and it is some of his best work to date. Philthy Lies is a
testament to Philthy Animal Taylor's professionalism and is proof that he was
still every bit the rock and roll giant, even 15 years after his departure
from MOTÖRHEAD! |

Inascoltable is the first album
from Bolognese group Skiantos, the band that added a completely different
flavor to the rock underground with their delirious performances and over the
top lyrics. Released through Oderso Rubini-s Harpo-s Bazaar label *later
Italian Records( in 1977 on cassette format, the album was recorded in one
night in November 1977 in a session that was almost improvised, and was later
printed on LP in 1979. This reissue from the original master does full
justice to the insanely creative playing of the band fronted by Freak Antoni,
who were true forerunners of demented rock and virtuous artists capable of
colorfully interpreting all the non/standard rock movements from the British
and American underground. This record wouldn-t be out of place in the Zappa
discography, although the whole turned out a little bit more punk... |

The productions of producer
BunnyStrikerLee were so extensive in the early to mid 1970s that labels were
created just to handle his ever expanding output... Three labels that came
about during this time when Dub was King, were Jackpot,Justice and Attack.
Here we look at the Justice label and have compiled a collection of some of
its finest dub cuts.. Justice records was formed in the early 70s as a
subsidiary label to handle the ever growing output of Producer and hit maker
from Jamaica,Bunny StrikerLee.Bunny worked in all the Jamaican studios and as
an independent operator would licence his product to all the different labels
in England and America.. Bunny was at the birth of Dub Music and worked
closely with King Tubby. he stored many of his masters at Tubbys studio,where
they were always available for Tubby to work his magic over.. We have
gathered here what we think are some of the best dubcuts from this label and

Rocker’s
Revenge was a studio musical project, assembled by producer Arthur Baker in
1982. The band comprised of Baker himself plus Donnie Calvin, Dwight Hawkes,
Tina B and Adrienne Dupree Johnson. They are most remembered by their 1982
post-disco hit "Walking on Sunshine", which peaked at number 1 on
the US Dance Chart and number 4 in the UK. On the A side of this release, the
track is reset for 2025 with a remix by post punk indie rockers Yard Act,
where they have include their own guitar, synths & vocals to give their
unique stamp to it. – It’s become a track they have been performing live. On
the other side is an unreleased 9 minute remix by New York’s legendary Sound
Factory co-founder Junior Vasquez back from 1988, to make it proto acid house
bassline & driving percussion journey. Boston-born Arthur Baker launched
his music career as a Disco DJ, but soon made his way into music-making,
producing classic Disco for legends Northend and TJM. Arthur is one of the
most visible and widely imitated early Hip-Hop/House producers; masterminding
breakthrough experimentation with tape edits, sampling and synthetic beats on
such records as Afrika Bambaataa's 'Planet Rock', New Order's 'Confusion',
Freeez's ‘IOU’, and his own break Dance classic ‘Breaker's Revenge'. Baker
would go on to become an award-wining DJ, music and film producer, working
for and with the likes Dylan, Hall & Oates, Al Green, Springsteen, The
Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Diana Ross, &many more; on film music for
80s/90s classics such as Beat Street, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Life Less
Ordinary. Turning his hand to film documentary’s, Baker has produced Finding
The Funk and 808 the Movie. Baker has also directed a documentary on Rocker’s
Revenge ‘On A Mission’ along with completing their debut album |

Mask is a 3 piece post-punk/alternative rock band based in Melbourne,
Australia, drawing members who hail from various parts of the globe. The
self-contained writing/production unit comprises Vicente Moncada on
drums/production, Ry Gray on vocals and lyrics, and Kaya Martin on guitars
and synths. Their music is described
as "vague pop instilled with the ancient genius of your own blood,"
suggesting a blend of introspective lyrics, innovative soundscapes, in a
context of absurdist punk. Sex Mask has released several tracks, including
"Tv Movie," "How To Be Cool At Parties," and
"Birds." They have a growing organic base of listeners on streaming
platforms. Their captivating live show in 2024-25 has seen them support
Fcukers, Big Special, Fat White Family and festival stages around Australia.
Following an exciting Bigsound Brisbane and SXSW Sydney in late 2024, the
chaotic trio will embark on their first UK tour this spring, covering stages

B returns with the second installment of its newly established label, this
time with Rill at the helm. Staying true to effect, the young German producer
has honed his percussively forward style with a string of steady releases and
performances over the past three years. In his EP 'Friss', Rill delivers
three highly concentrated club tracks with a Beste Hira remix closing out the
project, assembling a record destined for unforgiving sound systems and
frenzied dance floors. Driving and mental, Rill brews up a viscous first
track 'Silky Stones' to make his intentions clear. Shooting through a
bubbling lead with percussive stabs wide in the stereo field, the producer
uses the element of surprise by sharpening the edge with a sharp key
sequence, doubling down on tension to an already hypnotic cut. With no time
to waste, the needle slides to 'Rakija', with an imposing groove and quick,
dry hats. Characteristically, a dystopian melody warbles over a robust rhythm
to ensure maximum movement. Two tracks in and Rill already proves to balance
his tools with attitude. Taking a turn on the record flip, the B1 ups the
audacity with the title track 'Friss'. Techno usually prioritising kicks is a
rule that Rill sweeps aside in exchange for an intimidating bassline with an
ecosystem of high frequency ambiance. A testament to balance and spatial
definition, the German adopts in fitting chord stabs in the second half to up
the ante in a contained manner. To conclude, celebrated Beste Hira puts her
spin on the latter for a drum forward eye roller, versatile for almost any
dancefloor. Reconceptualizing the rhythmic identity of 'Friss', Beste Hira is
able to weather the far off atmospheres while maintaining an emphasized
festivity. Combining the best of groove-focused club music with a touch of
niche psychedelia, Rill and SIDE B prove that techno is very much alive no

Leroy Burgess had already left a
huge mark on Black American music by the time the 80s rolled around thanks to
his part in Black Ivory alongside Patrick Adams, but he was about to hit on a
purple patch of productivity scattered with one-shot gems like Convertion.
The project was a family affair featuring the likes of his adopted brother
James Calloway on bass, his cousin Sonny T. Davenport on drums and his
sisters Renee J.J. Burgess and Dorothy Terrell on backing vocals. The lead
track they recorded, 'Let's Do It', is a prime slice from 1981, in the years
of transition from disco to boogies and it sounds as great as it did back
then. The original B-side of the split release, a mellow ballad by Four
Flights entitled 'All I Want Is You', is present and correct on this reissue
from Demon Singles Club too |

Orange Street, Kingston, Jamaica around 1966, the same time that an extreme
heat wave hit the Jamaican Island. Some say the previous jerky ska rhythms
proved too strenuous of an activity to partake in during the all night sound
systems, so it proved a winning formula to slow the beat down to a more
leisurely pace. Whatever the reasons were, this two-year period that ran
until 1968 would see some of the power escape from the big three producers --
Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, Prince Buster, and Duke Reid -- who up to
that period ruled the airwaves. It was time to make room for a new wave of
up-and-coming producers who also had something to offer the people. So sit

Tomiie Releases New Album ‘Magic Hour‘ on his own Abstract Architecture
Imprint. The long playing marks his 3rd, and first solo album release since
‘New Day’ in 2015. Over the past three years, Tomiie has dedicated himself to
crafting the music on ‘Magic Hour’. Drawing inspiration from various sources,
he has created a collection of tracks that showcase his evolution as an
artist. With multiple releases during this period, Tomiie has honed his sound
and refined his artistic vision. The first single from the album, titled
‘Echos Cosmiques‘, was released in early 2023 to critical acclaim. It served
as a taste of what was to come, generating anticipation and excitement for
the full album release. One of the standout tracks is the title tune, ‘Magic
Hour‘, which features Kuniyuki Takahashi on live percussion. The
collaboration between Tomiie and Takahashi adds an organic and vibrant
element to the album. Tomiie’s previous release under the moniker Sato,
‘Blue, Black and Grey‘ (Chapelle XIV Music / 2022), showcased his
interpretations and realizations influenced by dub and ambient music. This
album served as a fantastic introduction to the musical journey that ‘Magic

Casalino (aka Roaring Mosquitoes) highlights two aesthetically and
rhythmically similar approaches, albeit with different roots and
inspirations. "You Aren't With Me" has the merit of not wanting to
reinvent the genre, but exploits the familiarity of pop-dance forms,
obtaining an immediate catchiness. The piece stands out for its linearity
while reworking melodic mechanisms typical of the 80s new wave: short
instrumental intro, well-defined verse-chorus, obsessive repetition of
melodic hooks that make it an immediate and "dragging" song on the
dance floor. The arrangement focuses on a solid electronic drum groove,
sinuous basslines, clean guitar riffs, "cutting" keyboards and the
use of the chorus typical of the Italo Disco of those years. Some passages
recall the melodic line and rhythmic progression of "Tonight... Crazy
Night", an intriguing song that the Canadian artist Dorine Hollier
created in 1984 at the Titania Studios in Rome with Pierluigi Giombini. Even
with "Ah Ah Ah Ah" which features a vibrant and cheerful sound
there's a playful use of citation for some idea that Diego Pepe took from a
Micky & Joyce track. It evokes the "space disco" spirit of
Jean-Pierre Massiera and the influence of the French scene of 1979:
polyphonic synthetic strings, echo effects on electronic hi-hats and a
vaguely futuristic atmosphere, but with an even more captivating sound
revitalized with more scratchy modern touches and compressed basslines. A mix
of vintage and contemporary that enhance its charm." |

repress. Italian artist Raffaele Attanasio kicks off the New Year for Mutual
Rytm with his superb 'South Signatures' EP, channelling multiple techno
styles into one potent package. Landing as Raffaele Attanasio's second outing
on SHDW's Mutual Rytm label, following his incredible debut 'Quasar' and
recent appearance on the third instalment of the label's Federation Of Rytm
compilation, the EP is a showcase of an exciting artist with a new school
take on techno while bringing real respect for the roots of his sound. He has
played live on stage with the legendary Jeff Mills, and is involved in
several other musical projects in different genres but reserves his finest
techno for his own name. 'Madrigal' opens the EP, with Attanasio crafting an
apocalyptic anthem composed of one sound, the Nord Wave 2 synthesizer and a
pumping groove. It is pure dance floor heat with unrelenting drums that lock
in the crowd. The brilliant 'Heat' then brings tribalism, with a powerful
rolling groove peppered with chord stabs that bring it to life. 'Aogiri Tree'
features rousing drums that emerge from the undergrowth and accompany the
macabre lead synth. Its mischievous notes hint at hidden danger and keep you
on your toes. Keeping the energy high, 'Stratford Fog' delivers a battle
between drums and the constantly pulsing bass. Edgy chord stabs and raw
percussion make for a breathtaking groove that never lets up and keeps you
utterly engaged. The title track is a laser-focused production that harks
back to the golden age of Neapolitan techno with a perfectly designed groove,
before digital bonus 'Eleven' brings hints of stylish Detroit techno with its

marking a full label debut from Sonic Propaganda with their 'Native' EP.
Sonic Propaganda comes from the collaborative minds of Earwax and Rosati, a
pair who favour dark and intense techno sounds and take inspiration from Jeff
Mills and Robert Hood. In the studio, they blend analog and digital
technologies into smoky warehouse atmospheres and immersive journeys that
connect with listeners on an emotive level, and this full EP lands following
their contribution to the third instalment of the Mutual Rytm's Federation Of
Rytm compilation series in February. The powerful 'Native' opens up at high
speed with tightly coiled drum loops that never let up. Sleek metal
percussive sounds peel off the grooves and lock listeners into a perfect
state of hypnosis. 'Soul Pressure' is just as absorbing, with a tense
bassline keeping you on edge as the train-like drums march under incendiary
hi-hat ringlets. There is plenty of perfect machine funk to 'Terminal', which
has more rusty synth textures and chopped-up vocal fragments humanising the
turbulent grooves. 'Basic Path' brings an extra skip to the kicks as they
enter, scuffed up and flowing just above the groove, while vocal pulses and
twitchy synth modulations bring the detail. 'Body Empire' closes the vinyl
package with a deeper vibe and pensive synths that add warmth and soul to the

new collaborations follow the mesmerising 'Dissolve In the Rain' in 2022
where Calibre leaned into the blues of Chelou. Belfast-born Dominick Martin
has spent the last 30 years creating. With over 100 Singles and 25 albums,
encompassing a myriad of tempos and genres. Painter, Multi-instrumentalist,
singer, writer, producer and DJ. Chelou is the moniker of London-based artist
Adam Gray, a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer known for
his psychedelic blend of folk, blues, and indie electronics. Raised in Camden
and influenced by a musically rich environment, Chelou developed a
reverb-soaked, dreamlike sound that combines minimal vocals, distorted
guitar, ambient textures, and offbeat lyricism. His name, "Chelou,"
is French slang for "bizarre" or "strange," reflecting
his enigmatic and unconventional identity. He emerged in 2014 with the DIY EP
The Quiet, gaining early support from BBC Radio 6 Music DJs like Lauren
Laverne and Tom Ravenscroft. Tracks like "Halfway to Nowhere,"
"Out of Sight," and "Garden" drew attention for their
raw, intimate tone and distinctive visual accompaniments. His debut album Out

Amsterdam
via Wales DJ & producer Maroki unveils a darker, more eccentric side to
his productions, this time opting for four bass heavy, left-leaning cuts of
idiosyncratic dance-floor experimentation on LTFIRE. Nestled amongst the
trees along the river lJ, Maroki is surrounded by influence, from the city's
bustling streets to the tranquility of nature's boundless beauty; Maroki's
work walks the tight-tope between these two spaces, a place where machines
and human complexity meet. 'Pots & Pans & Handstands' opens up the
A-Side with a highoctane journey, meshing breaks and shape-shifting bass with
hoovering pads that sound like landing UFOs. 'Hasnoot' continues this
menacing theme, providing an immersive experience that feels compulsive and
raw. Yet, there's elements of fun and flashes of colour, adding to the almost
audio visual vibe Maroki can create. The B side opens with 'Boiler' a
nocturnal groove that sways ominously in the wind; If the UFOs were landing
on the records A side, this is the soundtrack to their dystopian future.
Maroki completes his metamorphosis with 'San Andras', visuals of large spaces
with high concrete ceilings come to mind, where the track's mechanics can
thrive, reverberating beautifully amongst the looming shadows of dancers |

Plying
refracted rhythms with an exacting poise, Aerae arrives on Samurai Music with
a fully formed sound that plumbs the depths between techno immersion and
D&B beat science. An accomplished, palpable tension runs throughout
Nefanda, Aerae's second solo release. Following up on the meditative pulse of
her debut album on Annulled Music last year, the Paris-based artist digs
deeper into ominous atmospheres filled with evocative reverb decays and taut,
dynamic drum work - tools she wields to Redner tracks with specific meaning,
coded by the Latin framing that runs through all aspects of her musical
output. Contemplating the ancient language as an inescapable part of her
European roots, on Nefanda Aerae ruminates on external trials and inner
impulses, and conjures a jaw-clenching soundtrack to match. 'Mons'
(translation: 'Mountain') speaks to challenges, strength and spiritual
ascent, marked out by an urgent thrum of conga slaps and a 4/4 kick around
the 170 BPM mark that finds power in minimalism even at the relatively high
tempo. The title track opts for a more broken framework, pivoting pointed
percussion around a deft sub pulse while turning up the intensity with an
exacting poise. 'Nefanda' translates as 'unspeakable,' or 'too horrific to
name,' and the fraught, synthetic wraiths contorting through the track convey
the dread the title implies. 'Fovea' (translation: 'pit') burrows deeper into
spatial design with a looming low end rumble and subliminal sound sculpture,
shaping out a dark, introspective chasm tipped towards disassociation. It's a
powerful statement in any setting, but the all-consuming bass feels
especially crafted for full, physical sound system immersion. 'Phrenesis'
(translation: 'frenzy') rounds the EP out in fierce form, building up a
high-pressure arrangement from ambient beginnings with ruthless control.
There's a sense of duality in motion between half-time and double-time
rhythmic elements, every incremental shift adding to the intensity of the
track with the elegant, impactful touch that has fast become Aerae's calling
card. Finding her own language within the dialogue between techno, D&B
and dark ambient, Aerae's music makes a vivid impression thanks to the ideas
and intention that drive her in the studio. Nefanda confirms her status as a
leading light in deep, psychedelic dance music, making something extremely
personal that also reaches out beyond notions of the self like all the best
transcendental music |

label. Known as the head of Warok Music, Clotur makes his debut on Sublunar
with "Retro Reverie", a uniquely diverse EP that showcases his
impressive creativity and his ability to move across different shades of
techno with ease and personality. The journey begins with "Glitch
Parade", an eccentric yet infectious track driven by a captivating
groove that immediately pulls you in. "Dataline" follows, offering
a sleek balance between minimalism and modern textures while maintaining a
distinct identity. On the B-side, "Ghost Transmission" delivers a
sultry bassline and seductive vocal elements that infuse the track with a
warm, groovy atmosphere. "Patala" brings an old-school flavor into
the mix, standing out with its refreshing and instantly recognizable
character. The closing track "Retro Reverie" lives up to its name:
hypnotic and epic, with celestial soundscapes and an evocative vocal that
