NYC
based singer, multi instrumentalist and prolific producer Heidi Sabertooth
brings her experimental and grungy sound to the fore, with a fierce EP
examining the grainiest textures in dance music. It's been over three years
since she brought her unique brand of raw techno to the underground, and now
Heidi deepens her relationship between art and modern-day living in a blend
of controlled chaos. Opening track 'Screaming Into The Abyss' does exactly
that, with its use of muddled voices and melancholic allure, glued loosely
together with vintage acid and the producer's deep love of hardware. There's
a playfulness to follow up 'Slide Into My DM', Heidi's elements seemingly
communicating telepathically in a game of mutant-chess. Grooves and
otherworldly dynamics flux and spill while splashes of reverb make it
anything but predictable. B side opener 'Pissed' maintains this raw
aesthetic, sounding both mechanical and free-flowing with its foreboding
melodies, melting between heavy bass and screeching pads; remaining
functional but full of beautiful, unconventional touches. The record comes to
a close with title track 'Insane In The Cat Brain' a disorientated affair
encapsulating the restlessness and uncertainty of our times, spearheaded by
an artist never afraid to take risks |

Rising
St Petersburg producer Meowsn purrs onto ROOB for the Running Out Of Steam
sub-labels inaugural release, bringing the producer's trademark choppy
hip-hop, sleazy hip-house and nostalgic radiance on a killer debut. There's a
free jazz spirit that flows through CATMOUSEGAME2; the dusty smell of an
underground speakeasy can almost be felt on the EPs opener - 'DrunkCat' - a
bouncing cut of NYC influenced hip hop that inspires images of large concrete
buildings and greetings on the street. Appropriately named, this might be
what those jazz-cats in Aristocats would be making had the movie not been for
children. The subterranean spirit of hip hop is alive still on 'Wistleman';
an improvised jazz cut that is simple and effective, before heads begin bopping
with a little more conviction on the low-swing and vibrant soul of 'Ganksta';
infectious hip-house that can't help but be moved to. The A-side completes
with an alternative listening experience; subdued and experimental it
encapsulates the energy of a lowly-lit after hours joint, before the
dub-peppered vibes and let-go-for-a-walk basslines of 'Cashflow' invite you
back to the dancefloor, 'Ladies You Know' maintaining that same
scratch-influenced nostalgia that just feels oh so warm. Rounding off the
B-side is 'Winter Swapping'; cold winds whip up a storm as snowflakes slowly
invade the windows while we're wrapped up warm and cosy inside with phat

In
what's been a stand out year for the Berlin based, London born, DJ &
producer, Amy Dabbs has dropped releases on Lobster Theremin, launched her
own label 'Dabbs Traxx' and collaborated with junglist Coco Bryce on new
label project 'LT CODA'. With a distinguished sound and undeniable flair,
both behind the booth and in the studio, Amy's brand of classic house and
radiant jungle now comes to Low Battery with her 'Baddest Gal' EP. 'Don't Go'
opens the EP with shimmering synths and lighter than air percussion. The mood
is light and understated, conjuring warm and affectionate emotions without
the need for amplified design. 'No You' then welcomes us with mid-summer
melodies and sprawling pads; vocal loops adding to that feeling of fuzziness
and warmth. The B side opens with title track 'Baddest Gal' an emotional
percussive workout that combines thoughtful arrangement with euphoric and
dreamy notes. It's one of those tracks that could work just as well in a DJ
set or cloud watching as the world slowly drifts by. 'Your Move', The
record's finale shows a different side to Amy's dynamic productions; the
track ebbs and flows and could be likened to the mixed emotions of meeting an
old friend: Excited but nervous, happy but always with a heartheavy goodbye |

Madison,
Wisconsin producer Sam Link exploded onto the breaks circuit with his debut
EP on Prague-based record label YUKU - exploring classic underground jungle
and juke templates and stretching them into new and distinct formats - and
now the emerging artist readies four varied cuts of stylish, club-ready
breakbeats and bass on Low Battery. With one gun-finger fixated on the past
and the other firmly pointing to the future, Sam implements a unique form of
production within his work. Holding down a full-time job as an artist is
never easy, so Sam now works in 20-30 minute bursts, capturing the creative
spurts and happy accidents, and allowing space between creation to allow
ideas to breathe. Ragga-tipped jungle at break-neck pace kicks things off on
'The Breath'; a cut of vortex-breakbeats that strikes a fine balance between
meditative and energetic, like all great ragga-inspired cuts should. 'Uproar'
lowers the tempo slightly in favour of stretching basslines, underwater-wubs
and murky atmospherics on a growling cut of breaks that transatlantically
shatters over the UK-sound. 'Chance' puts the emphasis on 'less is more'.
Stripped-back percussion, nature-atmospherics and hefty low-end bass
vibrations combine on a minimal jungle cut designed to vibe in the rave,
before Teklife and Cosmic Bridge affiliate A.Fruit rounds out the release
with a stuttering breakbeat-footwork remix of its predecessor |

Komatsu's powers of mass
construction resurrected a rare desert flower in their fourth album
"Rose of Jericho". Light meets heavy and desolation meets beauty in
the 9 powerful songs that make up this album. "Rose of Jericho"
combines a lyrical depth that resonates the current (political) rabbit holes
with dark, groovy, warm riffs supporting rugged vocals. The sound of the
album is a real mixture between Stoner and Metal, but with melodic and choral

Criminali can be considered one of the most important experiences in Italian
Post Avant garde theatre of the -70s and the '80s. Back in 1980 the group
gave birth to one their widely acclaimed and most representative works.
Crollo Nervoso was a real Post Modern Opera, a complex and multi layered work
based on the transfer between different Art languages and aesthetics. A deep
mixture of Avant Rock, Burroughs's Cut Up, science fiction, body art, glamour
and a hint of porno. On stage actors move obsessively and creating some
highly repetitive sequences that show a clear "Rock" approach.
Musically we are in front of a great hybrid where electronics, tribal funk,
ambient and Blues interact with actors excited voices and "stolen"
fragments from the musical works of Eno, Fripp, Jon Hassell, Miles Davis and
others. More than a Pre/Plunderphonics kind of work, Crollo Nervoso is a
definitive re-invention of the soundtrack concept in relation with text and
drama. Originally released in 1980 (on black or white vinyl) by Italian
Records, Crollo Nervoso stands as a unique sound art object that finally sees
the light again in all its multisensory eclecticism |

The
Kotiomkin were born in 2012 from the idea of Enzo P. Zeder to compose
soundtracks for imaginary films of which he himself is the author. The group
is inspired by the great masters of Italian soundtracks of the 60s & 70s
& 80s filtering everything through a wall of eclecticism, distortion, low
frequencies and vibrations. Buffalmacco and Fra- Tazio wake up in Hell, in
the Circle of the Lustful. In this bad beginning, the two cronies begin to
tell each other their latest vicissitudes, in order to remember what brought
them to eat those strangely bitter apricots... The fate of a nun seems to
join the two damned souls. She hanged herself for shame in the cloister of
the convent. But the woman-s father does not accept his loss and, overcome by
sorrow, evokes an infernal Fiend and puts his trust in Him. Among ancient
rites, lustful violences, unholy events and dreadful misfortunes takes place
this dark Renaissance story where Desperate Revenge feasts with Iglorious
Death! For the composition of their third work "Lo Albicocco Al Curaro -
Decameron 666" (Subsound Records, 2018) there was a change of line up
and the guitar was replaced by a massive use of vintage analogic synthesizers
giving life to an album that crosses, transversally, different musical genres
with an ever more relevant cinematographic imprint |

Ruin possessed a fierce insistence on being present in the
moment. They were intent not on simply beating themselves against the
membranes that contain them but on breaking the fuck through. Originally
active from 1982 to 1986, this five/piece unit was sometimes mistakenly
described to the unaware as a "Buddhist hardcore band." Along with
a few singles and compilations, they released two albums> the definitive
blast of 1984's He/Ho and the somewhat more polished Fiat Lux in 1986. This

Suburban
Architecture are pleased to announce the sixth instalment in their
'Architecture Dubs' series of limited edition 10" vinyl releases. While
previous editions have seen some of the most revered names active during the
mid 90s golden era of Drum & Bass deliver remixes of Suburban
Architecture material, this final release from the series sees the remix
duties handled by the duo themselves. Following on from the now sold out
release of Architecture Dub #001 to #005 (featuring remixes from Peshay,
Blame, Nookie, Ray Keith and 4Hero among others), edition #006 features a
pair of VIP versions, previously only heard in Suburban Architecture DJ sets.
The A-Side features a rework of the track that started it all, 'Visions '96',
the title cut from the duo's 2019 debut EP. The familiar pitched Rhodes pads,
ominous vocals and intricately chopped Apache breaks of the original are all
present, but new layers of atmospherics, tougher drum programming and a full,
deep bass all serve to elevate the track in this 2025 rework. On the flip,
'Future Jazz '95', originally featured on the duo's 2020 sophomore EP
'Alternative Futures', gets a musical rework. Maintaining much of the
structure of the popular original, the original vocals and some of the drums remain
while, Rhodes, Bass, Atmospherics and more are all replaced, delivering a cut
which manages to feature largely new material while retaining the feel of the
original. Pressed on 10" vinyl and housed in brown Kraft paper sleeves,
the series makes visual reference to the exclusive dubplate pressings which
introduced so many classic cuts to the UK's dancefloors in the 90s |

techno force Alarico makes a striking debut on KEY Vinyl with 'Sweaty
Techniques', a seven-track LP that encapsulates his signature style:
groove-centric, stomping and irresistibly danceable. Known for his prolific
output, the Berlin-based artist delivers a fast-paced and energetic sound,
interwoven by the thematic thread of the whole release: a sweaty encounter.
From the opening pulse of 'Cradle to the Grave', rhythm takes center
stage-percussion-driven and primed for peak-time occasions. Snipped vocals
and bouncy baselines carve out some sort of hypnotic patterns, while deep,
rolling low ends keep the momentum locked in. Gritty textures collide with
fragmented modulations, twisting into distorted, high-energy productions.
Across the LP, tightly coiled bleeps and moaning snippets emerge, lending a
sinister yet seductive edge. Then there's 'Dammelo'-Italian for 'give it to
me'-which subsumes the album's thematic essence into pure physicality,
embracing its vocal motif with a knowing smirk. As the record progresses,
Alarico shifts between functional, stripped-back rhythms and more
tension-driven moments, culminating in 'Touch My Heart', where sharper drum
programming meets hypnotic vocal loops. Closing on a high, 'Jamira'
encapsulates the album's crisp percussive edge, rounding off a release that
is as relentless as it is intoxicating. With 'Sweaty Techniques', Alarico
solidifies his place as one of techno's most electrifying new voices-an LP
made of steel, but definitely built to move |

techno talent Regent channels his signature depth and drive into a new outing
for MALoR Records. With each release since his inception in 2020, he
demonstrates the versatility of his sound and his ability to convey profound
narratives across a spectrum of techno sub styles. After contributing a
standout track to the label's Purveyors Of The Groove Vol. 3 compilation in
2023, he now returns with a highly cerebral yet anthemic and dance
floor-destined 5-tracker EP: Cratea. The A-side kicks off with the EP's
standout cut, 'Refiction', a sinister, forward-marching piece laced with
spooky, psychedelic vocals and dripping in LFOs and mind-boggling
soundscapes. It's followed by the title track 'Cratea', shaped by steady
bleeps and an evolving, echo-drenched synth that bounces erratically from
start to finish, driven forward by thick claps and floaty rides. On the flip,
'Origins' delivers a steady, hypnotic tool built on organic bass sounds,
gnarly percussion, and wet vocal chops, peaking with four-to-the-floor claps
that are sure to lock in a busy dance floor. 'Null Model' follows with a
signature Regent groove, fusing driving 909 drums with a clever interplay of
short synth stabs and warped-out voices, resulting in a deeply trippy, almost
paranoid atmosphere. Closing the record is 'Stealthless', a stripped-back yet
uplifting techno tool, offering moments of synth euphoria and harmony while
remaining deliberately restrained and minimal by design. A versatile release
made for different moments in the night, designed to guide dance floors
through profound, body-moving journeys. Best served on powerful sound-systems |
