This
is the definitive reissue of the long out of print first album from Italian
experimental rock band La 1919. Originally released in 1987 by ADN, the
Italian Recommended Records branch, Ars srA was an early example of a long
distance collaboration album as result of a virtuosic exchange of tapes
between the Milan based duo and the legendary American guitarist Henry Kaiser
and Canadian maverick sound artist John Oswald. The resulting music sounds
like a perfect blend of '70s Art Rock elements and '80s electronics. An
eclectic mix of "Frith" oriented guitars, cold synthetic sounds and
programmed drum machine beats. Some sort of sonic no man's land where
elements from the Post Rock in Opposition aesthetic meet the experimental
side of New Wave. The album includes a declared tribute to the Frith Laswell
Maher seminal coalition, via a metronomic version of "Killing
Time", the title track from Massacre's first album. The LP comes with
updated graphics and contents including unpublished pictures and various
memorabilia + CD with extra tracks. In few words, Highly recommended! |

Hacía
tiempo que no disfrutaba de un disco de la familia Carter pero, a tenor de
los resultados en "Exile"?, la espera a merecido la pena.
"Exile" es un disco que aunque atemporal y maravilloso, presenta
similitudes con el presente de Richard Youngs y su último largo
"Amplifying Ghost". En polos opuestos geográficamente, los Carter
desde Houston y Youngs desde Cambridge ,aunque afincado en Glasgow( donde
también reside Heather Leigh,parte de Charalambides y cuyo último lanzamiento:
"Posing for a New Role" es una delicia), han conseguido mantener un
regusto por el folk desértico de aires Cooder en sus últimos discos,
electrificados y polvorientos.Hay momentos que son indescriptibles como
"Words Inside" y sientes que tu cuerpo se balancea igual que a Neil
Young en "Dead Man",pero obviamente transformado en páramos folk y
donde Christina deja con su voz una lección de minimalismo y de acercamiento
al expresionismo liberado de Tim Buckley. Quizás resulte algo desmesurado
juntar sus nombres con figuras tan esneciales en la historia de la música,
pero aquí me pido el comodín de "la apreciación subjetica de la
música". Para mi Christina Carter es una pieza esencial en la música
norteamericana donde parece que no haya pasado nada más desde Mary Margaret
O'Hara. Miren el gospel psicodélico de "Immovable" para entenderlo
(también lo del toque Cooder). El trio final del disco, ocupa más de media
hora y no tiene desperdicio: "Into the Earth", desparramando
psicodelia folky en su tramo final , pero "Wanted to Walk" es lo
más cercano a Mark Hollis y a Slint en versión folk y el cierre , "Pity
Pity Me" no hace más que reafirmarme en todas las comparaciones
anteriormente realizadas. Me recuerda la voz de Christina a la de Kristin
Hersh en esta canción, mantra que nunca consiguió la buena de Kristin.La
aportación de Christina al piano en este disco, es parte fundamental sin
lugar a dudas |

windswept compositions are impressively lived-in and just as worn, noisy and
evocative as his rhythmic material. At its best, "Transplant
Rejection" sounds like a lost VHS-era B-movie soundtrack - tracks like
'Rip Lota' and 'Believer' act as a sequel to Emeralds and Oneohtrix Point
Never's early synth-led psychedelia". 'Transplant Rejection’ is the work
of Estonian artist and IDA Radio co-founder Robert Nikolajev, this collection
of seven ‘almost’ dark ambient tracks embody the melancholy of autumn whilst
hinting at the forthcoming eternal winter. A man with many hats, Nikolajev
operates on the fringes of the leftfield house underground for labels such as
Incienso, Collect-Call and Sad Fun as well as being one half of the sporadic
DIMA DISK act with Ragnar Rahouja. Eschewing the more rhythmic side of his
productions for this Muscut tape, Nikolajev taps into the fictional
soundtrack atmospheres the label is known for and brings his own brand of
wistful, introspective world-building by way of machine harmony to the now
Tallinn based imprint. There’s a lo-fi, grainy quality running throughout the
collection, a kind of sepia-toned nostalgia that envelops the listener and
disorientates any perception of time or place. Buried vocal fragments sit in
the mix on ‘Stifled’ alongside decaying synthesiser drones whilst ‘DDM’
channels an edgy post-rock dirge with its use of sagged bass guitar. Overall,
an inspired look into the more ‘at home’ side of this increasingly prolific

Having endured no less than three
long-players and a brace of singles featuring the caterwauling of Messrs
Hampshire and Childish, the Milkshakes’ audience figured it might be time for
an instrumental outing. In response the group gave them just that. But this
was to be no run-of-the-mill effort – no Dick Dale-esque surf marathons or
Shadowsy twangers are apparent here. These tunes are more
‘rhythm-and-mood’-based compositions; occasionally leaning more towards the
Link Wray end of the spectrum – as you would probably expect. This IVth album
(hence the name) was recorded in 1983 at Oakwood Studios – as were all
previous releases – but this was the first in their new facilities in a
converted church near Canterbury, which opened up a whole new golden vista of
shimmering, silvery sounds in atmospheric conditions. Of course, the
Milkshakes were having none of that. We suggest you plonk the wax on your

behind dozens of classic movies, Carpenter has established a reputation as
one of the greatest filmmakers in the history of modern cinema, as well as
one of its most influential musicians. The minimal, synthesizer/driven themes
to films like Halloween, Escape From New York, and Assault on Precinct 13 are
as indelible as their images, and their timelessness was evident as Carpenter
performed them live in a string of internationally sold/out concert dates in
2016. @Anthology> Movie Themes 1974/1998@ collects 13 classic themes from
Carpenter-s illustrious career together on one volume for the first time.
Each theme has been newly recorded with the same collaborators that Carpenter
worked with on his hit Lost Themes studio albums> his son, Cody Carpenter,

thirteenth release on the Gladio Operations label bears the signature of the
great Spanish producer Boris Divider. This artist needs no introduction, as
he is considered one of the pioneering producers of the electro scene in
Spain, and active since the 2000s, releasing mainly on his label Drivecom.
After betting in recent years on more experimental and hypnotic sounds close
to IDM, Boris returns to the pulse of the rhythms more rooted to the
dancefloor with this EP titled In Fragments. Undoubtedly, this work brings us
back to the artist?s classic sound, which is reflected in Content Location, a
track that envelops us with arpeggios and firm and forceful bass lines and
well-developed masterful vocoders. The second cut we find is In Fragments,
track that gives title to the EP and that lowers the pulsations to a softer
and more emotional state. The B-side opens with Dynamic Algorithm, where we
get back to our dancing posture and enter dark territories, ready to explore
a dynamic of sequences brimming with intrigue and suspense. We continue with
Fragmented, where the Spanish artist delves into a journey of ambient sounds,
with certain tensions in some passages. The EP closes with Memories of Us,

Leeds Bleep-techno royalty Ability II aka David Duncan has been
on the Wrecks radar for a few years now, the unison dating back to Luca
Lozano's remix of his evergreen anthem 'Pressure' in 2017. Since the remix
the communication has stayed open and talks of a collaboration started,
linking generations old and new. That collaboration, recorded over a couple
of years and a couple of studios, results in WRECKS057 'My Definition of
Bass'. Four tracks split into two sides, the WRECKS side is taken care of by
Lozano and long time collaborator and friend DJ Steve. The two producers live
jammed sketches, recorded the sessions and then incorporated original vocals
by Ability II, churning out acid wiggles and jacking drum tracks. Ability
then took these versions and then dubbed them out in his crossover style for
the I9M side, resulting in two steppers made for the strictly for the
bassbins. Echoing vocal layers and new instrumentation takes them out of the
usual 'wrecks wrealm' and into new, dubbier territories |

The
year is 1989 and it's the peak of the Belgium New Beat craze. Not limited to
records and clubs, the New Beat lifestyle was marketed to death with all
sorts of fashion items, a plethora of accessories, and at least one erotic
movie. Fast forward a few decades. In the middle of nowhere, Switzerland,
tucked inside a long-forgotten video store that closed its doors in 1999 and
sat untouched for 20 years, we stumbled upon a strange treasure amongst tons
of VHS hidden in the adult section. A mysterious VHS labeled "Erotiques
New Beat." What we found was pure 1989 Belgian erotica-low budget,
fog-drenched, and neon-soaked. Minimalist sets. Girls in PVC. Flashing
lights. Mirrors. Fog machines. Loud colors. It was erotic, sure-but also
oddly sweet, almost innocent in its surreal, lo-fi dreaminess. And then came
the soundtrack. That's what really floored us. A collection of New Beat gems,
raw, simple, irresistible. Somehow, it captured the full spectrum of the
genre: 100-110 bpm grooves with shades of EBM, sleazy coldwave rhythms,
sensual synths, proto-Goa pulses, monk choirs, oriental melodies, and a
healthy dose of movie samples. It felt alive. Timeless. Utterly perfect. We
had to know more. We dug, tracked down the source, and in 2020, reissued the
soundtrack on vinyl. It sold out fast. Now, five years later, we thought
about pressing one final batch. A special edition on picture disc, featuring

Withdrawals, He wanted to channel the emotions that often come from the
struggle between desire and self-preservation, between the drive to connect
and the need to retreat. he's journey, both as an artist and as an
individual, has been filled with moments of intense reflection,
self-discovery, and sometimes, disconnection. These tracks are the
culmination of that inner conflict, a raw exploration of what it means to
both lose oneself and find a deeper, often painful, form of clarity. Like the
music he's created before, the sound of Withdrawals speaks to the space
between tension and release, the liminal space where truth is often revealed
in its most vulnerable form. He's always believed that music is a mirror to
the soul, and in this EP, He's tried to reflect that feeling of being both
pulled in and out of something greater. It's a raw and intimate look at the
way we navigate modern life, often feeling like we're running toward

In 2011 Kevin Saunderson, Ann Saunderson and Paris Grey,
collectively known as the legendary band Inner City, released ‘Future’, their
first entirely new material since taking a break in 1996, written and
produced in collaboration with another Detroit legend, namely Kenny Larkin,
and the very talented producer / remixer Orlando Voorn. The track marked a
welcome return for a group that combined the tough, futuristic grooves of the
Detroit scene with the vocal energy of R&B and gospel and helped to define
the period in which house and techno moved from underground phenomena to top
10 material, paving the way for hundreds of dance hits to come. The Kenny
Larkin remix devastated dancefloors at the time and continues to do so over
10 years since its release. Now fully reissued backed with the Carl Craig
edit from the original pressing and the MK AW Deep Dub which had previously

show their diversity in an impressive manner. A vibrant record with a very
positive aura, which makes you want to dance with a smile. Minimalistic and
clearly arranged, showing each element's full potential. Unfolding dance
music's power with no distraction. "Ay" is all about its
irresistible groove, which is smooth but yet punchy. A compelling opener
which reminds Leftfield House. "Randseiter" is an intriguing Techno
track balancing stomping EBM rhythm and playful syncopic melody patterns.
With "Sie Lacht" we turn to a cheerful and uplifting combination of
subtle Jungle rhythms, prominent bass and quirky lead, undoubtedly
referencing UK Bass music. If you're out for some rumble you'll find it in
JANEIN's remix of "Ay". Despite its Industrial darkness it's not
too shy to implement melodic parts. A haunting mix of pumping kick and funky
stab sequences. There isn't really a box for Danny Daze's remix of "Sie
Lacht". This digital bonus track is full of creative surprises.
