push the songs to the edge. Sally's singing is manic, with very introspective
lyrics, with a constant sense of hopelessness permeating through the entire
record. Bringing to mind the almighty G.R.B. on the vocal and lyrical
approach. Musically LAME is part CHAIN REACTION part the first D.I.R.T. EP,
with hints of Midwest HC and Mediterranean Modern Punk. With a very driven
bass, chainsaw guitar heavy on the fuzz tone and a very imaginative drummer.
Without shadow of a doubt, this record fits right in with other Nuevo Sonido
Balear greats |

mark three decades of Classic, this special edition double vinyl comes housed
in a raw reverse board sleeve, calling back to the very first ‘Season’s’
release on the label. The inner sleeves feature stunning orange and pink
GMUND card stock, complete with embossed detailing—a tactile nod to Classic’s
design-led legacy and attention to craft. Volume 1 of the 3-part compilation
series dives into Classic’s most cherished moments—spanning both foundational
tracks from the label’s early years and key highlights from its post-2011
rebirth. Record One celebrates some of the first outings of Classic's
original era.? It opens with Matthew Herbert’s sought-after 1996 cut ‘Got To
Be Movin’—a raw, Chicago-inspired groover that captures the sound of
Classic’s roots. Also featured is the monumental ‘Somewhere Between Distance
and the Impossible’ by Chris Nazuka (of Rednail Kidz with Derrick Carter), a
1997 masterpiece steeped in atmosphere and widely regarded as one of the
label's most transcendental releases. Flip to Side B for Blaze’s legendary
‘Lovelee Dae’, remixed into a club ready, ethereal dreamscape by Jon Marsh of
The Beloved. To finish we have Gemini’s hypnotic ‘In My Head’, transformed by
prolific remixers on Classic - Freaks (Luke Solomon & Justin Harris) into
a dubbed-out vocal trip that oozes character. Record Two picks up the story
with Classic’s reawakening in 2011. ?Seven Davis Jr’s ‘The One’ (Live Edit)
was the track that caught Luke Solomon’s ear, paving the way for his Friends
EP and long-standing connection with the label. Red Rack’em’s infectious and
eccentric ‘Wonky Bassline Disco Banger’ found its perfect home on Classic in
2016, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about records of the year. Then
there’s Eli Escobar’s ‘Happiness Pt. 2’—a rich, emotive standout from his
Classic album work, showcasing his skill at blending deep grooves with raw
soul. Rounding out the release is the iconic ‘Play the Game’ by Kenny Hawkes
& Louise Carver. A pillar of UK house history, this essential track was
reissued in 2019 with a powerful remix from his best buddy’s The Space

We're
proud to unveil the band's 2nd LP. The London skiffle kings have further
developed their sound to include New Orleans R&B, soul and dub! Read on
for the story so far! Severed Limb - An Amputated History Severed Limb began
life as a punk skiffle trio, recording a cassette in the cellar of drummer
Charlie Michael's south London pub in 2008. With Bobby Paul on guitar/vocals
and Charlie's half brother Leo Lewis on washboard they began gigging in South
London pubs. With no actual bass player they asked members of the audience to
fill in on tea-chest bass. After a few gigs the band were invited to support
rockabilly star Imelda May at Bush Hall and later at Koko, Camden. They
recruited bass player Colin Young and guitarists Jimmy Curry and Sam Soper
(who'd produced the cassette together) to play at the gigs.
Accordionist/illustrator Alex Barrow was recruited in 2009 and the band
recorded a CD on Imelda May's imprint. Unhappy with the results the band set
about recording a DIY EP in Bobby's living room in Elephant and Castle. With
double bass player Simon Mitchell replacing Colin Young they started busking
heavily and diversifying their sound to include elements of cumbia, garage
and R&B. They self-released the EP OO EEE HA HA!' on vinyl only and it
quickly gained the attention of Steve Lamacq at BBC Radio 6 music who invited
them to record a live session at the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios.
Sticking with the vinyl only format, the band released a 7" single
('Take You Out') and another EP ('The Shake Up'). Along with Steve Lamacq,
Mark Radcliffe started championing the band on Radio 2, Gideon Coe got behind
them, John Kennedy at XFM and even Andrew Weatherall. In May 2012 Severed
Limb played to a full house at the Royal Albert Hall opening for Imelda May.
Later that year dance music pioneers Hot Chip named them in their "dream
festival lineup" alongside Kraftwerk and Aphex Twin. Compiling together
the best tracks from the EPs along with eight new tracks Severed Limb released
their debut proper in early 2013. Kill You and Bill You the Price of the
Bullet cemented their identity as a roots and punk outfit with a Clash-like
diversity and curiosity for global sounds. Severed Limb recorded their second
album at Marco Nelson's all analogue Studio 65 in Brixton Hill throughout
2014. Known for his work with Primal Scream, Paul Weller and Young Disciples,
Marco brought tight arrangements and unique production to the album. The band
further developed their influences to include New Orleans R&B, soul and

Celebrated
DJ, producer, and sonic explorer Auntie Flo (aka Brian d’Souza) — described
by The Guardian as “one of global club culture’s most vital voices” — returns
this autumn with ‘Birds of Paradise’: a rhythmically rich, emotionally
resonant, and ecologically grounded new album, out 23 October via his A State
of Flo imprint. The album will be launched with a special live show at
London’s Jazz Caféon the same day. ‘Birds of Paradise’ draws on d’Souza’s
global club experience while deepening his connection with the natural world.
Built around classic Roland drum machines and iconic vintage synths, the
record is a joyful, body-driven celebration of rhythm and movement, but one
grounded in ecology and place. The album’s spiritual centre lies in Saligao,
Goa, near d’Souza’s maternal homeland where his Auntie Florie (where the name
is derived from) is buried. Where he found his ‘paradise’ nearby, staying in
a converted fisherman’s hut and recorded dawn choruses from a riverside
studio overlooking mangrove-lined waters. Environmental textures from Japan
also make their way into the music, creating a sonic map rooted in lived
experience. “Birds of Paradise is about finding beauty and rhythm in a
chaotic world. It’s about listening, to nature, to our bodies, to what’s
real. It’s a reminder that dance music can be both joyful and grounded.” The
album blends Afro-Latin polyrhythms with Western 4/4 patterns, fusing
instinctive, dancefloor energy with field recordings that anchor the music in
the earth. Described by d’Souza as “tropical with a few deeper edges, a
balance of light and dark.” The new record follows the acclaimed ‘In My
Dreams, I’m A Bird and I’m Free’, which earned 4 stars and Global Album of
the Month from The Guardian, featured in Disco Pogo’s Albums of the Year, and
received support from Luke Una, Resident Advisor, Juno, Bandcamp, Mixmag, DJ
Mag, Electronic Sound, The Skinny, Beatport, Ban Ban Ton Ton, and more. The
album’s launch show at Omeara London sold out. Other recent projects include
the ‘Outernational Dance’ EP on cult label Multi Culti, event series ‘Plants
Can Dance (and Mushroom’s Sing)’ which explore plant and fungi bioelectricity
as a means of live composition, and ‘Black Beacon’, a haunting cassette
release and soundwalk series recorded on the abandoned military island of
Orford Ness. There, d’Souza explored the eerie intersection of nature, decay,
and deep time, gaining special access to restricted buildings to capture
long-form soundscape compositions. Alongside his production work, d’Souza has
emerged as a leading voice at the intersection of sound and science. He
curated music for Imperial College’s groundbreaking psychedelic therapy
trials, developing six-phase playlists to guide participants through
psilocybin-assisted sessions treating conditions such as fibromyalgia and
gambling addiction. His five-hour ambient set at Watching Trees Festival,
selected as Resident Advisor’s Mix of the Day, continued this exploration
into the therapeutic potential of sound in altered states. He also spent six
months collaborating with BBC producer Tom Raine on a documentary for BBC
World Service, centred on a two-week journey through Kenya and Goa. There, he
performed live, led plant music workshops, and joined a deep listening retreat
rooted in field recording. “I realised my studio isn’t just four soundproofed
walls filled with instruments — it’s the journey itself. It’s the people I
meet, the natural world I listen to, and the connections I feel.” This same
commitment to deep listening fuels his live concept Plants Can Dance, a
project that combines the biosonification of plants and fungi with modular
synthesis. The next event, on 14 September at Hideout Hackney Wick, will
feature performances by Stella Z and Lapalace, with d’Souza and resident
Lamine playing live alongside responsive plants in collaboration with Repot
Hackney Wick and the label Music To Watch Seeds Grow By. “I’ve spent years
exploring how electronic music can connect us, not just to each other, but to
the natural world. Whether it’s translating mushroom data into melody or
capturing birdsong at dawn, it’s about finding resonance across bodies,
ecosystems, and machines.” Rooted in his Goan and Kenyan heritage and shaped
by years of travel and collaboration, d’Souza’s creative mission is simple:
to reconnect the electronic world with the natural one. Through A State of

Following
the reissue of his debut album Dispatches, Field Records is proud to return
to the seminal work of Mike Parker with an overview of his releases on
Prologue — a truly original strain of steely, hypnotic techno that has
touched upon many different waves within the wider scene. Having pioneered a
hard-edged, reductionist style via his Geophone label since the mid-90s,
around 2010 Mike Parker found himself at the vanguard of an emergent sound
alongside artists like Donato Dozzy and Cio D'or exploring the possibilities
of immersive, profoundly transcendental club music. The Prologue label came
to define this cult zeitgeist, where reduction and repetition took on a truly
psychedelic quality and the subtle details made all the difference. It ran
from 2008 to 2015, laying the foundations for the deep techno sound that
remains a vital, evolving subculture in the present moment. From Parker's
first appearance on Prologue with the Subterranean Liquid EP in 2011 through
to the Lustrations LP in 2013, he delivered some of the most incisive music
of his accomplished career — teased-out rhythms carrying exquisitely
engineered textures veering from the subliminal to the visceral, locked into
endless, cyclical oblivion and maintaining a stern, machinist veneer. This
collection on Field Records combs through Parker's Prologue output and makes
a considered selection, gathering key pieces from the first two EPs alongside
six of the album tracks on a triple vinyl pressing, alongside a further eight
cuts on the expanded digital edition. Not just a straight-forward reissue,
consider Epilogue a thoughtful reframing of a key point in Mike Parker's
stellar career. In every exacting pulse, every inch of tacit spatial design,
it's the work of an expert sculpting a sound which remains influential in the

This
4 track EP consists of two tracks by Ospiel and another two by an Ospiel x
Schwefelgelb collab. Sequences moving between accentuated percussion and
dynamic melody loops over a massive basement of cutting beat grids. Conveying
an impression of the reckless brutality of an unstoppable mechanism covered
by a cheerful vibrancy, this release is still shaping up in a palette of
various shades: sustained and soothing in "Provider", groovy and
uplifting in "6-APA", aggressive but playful in "Again"
and uncanny but bouncy in "Bloom". You'll find those cinematic
elements and breaks, which are so typical for Ospiel's sound, as well as the
melodic parts which sound somewhat between organic and synthesized. And
you'll hear Schwefelgelb's rawness and minimalism, which makes each single
sound stand out. Despite a subtle echo of EBM's decay here and there, this
release is moving forward in its very own redirection by adding Hypnotic,
Groovy and Ambient notions to it. Last but not least the sophisticated mixing
and sound design give this release an omnipresent powerful drive.

"The
Happening by Tomorrow Comes The Harvest is the least case, a provocative
confrontation. It's a challenge or dare to the idea that music can be useful
if we are able to experience it. I would imagine that to many, music having
an objective beyond the listener doesn't make sense because the general
thought is that Music is made for us to consume, to make us remember, to
influence us and to make us feel something. The Happening does all those
things but much more. What it does is expand the scope from us to
"it". Creating and constructing music for the subject of existence
is a tall order. The concept of The Happening is about the beginning and the
end of Time and Space; the initial point of when reality starts and its
conclusional apex. In the beginning, there is a great light. And from this
light, comes life. Life is lived until it isn't. This is what The Happening
implies. It speaks about a 9-minute frame in reality, used to emphasize
something that happened a very long time ago, something that happened in its
creation and what will eventually happen far in the future. The Happening was
of an accidental birth. The love child of three musicians (Jeff Mills, Prabhu
Edouard and Jean-Phillippe Dary) who was just asked to play "something"
so that the camera crew could have extra b-roll for all the previous footages
of the band while they were working in the recording studio in the North of
Paris for their album Forbidden Planet. There was no discussion of what
they'll do, no plan, no direction other than to use music to reach a level of
consciousness. Somehow within these transformative 9 minutes, something was
felt by each of them, explored to its furthest point, which lead to this
extraordinary creation. The Happening refers to the life and death of

With
this album, Heleen Van Haegenborgh returns to her roots as a pianist. In
recent years, she has primarily composed works on commission for a diverse
range of ensembles, from recorders to foghorns. On this solo album, her
entire journey of musical encounters and compositions comes together subtly.
Van Haegenborgh doesn't think in terms of stories or boxes, but rather in
colours, energy, and texture - without drifting into the abstract. She
remains true to her personal inside piano world, including the use of wires
she has been experimenting with since 2008. These are given a place here as
fully-fledged musical elements, communicating on different levels, in various
contexts and forms. The electronics sometimes become completely one with the
piano, but often follow an entirely different path: at times calm, subtle and
refined; at other times nervous and under the surface. Always within specific

Best
known for his cinematic jungle excursions, Seb Uncles returns to Livity Sound
for a second extended release of introspective electronics with a strong
influence from mystical sources. As Eusebeia, Uncles has developed a strong,
independent presence in modern electronic music defined by a prolific run of
deep-diving, breakbeat-driven albums and EPs. In 2022 he released Cosmos on
Livity Sound, a mini-album that zoomed out to a more reflective strain of
electronica shaped by atmospheric synth lines in the hauntological vein of
Ghost Box, Pye Corner Audio et al. The Wyrding Way finds Uncles delving even
deeper into this area of his output, keeping drums to a bare minimum and
focusing instead on powerful melodic lines. There are still considered soundsystem
moments that connect with Livity's long-standing sonic focus, not least the
subtle dub inflection of EP centrepiece 'By The Light Of The Moon'. Elsewhere
Uncles leaves the melodic parts unaccompanied, letting the phrasing and
emotional pull of the title track tell its own story. Balancing light and
dark elements and drawing inspiration from personal experiences and
perspectives, combined with spiritual and existential observations, Uncles
capitalises on the evocative streak in his studio practice to deliver a
timeless, immersive experience unlike anything else in his considerable back
catalogue. Livity Sound is a label set up by Peverelist in 2011 as a vehicle
for a raw and exploratory strain of UK techno, rooted in the heritage of UK
