1960s, jazz drummer Takeo Moriyama has been a dominant force in the free jazz
scene, initially with the Yosuke Yamashita Trio, and more recently,
collaborating with the KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET, earning respect from past to
present. Recorded in 1980 with his quartet featuring Fumio Itabashi, this
album is renowned for being the first to include the emotionally rich
Japanese masterpiece "Watarase". Other highlights include the
spirited "Exchange" and the beautifully poignant
"Goodbye". Each track is a standout, offering a grand-scale
performance where tranquility and movement organically intertwine, making it

party full circle - blending deep catalogue cuts, future-forward house, and
tracks from the label’s tight-knit family of collaborators. Like the volumes
before it, this 2x12” release arrives in a raw reverse board outer sleeve, a
nod to the aesthetic of Classic’s earliest releases. Inside, bold yellow and
red GMUND card stock inner sleeves with embossed detailing reflect the
label’s long-standing commitment to design, artistry, and collectability.
Record One kicks off with a certified Classic family affair. Home &
Garden’s ‘Sexuality...He's 2 Young’ features the unmistakable voice of DJ
Colette, a staple of Classic’s early era. Included here is JT Donaldson’s
Porno Beat Down Remix—a stripped, low-slung rework with an irresistibly funky
bass line and pure dance floor chemistry. Brett Johnson’s ‘Jiffy Pop’, from
his legendary Bounce! EP, follows up with a jittery, swaggering groove that
epitomises Brett’s playful, funk-laced production style. Infectious, weird,
and entirely unforgettable. On the flip, Tiefschwarz’s ‘Acid Soul’ delivers a
moody, muscular roller. Originally released during their prolific run on
Classic in the early 2000s, it fuses baritone sax stabs, a Berlin-borne bass
line, and a sultry vocal into a deeply spiritual house cut. Roy Davis Jr.
closes Side B with the propulsive ‘About Love’ (Solid Groove Remix)—a tough
and driving interpretation by Dave Taylor that’s long been a DJ favourite in
the Classic vaults. Record Two showcases Classic’s more recent sonic
evolutions. JT Donaldson’s return to the label in 2019 came with ‘Stay
Inside’, a rich and breezy groove featuring the soulful voice of Liv.e. It’s
an elegant and understated slice of modern house with timeless appeal. Then
comes Dam Swindle’s funk-charged ‘Hey Mister’. A punchy, bass-driven jam
built around a 70s reggae-disco vocal sample. Raw and infectious, it’s been
lighting up dance floors worldwide since its release. Luke Solomon’s catalogue
on Classic is vast, but ‘Come on Over’, his collaboration with Amp Fiddler,
earns its place here. Seeing vinyl release for the first time, this cut
overflows with musicality. Amp’s passionate vocal, free-time breakdowns, and
deep funk grooves deliver pure emotional punch. And to close, a modern
masterpiece: Honey Dijon’s ‘Work’ (Extended Mix), taken from her ‘Black Girl

Debut
solo album from guitar player of Calicos. For years, Aäron Koch was the
guitarist in other people's bands. Writing intricate riffs and odd time
signatures came naturally, but the thought of writing a simple song, a verse,
a chorus, a melody that could stand on its own, felt out of reach. He tried
and failed, discarded demos, and pushed himself through the humbling exercise
of writing "bad songs" just to learn the craft. 'For Once', his
debut album (out via Unday Records), is the unexpected outcome of that long
struggle. What began as an exercise became a set of songs that refused to
stay in the drawer. Months after recording rough sketches, Koch listened back
and realized they weren't throwaways after all. With a small heart, he shared
them with friends, musicians from bands like Calicos, Uma Chine and Tin
Fingers, who immediately heard their potential and joined the project. The
result is a record that balances melancholy and raw intensity, where
vulnerability is never far from power. Koch's voice cuts straight through,
while the band builds a sound that feels both timeless and urgent, echoing
The Veils, My Morning Jacket and Strand of Oaks. "This music is about
weaknesses and vulnerability," Koch says. "Autobiographical really,
something I only realized once the album took shape." That honesty
struck a chord. In 2024, after only a handful of shows, Aäron Koch reached
the finals of Humo's Rock Rally and was invited to open for Belle &
Sebastian at a sold-out Ancienne Belgique. Now 'For Once' shows why: it's the
sound of someone learning to write songs the hard way, and discovering in the

Swedish
producer Robert Leiner’s landmark 1994 album ‘Visions Of The Past’ finally
gets a vinyl LP reissue on Apollo, the ‘ambient division’ of R&S Records.
Long regarded as one of the pivotal ambient/electronic long players, the
album has stood the test of time and serves as a reminder on how potent the
early ambient techno releases were. Leiner was a central figure in the early
European techno and ambient landscape, carving out a distinctive sound that
bridged atmospheric depth and rhythmic intensity. Known for his releases as
The Source Experience and contributions to the R&S/Apollo catalogue, as a
producer and engineer, Leiner’s work resonated across the underground,
earning him a reputation for visionary, emotionally charged productions that
stood apart from his contemporaries. 'Visions Of The Past’ captures this
duality perfectly with expansive ambient passages that drift into hypnotic
techno, while layers of intricate sound design and pulsating low end create a
timeless and immersive listening experience. Tracks unfold with patience and
precision, like the 12-minute-long marine epic ‘Aqua Viva’, balancing
introspection with kinetic dance energy, and the new age ambience of ‘Dream
Or Reality’ and ‘Northern Dark’ embodying the forward-thinking ethos that
defined Apollo’s golden era. Three decades on, this long out of print album

Ovatow
made quite a stir when he first started dropping deep dubs on his mysterious
MySpace page (the main social media at the time). The tracks on the little
crappy audio player got hunted down by a flock of DJ's and label heads. From
behind a curtain of anonymity he soon started releasing his material on
various labels, becoming cult classics in the dub-techno world. It was 2007
when X-dub first appeared on the Dutch imprint SD Records, followed up by his
classic release on Frantic Flowers and a string of other projects while
keeping his identity secret to everyone. Years later, the rumors proved
true... the artist behind these mysterious projects was non other than the
Frantic Flowers / Frustrated Funk label head himself. Just testing the waters
around him, receiving release offers from close friends and colleagues while
he kept his anonymity up. A fun little joke for himself, though the tracks
are still relevant and sought after classics today. Both X-dub versions
re-appear now, for the first time after almost 20 years, fully retouched and
remastered, together with an unknown unreleased jam called Autistic
Navigational Spectrum. This is the first in a series of Ovatow work, revived

As
Dustin Zahn's Enemy Records celebrates its 20th anniversary with a string of
special releases, DVS1's "Flight to Nowhere" has finally been
repressed for the first time in 15 years... "Flight to Nowhere,"
released in 2009, stands as one of DVS1's earliest EPs, arriving the same
year as his breakout records for Klockworks and Transmat. While somewhat
forgotten in some circles and highly regarded in others, the EP's tracks come
from the same production period. The late 2000s painted a much different
picture for Techno. It was an time when Techno was taken seriously as an
artform. Themes like simplicity and minimalism reigned supreme, and producers
were judged not by image, but by raw sincerity and tenacity. From the rising
tension on "Departure," to the brooding bassline on
"Falling," and finally the comforting embrace of
"Arrival," the record echoes back to an era when conceptual records
were built to stand the test of time. Originally released as a digital EP by
the now-defunct Minneapolis label Timefog, Enemy picked the release up for a
physical vinyl release and wider distribution shortly after. Since then, DVS1
has been on a steady and undeniable ascent as one of Techno's most sought
after DJs. Together, Zak and Dustin have been waiting for the right time to

Cybernetic
disco maestro Patrick Cowley graces Dark Entries once again with Hard Ware,
an LP of far-out funk and synthpop celebrating what would have been Cowley’s
75th birthday. Best known for his chart-topping disco anthems, Cowley left us
with an incredible body of work before his tragic death in 1982 due to
AIDS-related illness. Since 2009, Dark Entries has been working with Cowley’s
friends and family to uncover the singular artist’s lesser-known sides,
including his soundtracks for gay pornographic films, which the label
chronicled on compilation albums School Daze, Muscle Up, and Afternooners.
Hard Ware presents the closing chapter in a trilogy of unreleased Cowley
dancefloor bangers that began with 2022’s heavy-hitting Male Box and was
continued with the soul and garage-inflected From Behind in 2024. The most
expansive release in said trilogy, Hard Ware delivers ten tracks of pure,
uncut Cowley: sultry, psychedelic, sarcastic, and just a bit sleazy. Cowley
devotees will delight in “Tech-No,” a sparse instrumental demo version of his
epically dystopian “Tech-No-Logical World.” You could soundtrack your next
aerobics session with cheeky numbers like “Pajama Party Massacre” or “Shake
It Up,” both of which feature Cowley himself on vocals. The frenetic “Big Ass
in Motion” is built around samples from Rudy Ray Moore and The Madam’s
infamous “Sensuous Black Woman,” an X-rated comedy record that would later
feature in classic booty house records. Mid-tempo cosmic groovers are
well-represented with jams like “Hellfire” and “Megablue,” which perfectly
capture Cowley’s bathhouse-in-outerspace sensibilities. No collection of
Cowley’s work would be complete without an interstellar floor-filler, and
we’ve got quite a few here, like “Jungle Jump,” which pits whirling beats
with dub-laced swirls of synth, or “Spellbinding Lover,” a Donna
Summer-indebted melancholic boogie masterpiece that features Sylvester backup
singer Jeanie Tracy. Hard Ware closes with the chilling synth-hymn ”Ice Age,”
in which Loverde vocalist Peggy Gibbons sings of a coming frosty apocalypse.
The story told in “Ice Age” mirrors the coming AIDS crisis and feels like a
haunting premonition from Cowley. The record comes in a sleeve with a
hand-airbrushed circuitboard-inspired design by Gwenaël Rattke, and includes
lyrics as well as liner notes by Andrew Ryce and Peggy Gibbons. Hard Ware is
another crucial document of a tremendous talent taken too soon |

Than Meets the Eye is the debut album by Belgian artist Léonard Steyaert - an
evocative blend of experimental electronics and intimate songwriting. Across

Volpe
is the finely tuned trio led by Ghent-based pianist Heleen Andriessen.
Drummer Stijn Demuynck and bassist Kobe Boon support Andriessen's lyrical
melodies with an infectious groove. The carefully crafted compositions
alternate between energetic and melancholic, allowing the listener to feel
immersed in a warm bath while transporting them to an uncanny world. 'elders'
(Dutch for "elsewhere"), doesn't refer to a physical place but to a
refuge in Heleen's mind-a sanctuary where she searches for beauty on gray,
rainy November days. A simple detail taken from everyday life can serve as a
gateway to this hopeful, imaginative world. Musically, this translates to
repetitive patterns that gradually evolve or suddenly burst open. Subtle
dissonance is welcome here, with the band lovingly embracing the slight
disruption it offers. Heleen's playful runs and Stijn Demuynck's grooves
balance the melancholic undertones. Seemingly simple melodies tell stories

steps up for her long-awaited debut EP, Heel Thyself, out Friday 7th November
on Intrepid Skin. A core figure in grassroots techno circuits, and an
internationally lauded DJ, SPFDJ's ascent reflects a passion for music
governed by love and grit in equal measure. At once providing a gleefully
chaotic two-fingers to dance music's self-serious establishment, whilst also
flexing an ever-expanding knowledge of its roots and potentials, her musical
armoury is renowned the world over for inspiring debauchery and sweat-soaked
hedonism. As an artist whose journey has been defined by challenging the
norms of electronic music, SPFDJ's rebel spirit is recognised locally and
globally, but guiding this attitude is a vulnerability to the realities of
the music industry, and the rise of conservatism that permeates every aspect
of life. And whilst sensitive to the use of buzzwords like community, it's
ultimately a respect for the people who keep these scenes alive that
motivates her artistry. In releasing this EP, she taps into a more vulnerable
side. The title - a nod to internal healing processes, and a play on words to
motivate queers and women to 'boot up for battle' against increasingly
oppressive structures - shines a light on some of the values she holds up to
electronic music culture. At once playfully chaotic and deeply energising,
Heel Thyself spins us through a cyclone of kicks, punches, and noise. Opener
'Cluster B Intro' is a tempo-twisting barrage of gabber led by a robotic
vocal command, setting the scene for pretty much anything to happen. 'That
Stiletto Track' kicks in like a tweaked out distortion of 90s trance before
spiralling upwards into a storm of heavy breaks. 'F*ckboi' is hot n heavy
electro - classic in its structure, but with the added industrial touch of
hammerdrill synths and razor sharp percussion. Swinging into a bouncier
state, 'The Hot in Psychotic' flings ricocheting rhythms through frantic
claps, with a donk to keep things moving. Rounding things off, 'Mindless
Counting' flies higher with pummeling drums lifted by a touch of euphoria. A
debut laced with both defiance and self-reckoning, Heel Thyself finds the

Two
decades into his winding voyage through music, culture and creativity, Tom
Trago has become part of the densely woven fabric of the Dutch electronic
scene - a producer, DJ, label owner, collaborator, remixer, radio host and
DJ's DJ who is renowned not only for his impressive productivity, but also
the genuine depth and variety of his work. While it was Trago's distinctive
DJ sets that once grabbed headlines - he famously held residencies at
renowned Amsterdam institutions Trouw and De School, and for a decade spent
much of his time jetting between some of the most renowned clubs in Europe -
in recent years Tom has cut down on appearances. Today, he chooses to be far
more selective about where (and when) he DJs or performs live, often working
with a handful of cherished venues and festivals while ensuring that his
travels are sustainable and inspiring. Instead of the grind of touring and
hedonistic night-time activity, Trago has chosen to focus on music-making,
alongside semi-regular forays into radio broadcasting (NTS, Radio Radio, BBC
Radio and EchoBox). He now spends most of his days producing and remixing at
his new SR-3 studio in Alkmaar and his seaside home-come-studio in Bergen aan
Zee. As part of these lifestyle and career changes, Trago took time to look
deeper, not only inside himself, but also for musical inspiration. Tom has
always loved, and devoted time to, digging into a wide variety of production
styles, using this inspiration to develop a trademark personal production
style, but in recent years he has taken it even further. Fuelled by a desire
to challenge himself, Tom consistently tries new things in the studio while
channeling all he's learned during a career that has moved forwards at
breakneck speed. Since making his debut in 2006, Trago has released six
critically acclaimed albums (two of which, the eclectic, beat-focused,
career-spanning, Patta-released archive dive, 18, and the dancefloor
excursion, Trembala, appeared in 2022); extensively worked with Dutch
electronic music institutions Rush Hour and Dekmantel; collaborated with
countless friends and contemporaries (Charlie Soul Clap, Awanto 3, Maxi Mill,
Steffi, San Proper, Seth Troxler, and BokBok included); remixed artists
including New Order, Carl Craig, Cassius, Tiga and Erol Alkan, and championed
a swathe of fellow Dutch producers via the Voyage Direct label he founded in

was produced and written by The Moments. The Rimshots were the house band at

centre stage in 1975 as the adrenalin up chanted jam became a funk anthem.

2nd on KNTXT. It’s the final LP single to keep excitement building before her
self-titled debut album ‘Charlotte de Witte’ drops on November 7th. The
single release marks the start of her 2nd-5th October London city takeover.
Following the insane success of her NYC takeover, she plays 5 shows in 4 days
in London, including The Shard, fabric, The Cause, Magazine + one TBA. This
mix of intimate cultural spaces and large uncompromising venues celebrates de
Witte’s love of the city and its rave scene over her 10+ year career. ‘I'm
very excited to launch this single in London’ Charlotte says. ‘The city has
played a massive role in my growth as an artist and I’ve had many memorable
shows there, from the smaller and more intimate venues like Village
Underground to Tobacco Dock, Printworks and Drumsheds and many summer
festivals. The London crowd is special. I'm looking forward to playing
different sets in different settings in your wonderful city to celebrate the
launch of the third single of my upcoming album. This will be one for the

Action is proud to present Daughters, the debut album by Jennifer Walton.
Walton is a beloved figure across various sectors of the alternative music
underground. Outside of her own music and soundtrack work, she has been a
live drummer for Kero Kero Bonito, collaborates with Sarah Midori Perry on
the pair’s Cryalot project, has remixed Metronomy and worked with Iceboy
Violet, BABii and more. She also makes music and DJs with close friends aya
and 96 Back under the name Microplastics, and recently contributed to London
collective caroline’s acclaimed caroline 2 album. The first seeds of Walton’s
debut album were sowed during touring North America in 2018, where whilst
ticking off life-long music goals, Walton’s father was dying of cancer. Grief
is a constant presence throughout Daughters, and specifically the surreal
nature of having to process it amongst a blur of airports, flight
connections, hotel rooms and battles for stolen medication with the American
healthcare system. Strip malls, drug deals, panic attacks; the artificiality
of downtown American city districts dovetailing with reality in its most
brutal form. Miss America for a day while life is changed forever. Weaving
between real life diary entries, travelogue-style storytelling, imagery that
ranges from mechanical to religious and a scattering of fiction (though we
are obliged to mention that ‘Shelly’ is based on a true story), Daughters
climaxes with the staggering run of ‘Saints’, ‘Miss America’ and its title
track. Sampling unattended machines harmonising bleeps into the void in a
London hospital ward, ‘Saints’ narrates Walton taking her father to and from
cancer research trials, “sat, hunched and sick in the concourse as minutes
became hours”. And to be very real for a moment, Jen is a friend, and first
hearing the ‘Miss America’ demo is up there with the most emotional moments
we’ve had in 15 years of running this record label. Finished in London across
the second half of 2024, Daughters features musical contributions from some
of the closest friends and collaborators that Walton has made in her time as
a musician: aya (who also mixed the album), Daniel S. Evans, Joshua Barfood
and Nick Granata (all of Shovel Dance), Alex McKenzie (of caroline and Shovel
Dance), Aga Ujma and Bob Lockwood |

Patterson, a true originator, resident at Ladyfags’ Battle Hymn party and a
regular at Horse Meat Disco, Berghain’s Panorama Bar, and Glitterbox, as well
as releasing on Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, Defected, and more. His
sophisticated remix boasts a warm and bouncy sound, complemented by soulful
vocals that lend richness. Then it's seminal NYC favourite Danny Krivit, who
is part of the cult Body and Soul crew, is a renowned remixer and editor with
hundreds of credits to his name on the most important labels in the scene,
and is resident DJ at New York’s legendary 718 Sessions. He draws on his vast
experience to edit the original into a playful disco stomper, complete with

Prolific
powers in rave and counterculture, Luca Lozano and Mr. Ho debut on Phantasy
with the deliciously gnarly ‘WREKONS’ EP. Already locked in close
collaboration at their own Klasse Wrecks label, this temporary migration to
Erol Alkan's peerless London imprint with four outsider-electro variations
that sit comfortably amongst the more bombastic moments in Phantasy's
history. ‘Reach Out and Touch’ sets the tone, bursting sound systems wide
open with an introduction that takes Lozano and Ho out of the basement and
into the widest festival fields, overdriven with sheer energy and a flawless
arrangement that sets up all manner of musical twists until the final chord.
‘Psycho Rasp’ expands from a simple cowbell beat to a circuit-frying melody,
a machine rush that isn’t afraid to strip back to bare essentials for a
devilishly simple, extremely effective breakdown. On the flip, ‘WREKONS'
pushes things further still, particularly on the lubricious ‘Grease Beat’, an
unrelenting symphony of rubber-faced bass, crashing cymbals and demented
drums, ideally composed to pair daring DJs with submissive dancers. ‘Tin Can
Hustler’ closes off the EP with the duo’s leftfield take on jackin’ house,
its dense groove bubbling up from underneath the strangest analogue signals.
The title and sleeve artwork for 'WREKONS' (undertaken by Lozano’s design
alter ego PLANETLUKE.COM) makes reference to the PERKONS HD01, a drum machine
made by Latvian wizards Erica Synths, and one that was used heavily
throughout the two-day session in which these tracks were recorded |

Interception,
the second long player from Jensen Interceptor following 2018's Mother, is
something of a state-of-the-nation that finds Melas consolidating several
eras of his career, past and present, to form a distinct new sound that is
the most experimental work he has produced to date. In 2024, a freak accident
at an event he was playing left him with multiple broken bones in his foot.
The forced downtime became an opportunity for introspection, allowing him to
revisit earlier projects and explore new musical territories. Blending his
signature electro with genres such as IDM, footwork, and baile funk, Melas
used this recovery period to fuse old influences with fresh global sounds.
"Since I started making music I've always made music geared towards use
in my DJ sets but there's always been an urge to explore the deeper side of
electronic music. That time off after the accident gave me the space to dive
into genres and really experiment." The accident came at a time when he
had already spent time, like so many others though the COVID-19 pandemic,
assessing his next move. A full tour schedule had left him feeling
constrained by the limitations of working in a single genre. As such,
Interception is the end point of this reassessment and the start point of
what Melas sees as the next stage of his musical evolution. "I really
wanted to challenge and, I guess, prove myself in other spheres, to take my
music to a new place. I've never wanted to be too repetitive and found that expectations, imagined or real, were
forcing me to get stuck on a specific sound both in my productions and DJ
sets." This renewal is reflected in the title of the album, which
eagle-eyed fans will note is the same as the first EP that was released under
the Jensen Interceptor moniker, and the emotional and personal nature of the
LP is likewise mirrored in the abstract impressionism of the artwork created
by fellow Australian, Brodie Kaman, the artist behind the visual look of Lady
Gaga's recent Mayhem LP as well as works for FKA Twigs, Nine Inch Nails, and
more. The design-resembling oil drifting across a microscope slide-uses a mix
of vivid pastels and moody darks to express the album's emotional depth: a collection
of distinct elements

Architecture are pleased to announce the second release in their 'New Town
Dubs' series, following in the footsteps of the now Sold Out 'Architecture
Dubs' series. Whereas 'Architecture Dubs' enlisted remixers from Drum &
Bass's mid 90s golden era (among them the likes of Peshay, Blame, 4Hero and
Ray Keith), 'New Town Dubs' turns its attention to the new breed of producers
inspired by the sounds of Drum & Bass and Jungle's foundations. On the
A-Side, a rinsing Amen rework of 2022 roller 'Distant Response' comes
courtesy of Law, the name behind the prolific Repertoire imprint. With
releases on labels including Silent Force, Rupture and of course Repertoire,
Law has been a major player in the Jungle revival sound for over a decade.
Over on the flip, Melbourne based producer Kloke delivers a stripped back
rework of 'Rising', taken from this year's 'Vivid' EP. With releases on
Future Retro, Hyperdub and Diamond Life, Kloke is a frequent collaborator
with Tim Reaper and has collaborated with many of the notable producers and
labels representing Jungle's new wave. Pressed on 10" vinyl and housed
in brown Kraft paper sleeves, the series makes visual reference to the
exclusive dubplate pressings which introduced so many classic cuts to the
UK's dancefloors in the 90s |

Four
years on from their landmark Grassroots, visionary half-time heavyweights The
Untouchables return with their third album, Lost Knowledge. The duo of Kate
McGill and Ajit 'Nitrox' Steyns have carved out a space in modern D&B all
their own, building on a legacy that reaches back to the late 00s to keep
pushing into unexplored terrain with an assured and deadly line in rhythmic
intrigue and atmospheric immersion. Lost Knowledge launches into action
instantly with the high-pressure drum science and dubby splashes of 'Drunken
Bells', capturing the loopy techno propulsion and rolling intensity that
drives so much of the output on Samurai Music. Where The Untouchables excel
is in finding variety and nuance in their relatively forbidding, pared down sound.
The heads-down groove of 'Mafia Town' owes as much to dembow and dancehall as
D&B, while 'Lost Knowledge' spirals out into psychoactive flurries of
synth strafes and organic percussion slathered in tight-locked delay trails.
There's no light relief from strident hooks or riffs, just a pure,
unshakeable commitment to the power of the beat and deeply designed layers of
sound shaping out the space around. 'Busy Bones' makes space for carefully
deployed hints of pad tone while the snares snap out of the mix with a sharp
set of teeth. 'Four Eared Demon' baits the gabber crowd with its rapid-fire
4/4 hats atop seasick creaks across the midrange, keeping subtlety and
patience in the lower frequencies to maintain the signature elegance readily
associated with The Untouchables. 'Phase Correlation' teases an artfully
unhinged ripple of synth that stands out amongst the murky murmurs filling
out the middle distance, but it's still exercised with brutal precision.
Nothing happens by accident or feels out of place - McGill and Steyns are in
total control, and they demonstrate incredible range and inventive approaches
within their focused style. The accent of the grooves shifts, and individual
sounds carry all kinds of artefacts, yet everything gets folded into the
exacting Untouchables sound with a liberal dubwise sensibility. Brimming with
inspiration and immaculately produced, on Lost Knowledge their one-of-a-kind
sound is stronger than ever |
