Haven
is kicking off 2020 with a boom with a new EP of politically pessimistic
dance-floor-ready weapons from label boss Keepsakes. Following on from his
exploration of chunky slow rippers on 2019's "Modern Anxious
Vernacular", this next edition in the Haven mastermind's discography
puts greater emphasis on rhythmic groove for the dancers among us. The record
starts with "And So The Feckless Fall" on the A1, featuring
shuffling drum rhythms and ethereal vocal work, descending in to a menacing,
swung synth-line for maximum club effect. This is followed by "Blue Boy
Fucks It All" on the A2. Reminiscent of the slo-mo bangers of Keepsakes'
last EP, this crawler of a track is initially propelled by its moody synth
melody and booming drums, with a mid-track switch up putting melancholic pad
chords front-and-centre. The flip side begins with "Ignorant Irony"
- a certified floor smasher prioritizing groove with it's swinging drum
rhythms, cheeky vocal samples and sinister synth sounds. The record ends with
a remix of the B1 from UVB - who re-imagines the track in to a sneering,
ominous slammer, with brutal yet groovy drum work and sampling closing the EP
with another no-nonsense banger. All tracks produced and mixed by James

For
their milestone 10th release on their main label series Haven is honoured to
be working with celebrated Swedish experimentalist Peder Mannerfelt with a
collection of energetic and diverse UK-influenced stompers. The EP kicks off
with "Enter Reoccurring Disparity" on the A1. Fierce synth bleeps,
classic drum breaks and creative percussion interplay around the pounding
kick in this hectic club banger. Following on the A2 "And That
Happened" takes the record in to moody broken beat territory, utilising
murky drones and experimental textures alongside wild, morphing drum work in
a sludgy mutant roller. The flip-side launches with "Stockholm
Shuffle" on the B1 with grimy bass pulses, half-time snares, and ominous
atmospheres in the ideal half-way point between dubstep and 4-4 techno. The
EP closes with a driving remix from yung Haven main-stay Tommy Holohan.
Rolling drum rhythms, vocal chants and nimble synth work propel the track
towards its euphoric breakdown and square-bass melody in another impressive
track from Ireland's finest up-and-comer |

The Gun Club was formed by
Jeffrey Lee Pierce, former head of the Blondie fan club in Los Angeles.
Joining him was Brian Tristan, who was later renamed Kid Congo Powers during
his stint with The Cramps. By 1982, the band had signed to Blondie guitarist
Chris Stein's Animal Records and temporarily relocated to New York to record
1982's Miami. This album features Stein as producer, and you can hear Debbie
Harry on backup vocals on select tracks. Going for a higher, more desolate
sound, frontman and slide player Jeffrey Lee Pierce and his band were
literally on fire. The songs here, from "Carry Home", "Like
Calling Up Thunder", "Devil in the Woods", "Watermelon
Man", "Bad Indian" and "Texas Serenade" center
themselves on a mutant form of country music that meets the post-punk ethos.
This is hardcore snake-charming music, evil, smoky, and brash. In the
bird's-eye view of history its songs are all classics |

Boston in what would become their final year as a group. The set was part of
their Trans-Global Express tour, which was put together to promote their
penultimate studio album The Gift. The band were at the peak of their powers
at this point having been on the road for months. The setlist is a
career-spanning joy with some of their most-loved numbers, including 'That's
Entertainment', 'Pretty Green' and 'Carnation'. Of the material from The
Gift, the single 'A Town Called Malice' is an era-defining banger that can't

his long-awaited return to Spatial, JLM Productions serves up another

Unraveling: Opening with a blissful, playful melody which fades in and out of
effects and padwork,Unravelling shows off an insanely crisp 2-step break at

causes problems, the only way to solve them is through more communication. I

Like
sneaking an extra scoop (or two) of ice cream for dessert, what do you do
when you know something’s bad for you, but its vice-like nature makes it all
the more irresistible? Vega Records explores this conundrum in its latest
release, “Can’t Let You Go” by the late, great Loleatta Holloway. “Can’t Let
You Go” is one of the last unreleased recordings Loleatta completed before
her passing in 2011. In the main mix, she addresses a relationship she knows
she should end but can’t bring herself to leave because the lovin’ is just
too good: “I keep coming back time and time again,” she ruminates with raw
emotion. “We got to make things better or we got to do whatever to make it
right… oh, let’s make it right, ‘cause I can’t let you go.” For the
unfamiliar, Loleatta Holloway, a.k.a. the “Queen of the Night,” is a bona
fide disco and soul icon. The singer behind successful singles such as “Hit
and Run” and “Love Sensation,” she is one of the most sampled artists from
the disco era. The posthumous single was written and produced by prolific
artist Yvonne Turner, whose resume includes production and remix credits for
music greats such as Whitney Houston, Willie Colon, and Jeffrey Osborne; as
well as mixes for Lenny Kravitz, Lalah Hathaway, Mica Paris, and more.
Providing subtle, smooth background vocals for the track, she allows
Loleatta’s belting vocals to be the star of the percussive house groover;
while Vega Records boss Louie Vega offers a “Roots” mix and emotion-charged
“Soul House” mix. Louie Vega also invited his vocalist friends Tawatha Agee
(of seminal R&B and soul group Mtume) and Cindy Mizelle (Louie Vega’s
longtime collaborator) to add powerful hooks and new background arrangements,
enhancing the track with some call and response to Loleatta's adlibs during
the vamp. Gene Perez on Bass, Axel Tosca on Fender Rhodes, and Roberto
Quintero on percussion. In all, the record is club-ready catharsis made for
dancing all your troubles away. “Loleatta Holloway was one of the most
dynamic vocalists of our time,” says Yvonne Turner. “She was blessed with the
gift of song and her energy was electric! Loleatta's passion and artistry is
on full display as she masterfully interprets a lyric then delivers her
signature adlibs, which never disappoint. To describe her in a few words,
Loleatta Holloway was the truth... my friend... extraordinary!” Adds Louie
Vega, “Loleatta Holloway has had a huge impact in my life as a DJ, producer,
and clubber. She touched me in many ways through my music-making and even
style of DJing; to this day, I still play many of her songs and acapellas.
This is just our little way of saying thank you so much for what you've done
for so many lives with your beautiful voice, you've affected us all!!!” The
record’s cover artwork is a mural of Loleatta Holloway created by Richard
Wilson, a London-based artist who takes inspiration from DJs and producers

are proud to bring you part II of the CEP VA series, featuring six tracks
that span a wide range of genres. Each track bringsits own signature to this
release, making it truly one of a kind. Beta.V opens the A-side, fusing
self-sung vocals with multiplesynths that harmonize beautifully together to
create a timelesstrack. This is followed by SWART's 'Eternal Raver', much
akin toold-school trance thanks to hypnotic synths and dreamy
texturescreating a meditative state. A3 introduces ETERA's 'Classic Shit', a
dancefloor weapon with stomping beats and crisp,background drums signaling
the signature sound of ETERA himself. On the B-side, SZG stands out with its
gated synthline,pounding bass, and catchy vocals from Brazilian MC DDSVadding

finally the Berlin duo New Frames makes their debut onto PRSPCT Recordings
with a powerful four-track EP: PRSPCT332. Built by Mathis Mootz (The Panacea)
and David Frisch, New Frames have become a driving force in the darker
corners of modern electronic music. Their sound pulls from the roots of

After a road trip through Europe in an old Volvo packed with an arsenal of
old instruments and recording equipment Temple & Young settled in a
cottage in a rural village in the French countryside and turned the second
floor into a studio where the duo captured the beating heart of an endless
summer. While not swimming under the stars the duo mapped out their
collective consciousness with driving, mathematical grooves in a land
somewhere between 70s Düsseldorf and 90s Manchester that oozes cheap drinks,

Elemental
7' was a pioneering film by CTI (Chis & Cosey) released in 1983 on VHS
tape via Cabaret Voltaire's Doublevision video wing. The influential
soundtrack hasn't been available for some forty years so this is long
overdue! Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti were joined by (The Spacey) Bruce
Lacey's son John Lacey who was a sometime collaborator with Coum
Transmissions. Together they conjured the perfect electronic soundtrack to
the experimental video images that seemed to compliment the cathod-ray tube
fidelity, and in the process turned out the now-classic proto-acid of
'Dancing With Ghosts' |

Hailing from Ireland, Bobby
(originally from Liverpool) and Billie (Bosnian born) from the ephemeral Low
Sea compose music that flows like a serpentine river through the uncanny
valley. Indeed, the owls are not what they seem-but even such blatant allusions
can't sketch an intuitive image of the soun-/scapes woven by this intriguing
dyad. This is the duo's third album having released a mini album on Lefse and
a narcotic synth pop album on Dell'Orso and this album further extends their
insular grey disco sound. Low Sea's woozy, gothic take on coldwave synthpop
remains intact on Portals, but this time out moving from the shadows to the
light of city nights. Intricately layered melodies shimmer and then pick up
energy, as Billie's unique beguiling voice sings of loss and triumph,
loneliness and euphoria. As with the last album there is a track mixed by the
legendary Stephen Hague (Propaganda/ Pet Shop Boys), the final song All

1984 Brazilian electro funk/early
rap by Sao Paulo crew Electric Boogies, recorded under the influence of New
York's B-Boy culture and local artists like Black Juniors, Villa Box.
Following the success of the early Brazilian rap artists Black Juniors, Villa
Box, Buffalo Girls. Electric Boogies emerged out of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as a
crew devoted to breakdancing under the influence of New York's B-Boy culture.
They would record "Break Mandrake" in 1984, originally released on
RGE Records. This single has two fabulous electro-funk tracks, side A is
vocal and on the flipside we find the instrumental version with some extra
keys that give it a more jazzy touch. DJ Irai Campos would provide the
scratches while the arrangements and keyboards were credited to Eduardo
Assad, who also worked with Black Juniors, Sasha and others. First time vinyl

This is not just a compilation, Love Language is a manifesto. A carefully
curated sonic journey through eroticism, artistic rebellion, and liberation,
it spans nearly five decades of music and features exclusive edits and rare
gems that illuminate System Olympia’s radical aesthetic vision. Various
Artists – curated by System Olympia "Love Language" Since her
emergence on the electronic underground, System Olympia has carved out a
distinct, sensual sonic universe, equal parts vulnerable and defiant. With
Love Language, she presents her most audacious project to date: a compilation

Thirteen
years after their landmark debut, Italian duo Voices From The Lake (Donato
Dozzy & Neel) return with their much-anticipated second album, 'II' (two)
on their own Spazio Disponibile.The record marks a new chapter in one of
electronic music's most revered projects. Born from a friendship and a
singular musical vision, Voices From The Lake first emerged as a one-off live
performance in the Japanese Alps, later distilled into their self-titled 2012
album. That record has since become a touchstone in ambient techno, reshaping
the global landscape of hypnotic and atmospheric electronic music. In the
years since, the duo have performed worldwide, released a handful of EPs,
worked on installations, and founded record labels, all while continuing to

it did," the duo reflect. "At one point, we even paused it. Only to

Dino Lenny debuts on Radio
Slave’s Rekids with ‘Not About The Volume’ on 5th December 2025 alongside a
remix from label regular Tiger Stripes. Active for over three decades,
Italian/UK DJ, producer, singer, and Fine Human Records label owner Dino
Lenny has released on R&S, Diynamic, Innervisions, and Bedrock, while
working with artists such as Underworld, Missy Elliott, Wu-Tang Clan, and
Madonna on remixes and collaborations. Since 2021, he’s hosted Tomorrowland’s
Core, the festival’s alternative electronic stage's radio show, which has
featured Nina Kraviz, Ellen Allien, DJ Tennis, and more. Lenny’s ‘Not About
The Volume’ boasts a loopy groove that forms the base for impactful,
jazz-infl ected hits, and at the centre, a quirky, party-starting vocal

Intentions announces Inverse, a new 4-track EP from Melbourne-based producer
and DJ; Pugilist, arriving 12 December on limited white-label. 12"
vinyl. Marking his first release on the London imprint, Inverse sees Pugilist
expanding further into the shadowy, percussive terrain he has become known
for, merging future-focused techno, lo-fi industrial, and the energy of early
hardcore breaks through his own atmospheric lens. The EP captures both the
toughness of the dancefloor and the subtle experimentation that runs through
his catalogue. A Scottish/Kiwi artist now based in Melbourne, Pugilist has
built a reputation for stylistic range and rhythmic depth. His releases on
Modern Hypnosis, Samurai Records, and 3024, along with the recent launch of
his own imprint Ruff Kutz, demonstrate his ability to move across tempos and
moods while maintaining a distinctive sonic identity. On the decks, he is
celebrated for tightly curated sets, deep crates, and an array of unreleased
dubs. Speaking on joining the Best Intentions roster and the inspiration
behind the project, Pugilist shares: "Stoked to be joining the Best
Intentions fam with 4 x retro rave rollas across the hardcore continuum, from
minimalist Techno, to smoked out Electro, to krusty Hardcore and Breaks. This
EP is a mix of styles which have informed my production style over the years.
It is great to be putting out music with a shared vision for giving back for
a greater cause. I have been a fan of the label since its inception so jumped
at the chance to do a 12". I will be donating my share of profits to the
Asylum Seeker Resource Centre - a wonderful Melbourne-based charity for
asylum seekers here in Naarm. They do wonderful work." The EP's closing
track, FKRY, a collaboration with POD, brings warped leads, stepping drum
work, and old-school jungle tension into a modern, heavyweight techno frame |

Going through his music files
from the past fifteen years, LFU found some unfinished and long forgotten
projects. One particular track caught his attention, made by former
'Pantoffeldiertjes' VJ Bas Klompmaker, now known as Pantov. This track,
called 'WannaBe', was remixed at some time by LKRT and LFU, but was never
finetuned and stayed on the shelf for a long time. When you listen to the
original 'Pantov - WannaBe' theme, it feels like you get caught in a magic
spell. A boost of freedom and positive energy flows from the speakers
straight into your brain. Pantov & Casa Meganika polished up the original
track, while LKRT and LFU re-created the remixes. You simply cannot sit still
when listening to LFU's catchy and mesmerizing punchy breakbeat remixes: a
7inchMix and a full version boasting even more breakbeats (how many breaks do
you want?). The LKRT RMX has a trippy progressive - four to the floor -
energetic feel: keep moving straight ahead! |

G, aka Colin McBean, presents a remastered, 23-track compilation entitled 'OG
Retrospective' 'The day I found my original studio masters and got my rights
back was the starting point, and then I realised it's 25 years on and it's
time to recode, remaster and reevaluate because I've never looked back
properly. I've always been like a bat out of hell, never quite thinking I'm
good enough or great at what I do, but it's important to celebrate, because
there's nota lot of people still here, still doing it after this length of
time'. With new masters provided by Simon at the renowned London mastering
house The Exchange London, a direct link to the original mastering done by
the late-Nilz (Nilesh Patel) from The Exchange, Mr. G's 'OG Retrospective'
marks a reflective period in McBean's life. 'All I've ever done is write and
move forward, but more and more, I get the new generation sending me videos
of my old tracks and sometimes I don't even recognise them, so finally I
thought, 'ok, you're comfortable in your own skin, let's really see how you
sounded at the beginning, how you've changed, how have the techniques
changed'? It was quite raw going back over these; some of the memories are
riddled with pain and angst - friends dying, where I was in my life at the
time, having a heart attack and so on. Having a sound, too, can be a cross to
bear. You're only ever competing with yourself, your only game is being
better than your last game, so if you dwell on the past too much you can't
move forward. Getting to the point where I can look back and feel happy,
feels good. Invariably, what will come from this is 'more', because, with my
own label I have endless possibilities and will continue telling my story.' |
