If anyone sees the mind-bending
1980 movie Altered States, tell it we have its soundtrack. Or not. Perhaps
late to the sensory deprivation tank party, Coil made much of the music here
to accompany filmed scenes of erotica, as the title suggests, although this
is more about tantric suggestions of cheekiness and sensuality than most of
the orgies you might have in mind. All very New Age, its crystalline sounds
gradually move into more rhythmic tracks, like the suggestively-titled
hypnotic pop of 'Happy End'. Polished off with the added bonus of a few cuts
taken from the band's work Themes For Derek Jarman's Blue, this is very much
one of those archive collections that anyone who knows needs to own, and
those who don't need to learn about |

Thing is, NOFX will be going to
hell for this EP. 6 new tunes, 2 of which will be on their new record Wolves
In Wolves' Clothing. The EP was originally released as a teaser for NOFX's
'06 album Wolves in Wolves' Clothing and it came from the same sessions as
that album and included two of the same songs ("Seeing Double at the
Triple Rock" and "The Marxist Brothers"), as well as a cover
of the 1984 song "Golden Boys" by Germs offshoot Vagina Dentata.
From the drunk Jesus on the album cover to the lyrics, this EP continued the
political vibe that NOFX had on previous album The War on Errorism, taking
shots at right-wingers, Christian fundamentalists, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity,
the NRA, Mel Gibson, and more. (And on the Clash-like reggae/punk of
"The Marxist Brothers," Fat Mike poked fun at Propagandhi, who had
poked fun at him on a song the year prior.) If you've never heard Never Trust

For
SIDE B's fourth release, an EP by Portugal's own DJ Dextro is in line. Ultra
efficient, fine tuned techno is put under a microscope by the international
mainstay for this record. Using high pressure in the low-end and creative
textures to decorate the tracks, Dextro solidifies his place as a mainstay
with a biting performance on home turf. Balancing his uncompromising sound
with mystical synth work, Dextro opens 'Lost Frame' with the title track. In
this A1, he rolls straight into a tunnel with flashing percussion and lurking
melodies far out in the stereo field.
Dancefloor focused but with a hint of mysticism, 'Lost Frame' creates
a captivating ambiance to introduce the project with promises of earworm
groove. Quick to follow up, 'Disclosure Of Who We Are' sees more space
between the elements, creating a whipping effect in the rhythm and rich in
sound design. Synth stabs cut through a booming kick, creating urgency in an
EP that was lacking none to begin with. This spirit is maintained on the
record's flip to the B side - this time with an added bit of funk and
shuffle. 'Liberdade' throws a vicious synth sequence forward for peaktime use
and sees Dextro define his space with concentrated transitions and booming
percussive hits. Swinging along with the occasional vocal sample to emphasize
the obscurity, the producer maintains his delivery of razor sharp focus in
all of his elements. To conclude, 'Panoplia Abstracta' settles things with an
ambient, even meditative fourth track. Staying insistent with his kick,
Dextro lets go of the wheel to drift his record from the body to the mind
with progressive arrangement and soothing textures to see off a whirlwind of

The
evolution of Andreas Tilliander's moniker TM404 has reached its third stage.
The first TM404 album was a heavily self-restricted concept album, live
recorded with classic Roland machines. The subsequent album had a more
playful vibe, shaped by Tilliander's extensive live touring. This third TM404
album on Kontra-Musik simply tells the story of what he's been up to since.
The third part of a musical diary, initiated in 2013. The TM404 venture might
have started out as a dreamy acid dub project, more suited for the chill-out
than the main floor. But by popular demand Tillander found himself touring
big clubs around the globe and the TM404 sound adapted organically. As a
result, the album features tracks like Vactro and Rymdeko: fast paced acidic
techno tracks in the same vein as classic Plus 8 releases, but with more
space echo. Much more. But never fear, fans of the classic warm and bubbling
TM404 sound. You'll certainly get yours as well. A substantial portion of
this album was recorded in a studio flat in Berlin as part of an artist
residency. For obvious reasons, Tilliander could only bring a small portion
of his studio gear to this German sanctuary. As a consequence, this album has
a more stripped down vibe than its predecessors, which creates more space for
Tilliander's glowing melodies. The last track on the album, a loving homage
to Kontra-Musik's label boss, is a sublime example. And for the Instagram
generation, here's the short version: The album is called Syra. That

complete OST by Riz Ortolani for the Spaghetti Western "A Reason to
Live, A Reason to Die." Riz Ortolani composed one of his best scores
during his long career with this one, an epic symphonic score where a heroic

the late 1970s. Starting out as the drummer in a local symphonic rock band,2
he quickly changed to bass guitar and later keyboards, playing in different

Swedish punkrock legend SATOR is releasing a split EP with the high (rock'n)
rollers and punk rockers THE HEADLINES: a long-overdue matter of the heart
and friendship! After all, it was Sator band founder Chips Kiesbye who
recognized the musical potential and the wild, unbridled power of The
Headlines more than 15 years ago. This was followed by support shows, and to
this day, Chips produces and supports the band in the studio. SATOR will
always be role models and idols for THE HEADLINES. This is once in a
lifetime, bucket list for sure! (Kerry Bomb) The 2 exclusive songs from each
band on the limited 10-inch vinyl span the range from hard rock, sleaze, glam
to straight forward punk rock. These two tracks from The Headlines are to be
seen as the essence of the band, on one side you have the classic rocking
hint to the past in "Fucked up" and then there's the american
melodic punk "True Grit" and both have the signature styled
thoughts on life lyrics you all know. SATOR presents "Thanks (For
nothing for all)", a long-ago written angry steamroller that somehow got
forgotten as a demo in the band archives. While recording "Return of The
Barbie-Q-Killers", the band stumbled upon this gem and re-recorded it. "We
can't really remember what we were angry about during the writing, but
there's always something that annoys you. Anger is never out of
fashion." (Chips Kiesbye) "I only want a date" was also
recorded during the studio sessions for the last Sator album and is a cover
of the US band "The Embarrassment", which released the sought-after
song only on tape in 1984. The 10-inch vinyl will be released as classic
black, blue or two-colored swirl vinyl and is likely to quickly establish
itself as a collector's item. So bang your head, this is Swedish Rock at its
best! |

14 track compilation from Swiss
punk and bubblegum indie pop band Chin-Chin. This compilation features the
unreleased four track Janice Long Session recorded for the BBC from 1988
which includes songs only heard on the broadcast plus tracks from the Stop
Your Crying! 12" from 1986 a selection from the classic Sound of the
Westway LP from 1985 and two tracks from the We Don't Wanna Be Prisoners
7" from 1984. Formed in 1982 in Biel Switzerland Chin-Chin are a group
that sits perfectly next to the Ramones, 60's Girl Groups, The Shop
Assistants and Blondie. The sound is instant urgent and with choruses that
stick in your head for days, weeks and years. The songs are perfectly

many years, finally it's time for Yasin Engwer's solo debut EP. His first
contributions date from 2012 when SYS released their first EP on ESHU, the
production trio consisting of Sinan Alakus, Steven Siwalette and Yasin. Also
a recent collaboration with Jocelyn was released on ESHU and he's an

around 1993 or '94, a quietly profound landmark in deep house emerged: The
Relics E.P. by Austin Bascom, better known as Abacus, originally released on
Chicago's Prescription Records (catalogue #006). With four tracks spanning
roughly 26 minutes, this record has since gained cult status among DJs,
collectors, and aficionados of the deeper, more soulful yet futuristic side
of house music. Abacus crafted a quintessential deep-house journey: warm
grooves, lush textures, scorched sub-bass, and a deeply introspective
futuristic atmosphere. Bascom produced a record that never chased trends, but
instead quietly built a lasting legacy. This record remained rare and highly
sought after. In an era when house music was splintering into countless
directions - even reaching the pop charts - The Relics E.P. planted its flag
firmly in the underground, soulful terrain. Collectors and DJs continue to
cite it as essential deep house, often describing it as "one of the
finest deep-house records of all time." Its scarcity and enduring
emotional pull have only strengthened its legend. Decades on, The Relics E.P.

Quartet
Records, in collaboration with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, presents the premiere
vinyl release of the infectious score by Marvin Hamlisch (THE WAY WE WERE,
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, SOPHIE'S CHOICE) for Woody Allen's hilarious classic
BANANAS (1971). The second film directed by Allen was a crazy comedy about a
bumbling New Yorker who is dumped by his activist girlfriend and travels to a
tiny Latin American nation where he becomes involved in its latest rebellion.
As with his previous film, TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN, it's a film based more on
non-stop gags than on plot. Both were huge successes that launched one of the
most prolific and unique careers of the last five decades. As with TAKE THE
MONEY AND RUN, the score was composed by the talented Marvin Hamlisch, two of
the rare occasions that Allen has used original music for any of his films.
Hamlisch provides one of his most elaborate and memorable comedy scores. It
gives us fresh, dynamic catchy tunes dominated by Caribbean rhythms -
including a beautiful love theme, some action music, ironic suspense cues and
two memorable songs: "Quiero la noche" and "Cause I Believe in
Loving". This limited LP edition, pressed on audiophile 180 GM yellow
banana vinyl, features all the music written by Hamlisch for the film in
beautiful, pristine stereo. It has been specially mixed, restored and
mastered for vinyl by Chris Malone |

I was obsessed, am obsessed, by The Groundhogs, so gave C93 a
chance to cover their perfect “Sad-Go-Round” from their perfect Solid album.
I also loved Black Sabbath, but had listened to them so much that I never
wanted to hear them again. So Michael Cashmore’s Perfect Playing of their
intro to “Paranoid” was Perfect Way To Wave GoodBye to them, and slip into my
visions of LUCIFER Over LONDON, May G+D DAMN him AGAIN. “The Seven Seals…” I
wrote whilst sitting at my desk in my Then House in Aubrey Road, London E17
and drinking bottle after bottle of white wine till I collapsed. My cats then
were Mao, Rao, and Yao — and Mao had left up for G+D. Even writing this,
their names now makes my heart break and my eyes fill up. So I will stop
writing them. We all meet again.Remastered from the original tapes by The
Bricoleur at Bladud Flies!, and with the original artwork refreshed and

the past year, No Drama, the label founded by Roy Rosenfeld, has established
itself as a space for creative independence and artistic authenticity. Known
for his refined fusion of house, techno, and downtempo, Rosenfeld channels
the same principles into his imprint, prioritizing artistic freedom,
emotional resonance, and sonic exploration. The label's fourth release, No
Drama V.2, delivers a cohesive four-track EP spanning over twenty-six minutes
of forward-thinking electronic music. Opening with Dubi, Rosenfeld crafts a
composition built on contrasts and playful percussion set against a wistful
melodic backdrop. Over nearly seven minutes, the track unfolds gradually,
expanding into a hypnotic crescendo that captures both dance floorintensity
and introspective depth. Next comes Coral by Dulus, a Colombian-born artist,
based in Santiago, Dominican Republic. With roots in guitar and vocal
performance, his understanding of musical structure permeates the
composition. Layers of subtle vocal textures, resonant basslines, and
scattered sonic details create a sense of depth and movement. The track's
hypnotic progression rewards close listening, revealing intricate nuances
beneath its steady groove. The third track, Pink Hearts, by Sydney-based
producer Luka Sambe, draws from his experience in Australia's festival scene.
Sambe blends melodic house structures with acid-tinged flourishes and offbeat
sonic details. Each element lands with intent, building an infectious energy
that feels effortless yet deeply crafted. Closing the release is Oscar Wave
by Darco, a rising artist celebrated for his immersive live performances that
blend electronic textureswith organic instrumentation. The track channels
early trance influences and Middle Eastern tonalities into an uplifting,
psychedelic journey. Its central section bursts into a wave of euphoric
release, bringing a fitting conclusion to a compilation that celebrates both

maturity evolves into a signature sound, the personal and musical journey
becomes one. Chromadelia by Italian producer and live artist Ness refines two
decades of precision and craft. It is techno reduced to its core logic -
direct, functional, and self-aware. Ness' process moves from spontaneous jams
to detailed sculpting, a continuous sequence where improvisation gradually
becomes structure. Randomness plays a role, but only as the foundation for
his architecture. The result is music that feels both deliberate and fluid,
shaped by intuition and refined through years of practice. Minimalism here
isn't merely an aesthetic choice, but an organic conclusion -- drawn from
experience and the trust that less can truly reveal more. The four tracks on
Chromadelia extend this clarity onto the dance floor: sharp, beepy, metallic,
rhythmically charged, yet open enough to let each element breathe.
Introspection and club-functionality coexist seamlessly, each amplifying the

Cons makes his Crosstown Rebels debut with his latest EP, ‘Give Me Love’. The
three-track exploration of rhythm, tension, and hypnotic club craft lands on
16th January 2026. Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels imprint opens its 2026
release schedule with a special label debut from Romanian favourite Cristi
Cons, as he delivers a magnetic three-tracker in the form of his ‘Give Me
Love’ EP. Known for his precise, minimal-infl ected approach and unwavering
command of groove, Cristi’s arrival onto the label brings a release that
distils his signature tension-and-release architecture into some of its most
direct club form yet. The title track, ‘Give Me Love’, unfolds with subtle
vocal refrains, shadowy atmospheres, and a rolling, elastic groove built for
late-night momentum. On the B-side, ‘Can You Hear Me’ channels a sleeker,
more hypnotic pulse, with dubby textures, restrained bass pressure, hooky
vocals, and a snaking groove to keep dancers moving. Closing the EP, ‘You
Ain’t Got Nothin’ brings vibrant synths, tight drum programming, and more
captivating vocal use into a head-down trip that leans into Cons’s innate
ability to craft late-night and early-hours journeys. A longstanding
architect of Romania’s influential underground, Cristi Cons has carved a
reputation through his solo work, his collaborative SIT project with Vlad
Caia, and their shared imprint, Amphia, which now stands as a true force
within the minimal landscape. Alongside regular appearances across Europe’s
key institutions and collaborations with revered names, including Raresh as
part of their Verico project along with Caia, Cristi continues to evolve with

Spider
Taylor crawls over to Dark Entries with Surge Studio Music, an album of
archival gay pornographic soundtracks. James Allan Taylor was born into a
working-class family in Los Angeles in 1951. Nicknamed “Spider” by his father
due to his frantic energy, Taylor was a natural-born guitarist, gifted with
perfect pitch and a voracious musical appetite. Throughout the 70s, he
expanded his musical repertoire, playing in bands ranging from country to
post-punk, like his outfit Red Wedding, while always looking for new sounds
and styles to explore. During this period, Taylor also partnered with his
soulmate and musical collaborator, Michael Ely. They were part of a wave of
bold, young, gay couples living openly together in the years immediately
following the Stonewall Riots. In the early 80s, while working at the West
Hollywood gay sex club Basic Plumbing, Taylor met Al Parker, the legendary
pornographic actor and director, who recruited Taylor to produce the
soundtrack for a film he was working on. Parker’s partnership with Steve
Scott running Surge Studios produced some of the most popular all-male films
of the era. Spider’s music was a natural fit for Surge, and throughout 1985
and 1986, he composed the soundtracks for five films produced by the iconic
studio. Assisted by engineer Steve Conrad and armed with a drum machine and
some synths, Spider’s compositions for film veer from the expansive,
reverb-drenched “Rainforest” to the Miami Vice-esque chugger “Tech.” While
Spider thought of this work as little more than a gig, tangential to his real
craft, enthusiasts of VHS-era nostalgia and vintage erotica will be brought
to bliss. Surge Studio Music will be available on both LP and CD, the latter
of which includes a 20-minute version of “Strange Places…Strange Things!” as
a bonus track. The album’s cover art was designed by Gwenael Rattke, and
features stylish images from Surge Studios releases. Also included is an
insert featuring liner notes by Will Lewis, a longtime friend of Spider. The
music is released from Spider’s estate by Michael Ely, Spider’s partner of 43
years. The shadow of AIDS lingered over Surge; Steve Scott passed from
AIDS-related illness in 1987, and Al Parker succumbed in 1992. In 2014, when
it became legal for same-sex couples to marry in Arizona, Spider and Michael
finally became wedded. Spider would pass away from liver cancer six months
later |

- IIII, a project by: Machinedrum x Thys x Holly x Salvador Breed. Across its
eleven tracks, 'IIII' dissolves borders between breakbeat, trap-meets-gabber,

philosophy, not genre. The group's working method began playfully in the
studio with a ten-minute egg timer: each member would sketch for ten minutes,

deeply soothing and delicate debut release on the Skintone label. With a
spartan palette of sounds and textures, Yokota taps into a fundamentally
human need to fuse and connect disparate fibres, magically forming work which

a limited-edition CD release of 500 copies. Initially intended for the
Japanese market, it came without any artwork in a standard transparent CD

Nine is a The Hague-based musical collective weaving together soulful
melancholy, minimalist composition and soft grooves. Their debut album,
Disaster Jester, will be released digitally and on 12’’ vinyl on The Hague
imprint PIP Records on November 14th, 2025, celebrated with a release show at
Paard, Den Haag. The album was recorded under guidance of renowned producer
Tijmen van Wageningen, at The Womb Studio. Disaster Jester revolves around
the archetype of the jester, the trickster who embodies both chaos and
wisdom, humour and tragedy. Across the album, music video and cover artwork,
he appears as a clown in a shadowy crime narrative and as a weary detective
who eventually dons the fool’s hat himself. The image becomes a mirror for
the artist: observing, stumbling, laughing & fooling. The track
‘Afgesproken Plek’ features rap artists KC and MC Lost, who provided an
imaginary crime skit playing on the detective persona central in the story
telling of the album. While their universal and timeless sound could travel
anywhere, there’s something distinctly The Hague about Unit Nine; a mix of
irony, unpolished charm, and understated design sensibility. Their city’s
blend of rough edges and refined aesthetics runs through their work and
places the debut album within a historical tapestry of not-so-mainstream
culture and art that the sea town is known to embody |

and outstanding project by Dopplereffekt/Drexciya on Warp! the late James
Stinson, one half of cult-Detroit techno unit (alongside Gerald Donald)
Drexciya, Lifestyles... stands as one of the remarkable records of the genre.
Stinson died a year after release, lending this already beautiful work
endless resonance. Where the dystopian aqua-tronics of previous Drexciya were
often jet-black, cold, brittle and abrasive this is a yearning soul music,
played out down rain soaked streets, the buzzing lights of industry
flickering in the darkness, the warm blue of a new day ready to break. This
is a record where techno reached its raw, most emotive peak... Sustained pads
paint minor-key melodies while electroid-vocals are buried deep in the
hydrothermal mass of squelching bass-clusters and funky-filtered bleeps. At
its skittering percussion core, a stripped back 808 tapestry, sequenced into
myriad jazz-inflected shapes, a pulsing kick drum the snapping heartbeat,
ticking hi-hats bursting from every angle. All this tingles with the ghosts
of records past, of Kraftwerkian humanoids, of first-wave Detroit, of
refracted Hancock and Ayres, but as Stinson intones on the fifth track, ‘let
me be what I wanna be’, Lifestyles is a creation all of its own special
making, a sound that would inspire the latter day deep-house machinations of
Omar S, Jus-Ed, Moodymann and influence –however indirectly- a wealth of
current UK/US bass operators including Actress and Kyle Hall. More
importantly it remains a beguiling epitaph to Stinson’s sadly distinguished
life |
