HAVEN
are back and charging in to the beginning of the year with a new catalogue
number and compilation series. 'Vague Weight Vol. 1' launches the black label
series that will be focused on the intersection of grime, dubstep, break-beat
and other UK bass flavours with the hard and gritty techno sounds the label
has become renowned for. The A1 thrusts us straight in to this sonic world
with an icy 4-4 slammer from Otautahi local legend and 1985 signee Ebb. Grimy
cold square waves, gun reloads and some of the chunkiest drum programming in
the South Pacific come together in this perfect representation of what the
black label series is about. The A2 follows on with this theme with a huge
bassy dance-floor anthem from London-based Irish artist Witch Trials featuring
ghostly melodic hooks, creeping atmospheres and stepping rhythms to close out
the A-side. The B1 begins the flip with UK hardcore stylings from Voitax
regular and bass experimentalist Cressida. Broken beats, monstrous bass
pulses, faded rave synths and diva vocals combine in this huge slab of
break-beat weight from the Berlin-based producer. Finally the compilation
closes with an odd-ball chunk of 4-4 dub experimentation from Swedish HAVEN
legend Peder Mannerfelt, following on from 2020's 'Ensnared' EP.

their second release of 2021 Haven are proud to welcome four brand new
talents to the label for the fourth edition of their "Sardonic
Tonality" VA compilation series. French production powerhouse and
central Wrongnotes member Makornik launches the record at full-steam-ahead
with his heavy roller "Funky Transfusion" on the A1. Perfectly
tuned drum rhythms, tense risers and an addictive vocal loop propel this
opener forward with precise production techniques guaranteed to give dancers
itchy feet. This is followed by a quirky stomper from NYC-based party starter
Buzzi, a founding member of Brooklyn's seminal Black Hole event series, with
"Blablazo" on the A2. Driving Schranz kicks, an uplifting synth
melody and squelchy alien percussion elements combine in another dance-floor
number ripe for the return of nightlife over the coming year. London-based
Greek rising talent and Repitch signee MarcelDune picks up the tempo on the
B1 with rave destruction in "Distorted Perception". Rolling
basslines, relentless drum patterns, wailing synth design and crunchy vocals
fuse together in another colourful smasher that demands moving feet. Finally
upcoming Irish artist Ceili closes the record with his distinctive broken-beat
bruiser "Intinn Do Cheann" following from his outing on Lobster

In 2008 NOFX starred in the TV
show Backstage Passport, a series that documented the insane hijinks of the
band as they weaved an unsteady path through exotic locales where most sane
bands fear to tread. The reality romp originally aired on FUSE and later went
on to be released on DVD, which served up tons of "too hot for TV"
bonus footage. After the resounding success of the series, NOFX have been met
with endless requests for a soundtrack including all the rare and exclusive
songs (5 previously unreleased) from the show. After all, NOFX were beloved
for their music long before their foray into the world of the Kardashians,

Like
an apparition LAS ANIMAS DEL CUARTO OBSCURO emerged in the Mexican
underground scene of the late 80's and vanished quickly after leaving a
couple of coveted artefacts. Before them there were just a few Mexican bands
experimenting with those brand-new rhythms. The ill-fated attempts to play
this style of music, rooted in the simplicity of punk mixed with melancholy
and sombre chords that we nowadays call post-punk. While bands like SIZE or
SILUETA PALIDA flirted with darker music and aesthetics, the path of LAS
ANIMAS DEL CUARTO OBSCURO was different. LAS ANIMAS DEL CUARTO OBSCURO and
Toño Sánchez, the brains behind these spectral sounds, had a deep commitment
to doom and gloom, at least in their first recording. Songs about the decay
you could breathe in the air of Mexico City: Police brutality, urban ghost
stories, suicidal notes, and the loneliness and sadness a sensible person
suffers in an environment that keeps driving you to desensitization and
madness. A true Chilango gothic masterpiece, LAS ANIMAS DEL CUARTO OBSCURO's
first record is an ode to Mexican youthfulness. It's the emotional journey of
a youngster who fights for their existence in a country where tradition rules
and difference is loathed |

The
avant-garde composer and conductor Pierre Boulez was a titan of post/War
experimental classical music. Born in the small cheesemaking town of
Montrbrison in central France in 1925, Boulez studied at the Paris
Conservatoire with the composer and organist Charles Messiaen and received
private tuition from pianist Andrée Vaurabourg, after moving to the Marais
district in 1945, he briefly studied with Schoenberg disciple, René
Leibowitz, and further influence came from immersion in Balinese gamelan, Japanese
classical music and African drumming, among other sources. Earning money by
playing an early electronic keyboard called the ondes Martenot on theatre
productions, Boulez soon became music director of the Renaud-Barrault theatre
company (led by actor/direction Jean-Louis Barrault and his actor wife,
Madeleine Renaud), leading to tours of Belgium, Switzerland, Britain and both
North and South America. American composer John Cage became an ally, though
they subsequently clashed over Cage's commitment to the role of chance in his
compositions, paving the way for an intense and lasting friendship with the
German composer, Karlheinz Stockhausen, who arrived in Paris in 1952 to study
with Messiaen. In July of that year, the pair attended the International
Summer Course for New Music in Darmstadt, leading to contact with Italian
composer Luciano Berio and other noteworthy figures. Then, in 1954, with
backing from Barrault and Renaud, Boulez began staging a series of concerts
of experimental music at the Petit Marigny theatre, titled Le Domaine
musical. The pieces collected on this album are all taken from performances
staged for the 1957 Domaine musical season, beginning with Berio's
"Serenata I," conducted by Boulez, which debuted in Paris in March
of that year, arranged for flute and fourteen instruments, Berio said that
the idea behind the piece was for the solo flute to be confronted by
continuously interchanging elements, rather than mere accompaniments or
oppositions. Boulez's own "Sonatine," composed in 1946 for flute
and piano, is a 12-tone piece that evidences Messiaen's influence, with
shades of Asian classical music in places, then, Stockhausen's monumental
"Zeitmasze" or "Time Measures," a serial composition for
five woodwinds, played in different combinations of tempos and speed, was
partly inspired by Webern's principles of homogenous and harmonic textures.
Finally, Messiaen's 1949 work "Cantéyodjayâ," delivered by pianist
Yvonne Loriod, takes it shape from the classical Hindu rhythms of ancient
India, as with much of the composer's oeuvre |

Quartet
Records and Paramount Pictures present a remastered color vinyl reissue of
the iconic score by Philippe Sarde (GHOST STORY, LORD OF THE FLIES, PIRATES,
CÉSAR ET ROSALIE) for a Roman Polanski horror tale THE TENANT. Based on the
popular novel LE LOCATAIRE CHIMERIQUE by Roland Topor, the film was directed
by Polanski, who also co-wrote the screenplay with his usual partner, Gérad
Brach. It co-stars Isabelle Adjani, Melvyn Douglas, Shelley Winters and Jo
Van Fleet. Although the film was given a cold reception at the Cannes Film
Festival in 1976, over the years it has become a cult film, and one of the
most valued in the career of the famous and controversial Polish director.
THE TENANT was also Polanski's third production with Paramount after the classics
ROSEMARY'S BABY and CHINATOWN. One of the most important aspects of THE
TENANT is that it was the first collaboration between Polanski and composer
Philippe Sarde-who was only 28 years old when he composed the score. The
music featured a complicated orchestration that required an unusual
arrangement of the orchestra. The use of crystal harmonica gives the score a
disturbing and bleak character. Pressed in 140-gram purple vinyl, this LP has
been produced by Neil S. Bulk, supervised and tracks selected by the
composer, remixed by Michael McDonald at Private Island Sound, and freshly
remastered by Chris Malone |

perfect 22 minute 7 track album in 1982 on Namedrop Records (home to Doof,
Philip Johnson and Cold War and ran by Philip Johnson and 12CF guitarist Paul
Platypus). It is a a glorious scratchy DIY indie pop gem with a post punk
spirit. The sound is naive and fragile yet very addictive. Based around
jangly clean guitars, drums that are on the edge of falling apart, haunting
keyboards and a female vocalist that has a knack for a golden pop hook. Hard
not to fall in love with. It's beautiful with a ragged charm that deserves to
be heard by the masses. Anarcho Indie pop anyone??? This reissue 12"
comes with the 16 page booklet that came with the original 10". Twelve
Cubic Feet feature members who did time in bands such as Khmer Rouge, The
Reflections, Solid Space, Doof and What Is Oil? Amongst others. For fans of

The Stockholm-based
psych/60s/garage/indie-act Caesars had a wild ride around the turn of the

world. okgiorgio is a talented young artist and a shining example of Italian
electronic music, celebrated worldwide for his distinctive style that
fascinates me immensely. Exos is an explorer of the most intricate techno,
with his unique Icelandic touch, while Linear System is one of the most
influential figures for those passionate about hypnotic and groovy techno. I
couldn't have hoped for a better lineup for this project. In the end, I also
decided to create a personal remix to infuse an even more hypnotic atmosphere
into the original track. The entire remix pack is an exploration of the
nuances of electronic music, showcasing where we can push its

Checking
back into Token with his unmistakable sound, Nørbak's 'Chuva' delivers four
relentless slices of modern techno. Stretching textures and grilling
circuits, the EP presents itself as a statement expressing a high pressure
dancefloor experience. A proper introduction is never far from the Portuguese
artist who has consistently pulled inspiration from ambient and experimental
music. With one minute of drone to seemingly guide the experience, a swift
switch decidedly flexes 'Sonho'. Bending pitch and texture is a big theme in
'Chuva' and the A1 leaves nothing to the imagination as Nørbak makes his
intentions as clear as ever. Switching to 'Leveza', the producer takes a
minimalist approach with accents on the percussive arrangements. Whipping
delays on off-beat drum hits create an unreal acoustic environment while
maintaining a maximum amount of tension. The synth line remains insistent as
rides and various hi hats urge the track into psychosis with every
transition. The titletrack 'Chuva' takes a similar approach in the power of
warm sound design, but this time we see a focus on warped melodics that are
blissfully mixed in a track constantly bordering on chaos. Opening and
closing the space, Nørbak takes to detuning his main synthline to create eruptive
sections in the record while brewing a storm of ambience in the stereo field.
As the final chapter, 'Capa' bends almost to a break. Rhythmically expressive
in every way, the track drives the EP home with a dangerous bassline and dry
percussion to ride off of it. Signing off for this latest contribution to
Token records, Nørbak's flare in the studio reasserts his position as one of
techno's most anticipated creators of recent years |

Somewhere between revelation and
delusion, Euphoria Bound maps a familiar trajectory: the irresistible pull
towards dissolution, the gradual erasure of memory, the self rendered
irretrievable. It moves between states of consciousness where such distinctions
of enlightenment or self-deception are erased. Across ten tracks, the album
constructs a spectrum of sound that is both ambitious and uncompromising. The
approach here is more direct than recent releases, with textures that
accumulate and disintegrate with renewed urgency |

Originally
released in 1994, MSD - Moonboom is a true cornerstone of Irish dance music
and one of the defining dancefloor anthems of the '90s. Fusing Techno,
Progressive House and raw 303 energy, it became a staple on floors across
Ireland and beyond, a track whose power has only grown with time. Now
beautifully remastered and repressed on the newly launched CeltTribe label,
Moonboom returns sounding bigger and sharper than ever. Created by Fintan
McDonald alongside Dublin DJ Liam Dollard, with Paul Clifford and Peter Coss
present during the original mixdown, the track was produced on a Tac Scorpion
desk using Akai S1000 and S950 samplers, capturing the raw, hardware-driven
spirit of early '90s dance music. Originally released on the Inner Conscience
label, this reissue celebrates Ireland's underground dance heritage and is
expanded with a strong set of 2026 remixes. The "Love Will Save the
Day" Remix delivers a piano-led '90s House groove with nods to New York
and Chicago, reflecting the deep Irish house sound loved in Cork and
Waterford. The Lanzatech Remix is a tribal, acid-fuelled slammer driven by
reworked piano, 303 lines and Detroit-inspired synth pads. Collie's
"Midnight" Dub dives deeper into jazzy, hypnotic territory, while
Ian's Techno Mix pushes Moonboom into darker, harder underground space with
reimagined piano and vocals. A timeless Irish classic, respectfully
reimagined! |

Breakthrough opens a new chapter
for Primal Instinct. After nine releases built around our stickman tribe,
this EP is the first in a new visual era where each cover is sourced from the
open archive of Wikipedia and subtly reworked. Choosing these images is not
aesthetic coincidence but a statement: if the label is about the human
condition, then it makes sense to dig into one of the biggest, most
accessible repositories of our collective memory. For breakthrough, a
karateka high-kicking a punching ball becomes the perfect symbol: direct,
physical, and aimed at breaking through limits-of self, of sound, of format.
