HAVEN
are proud to present the second record in their black label series focused on
the crossover between sounds on the UK bass music spectrum and hard techno
dynamics. This time UK break-beat maestro Mani Festo joins the label for the
first time with an EP of hardcore-inspired dance-floor weaponry alongside a
remix from Swedish experimentalist PederMannerfelt. The A side kicks off with
'Hunterr' with booming vocal cuts, pounding 4-4 kicks and break-beat rhythms
sprinkled throughout for a prime UK hardcore and techno genre crossover slab
of club material. This is followed by the Peder Mannerfelt remix where the
Swedish legend brings his left-of-field sensibilities to the fore, submerging
the vocals in to a ghostly high-frequency spectrum whisper alongside a
looping bass-line and sludgy drum rhythms to close out the first side. The B
side starts with 'Swarmm' - a broken beat roller filled with screeching synth
zaps and a mammoth break-beat in the second half. Up next comes 'Poison' with
its eerie atmospheres and drones sat behind a 4-4 rhythm and charging
break-beats in another dance-floor killer. Finally 'Machine' closes the EP
with its syncopated electro rhythms and funky UK swing alongside chugging
bass plucks and arpeggiated melodies in one more crossover hammer |

The
HAVEN white label series is back after a year's break with the fifth
instalment of the infamous Sardonic Tonality compilation series - this time
with three newcomers to the imprint and one existing label artist visiting
the series for the first time. The A1 kicks off the record with Otautahi
(Christchurch) local techno legend Keanu Raves - a regular DJ at HAVEN events
in their hometown. Booming kicks, rolling percussion, and emotive synth work
come together in this perfect dance-floor killer that's already been making
the rounds at Aotearoa warehouse raves and outdoor parties. Following up is
Valerie Ace on the A2 with a tripped-out slab of techno weight. Eerie synth
textures, creeping vocal whispers and pounding drum rhythms combine in
another delight for all club creatures from the promising German producer. On
the flip French production demon Draugr revisits the label again following on
from his Nine Nights EP at the end of 2021. Menacing melodies, charging drum
work and ominous atmospheres pour out of yet another industrial-tinged
mammoth from the Parisian nightmare weaver. Ending the record is the label
debut of Berlin-based Puerto Rican heavyweight Xiorro. Off-beat bass,
hypnotic percussions, and grungy synth blasts close out the compilation with
another certified club weapon |

Based in the industrial harbour
of Rotterdam, the fresh started 'Self Reflektion' techno imprint presents its
first release. The person responsible for starting the label is stranger, who
also goes by the not-so-mysterious name of Mitchel Polderman in daily life.
His debut release 'Warehouse Memoires' reflects his passion and interest for
the 90's warehouse rave sound in various ways, all produced while living in a
Warehouse down the docks of Rotterdam. Featured on the release are the
original mix, a recording which can be marked as a 2014 warehouse techno
track. The 'UK Rave mix' probably speaks for itself, breakbeat influenced
techno, 90's UK warehouse material. The US Revival mix takes you from Chicago
to New York in 4 minutes, and closing off the release is the Bergweg mix - an
additional DJ Tool for the hoover freaks |

Daphni aka Caribou aka Dan Snaith
has today announced a new album Cherry, his first album since 2017. ‘’Dan
Snaith’s joyous new album as Daphni lets its first-thought-best-thought
spirit shine. Bar for bar, this might be the most fun there is to be had on a
dance record this year.’’ 8.2 Pitchfork. DJ Mag Top 40 Best Albums Of 2022:
'Adventurous and immediate, it tapped into the rapturous, bona fide return to
clubs and festivals'. #25 Pitchfork Best 50 Albums of 2022. 'The only
"classic" pick from this list, I immediately fell in love with the
soothing atmosphere conjured by his sweet tunes, a perfect backbone for
sentimental moments both in the club and the bedroom.' 'Listening to Cherry
is like listening to Snaith dream up future anthems, giving us teases or
blueprints here and there—sometimes tantalizing, sometimes frustrating, but
always moving too quickly to get boring.' RA |

"Shattered" is a song
about hope and perseverance. It is a plea to the listener to see past the
pain and misery life can throw around, to experience the beauty that enables
a perspective that allows us to live the life we want regardless of the
strife. "Safe and Legal" is a direct response to the heightened
threats to abortion rights here in the United States and around the world.
Bad Cop is leveraging their platform to raise awareness and advocate for
universal abortion access |

the twelfth studio Studio album
in their over 25 years of Existence. And unlike many punk Veterans, the band
around punk rock icon and label boss Fat Mike doesn't take it easy at all and
delivers an aggressive and powerful album that and powerful album that fits
perfectly in the long line of NOFX classics classics. They manage like no
other Band to combine the aggression of the early LAPunk Sound with the
technique and finesse of of today's standards. Thematically the band goes
into full swing again - politics and religion are attacked, but personal
personal themes also find their place and give an insight into the soul life
of the Of the singer. Produced by Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Rise Against) |

There's
undeniably a certain kind of environment conjured up by the music of London
Clay: drab municipal housing schemes; concrete walkways; a parade of shops in
a post-war suburb; an underpass running underneath a dual carriageway;
decaying social housing stock; the shadows of new build blocks for young
professionals falling across the ever changing landscape. When they sing
"tarmac shimmers, no future plans" you can feel this sense of place
pressing in on the songs, shaping the melodies like they're harmonising with
the wind blowing through scaffolding sheets, the rhythms reflecting the sound
of jackhammers and wrecking balls. This description perhaps makes their music
sound somewhat uninviting, and whilst it is suffused with a certain amount of
urban claustrophobia and late night paranoia, there's also a lightness of
touch that illuminates the dark corners - the gentle tone of a human voice
and memorable repeating keyboard motifs offsetting the industrial chug. And
whilst you can locate this music on a broad spectrum of post-punk (that most
malleable and co-opted of genre terms), particularly the sounds of early
1980s Sheffield, there's a more varied sonic palette at play than that might
suggest. At various points as you listen to this record you can hear: the
looped sound of a dot matrix printer as percussive texture; a delay-blasted
guitar weaving in and out of arpeggiated synth bursts; a descending piano
line that sounds like it's haunting the corridors of a deserted school hall;
a cluster of distorted loops building to a crescendo that wouldn't sound out
of place next to mid-period Autechre; the jacking drum machine intro to one
track almost verging on acid house; the terms and conditions of a marketing
offer repeated to the point of hypnotic trance. Despite any broad and
subjective comparisons, this record is of course its own thing, an end result
that is certainly more than the sum of its parts, the mood that is
established unique to this band and these songs, the listener drawn
inexorably into their world. Tracks rise and fall like the continuous
destruction and reconstruction of the capital skyline, a mental map to locate
the essence of London Clay |

The
larynx or voice box is a small organ located towards the top of the neck in
humans and some other animals. Constructed largely of cartilage, it houses
the vocal folds that allow for the manipulation of pitch and volume, which
are essential for the phonation of spoken speech. It is also involved in
bringing air to the lungs when we breathe and it protects the windpipe when
we swallow. However, those unfortunate to experience the potentially fatal
malignant tumours of laryngeal cancer will have their larynx removed,
resulting in a traumatic loss of speech< thankfully, as this rare record
issued by Smithsonian Folkways in 1964 demonstrates, removal of the larynx
does not necessarily spell the end of speech for such blighted individuals.
Instead, through developments in artificial voice creation, patients could
learn to employ modes of vocal communication again. The album was recorded by
physician Harm A. Drost at the Phonetic Laboratory of the Ear, Nose and
Throat Dept of the University Hospital, Leiden, in the Netherlands, working
under the direction of Professor H. A. E. van Dishoeck. As the advances were
fairly new and surprisingly varied, Drost felt a phonograph album
demonstrating the techniques would be useful for those in the field. The album
thus features a narrator explaining aspects of several different techniques,
followed by examples of patients employing them. Buccal speech (limited to
certain consonants), parabuccal speech (collecting air in a space between the
upper jaw and the cheek), glosso-pharyngeal speech (a method deemed obsolete
where air is forced between the tongue and the palate), esophageal voice
(made by reconditioning one's esophagus via swallowing, suction or
injection), various injection techniques and devices such as the
larynxophone, pipa di tichioni and "western electric" are all
explored here, along with other aspects of the larynx and its absence. Speech
After The Removal Of The Larynx is definitely one of the strangest albums
ever given a commercial release! |

Quartet
Records and Studiocanal present Academy Award-winner Jerry Goldsmith's
thrilling score in an exclusive limited 2-LP reissue, pressed on Martian-red
vinyl and featuring the 30th anniversary artwork by Kyle Lambert. Directed by
Paul Verhoeven (ROBOCOP, BASIC INSTINCT) and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger
and Sharon Stone, TOTAL RECALL helped change the future of cinematic imagery,
while Goldsmith's score marked a culmination of styles and techniques the
composer had developed over four decades of composing for film and
television. TOTAL RECALL represents one of the iconic composer's last
masterpieces, recorded with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of London,
under his own baton. For this vinyl release, Quartet has mastered from the
48kHz/16-bit stereo mixes created in 2015, allowing fans of the film and of
great music to experience the intrigue, the action, and the exotic world of
TOTAL RECALL like never before. All of this material has been entirely
remixed from the original digital multi-track tapes by Goldsmith's longtime
scoring mixer, Bruce Botnick. Produced by Neil S. Bulk and Botnick, and
specially remastered for vinyl by Mr. Botnick with lacquers mastered by
Bernie Grundman, this new edition has been pressed in Martian-red vinyl, and
includes a separate 4-page insert featuring authoritative liner notes from
film music writer Jeff Bond that includes interviews with Botnick, music
editor Ken Hall, and director Paul Verhoeven |

Third
full length from Somerset trio Henry Blacker, follow up to 2013-s Hungry Dogs
Will Eat Dirty Puddings and 2015-s Summer Tombs. As with the first two Riot
Season is again taking on the release. HB Formed because there-s nothing to
do in Somerset. HB Formed because the other band they do (Hey Colossus)
rehearse in London and they wanted a band they didn-t need to travel the
width of the country to jam with. This nine song 40 minute record lyrically
covers the downtrodden, shaking them with lysergically gloopy riffs of both
the upbeat and downbeat nature. it is perfectly suited for 30 people in a bar
having a night of pints. Or a packed venue in some exotic hot spot full of
characters having a night of white wines. Or would sit nicely soundtracking a
person at home secretly having a night of cans alone, drowning their misery
under the weight of an 8 pack of European strength lager. Inspiration comes
from all the desert rock bands and angular punk rock bands that always get
listed on these things, you can imagine. Bands that list bands on these
things that they want you to think they sound like are ridiculous. They did
recently get included on a recent Bandcamp piece> -Top Ten UK Noiserock
bands-, but that list didn-t include Drunk In Hell so it-s not to be trusted.
This record was recorded in Bristol and Barton St David by Ben Turner. Look
up Barton St David, it-s in the middle of nowhere and it-s really lovely.
It-s also where HB rehearse. It-s got it all, and biscuits on top |

A reissue of the third single on
All the Madmen Records from 1980. The single was recorded at Spaceward
Studios in Cambridge where The Mob, Swell Maps and Stiff little Fingers all
recorded. Andy Stratton was a sixteen year old punk from Somerset who hung
out with The Mob and the Yeovil punks. The drummer on this single was Graham
Fallows who was still a member of The Mob at the time these two songs were
recorded. Andy had never played a gig under his name but decided to go into a
studio and record these two gems. I Don't Know is a glorious punk pop nugget
that has style and sass. Think a mix of the Buzzcocks' Pete Shelley vocally
Pete Fender's only 7" Four Formulas (For The Eradication Of Microbes)
and the early Good Vibrations records releases. The flip Evil Minds is a more
laidback and bleak track that leans heavily on the influence of the Mob.
After this 7" Andy went on to form the greatly under appreciated Null
and Void |

The Mings remain an exciting
garage-surf-punk'n'roll trio. On their album 'Can't Win', one can expect some
raw, screaming killer-tunes out of the garage - snotty, wild and lofi-surf
tunes. Cool, crazy and fun at the same time. Dead Ming (Dead Elvis), Bald
Ming (Sir Bald Diddley), Wild Ming (Marky from Dead Rocks) deliver one hell
of a blistering LP |

Brazil's
finest and wildest unconventional garagepunkers present their fabulous album
number nine: Autointitulado. It is no surprise that it is called
"self-titled" as it seems to be very immediate and autobiographic.
Its fantastic coverartwork by Gustavo Cruzeiro shows the four musicians as
comic-superheroes fighting our times of crisis, namely covid and recent chaos
and crisis, which is also processed in their music and lyrics. The album
starts off with the strong and powerful "Nóias Normais" that gets
you in that typical angry and unmistakable Autoramas mood right away. Catchy
melodies and vocals by both Gabriel Thomaz and Erika Martins run all the way
through the album while you get the right amount of wild and
Autoramas-distorted guitars, crazy organ and comic-style elements in songs
like "Boneco" and "Erupto". The album was released on CD
and vinyl on the Brazilian label Maxilar Music for the Brazilian market only,
while the Soundflat release of the LP finishes off with the exclusive bonus
track "I Wanna Be Your Man" - a very fierce and wild version of the
Beatles classic and a perfect ending to an explosive record to be played over
and over again |

The Genesis of The Ark was this
1996 debut EP now released on vinyl for the very first time. The Ark EP, also
known as Racing with the Rabbits, was recorded in 1994 and 1995 and released
in 1996 and provides a unique insight into the early years of the band. The
record is heavier and rawer than their future string of hits and there are
prog references that wouldn't be so easily detectable later on. But the
fundamental elements of their polished, bombastic and theatrical style is
already in place and the title track would occasionally be part of the band's
live sets more than ten years down the road |

Born from multiple facets of the
storied London hardcore scene, False Reality is a living embodiment of the
genre's core values; connection, strength, and cutting through the
facetiousness. Coming together through various factions of the scene's
ecosystem, the four piece have cemented a reputation as one of the scene's
most dominating live forces, bringing years of heavily honed stage presence
to the fore. Today, the band announce FADED INTENTIONS; a debut album that is
far from just a follow up to last year's riotously received Path of Self
Destruct EP, but a huge sonic advancement that finds one of the UK's most
bruising hardcore units expanding their horizons and uncovering the
multitudes of human existence in the process |

Malmo-based producer Martinou
returns to his roots with a debut on hometown label Kontra-Musik. Since
crafting his first album for Nous'Klaer Records (NL) at Inkonst's studio,
Martinou has steadily built an international presence through acclaimed
releases on Mule Musiq (JP) and Turbo Recordings (CA). This three-track EP is
the result of a long-running dialogue with label head Ulf Eriksson--blending
Detroit-inspired techno, hypnotic depths and broken lush, all produced with
subtle precision and emotional weight. A homecoming of sorts, but also a new
departure |

After recent Ron Allen reissues
on Emotions Electric and our own Classic Cuts imprint, it's time to revamp
the mothership itself: Strobe Records. First one up in this new campaign is
R.A.S.E.'s The Ron Allen Sound Experience EP -- a four-tracker, originally
out in 1991, that captures what is timeless about Allen's signature sound:
warm basslines, soulful vocals, and that Toronto swing. The A-side serves up
two uplifting mixes of Get On Up, while the B-side goes deeper, yet keeping
the soul fully intact. A perfect reintroduction to one of Canada's prime
house architects |

Featuring a pounding cover of The
Troggs' "I Can't Control Myself" on the topside - James was the
world's biggest Troggs fan, and he would occasionally venture out from behind
his drums (handing his sticks to Brad Shepherd) to sing this one for an
encore in his Hoodoo Gurus days - and the hilarious and raunchy New York
Dolls-inspired original "Born To Be Punched" (which sounds like a
long lost track by another of James' faves the Hollywood Brats) on the flip,
the single was recorded not long after James and the Gurus parted ways. It
features a young Tex Perkins on bass and James' mate from Scientists and
later Dubrovniks day, Rod Radalj as well as Tex's mate Stu Spasm on guitars |

InDepth Imprint launches its
debut release with a forward-thinking V.A. bringing together UFO95, Hadone,
Raar, Initial Code and Clara D. The label focuses on bridging avant-garde
sound exploration with club-driven functionality. This first release is built
on audio material recorded during a collaborative residency at Willem Twee
Studios, using its unique collection of mid-20th-century scientific
instruments repurposed for music. Each artist was invited to explore their
own creative path, resulting in a highly distinctive record where
experimental textures meet precision-engineered techno. The outcome is a
coherent yet diverse sonic statement that sets the artistic direction for
InDepth Imprint: immersive, concept-driven and deeply connected to contemporary
club culture |

(2LP,
High quality records in gatefold sleeve with extended liner and song notes)
On October 2 1958, after over 60 years of colonial rule, Guineans voted
overwhelmingly for their independence, and Guinea was declared a Republic
with Sékou Touré as President. Guinea was the first of West Africa’s
Francophone colonies to gain independence. To free Guinea from its colonial
legacy, president Touré sought to restore dignity to his nation and give
cause for Guineans to take pride in their culture, history and newfound
freedom. To achieve this, he instructed his government to implement new
cultural policies that were intended to revitalise and celebrate indigenous
culture. The focus of these new policies was on music. In 1961, President
Touré launched authenticité, the name of his new cultural policy for Guinea.
One of its first acts was to assemble the best Guinean musicians into a new
state-sponsored orchestras that were tasked with presenting traditional
Guinean music in a new and modern style. All musicians in Guinea’s orchestras
were officially designated as members of the public service. During the years
of Sékou Touré’s presidency (1958 – 1984), the government’s cultural policy
of authenticité was applied strictly to the creative arts. Guinea’s sole political
party, the Parti Démocratique de Guinée exercised complete authority over
artistic production. The scale of the Guinean government’s commitment and
efforts to invigorate its indigenous musical cultures was unmatched in
Africa, and it presented a clear contrast to the minimal endeavours
undertaken by Guinea’s former colonial rulers. From 1967 to 1983, Guinea’s
government presented selections of songs from the Voix de la Révolution
catalogue on its own recording label, Syliphone. These recordings were
described as ‘the fruit of the revolution’. Syliphone was revolutionary in
many aspects: it was the first recording label to feature traditional African
musical instruments such as the kora and balafon within an orchestre setting;
it was the first to present the traditional songs of the griots within an
orchestre setting; and it was the first government-sponsored recording label
of post-colonial Africa. Syliphone represented authenticité in action, and
over 750 songs were released by the recording label on 12-inch and 7-inch
vinyl discs. All are highly sought after by collectors worldwide. This is the
second of a two-volume release which presents a selection of the best songs
from Guinea's Syliphone recording label. This volume focuses on recordings
from the 1970s, when Guinea’s authenticité policy had transformed the
nation's music through a network of over 30 orchestras, each representing
their local region, and each presenting Guinean musical traditions alongside
the influences of Cuban music, jazz and funk |

Modeight
proudly adds another chapter to its vinyl legacy with Fedo - a Ukrainian
artist with deep Greek roots, known for his meditative groove architecture,
percussive depth, and the raw spirit of live music. On Nuke Hook EP, Fedo
delivers four deep and dynamic cuts that strike a perfect balance between
minimalistic precision and emotional richness. Each track feels lived-in -
jammed rather than programmed - crafted to resonate both on the dancefloor
and in the mind. "Life is Life" opens with a thick, dubby beat and
a jagged, growling bassline. Midrange sequences curl around the low-end like
vapor trails, creating a shadowy, hypnotic space built for late hours and
strobe-lit intimacy. "Madam from Athens" pays homage to his
Hellenic roots - dipping into dreamy chords, textured atmospheres, and
modular motifs wrapped in velvety vocals. Warm and transportive, it's a love
letter to place and memory. On the flip, "After Out" hits hard.
Sub-heavy, percussive, and driven by acidic synth lines, it's a peak-time
weapon that doesn't ask - it commands. Rounding off the EP is the cerebral
yet groovy "Nuke Hook," where crisp percussion dances around
mysterious piano phrases and immersive textures. A subtle but magnetic closer
that lingers long after the drop. Fedo joins the Modeight family with a
statement of intent - deep, expressive, and forged in the heart of the
underground. The journey continues |

With Dark Matter EP, Rambal
Cochet continues his exploration of the fringes of electronic music, where
ritual, cosmic and hypnotic sounds create a soundscape between mysticism and
science fiction. The EP moves naturally between rhythms, atmospheres and synthetic
lines from a lost rave futurism. Each track has its own journey in a single
narrative, with deep bass, percussive patterns oscillating between trance,
downtempo and global influences, and a melodic sensibility that is both
distinctive and accessible. Dark Matter EP is a work that celebrates the
visionary and cinematic side of Rambal Cochet, mixing mystery, spirituality
and club pulsation for the dance floor and listener. Perfect for seeking
emotional intensity and imagination, or for an immersive, timeless listening
experience |

Kyoto-based Stones Taro is a
producer and DJ who has established a unique standing within the global dance
music scene. After operating the NC4K label since 2017, he embarks on a new
challenge by launching his own self-release series. The inaugural release,
titled "Foglore," is characterized by its foggy sound design and
timeless arrangements reminiscent of folk tales. In this four-track release,
Stones Taro explores a fresh interpretation of the fusion between Dub,
Techno, and Deep House. These tracks capture the essence of contemporary
music in intriguing ways, yet feel as familiar as if they have existed since
ancient times |

Between Faith and Noiz represents
the exact point where faith and inner chaos coexist. It's an introspective
journey toward the center of the mind: the space where thought becomes
distorted, where sound turns into a reflection of doubt, where faith is tested
within one's own noise. Noiz symbolizes that internal, mental, and emotional
noise that distorts reality - the voices, the interference, the overload of
stimuli. Faith, on the other hand, is the thread that keeps direction, the
spark that survives when everything vibrates and collapses. The EP portrays
that invisible struggle between believing and falling apart, between the
silence that soothes and the noise that purifies. Each track acts as a stage
of that journey: the oath (Faith and Oath), the wound (Ulcerate), the essence
(Oxeo), the connection (Captures Spirits), and finally, the release (Noiz).
It's not about finding faith outside, but rebuilding it from within the noise |

After years of refining his
sound, Decoder presents "Prakasa", an album that explores the
emotional and expressive side of his soundscape. Its subtle shifts and
surprising moments create space for the listener to get lost, to imagine, and
to find something unexpected in every track. The album takes its name from
the Sanskrit word meaning "light" and "manifestation," a
concept reflected clearly in the cover artwork and central to Decoder's
vision. Planet X is honored to release such a powerful yet delicate album-one
that feels equally at home in intimate listening settings as it does in clubs
and festivals worldwide |

140g black bio-vinyl (500 copies worldwide). 8-page lyric / drawing booklet,
glossy poster, download card (inc. mp3s), white inner paper bags, sticker on
cover. After 7 strange years of relative silence, and 13 years of being a
band, Dog Chocolate have returned with ‘So Inspired, So Done In’. Their
fourth album is their most focused, cohesive and song-y yet. They still sound
like a bin full of wasps, but now the bin has double-cream or a Viennetta or
something at the bottom. While many of the 16 songs on here barely make it
past the 3-minute mark, each one is bursting with all the textures and
colours of an office cupboard: full of old sweets, fluorescent markers, and
multiple ways to fix paper together. Thematically, a lot of ground is covered,
with songs tackling subject matter as diverse as overheard conversations,
healing fungal toenails, the Rogerian concept of the Actualising Tendency,
bronze age living conditions, dreaming songs into being and human-plant
relations. Work (and anti-work) is a recurring theme, as is artistic
inspiration and burnout. Dog Chocolate revel in the mundane and incidental,
to explore bigger, existential questions. Recorded and mixed by POZI’s Toby
Burroughs and mastered by Sofia Lopes, ‘So Inspired, So Done In’ charts a
long and confusing period in the band’s collective life, marked by major life
changes, losses and shifts, colouring the band’s trademark frantic, daft and
anxious energy with a contemplative glaze. Dog Chocolate continue to
investigate their internal and external landscapes with playful curiosity,
frustration, silliness and empathy. Pre/history of the band: In the early
2000’s Andrew (vocals), Rob (guitar, vocals) and Matthew (guitar, vocals)
played together as teenagers in South-East London-based maximalist, costumed
surrealist punk band Yeborobo. They met drummer Jonathan playing with his
instrument-swapping masked band Limn at art space Utrophia in Deptford.
Later, when both bands had split, Dog Chocolate formed with a shared desire
to make a band that was simpler than their theatrical past: small amps and
light guitars, no more than 2 drums at any one time, a keyboard no longer
than a ruler and a shared ethos… “it’s about giving a shit, but at the same
time not giving a shit, but not ‘whatever’, not giving up never!”. The band
floated the term “pencilcase punk” to describe their jumbled, colourful,
dense and instant music. Dog Chocolate built on this early scrappiness,
bedding into their sound over several albums. Their first “Or” (2014) was a
split with Ravioli Me Away, soon followed by “Snack Fans” (2016) and “Moody
Balloon Baby” (2018). Along the way they played gigs with bands as wide
ranging as Deerhoof, No Age, Dry Cleaning, Palm, Daniel Wakeford, Shopping
and Pozi. With a tendency to converse with each other both lyrically and
musically cultivated over many years, the members of Dog Chocolate bounce off
each other, respectfully disagree, try to make each other laugh and share
some of their most vulnerable feelings with each other. ‘So Inspired, So Done
In’ is their own unique offering during these unsteady times: a language of
friendship translated into songs |

Hanyo van Oosterom lived in the
small cave of the Kallikatsou in the early eighties, finding inspiration
there for the Chi project (1983-1986). From the nineties to 2006 he created
drones, loops, samples and soundscapes, traveling numerous times annually
back and forth to the Kallikatsou for fine-tuning. With the Original
Recordings and Bamboo Recordings, both strongly connected to the Kallikatsou,
creating the perfect timeframe, ?the circle [is] closed. Together these
recordings reflect and express the different aspects of the experience. A

Barking-born
Jane Fitz, and Transmigration label founder David Fogarty, curate a
collection of tracks from East London and Essex’s rich but largely overlooked
constellation of independent record labels and distributors operating from
London’s E16 to the edges of the Thames estuary during the 1990s. Mysterious Vastness documents a hidden
and largely detached scene that only forms into something coherent with
hindsight. From a time when record labels could press and hand-distribute
1000 copies locally, the late 80s acid house and outdoor rave scenes were
moving from the fields to the clubs of London and DJs such as Colin Dale,
Colin Faver and Darren Emerson were dominating the airwaves and parties with
a distinct mix of other-worldly techno, trance and out-there house music.
Among the seemingly bland post-war housing estates and factories, a scattered
handful of producers were experimenting with early versions of music
production software to create an exotic, end-of-the-century soundtrack to the
suburban-meets-industrial landscape.
The compilation features a selection of finds from East London’s
second hand record or charity shops over a period of 15 years. Many of which
have featured in Jane’s sets over the years, most notably the “Beyond The
A13" Podcast for Furthur Electronix. A mix she described at the time as
the soundtrack to an area of London “totally bereft of natural beauty, but to
me, somehow always full of mystery and wonder |

For
a few years, Slovakian born & Czech-based artist pantata (Stefan Barcak)
has been making music for himself, while running a record store slash coffee
bar (called 25,2 rpm) in Prague. Over the course of a month in 2024 pantata
made many songs with different analog machines and selected the favourite
tracks out of this. His music is very laidback -almost empty- analog music
that reminds of K. Leimer and Tara Cross mixed with Czech & Slovakian
childhood memories and love and honesty of nowadays memories. "I was
born on March 3, 1998, in a small town in eastern Slovakia. In the distance,
you could see the Slovak mountains. That image of big mountains on the
horizon still inspires my work today. In my early years, before my family and
I moved to Prague, I was quite an outsider, I liked drawing and painting and
I never stopped. Nowadays, I have a nice setup at home. A few synths:
Sequential Circuits Six-Trak, Pro-One, Yamaha DX7, Roland Juno, JP-8000, S-1
(a small SH-101 clone), and classic Roland drum machines like the 909 and
707. I also use a few effect pedals, an old mixer, and a Tascam Portastudio
where I record everything to tape. When I make a track, I usually need to
finish it in one day. I start playing my instruments, and whatever feeling I
have that day needs to be recorded. If I leave a song for tomorrow, I might
lose the feeling and feel something completely different, so I prefer to
start a new track instead." |

The
Miller joins Backspin with a potent six-track EP that explores the sharper,
groovier edges of techno. 'Loops & Tonic' is a no-frills, rhythm-forward
toolkit. It's percussive, hypnotic and full of old-school motion. The A-side
opens with 'It Was Just A Knife', a tribal-driven looper layered with
Detroit-reminiscent synths. The track is a subtle nod to the past, wrapped in
tight modern production. Peak OG hardgroove. 'Tryck' dials up the tension
with broken rhythms, tripped-out cymbals and bleeps, adding a leftfield touch
without losing the percussive thread. The B-side brings out the funk. 'Snake
Venom' and 'Sax' strip techno down to its rolling essentials: it's all about
punchy drums, melodic accents and a steady forward drive. The vinyl closes
with the 'Groove Cut' version of the digital-only track 'Bastard', a remix by
legendary producer Gaetano Parisio that reimagines the original into a
leaner, melodic trip with clean basslines and spaced-out synth work. Two
digital-only tracks round out the EP: the raw original version of 'Bastard'
and 'Megadrive', a rolling piece featuring dreamy synth stabs and crisp
percussion, both perfect for late-night transitions or deep floor moments.
The fifth release of Regal's label Backspin Records is a versatile, groovy
and characterful techno record. The Miller's 'Loops & Tonic' EP is a
proof that the most effective techno doesn't shout - it rolls, hits and
lingers. It's the perfect record for floors that never stop moving |

4 To The Floor is committed to
delivering seminal house music to wax, making sought after heritage tracks
readily available on vinyl for crate diggers to add to their collections.
Classics Volume 2 kicks off with a slice of Defected 2012 goodness; ‘Around
(Solomun Vox)’ by Noir & Haze. When Solomun took his turn at remixing
this Ibiza anthem, it was heard everywhere from Hackney warehouses to Pacha
Ibiza, and showed a different side to the heavier original. On the B-Side is
the Moodymann Edit, where he makes subtle changes to Solomun’s mix by
interweaving tribal drums and stripping back some of the techier elements,
followed by Chicken Lips’ electro banger ‘He Not In’ which thunders through.
An instantly recognisable record, even if they’re not aware of its name or
who wrote it, with an unmistakable bassline that has truly stood the test of

Ohio's
O'Jays were a hugely popular part of Philadelphia's PIR stable throughout the
1970's and 80's. They cut numerous sides for the label aided by the
incredible production and arrangements of the infamous Gamble and Huff hit
machine. This special 4 track EP includes some of the absolute evergreen,
stellar and downright soulful tracks they are most known for. It's all here.
Influential, uplifting, inspiring and soulful music that will touch everyone.
From the string laden and lush extended proto Disco joy of 1975's 'I Love
Music', to the deep and soulful Philly stylings of 'Back Stabbers', 'Message
In Our Music' & 'My Favourite Person', all of the music contained within
this amazing collection is utterly essential if you dig Soul, Funk, Disco, Gospel
and even House music. This is it. The real deal. These are some of the roots
of contemporary dance music, the building blocks. On top of that, it's simply
great music, a solid and essential addition to any record collection from one
of the greatest vocal groups of the era, not to mention the world calls
production, arrangement & execution from the legendary Gamble & Huff.
A real no brainer this one... This is a fully legit reissue, made in
conjunction with Above Board distribution and Sony music, sourced from their
vaults using original source material and remastered and repressed to the
highest standard for 2018 and featuring all original PIR label artwork.
Here's your chance to own yet another essential stone cold classic from the

Echonomist
drops debut Rekids EP with ‘My Religion’. He follows his recent remix for
Frankey & Sandrino on the label with collaborations with OVEOUS and Ede.
Greece’s Echonomist, aka Petros Manganaris, returns to Rekids with the ‘My
Religion’ EP, arriving 30th January 2026 and featuring collaborations with
OVEOUS and Ede. It follows his 2025 remix for Frankey & Sandrino, which
won plays from HAAi, John Digweed, Auntie Flo, and more, alongside recent
music on labels like Habitat, Innervisions, and its sublabel, Exit Strategy.
Echonomist’s ‘My Religion’ EP opens with the title track, where he teams up
with Hyper Soul founder OVEOUS for a loopy, hypnotic cut driven by an
alarm-like sequence and tripped-out spoken word vocal. OVEOUS returns on ‘We Surrender’,
adding psychedelic, warped phrases over deep bass and an infectious clap-led
groove. On the flip, Echonomist joins fellow Innervisions artist Ede for ‘The
Heat’, a heavy-hitting, party-starter packed with larger-than-life sirens,
big snare rolls, and funky sample work. Petros closes the EP solo with
‘Master Groove’, pairing the drums back while echoing spoken lines ride above
an irresistible bassline, rounding off a versatile release built to land with
adventurous listeners and on peak-time floors alike. Greek DJ, producer, and
live performer Petros Manganaris became Echonomist in 2008 and has since
become known for his prolific output on labels Innervisions, Afterlife,
Kompakt, TAU, and more, alongside collaborations with the likes of WhoMadeWho
and numerous top-tier remix projects for Âme, Ry X, and Stephan Bodzin |

The
second vinyl release on Platz fur Tanz continues the narrative of techno's
past and future. Experienced artists reinterpret the shadowy vibe of
dancefloors around the world, giving it new form and depth. The record opens
with a track by Swedish techno futurist Lakej, featuring his signature sound
of machinery on a working factory floor. The music immediately transports you
into the industrial atmosphere of a rave. This time, the Italian-born,
Berlin-based artist VSK takes us on a journey through the emotional waves of
deep techno. A slightly jazzy groove makes this track perfect for pick time
dancefloors. Latvian producer Ksenia Kamikaza stays true to her style,
transporting us into a world of visualized melodies and rhythms. The bassline
sets the groove, while the unhurried rhythm allows you to fully surrender to
the dance. Liza Aikin brings an uncompromising Berlin vibrations to the
release, reminding us how a true rave should sound. Her style is not heavy
but persistent. Liza never stops experimenting, and this track will be a
highlight of any DJ set. Another Latvian electronic talent closes the
release. Igors Vorobjovs blends the best of electro and techno in his track.
Nervous rhythms and loud sounds stir the emotions, while the raw, untamed
resonance will leave no true connoisseur of feral techno indifferent |

Prolific
beat pharmacist par excellence Brendon Moeller continues his hot streak with
a return to Samurai to serve up the exquisite craftsmanship of Shadow
Language. Across 15 fresh productions the seasoned house and techno producer
demonstrates yet more variations on his rejuvenated sound since pivoting
towards 160 tempo zones. Heavyweight dub techno pulses collide with D&B
pressure and dubstep snarl, delivered with devastating restraint and
mediative warmth. Moeller's dub-informed, high-grade production hit a hot
streak as he started to experiment with faster tempos and more broken
rhythms, reaching into thrilling new sound fields where fast-slow rhythmic
intrigue meets with spatial subtlety and constantly evolving synth voices.
The past year has seen him release a swathe of albums, from Further on
Samurai to outings on Constellation Tatsu, ESP Institute and Quiet Details
that all burst with inspiration, each distinct from the last and offering an
original perspective on this rich seam of crossover electronics. Shadow
Language shows Moeller burrowing even deeper into this new era of his work,
continuing the hypnotic approach set out on Further while edging more
forthright ingredients into the mix. From the outset 'Division By Zero' hits
with immediacy even as it dips into a dubwise breakdown, with snatches of
vocal and even the iconic loom bird making the slightest of appearances.
'Feral Hymn' finds a curious kind of uplift in the synth chord that twists in
and out of the mental techno murmurations of the rhythm section.
'Impermanence' has some snarling bass that belongs in the gnarliest
tech-step, while the nagging hats ticking through 'Junkyard Syntax' hint at a
shockout without resorting to brute force. The majestic dub techno chords of
'Driftform' create a through-line across Moeller's extensive catalogue, but
here they dominate the mix above a spongy bed of sub bass throb and framed by
the tiniest slithers of percussion. Throughout the album, it's the
implications Moeller suggests with the tools at his disposal that create a
powerful energy. Restraint governs the delivery, guiding the listener in
deeper until they find a maximal experience from each elegantly understated
roller. The weight and presence is abundant across every track, fuelled by
the invigorating power of each tone and frequency while avoiding the clutter
of overloaded arrangements. Finding the notes in between and half-hidden
rhythms, Moeller himself perfectly summed up his latest opus as he continues
to develop his own compelling Shadow Language |
