Farrago created a name for
himself in this short time taking back the real roots of techno and rave and
putting them in a new context... we said new, not different. This is his 3rd
record on the label, and this time he goes beyond the idea of reminiscing the
past, 'Hard Light' shows how the rave can be alive in everyone of us, and
absolutely not changing the formula he gives us this beautiful feeling of
being back in the past, while you dig in a record shop and you find something
that hits you, in our past was that record that gave us memories. In this
case the work of this record is almost double, the record itself reminisces
the past, but gives good hope for the future of genuine rave music without
compromises |

The first vinyl LP by
Moscow-based Boris Solomatin also known as DJ Kassir. An outsider from the
beginning, this singular producer has shaped his universe around the denial
of common sense. Obsessed with absurdity, confusion and weirdness in everyday
life, he creates his own narrative where low quality is part of the message.
His layering of obscure sound artifacts into psychedelic collages makes the
music seem like a sonic counterpart to Russian meme culture. He acts as a
modern ragman pursuing the documentation of this delirious post-reality using
the language of sound. The album consists of the works created by him and his
fellow producers around 2015-2017 and it's truly a blessing that these
haven't been lost and are finally available on vinyl |

Sorang,
the debut album of Yalta native Wulffius, represents his work over the last
eight years. The playful creature on the cover, Stone Eater, is based on
childhood sketches of producer's father. The name of the album alludes to the
first collection of his father's poems, which took its name from a short
story by Konstantin Paustovsky, a master of nature writing in Russian prose.
Sorang is the name of the south wind that "blows once in
centuries", and you can hear its unique warmth in these tracks. There is
a sense of wholeness here, and a palpable style and atmosphere that permeates
the individual pieces. Wulffius creates what he himself refers to as
"B-sides": something too strange to be danceable, with
"complex ease" and rhythmical variety. The music has a charming
serenity and beauty thanks to Wulffius' intuitive approach, which is
childlike and whimsical in the best possible sense. By the way, Paustovsky
wrote Sorang in an hour and a half at a speed writing competition. You can
hear a similar spontaneity here, but make no mistake, this is the work of a
master and has been crafted over a period of years. It all comes from
experience |

Up until now, the only thing
these four crooks were good at making was toilet wine in the joint, but we
sent them into Atlas Studios to record with Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, Less
Than Jake, Smoking Popes, etc.) and out came a pop-punk/power-pop masterpiece.
They looted a vault of hooks, melodies, and many-layered harmonies for this
debut full-length. Think Descendents meets Weezer in a dark alley! There's
already plenty of squealers and snitches talking about MASKED INTRUDER, and
these thugs have been invited to play all the cool festivals and will be
touring with Teenage Bottlerocket in support of this release. It's fun stuff
and you're gonna like it...or else. Take it from us at Fat, we got so caught
up in the felonious spirit that we stole the band and their debut release
right from under Red Scare's nose, not two month after they put |

2013 reisuue! 'Born on the First
of July' is the album that put Chixdidiggit on the map, and established them
as one of the best bands in the pop-punk genre. The band has had sporadic
output over the past decade or so, but still tours often and puts out music
when they get around it. But the original twelve plus one tracks on this
album are almost perfect in their imperfection, and should be required
listening for anyone wanting to dip their toes in the pop-punk gen |

JJ AND THE A'S releases their
first 12" aptly named "Rhetoric of Trash" - 12 songs exploring
themes of post colonial moral decay and capitalist overconsumption, while
still keeping it weird. This record explores a more subtle sound, with droning
melodies and dissonant synths at times yet still evoking a classic SoCal punk
style. You can get hints of influences from classic 80s punk like T.S.O.L.
and REDD KROSS, with some old school hardcore stomp worming its way into a
few songs even. This record captures a band clearly forging their own path
thus making it hard to pinpoint the exact style, so have a listen |

Accompanying
the White Magic session released on Latitude, The (Fallen) Black Deer's
Requiem (what's with the parentheses back there?) bills itself as an
alternate soundtrack to Kubrick's movie adaptation of The Shining. Any such
intention instantly squares the record up against the sublime Wendy Carlos
& Rachel Elkind score not to mention the various snatches of Ligeti,
Pendercki and Bartok that populate the movie. The original's going to take
some beating, and of course this twenty-five minute selection of avant-rock
instrumentals is a very different beast, though the atmosphere of
precariously balanced harmony and disharmony remain true to the spirit of the
film, with the band (otherwise known as Red Sparrowes) wrenching an
impressively sinister range of sounds from their instruments. While it'd be
all too easy to slap a post-rock' tag on this, that'd be doing the musicians
involved a great disservice. In truth this is far more abstract than that,
even though on certain occasions (notably 'A Lost Love') this does start to
flirt with the gloomy melodies you'd hear from primetime Mogwai. A very
strong release from the Latitudes camp, and one that does actually achieve
the sort of ominous, oppressive atmosphere it sets out to evoke. Highly
recommended |

Hellbilly
is back! Be prepared for the long awaited, new DEMENTED ARE GO album
"Psychotic Mutilation"! 39 years after their debut full length and
13 years after last album "Welcome Back To Insanity Hall" one of
the most famous (and one may say most notorious) original Psychobilly legends
still around returns. Led by the charismatic and exceptional original founder
Mark "Sparky" Philips, the gang releases a dozen new songs, or
maybe there are 13? Ever since DAG don't give a shit about the so-called
old-school Psychobilly-purism: their sound is still special, combining a
unique style with elements from Rockabilly, Punk, hellish Rock'n'Roll up to
countryesque moods and dark Blues, all trademarked with Sparky's graveled
venom dripping vocals. And as a very special guest Emanuela Hutter from The
Hillbilly Moon Explosion again performs a duet with Sparky on "Cast A
Lonesome Shadow". A wild and weird musical journey thru human abysses,
madness, and dark desires. "Psychotic Mutilation" with songs this
sick world is deserving. Simply a masterpiece!! |

Stockholm-based Steampacket was
formed in the autumn of 1965. After three gigs in Sweden in the spring of
1966, the band went on touring in England, discovered that there was already
a Steampacket which included Rod Stewart, changed its name to The Longboatmen
but called themself Steampacket II back in Sweden. The band released eight
singles but oddly enough never an LP. Today, the singles are collectibles and

Rocket Recordings are proud to
introduce the pyramidal meditationist Life is an Illusion album by Frances
Annapurna Illusion, the evil twin of Not Not Funs High Wolf. Life is an
Illusion is scattered with fizzing electric guitars and ambient ragas which unfurl
with the might of a psychedelic blizzard, fogging the sponges of the brain
and eyeballs with a wash of hallucinations where Ash Ra Temple jam for hours
on end with Loop. Tropical repetitive rhythms drone and drift, guided by a
swarm of breezy effects and celestial layered synths that engulf the base of
the mountain in hypnotic swirls of colourful head spinning rituals before
zipping airborne to glide in a state of tranced euphoria |

Debut LP by this UK/US punk rock

range spectrum from COCK SPARRER, SWINGIN UTTERS, CHUBBY AND THE GANG, THE
CRACK, to VANILLA MUFFINS, D GENERATION, WORKING STIFFS, LOWER CLASS BRATS...
and much, much more. Great melodies, choruses for everyone and great hooks is
what you will find in this new band with Marco NFT ( THE GAGGERS,

THE SILLY WALKS are a
rock'n'roll-trio from Montpellier, France. The two boys and one girl have
been playing together since 2016 and since released one LP and two EPs. wild,
raw and infectious rock'n'garage, just plain cool and straight to the point
and without any nick-nack. Snotty boy-girl-vocals, raw guitars, a stomping
beat and lots of cool attitude - they certainly know how to captivate their
listeners. You can definitely hear some raw garage-punk influence á la
SONICS, some surfy CRAMPS-rock'n'wildness and some trashy post-punk-craziness

revival of Amazonian cumbia. The selection of songs that make up this

Quartet
Records, in collaboration with Paramount Pictures, Geffen Records and
Universal Music Special Markets, presents a premiere 2-LP presentation of the
complete score by Bruce Broughton for Steven Spielberg's delightful
fantasy-adventure classic YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES (1985), written by Chris
Columbus and directed by Barry Levinson. Right after composing SILVERADO,
Bruce Broughton wrote a tremendous symphonic score for YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES,
one of the great scores from a legendary year in film music: 1985. His music
takes us into the classy and mysterious atmosphere of Victorian London, with
robust action music, catchy leitmotivs, impressive choral passages and a
beautiful love theme_a masterpiece enthusiastically performed by the Sinfonia
of London under the baton of the composer. Although the score was previously
released on vinyl by MCA in 1985 in a memorable 36-minute LP produced by
Broughton himself, a lot of music was left out due to the lack of room. In
2019 Intrada Records released an incredible 3-CD set which not only contains
the complete score, but also alternates, revised versions and the 1985 LP for
the first time in digital format. This newQuartet 2-LP set expands on the
original MCA vinyl and includes the completescore as heard in the film,
following the film order (except for some slightchanges made for listening
pleasure purposes). Edited, restored and mastered for vinyl by Chris Malone
from elements provided by both Paramount Pictures and UME, this edition has
been pressed in a 2-LP audiophile black vinyl of 180 GM, and presented in an
elegant tip-on gatefold sleeve |

Long awaited restocks of the
third Loosefingers from Larry Heard. Fresh and remastered cut of What Is
House? which is one of the dopest acid tracks that has been released in
recent years! On this 12 the great extended version. Very stubborn and fierce
track that has an endless cool groove that's just plain basic, but as most of
Larry Heard's releases so powerful! On the flip side a long version of the
deep and smooth Dreaming Of Better Days, that has that trademark jazzy sound
of Larry Heard. Essential house record! |

For the first time ever, the only
full-length album by Spanish soul and garage legends Z-66 is being reissued.
Originally released in 1969, this LP is actually a compilation of tracks
previously issued as 45s, now enhanced with two bonus songs not included on
the original release. Z-66's signature blend of powerful soul, psychedelia,
and pop-clearly influenced by bands like The Move, Stones, Vanilla Fudge, and
Blood, Sweat & Tears-delivers a bold, modern sound that remains fresh and
compelling. This reissue, which includes a booklet with liner notes and rare
photos, is a joint project between Munster and Runaway Records |

DRAIN aren't just a bandthey're a
full-on hardcore party. Frontman Sammy Ciaramitaro leads with a grin and a
wild energy that turns live shows into a blur of stage dives, singalongs and
flying bodies. "Straight up, no one is having more fun than me when
we're up there!" he saysand it shows. On ...IS YOUR FRIEND, the Santa
Cruz trio inject bounce, catchiness and humour into hardcore's traditionally
tough exterior. It's a high-speed blend of thrash riffs, crashing rhythms and
Ciaramitaro's raw, frantic vocalsmusic built for packed rooms and open pits.
"The vibe is enthusiastic, hectic," he says. "Five people deep
singing and stagediving, then kids going berserk behind that." The
result is as thrilling and unpredictable as the Pacific waves that roll past
their coastal hometown. Boogie boards optionalbut encouraged |

The fourth chapter in the daring
XTRICTLY ELEKTRO saga once again pushes the boundaries of the genre. Volume 4
delivers six powerful cuts that move from timeless electro foundations to
futuristic, experimental territories — achieving a perfect balance between
precision and raw energy. This release brings together familiar faces —
Parand, ElektroTechnik, EC13, and X-Truder — alongside two new additions:
Roi, a DJ and producer recognized for his sharp, detail-driven sound and
modern take on electro; and DJ Overdose, the veteran force of Dutch electro.
A tight and cohesive mini-LP that embraces diversity while remaining faithful
to the spirit of electro: sharp rhythms, dark atmospheres, and pure machine
funk. Limited to 150 copies. Don’t sleep on this one |

Jailhouse is a dub soundsystem
anthem tune, born from the collaboration between two producers, lifting
listeners into a state of tribalistic high energy and moving crowds at
sessions around the world. Catchy, powerful hooks are driven by analogue
manipulation and effects, bringing elevation and pure vibes throughout. Built
for the dance, this tune translates effortlessly across systems, creating a
shared moment of release and movement. A guaranteed tune to take the people

Three
musicians, three worlds: raga, jazz, and their own imagination. East, West,
and the fusion in between. Rhythm, melody, and harmony. Past, present, and
future. With 3, Ragini Trio experiences a rebirth - after years of deep
exploration into long-form ragas, South Indian Carnatic traditions,
konnakkol, and Western jazz. Thirteen years after their debut, this album
stands as an homage to both worlds. By refusing to play things "as they
should be played," Ragini Trio finds the in-between space - that
magnetic tension where jazz and Indian classical music meet and transform
each other. Inspired by the traditional Indian trio of tabla, flute, and
tanpura, Ragini offers its mirrored jazz response: drums, saxophone, and
double bass. The result unites jazz, which seeks freedom within structure,
with raga, which seeks structure within freedom. Far from purism or
imitation, Ragini Trio crafts a living dialogue between rhythm, melody, and
tone colour. And it's a statement. Bursting with energy, depth, and
self-irony, 3 is a vibrant antidote to the algorithmic recycle-music of today
and tomorrow - born from the chemistry of three exceptional artists:
saxophonist Nathan Daems, drummer Lander Gyselinck, and double bassist Marco
Bardoscia |

After the storm of their
self-titled debut, Geneva duo Bound By Endogamy return to Pinkman with an
album that trades brute force for precision. The rage remains, but it's
sharpened, disciplined, and driven by melancholy rather than rupture. Their
minimal synth and industrial instincts rise to the surface, carving out room
for melody without softening their confrontational edge. Angular basslines
coil beneath Kleio Thoma?des' voice, at times detached and at times
devastating, while Shlomo Balexert's drum programming and synth work build a
taut metallic tension. The result is both intimate and mechanical: love songs
for disenchanted souls, post-punk electronics stripped to the bare wire.
Bound By Endogamy have always blurred the line between performance and
survival, and here they do it with minimal gestures and maximum impact |

Ataraxia is a concept from ancient Greek philosophy describing a state of
inner calm, a freedom from anxiety and sorrow, guided by a life of reason.
With this release, Stef de Haan reflects on this idea and ventures into
territories beyond his usual sound, moving from a garage stepper to minimal

releases to date, drawing on inspiration from a multitude of styles which
emerged during Drum & Bass's mid to late 90s golden years. The E.P opens
with title track 'Purpose', clashing Jazz influenced instrumentation with
deep atmospherics and sharp, angular drum programming, not to forget a
tone-setting vocal sample. 'Tones' meanwhile puts the drums at the forefront:
Lush keys, melancholy horns and subtle, shifting synth lines underpin an
unconventional drum track, packed with rattling percussion and raw energy.
Over on the flip 'Focus' goes harder and darker. Eery synths, atmospherics
and a driving drum track set the scene for an explosive second half drum
switch. 'Stairways' closes out the EP, marrying uplifting atmosphere with
live instrumentation in a style which will appeal to fans of 4hero and the

Playable Mono, the nom de guerre of Rafał Lachmirowicz, channels musical
greats and the romance of Italy with the Firenze EP. “Neverland” reimagines
Giorgio Moroder’s iconic introduction of “I Feel Love”, undulating arpeggios
and clean kicks giving way to an addictive tongue-in-cheek melody of laser
futurism and eastern influences. “Firenze” follows. Broad analogue bars call
to mind the works of Patrick Cowley, disco funk flirting with a spoken word
tribute to Florence in this bright and bold track. Our next stop off is
“Bergamo.” Low-slung, this smoky number is primed for the night. Thick thrums
of bass are punctured by piano keys and toms, robotic pulses and trills
adding a 1970s sci-fi groove to the proceedings. Turning the tables is “Breakfast
Date.” Slow and dreamy, this early morning lounge affair lowers the tempo.
Considered and thoughtful, meandering melodies border the blurred lines of
jazz and funk. The words of “Firenze” are left in the wings for the
instrumental close, Lachmirowicz’s synthesizers taking the limelight in this
uplifting finale. A 12” that encapsulates the expansive sound of Also

From
the depth of transient memories comes Some Leaves Must Fall, Temple Rats
latest EP and the inaugural release for Martin Gilleshojs Buttheads label.
Across 6 tracks Temple Rat distills fragments of spatial memory, merging
conceptual ambience with the mystic, spatial, and driven edges of deep trance
and hypnotic techno. A pensive and functional synthesis, one played out like
an ode to the sustained. Through 2024 while moving between Berlin and
Sichuan, Temple Rat conceptualized and finished Some Leaves Must Fall ????.
At its core, the work is an exploration of how the personal memory of cities
and their particular acoustic environments can be transmuted in musical form.
For these places, altered by the passing of time and the shifting of
contexts, mirror the fluid and generative nature of sound itself. Creatively
this approach was borne out in a kind of archaeology of sound: by sampling
and capturing auditory fragments Mei was able to preserve otherwise fleeting
moments of experience. Sonics which not only embodied the emotions of the
present but served too as a mechanism of recall, pulling memory back into
focus even against the erasures of time. In its method this project seeks to
transform the sonic textures of urban and natural environments into
high-energy dance tracks, exploring the tension between the certainty of
space and the uncertainty of time. A tension operating not only within the
structural logic of the sound itself, but so too as an affective experience,
extending into the listeners body and perceptual field. For we are not the
first to note that in a world of pervasive temptation and fragmented
information, sustained listening has become rarified. Through this project,
Temple Rat hopes to counter this tendency; to encourage a deeper mode of
listening that restores attention, re-establishing our essential connection
with the present |

Bobo has had a strong few years
since debuting on Gunfinger Food, minting releases on Further Electronix and
Gestalt Recordings, but it's to Gunfinger he returns for this assured
five-track drop exploring the terrain between punchy electro and boisterous
breakbeat. 'Pressure' is a strong opening statement of this mission, keeping
the claustrophobic intensity up but offsetting the squashed drums with
spooked out synth lines. 'Scrapyard' unsurprisingly has fun playing around
with metallic perc hits, while 'NBDT Ddub' locks into uptempo electro geared
towards the rave. 'Home' brings the more emotive flavours to the table,
albeit with some amens, and 'Hydraulic' closes the record in another burst of
razor-sharp machine funk and breakbeat science |

HOUSE / ACID-HOUSE / CHICAGO / BREAKS |

GBR |

|
|
Originally
released in 1988 on the compilation Acid Tracks Vol. 3 via Needle Records,
"The Other Side" has long been recognised as a potent example of
early Chicago acid house. Now, more than three decades later, the track
receives its first official 12" release - and, crucially, its first
release with the original artists correctly credited. While historically
attributed to Maurice Joshua, "The Other Side" was in fact produced
by Da Posse (Hula Mahone), with vocals by Martell. This forthcoming release
marks the first time that the original production has been properly
acknowledged and presented in its intended standalone 12" format,
restoring authorship to the artists responsible for the record's creation.
The release is issued by Island Life Records, a Bali-based label with a
growing reputation for carefully curated projects that bridge foundational
dance music history and contemporary club culture. By formally reintroducing
"The Other Side" with accurate credits, Island Life Records
contributes an important corrective to the historical record of Chicago house
and acid house music. Musically, "The Other Side" remains a
striking artefact of its era: minimal, hypnotic, and emotionally charged,
balancing raw machine-driven groove with an atmospheric vocal presence. It
exemplifies the experimental, DJ-led ethos of late-1980s Chicago, where
tracks were built for function, feeling, and longevity on the dancefloor
rather than commercial visibility. The release is accompanied by a set of new
remixes that respectfully extend the track's legacy into the present day.
Remix duties come from Island Life Records founder Garry Todd under his
Clouds Of Kouros alias, Johnny Aux (one half of Paranoid London), and Age Of
Hyperion, with the digital including a remix from Garry Todd, each offering a
distinct contemporary interpretation while retaining the spirit and tension
of the original recording. This release stands not only as a long-overdue
physical edition, but as a historically significant moment: the first time
the original production has been released on 12", and the first time the
correct creative contributors have been formally recognised |

For the first outing of 2026,
Klasse Wrecks harks back 10 years or so to a Luca Lozano classic that was
originally released on U.K. based Hypercolour Records. 'Calling All Dancers'
was a defining moment in the producers discography and proved an evergreen
hit even a decade later, to celebrate the milestone Lozano has revisited the
original and turned in 4 brand new remixed versions. Ranging from tribalistic
rhythms, classic electro stomp and sleaze-ball electronica the remixes
provide an updated imagining of the original for audiences both new and old.

Acid Nation is one of the
defining releases from US techno and house icon K. Hand (Kelli Hand). First
pressed in 1995 on Loriz Sound in collaboration with Acacia Records, the
record captures the raw energy and forward-thinking spirit of the American
underground scene of the era. Driven by gritty acid lines, powerful rhythms,
and a fearless, machine-driven groove, Acid Nation showcases the full depth
of K. Hand’s talent as a DJ and producer. Now seeing the light again on the
Time To Impact imprint, the record returns in a remastered version, bringing

Yet
another solid gold modern reimagining of the mighty Loleatta Holloway, this
time her infamous 1977 smash 'Hit & Run' goes under the knife and is
tweaked to devastating effect by 2 of Chicago's finest modern day editors -
Jamie 326 & Cratebug. Anyone with even a passing interest in Disco or
House will be more than familiar with these 2 guys names. Having edited and
remixed numerous cuts in their own original ways, they take this all-time
Salsoul classic and strip it right back to the essence, to the very basics,
and in the process create a total dancefloor weapon. This edit originally
came out a few years ago (2013) on a compilation that showcased the new wave
of contemporary talent emanating from the Windy City and naturally it was one
of the cuts that stood out, finding favour with a wide variety of DJ's across
the board from Motor City Drum Ensemble, Todd Terry, Jeremy Underground
Paris, Theo Parrish and more. Drawing comparisons with Paperclip People's
anthemic 'Throw' from 1994 in the way it snatches a killer loop from 'Hit
& Run's' bassline, 'Hit It & Quit It' is a monster, a record you'll
literally play over and over and over again, a relentless Disco juggernaut
that oozes power. It made perfect sense for this legit single-sided reissue
12" to come out on Salsoul Records, the home of Loleatta Holloway's
finest material and all of her classics. This limited reissue has been made
in conjunction with Jamie 3:26 & Cratebug and Salsoul Records, 100%
sanctioned and lovingly re-presented for your dancing pleasure. This one is
HOT. Sleep at your peril! |

Dropping
on 13th February 2026, the two-tracker sees the acclaimed UK producer
continue his collaborative journey alongside the impressive Brighton-based
collective for both his and their second appearance on Damian Lazarus’
revered imprint. Having made a splash with his impactful label debut last
summer, Franky Wah returns to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels imprint with
‘Light Years’, a two-track EP that explores emotion and movement with
measured confidence. The release sees the Yorkshire-born producer further
embed himself within the Crosstown universe, delivering a project built on
patience, progression, and feeling, where every moment earns its weight. The
EP opens with the title track, a wide-screen, hypnotic solo burner that
balances uplifting melodic energy with weighty, driving grooves. Built for
long moments on the floor, the track unfolds, allowing atmosphere and tension
to do the heavy lifting while maintaining a clear sense of momentum
throughout. On the flip, Franky reunites with longtime collaborators,
producer-songwriter-vocalist trio Kuuda, for their second outing alongside
him on Crosstown Rebels with ‘House In My Veins’. Continuing a partnership
rooted in shared musical language and emotional depth, the Brighton-based
trio is central to the track, bringing drive, earworm vocals, and a
distinctive identity, woven seamlessly throughout Franky’s cinematic
production - grounding expansive moments with human connection. Following
heavy support from Pete Tong on his Crosstown Rebels debut, and a recent
invitation to host Tong’s flagship BBC R1 show at the start of 2026, Franky
continues to assert himself as an artist equally at home in club culture’s
most intimate spaces and its widest-reaching platforms. Meanwhile, Kuuda
continue their impressive start to 2026, hot on the heels of their recent
collaboration with Hot Since 82 on Bedrock. This latest partnership delivers
a focused yet expressive statement, music designed to breathe, to move, and
to resonate long after the lights come up |

(15th
Anniversary remastered LP, black vinyl, re-issue, printed inner sleeve
including lyrics) Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat celebrates the 15th
anniversary of Hewers of Wood and Drawers of Water album. Stef Heeren,
driving force of Belgian band Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat, is embarking on a
special reunion concert series with his original folk ensemble to celebrate
the 15th anniversary of the band’s acclaimed album, Hewers of Wood and
Drawers of Water. Arguably their finest work in their discography, the album
was the pinnacle of the band's folk-oriented sound, after which they tapped
into more electronic territories. The initial vinyl pressing (and cd) of
Hewers of Wood and Drawers of Water, released in 2011, has long been sold out
and now fetches excessive prices on the secondhand market. To mark this
milestone, the album will be reissued in early 2026 as a limited-edition
vinyl on KTAOABC’s own imprint, Kattengat. With this re-release on the
horizon, Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat is eager to hit the road once more,
revisiting their folk roots and performing the songs that defined their
earlier years. The concerts will not only celebrate the album Hewers of Wood
and Drawers of Water, but also offer a chance to explore the full spectrum of
the band's career, from their folk beginnings to their more modern,
electronic explorations. Happy anniversary! Live: 18/04 Kulturfabrik,

Detroit’s
DJ Minx debuts on Rekids with the ‘Energy’ EP. The First Lady of Wax
completed 2025 with a remix for Radio Slave and Kameelah Waheed following her
appearance at Rekids’ Panorama Bar takeover. Release Date: 13th February
2026. Legendary Detroit House and Techno pioneer and Women on Wax founder, DJ
Minx, drops her debut ‘Energy’ EP for Rekids 13th February 2026. She follows
her 2025 appearance on the House of Rekids mix series, and at the label’s
Panorama Bar showcase in Berlin, before closing the year remixing Radio Slave
& Kameelah Waheed’s ‘All Rize’. Known for championing women in the music
industry, particularly Detroit DJs and producers, Minx recruits
Florida-native, two-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Kendra Foster
for a larger-than-life, jacking title cut. Robust drums, bright synth stabs,
and Foster’s uplifting vocal bring the energy before Minx’s ‘You Can’
features an inspirational spoken word vocal, while low-slung rhythm and a
deep, crawling bassline drive the track forward. DJ Minx has been a central
figure in Detroit’s musical history since the 90s. Minx has hosted radio
shows on WGPR and CJAM, held a residency at Club Motor, and performed at
every edition of Movement since 2000. Her contributions have been recognized

Following
the widely acclaimed release of Body Shell in Spring 2025, Carré returns to
Tempa, for a new EP, ‘Hibiscus’, featuring a collaborative track with
LA-artist Bbyafricka, highlighting the synergy of West Coast Rap & London
Soundsystem culture. Connected by warmth and groove that define where Carré
is musically right now, each of the four tracks on ‘Hibiscus’ stands on its
own, yet together they continue to showcase Carré’s flair for producing sleek
dubstep with melodic verve. From the shimmering ‘Warm Light’, the razor-sharp
edge of ‘X Effect’, the deep stepper ‘Ride It Out’ to the stripped back
‘Hibiscus’ which glows with the addition of Bbyafricka’s sultry vocals, the
EP is a concise statement of Carré’s evolving sound. Speaking about the collaboration,
Carré says, “I’d been a fan of Bbyafricka’s sound, style, and tone — tracks
like ‘Baton Rouge’ and ‘Dumbo’ really stood out to me — and I could already
imagine how her voice would fit with my production. The fact that she’s from
LA made the connection feel even more natural. When I reached out, she was
down straight away and came back with something I genuinely loved. She
captured the energy of the track perfectly, and together I think we created
something that feels authentic and even better than I’d imagined.” For
Bbyafricka, working on ‘Hibiscus’ was a moment of overcoming writer's block,
“this song was me coming out of it on a weekend spent in Joshua tree, sitting
outside looking at the view and the solar panels. I think you can envision
what my view was when you play the song,” she explains. Carré’s next outing
on Tempa is a welcome return, signifying the home run she’s on as a producer
and marking another impressive instalment in the producer's growing
catalogue. In the last three years, Carré has quickly become a leading figure
in the contemporary wave of artists pushing the true school Dubstep sound to
new places and new audiences, expanding on the roots laid down by the likes
of Skream, Benga, and Loefah |

and Vril return with the third chapter of their ongoing collaboration, OUT OF
PLACE ARTEFACTS III, released on WSNWG. While the preceding volumes laid out
the duo‘s ongoing investigation into the numinous aspects of sound and
texture, this chapter can be conceived as a clearing of sonic space. The
compositions appear more deliberate, their architecture more explicit. Yet
beneath the surface, the familiar tension between disorder and clarity shapes
the record’s structural framework. What emerges is an album of uncanny
cinematic melancholia, the traces of which were already present in the
earlier volumes, now coming to full bloom. The evoked landscapes appear
widescreen in scope, although the record’s feel remains oddly intimate. It is
never clear whether one expands into the furthest realms of outer-space
loneliness or navigates through the densest of earthly topographies. The
heightened presence of acoustic instruments and human voice expands the
project’s sonic spectrum. In the convergence of the organic and the
synthethic, esoteric melodies rise and vanish, as obscured rhythms break into
precision, resonating motion-picture nostalgia while remaining uniquely
modern and anticipatory. What we encounter is OOPA‘s true aesthetic nature: a
deeply human sense of playfulness and curiosity fused with a strangely alien
and otherworldly detachment |

The
legendary partnership of NYC's Disco godfather Tom Moulton and Philadelphia
International Records has long been documented. A truly explosive
collaboration that yielded endless classic tracks for dancers and deep
listeners alike, Moulton seemed to be totally in tune with the labels output
and the direction it should go in. Luckily we've been enjoying the fruits of
this labour for the last 30+ years with a lot of these PIR classics becoming
ingrained in the psyche of the modern day music fan as the building blocks of
House music. The names alone fill one with awe, The O'Jays, Harold Melvin
& The Bluenotes, Archie Bell & The Drells and Lou Rawls. All of these
artists were, and still are, huge stars. Turning in classic after classic,
and with Moulton's supreme ear assisting, this special PIR reissue 12"
see's some all-time classics from the aforementioned artists in their full,
unabridged, unedited Disco glory. The selections on this EP are absolutely
top-shelf, flawless in fact. One could argue that these are the 'definitive'
versions of these anthems. Pure Disco gold essentials. Anyone with even a
passing interest in Disco will most certainly need this record in their
possession, the 2012 pressing of this EP changes hands for £100+ second hand,
so a repress was desperately needed. These tracks are fully licensed and
reissued in conjunction with Tom Moulton and PIR and all relevant rights
holders. Remastered from original source materials to the highest spec and
pressed onto top quality vinyl |

Jackie
Mittoo, organ and piano maestro, was also one of the founding members of
Jamaica's top session band The Skatalites. Musical arranger for Studio One
he provided the backbone to so many of
Jamaica's finest tunes. The invention of Ska music and the sounds that rode
through the Rocksteady and Reggae period all carry his stamp. Whether it be in his various incarnations,
the aforementioned Skatalites, The Soul Brothers, Soul Vendors and the Sound
Dimension or under his own name, his distinctive organ and piano sound and
musical arrangements have all played a major part in Jamaica's musical
history. Jackie Mittoo (born 1948, Kingston, Jamaica) began playing musical
instruments at a very early age.
Taught piano by his grandmother he was performing live by the age of
10 and recording by the age of 15. Two
Kingston bands that he played with the Rivals and the Sheiks brought him to
the attention of Studio One's founder Coxsone Dodd. Who at the time was putting a group of
musicians together to be his studio band. Impressed by his skills on both the
organ and the piano, Jackie was asked
to join in what would become Jamaica's foremost band The Skatalites. The fellow band members were Lloyd Brevett
(bass), Lloyd Knibbs (drums), Don Drummond (trombone), Tommy McCook, Roland
Alphonso and Lester Sterling (Sax), Johnny Moore (trumpet), Jah Jerry
(guitar) and Mr Mittoo (piano). This
line up ruled the Jamaican scene between 1964 - 1965 as well as inventing the
Ska sound, they also performed the backing duties for the other top labels of
the time including Duke Reid's Treasure Isle and Justin Yap's Top Deck label.
1965 saw The Skatalites disband and Jackie Mittoo move on to his next musical
project The Soul Brothers. Formed with fellow Skatalite Roland Alphonso, this
band would back all the hits coming out of Studio One for the next three
years with Jackie Mittoo working as band leader and musical arranger. Around
this time Jackie also had his own single released, a Ska underground classic
called 'Got My Bugaloo'. Rare, as it also features Jackie in the unusual role
for him, as lead singer!!!!. 1966 saw the Ska sound evolve into Rocksteady,
again with Jackie's band at the helm, and his first hit single the Rocksteady
cut 'Ram Jam'. The success of which would lead to a solo career and album
releases under his own name such as 'Now', 'Macka Fat', 'Evening Time', 'In
London' and 'Keep on Dancing', to name
but a few. In1967 the hits at Studio One were still flowing when The Soul
Brothers morphed into The Soul Venders and began backing such luminaries as
Ken Boothe, Alton Ellis, Delroy Wilson, The Heptones, The Cables, The Wailers
and many other of the labels solo artists. By 1968 Jamaican music was ready
for another change and Rocksteady rolled into a slower groove soon to be
called Reggae. Jackie Mittoo would be
at the forefront with his latest band The Sound Dimension. A line up that
included Leroy Sibbles (bass), Roland Alphonso and Cedric Brooks (saxophone),
Eric Frater and Ernest Ranglin (guitar) and Bunny Williams (drums). Being the
house band at Studio One they backed all the leading names of the time, John
Holt, Horace Andy and Alton Ellis, all of Studio One's output carried his
sound. Jackie Mittoo emigrated in the late 60's to Canada, but travelled to
Jamaica and London to record with many of the big new names, who were trying
to redress Studio One's supremacy and needed his magic touch. Such Producers
as Bunny Lee used Jackie Mittoo on many of his sessions, Sugar Minott among
others were always glad of his services. We have captured some fine 1970's
cuts that feature Jackies numerous talents, showing his ability to embellish
tracks with a feel that few could better, Musical arranger, band leader all
round studio ace. We hope you enjoy
the set and I'm sure you'll agree with us Jackie Mittoo does indeed Ride On |

Tapper Zukies ‘Peace in the
Ghetto’ album would be the first release as part of his new deal with Virgin
Records. This came about through a trip organised by the label to Jamaica in
1978 to sign up the cream of the crop of Reggae artists, for the new Virgin
Front Line label. Personnel on this trip included John Lydon (Rotten) of the
Sex Pistols ,whose band had just split up. The Peace in the Ghetto album
deals with the political situation in at the time, the peace initiative
between the gangs and Political Parties. Paying tribute to some of the gang
leaders Claudie Massop, Buckie Thompson and Tony Welsh who helped make this
process happen. But whatever the subject matter Tapper Zukie chose to hang
his songs on, you know he always does it in a fine style......Respect |

The Utopia Strong unveil
Doperider, their third album for Rocket Recordings and their wildest journey
so far. Taking inspiration from Paul Kirchner's legendary comic character
Dope Rider a skeletal biker dispensing surreal wisdom the trio of Steve
Davis, Kavus Torabi and Mike York translate that cosmic outlaw energy into
sound. Improvised in the studio, the album drifts between hypnotic
electronics, expansive psychedelia and abstract noise, touching on the
crystalline systems of Caterina Barbieri, the intensity of Hiro Kone and the
cosmic synthscapes of Laurie Spiegel. Doperider carries forward the band's
mission: to open portals into strange, transformative states of sound and
vision |
