Luigi Madonna is back on his
record label Contempo and continues to showcase the darker and more
underground side of his sound with the analogue grooves on this hypnotic
release. This four-track EP blends raw sound design with industrial
percussion and modulating synth lines, to create dance floor focused cuts in
the style that Luigi Madonna has previously championed via Contempo. Previous
releases on Contempo have also featured tracks and remixes from the likes of
JSPR, Alarico, Lobster and Marc Faenger. "Yakamoz" opens the
release with its rumbling bassline tense synths and thrashing hi-hats, before
the ominous synth stabs, trippy vocals and brutal percussion of
"Hydratonic" take control. "Slow Sigh" has a
stripped-back style with murky atmospheric, high-speed rhythms and sinister
vocal tones. "Ikigai (Jam Edit)" is an experimental track that
closes out the release with its breakbeat rhythms, heavy sub-bass and
glitching synth lines |

ODE TO 97 marks his first
official release on the newly established Departure Lounge label, aiming to
pay homage to evocative, ambient driven house with nostalgic tinged floor
movers reminiscent of bygone times, whilst retaining a progressive edge.
DL001 debuts this sound foremost on the A-side, featuring "Consider It
Spun" - which endeavours to traverse the barrier between deep and
minimal house, built from atmospheric pads bending and weaving amongst
rolling percussion and driving string sections, cemented atop a subby bass
line with tripped and delayed vocals pinning the track together - primed and
ready to lay down suitably on discerning dance floors. The B-side features
"Labour of Love" - a sedating and melodic take to its A-side
counterpart. We witness a more moody transition with warm delayed keys,
accompanied with a skippy drum pattern and gliding pads rising to a sparkling
crescendo beneath sweeping, yet stabby percussive elements. A perfect

In
January 1983, Minor Threat went into Inner Ear Studio for the first time as a
five-piece (Brian Baker had moved from bass to second guitar and Steve
Hansgen was now playing bass). They had six new songs that would end up being
the center piece of what became the Out of Step 12" EP. The band had
also decided to re-record the song "Out of Step" with some extra
language to try to clarify the lyrics, as well as "Cashing In", a
tongue-in-cheek song about the DC punk scene which they had only played live
once. After much debate, "Cashing In" was added as a hidden track
on the original vinyl release though not listed on the cover or label. There
was still blank tape on the reel, so they decided to record an instrumental with
the working title, "Addams Family" and then recorded new versions
of "In My Eyes" and "Filler" to hear what they sounded
like with two guitars. "Addams Family" ended up being used as a
coda to "Cashing In", but the other two songs were never mixed and
largely forgotten for over 35 years until the multitrack tapes were taken
into the studio to be digitized in 2021. Surprised by the discovery, Ian and
Don Zientara mixed the two songs along with the complete take of "Addams
Family" |

Based
out of Brighton, UK, Murmurations have been steadily carving their path as an
essential label for distinctive dancefloor moods. The fourth record on the
imprint is the launch of a new series titled 'Flock', focusing on bringing
different artists together who share similar visions and tastes. Volume one
features Evasive frontman Rob Pearson with Paul Donton and label founder Leo
Christopher on the A-side. On the flip, you have rising Manchester talent Huw
Shipps and Bubble resident The Adventures Of Dogman. This amalgamation of
producers has materialised into a record that focuses on nostalgic tech house
textures, infused with modern elements and deep, dub tones. First up is Rob
Pearson & Paul Donton's excursion, 'Ideas Abstract'. Slinky drums pave
the way, as pensive vocals circulate around the distinct and perky drive of
the track. The aptly named 'Underground' from Murmurations boss Leo
Christopher teases a more mysterious energy, with pulsating bass in
combination with tight drum arrangements. The emerging producer Huw Shipps
kicks off the B-side with a playful outing; quirky elements splash in and out
throughout the track. Finishing off the release is dancefloor heater
'Cruising Around On A Pair Of Naughty Pennies', chunky and driven as it
moves, ready to do the damage, keeping the club locked in. The Murmurations
curation thus far has seen each release shine bright, with timeless music for

Board Music returns with its next remixes package. Following the "Point
C Remixes" in 2024, the Rotterdam based label now revisits four tracks
taken from its charity compilations "The Meaning of Time" and
"The Meaning of Time II" - all reimagined by fellow On Board
artists. Born during the global health crisis of 2020, "The Meaning of
Time" series explored the shifts, fractures, and altered perceptions of
time experienced during that period. This new remix edition not only reshapes
selected pieces through the vision of close label affiliates and takes them
closer to the dancefloor, but also sees all tracks freshly remastered by
Neel. The four tracks were given a new life in two different ways - by
remastering and reinterpretation. Luigi Tozzi treats Polygonia's aquatic
ambient piece "Magnetic Force" and pushes the track deeper into
dark and hypnotic late night territories. Vera Logdanidi's emotionally
charged arpeggiated electronic work "Water bubble Floating In
Space" receives a peak-time reinterpretation by Non Series head Psyk.
Swedish artist Dorisburg reworks Human Space Machine's "Danz7" into
a dreamier and more percussive journey. Closing the release in true deep On
Board fashion is label head Laura BCR, who reinterprets Bas Dobbelaer's
"T2310" in an earthy and textured manner, while keeping its ambient

makes a statement on his Crosstown Rebels debut with his latest two-track

release, Rafael’s ‘Gotta Be Cool’ had already taken on a life of its own.
Passed between dancefloors and the subject of track ID requests for months,
the record became a recurring standout moment in Damian Lazarus’ sets, the
kind of track that cuts through instantly without needing explanation. Now
officially arriving via Crosstown Rebels, the in-demand DJ/producer’s highly
anticipated label debut captures the instinctive approach that has quickly
put him on the radar through releases on Beltools, Hot Creations, SZR, Planet
X and Maccabi House. Built around slow-blooming synth flourishes and vocal
chants that evoke playful, almost childlike memories, it balances emotional
weight with direct club energy - a combination that has made it one of the
standout records in the label boss’s sets throughout the year. On the flip,
‘Teder’ sees Rafael team up with close friend and studio collaborator N.O.Y.
for a deeper, more understated cut shaped by layered percussion, fluid
grooves, and loose, after-hours energy. ‘Teder,’ made together with my close
friend and studio partner N.O.Y, represents a more underground side of the
EP,” Rafael adds. “The track is named after the studio complex we work from,
and it was actually the first record we created there together. I feel like
both tracks showcase two different sides of me as a producer and DJ, with one
